This is the #1 worse sushi restaurant experience of my lifetime so far. I was talked down to by the lady manager and laughed at by the waitress who sided with her during the course of getting seriously screwed over and manipulated by this establishment. Everyone should avoid this place at any cost (they fraudulently charged us $133 for 2 people AYCE crappy food with no class service)!!! Any suggestions for improvement raised to management would be met with an uncanny, demeaning, and disrespectful lashing back (to the point where one would feel stupid to even raise any concerns of the mistreatment). The lady manager (shown in the photo) was excruciatingly rude when I started ordering. She said that I'm not allowed to order AYCE after 8:10pm. I told her immediately that two of the waitresses told us it was okay. She then became disgruntled, showed contempt for me without verifying my truthful statement with her waitresses, and took the order anyway. My fiancé and I was very turned off by her but we remained patient in hopes that the food would turn out good. I was disappointed because they didn't have Uni, Amae-Ebi, Fresh Scallop, Oysters, or anything exciting on the AYCE menu while still charging $35 per person. When the food came out, it was over loaded with rice, the rolls were not that unique from one another, there wasn't that much fish and the fish was low quality. My fiancé and I was clearly upset, but instead of continuing to lash out at each other for going to a bad place...we just held it in and tried to eat the food. I started to take a couple bites, and then the lady manager comes charging over and it was the first time I experience a micro manager using karate hand chop movement pointing at the two tiny pieces of rice that was on my plate. I was in the middle of eating when this lady told me I'm not allowed to leave out the rice. It made no sense to me, because I understand that one can be penalized for leaving the rice - but who's to say what they can or cannot eat, especially if it tasted like crap. After 30 minutes, they had yet to deliver the only decently possible good stuff like nigiri or edamame. What was delivered first were the cheaper stuff like California type rolls jammed packed with rice. They then tried to convince us to cancel all our orders of the decently possible good stuff but we weren't stupid enough to do so. After all the food was delivered, the lady manager came back and that was the beginning of an arguing match. I tried to explain to her that I didn't have an appetite because I felt manipulated from the point of sitting down to ordering. I also told her I didn't like how she started making demands of me while I was eating and using karate chop hand gestures. I felt like an infant and she was the tiger mom. (I didn't say the above word for word but I was trying to respectfully explain to her how I was disappointed). My fiancé asked her how much she's charging us for the left over rice for instance (by now, this is the 3rd time he's tried to get an answer from someone about their penalty policy) and she refused to tell us upfront (it was all up to her discretion). She even tried to reason poorly and asked "is this about your feelings or about what happened", as if she was my boss, a terrible boss at that! We decided not to keep dining in and pack it to go. When the bill came, the waitress tried to manipulate us again by saying that the lady manager did us a favor for not charging double the normal AYCE rate. I told her I'm not stupid and to please state what the up charge was. It turns out, we were charged $50.00 on a $35.00 per person meal. Therefore, our total bill was $133 for being completely dissatisfied and grossed out. I immediately told the waitress they're not doing us any favors so don't fake it. Their sarcasm, laughter, and disrespect continued even after we paid our bill. Apparently, it was enjoyable for them to see their customers suffer. There was no genuine remorse or understanding. They failed to display any sort of sophistication in customer experience. Most well mannered restaurant managers wants to know you personally, how's your day's going, how you like the food, and etc. this establishment DOES NOT CARE - IF THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH SCREWING YOU, THEY WILL TAKE THAT UPPER HAND!! Use to love to go here! Had gone to the restaurant all the time Service was good at times, sushi consistent Have been door dashing their food recently and it NEVER has everything I order. Today it didn't have the ginger I paid EXTRA for and NO WASABI??? I ordered 6 pieces of sashimi and NO WASABI? when I called them to see how we could solve it The manager tried to blame the door dasher. I'm sure that it's not the door dashers job to ensure there is wasabi in the bag! Still no solutions given so I'm just out of luck. I have