On the day we dined here, it was hot. Like, hades hot. I'm not sure what we were thinking when we decided to dine over an open fire on such a hot day, but it seemed a good idea at the time. Yelp reviews led the way here when we searched for KBBQ and we came with tasty high hopes. Unfortunately, their AC couldn't handle the swelter. Fans were in place to keep air flowing, but it wasn't cooling. Our server was friendly and brought us the beverages and items we asked for quickly. He came by after a bit with another plate of chicken and asked us if we wanted it. We said sure, even though we hadn't yet made our way through our