referred several people to this restaurant. I am updating my review to still a 1 star. Negative if i could. After many years from my first time coming here, I've decided maybe something has changed and I shall give it another chance. I ate here 6 ot 7 times in the past 4 months. I also always order alcohol. I eat out everyday so I'm not complaining or trying to "steal" food. This is the first time eating anywhere that I have been gravely insulted. My husband came with me today. He doesn't like sushi so I'm the only one that gets the ayce. My husband orders a beef and chicken teriyaki bowl. At the end of the meal, my husband couldn't finish one of his rice bowls. We decided we will take it to go. From my ayce portion, I still had 1 jalepeno bomber and unagi handroll. There is only 2 pieces I couldn't finish!!! I called my waiter over to tell him I wanted a to go box for my husband's order and I'll finish my 2 pieces I had left. Just give me some time. I also asked for the check. The owner comes to my table. She tells me that I CANNOT have my check until I finish my remaining pieces and that SHE will package my husband's meal. This was so insulting! What did she think?? I was gonna package the 2 remaining pieces????? The fact that she demanded I finished my food or she can't bill me was so rude and wrong. My husband told me to leave and just not pay the bill. What can she do about it??? NOTHING!! She cant just hold me hostage! But I have a sense of honor and appreciation for small businesses. I reiterate! The owner is extremely terrible for refusing to bill me until I finished and outright insinuates we were going to steal by PERSONALLY packaging our food... this lady wants to lose a great patron! And tbh even if I did package a spoon of rice or ONE small sushi piece, I dont think it's a big deal.. she could have just asked me to pay for overage. I would not feel offended and I UNDERSTAND! What's even more silly, is another waitress came to apologize to us about the owners actions. Stating "she doesn't have a good eye for these things". All the servers here were very nice and food is even alright, but geez Louise, the owner sucks. They usually do not take reservations, so i was quite happy about it.Then got to the restaurant and the manager was being quite hostile and not-understanding at all, claiming they do not take reservations and forced to have to put my name down and wait for the next available table. This was my first Japanese restaurant experience since I've moved here and WOW was I so impressed! Not only was the food good, the prices were spectacular! The "Lunch Boxes" were only $13.95! It came with miso soup, salad, mixed tempura, 2 dumplings, 4 Cali rolls, and your choice of meat! Tell me that's isn't a GREAT deal! Just a heads up, lunch boxes are only served till 3pm! The only flaw about my teriyaki lunch box was that there were so little meat. I wish it came with more chicken. The sushi rolls were good! The only minor flaw I had was that the crab was a little too mushy for my liking. Other than that, Gin Sushi was throughly enjoyed by my family and I! read more

Food was ok today. Been coming here since 2018. I don't think I'd ever order the Las Vegas roll ever again. The don't have the best description especially with its caked on rice deep fried and they can call it a roll. It was terrible. Not enough fresh veggies or anything literally like spicy tuna cakes with batter. No cucumber or green onion or anything. 0/10 My husband got the shrimp and octopus ceviche roll and sashimi. That was good and soup was good. 10/10 per husband said so. I thought so too - I'd get that next time. Loved the gyoza. 10/10 The salad was good but idk if they toss it or keep it so chilled it taste like fabuluso floor wash!! I literally cannot explain that wierd taste. Today wasn't so bad but I've been here a good handful of times. 1/10 for the salad. Service was excellent everyone kept checking on us. They did forget the gyoza and my husband got all his foot before I did. And the appetizer came out last. Like 10 min into us getting soup salad and the rolls. Also I wish them menu was better with photos because we eat with our eyes FIRST. not a plain black and white paper THEY HAS ZERO DESCRIPTION. Not ever a pic or what's in it. So I guess surprise sushi it is.... Pay $18 for a glob of rice and meat. Hold the vegg . Ambiance is cool. Reminds my of linkin park meets dragon ball Z. With the art work. And the music was interesting. Some young girl kept changing it to whatever playlist and skipping the good songs cause we like 90's music but I guess todays garbage music will do. (02/07/25 14:19:45, amount 50.72) We noticed the servers were not interested in doing their jobs, they were sitting and standing around BS-ing. IGNORING the customers. They like to go to the back kitchen to hide! There were only 3 tables occupied. When management is away the cats will play. NO ONE WAS IN CHARGE BECAUSE NO ONE CARED ABOUT THE CUSTOMERS! This is what happened! We visited your restaurant because it is a favorite, but not today. There were 3 female servers and apparently, they did NOT want to work! It was my son's birthday, he ordered sushi. I ordered the tempura dinner. My son received his food within 15 minutes but I waited 40 minutes for my tempura dinner. I sat there watching my son eat, I waited and waited! Our server passed by our table several times and couldn't care less if I received my food, or not. I finally had to ASK the Asian server where my food was. The Asian server looked shocked. She was totally clueless! At this time my son was already done with all of his sushi, and I was STARVING. The server gave me a bowl of rice as if that would fill me up. I had to WAIT again for the correct order to be re-entered into the system again because the Asian lady DID NOT KNOW HOW TO DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And she was UNAWARE she did not know how to use the computer! The server, an Asian lady, looked confused and went to the manager server because she did NOT how to input the right dinner! She had no clue. The manager server shoved it off like no big deal! NO ONE SAID ANYTHING to me like it NEVER happened! NO APOLOGY! Finally waiting another 20 minutes I FINALLY got my meal. I asked the manager server what happened and she said there was confusion in the kitchen. She then said to me I'll give you a discount! I don't give a DAMN about a discount, I care about a special occasion being RUINED by your staff that is NOT trained properly! Why hire untrained people? Why have your staff NOT care about your customers? Why should we ever come back? Your servers LACK customer service skills and we won't be treated like this ever again! Quality and consistency has gone way down since initial review. I think it should be sushi etiquette to be transparent of availability of fish. Especially on already limited items like salmon egg and halibut. They already limit it to dinner and one order per person. But to think that we'll be able to order it and it no longer being available, that's so annoying at a sushi spot! Also, I thought that baked mussels were impossible to mess up until I had it here. It was the last item that of my AYCE and it was undercooked and tasted uncleaned. Had to spit it out. Lastly, consistency in one sitting should be a given. Ordered the king rolls and were happy that they finally went smaller on the rolls. Ordered another set and they came out triple the size of the first order. What the heck is that all about?! That's why I only ordered one more versus three. Especially when you have the stipulation - if you don't finish your food and/or want to take something to-go, then it's an additional charge. I did the All you Can Eat from this Gin Sushi and they kept sending extra stuff we hadn't ordered which I thought was unfair because you need to finish the entire food otherwise you will be charged extra. A friend introduced my wife and I to this place after we moved back from the frigid wastes of the upper Midwest. It's a little out of the way for us, but the drive is absolutely worth it. It's a great little place that, had it not been recommended, I don't know that we'd ever have found it. We've been to Gin three or four times in the past few months and have never gotten bad service or had a questionable dining experience. The waitstaff and hosts/hostesses are always friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is always clean, well-bused, and pleasant. The music and lighting isn't crazy (at least for me). But, onto the meat and potatoes of this (as it were). The menu for All You Can Eat (AYCE) is pretty expansive. There's a fantastic selection, especially for dinner. For a number of entrees, you can select whether you'd like a hand-rolled item or to have it cut into 6-8 pieces. I'd also like to call out that a nice laminated sheet is provided with good descriptions as to what each item is, which sauces come with it, and whether it's a warm or cold roll - definitely helps diners make informed choices and it's not something I've seen other places do with any regularity. Food comes out quickly; like, within maybe 5 minutes or the order going in. In our experience going here, we've never had to wait for our sushi for an uncomfortable amount of time. The sushi that comes out is prepared wonderfully and with a great attention to detail. The fish and other items present in any particular roll or whatnot is always fresh and full of flavor. Some of my favorites are the Cajun Tuna roll, the eel nigiri, Pepper Albacore, and a nice ol' fashioned Salmon Skin hand roll. These are just my go-tos, but in our visits there, I haven't had anything that wasn't outstanding. My wife, who is new to sushi as a whole, always finds something that she wants to try and ends up taking a liking to. All in all, it's a place that I'm always more than happy to come back to. Damnit. We visited this place while hanging out in Temecula. This sushi restaurant is located in a very spacious shopping plaza. It's got a quiet /quaint feel to it. As soon as you walk in you're warmly greeted by workers. We were so hungry so we ordered a ton of food. But honestly all the food was delicious. We started off with some appetizers (pot stickers and some seafood salad and some baked mussels) which were all amazing. We had 3 small children with us so they had chicken and rice /noodle options as well as salmon and rice/noodle options which the kids took to very easily. We ordered soft shell crab rolls, some firey baked roll and a specialty roll which all met and exceeded our expectations. Man we came hungry and had a feast. Gin sushi did not disappoint and definitely hit the spot for our sushi craving. They also currently have outdoor seating which is a nice option for social distancing. Dont eat here, the owners snd servers are extremely rude and lazy, we came in an hour before and they offer all you can eat and refused to serve all you can eat for me and my wife and my daughter. We drove all the way here in the rain the server said he would be ok doing all you can eat but the owner said no. He was worried that we wouldnt finish the sushi when they charge you anyway for not finishing the sushi! They rather have us sit and order individually and charge us more when he could have charged us the all you can eat price. For a first time visit: A-Ok I was craving sushi, but my husband and I haven't found our go to spot in town. Having tried Love Boat and Hana, we were skeptical to give another place a try and almost made the journey to San Diego to one of the Asian markets, but stopped here instead. I didn't know they offered AYCE (all you can eat) and were happy to find that as an option! Many of their special sushi rolls were saucy or had some dollop of spicy mayo, which can be hit or miss depending on what you like. They also had a lot of hot food items just in case you go with people who are not raw fish fans. Overall, their full menu offering was very vast with the AYCE menu a little modified. If you do decide to do AYCE know this: -3 rounds -They do charge you if you have excessive leftovers. Totally get it, we shouldn't be gluttons, right?! We really liked the kama and the fact that most rolls were light on rice. You know how some places make ginormous rolls that cannot fit in your mouth as a one biter? Not the case here, so I appreciate that. The only downers on our day date was the fact that I had ordered hand rolls, clearly marked it on the check off sheet, but received cut rolls instead. When I mentioned it to our server during our 2nd (or third, can't remember) round, we didn't receive part of our order, which I was bummed about...But I guess there is always a next time. The tuna is rubbery. The shrimp inside the tempura inside of the roll is raw. My husband who used to deliver seafood to the high end restaurants and became a chef over the years looked at it and said it is old. The salmon looked beautiful, I thought. Then I took a bite. It was disgusting! It was dry, lacked flavor, and was very greasy. The noodles and salmon were equally greasy and flavorless. I hadn't eaten all day and it was 3pm. I ate as much as I could stomach. This is one of the best family owned/operated small businesses in the area and hands down my favorite sushi place. It's casual, and service is always quick, the food is fresh and flavorful and the atmosphere feels comfortable and friendly. The all you can eat menu is great, and priced reasonably, containing many of the best items! The staff is always kind and friendly, and I watched the manager/owners navigate through some pretty tricky customer service scenarios with grace and humor. I regularly met friends here for lunches and dinners, took church groups, bridal parties, and small children, showed up after 5ks, and before funerals, and ordered entirely too much delivery. Try it for yourself, stay humble and communicate with servers like they're people too, you're going to have the best time! read more

We came in groups of 5 for AYCE. Felt ripped off after seeing the sushi. The fish was so thin and it's mainly sushi to fill you up quickly. We ate mainly the fillet and left half of the rice. The owner Robbie came and told us he will have to charge us extra and that we did this last week. First of all if we did this last week but we paid the extra charges you charged us. We didn't run without paying so he didn't have to be rude about it. This young owner has no hospitality experience. Not surprised now this restaurant only have 3 stars.
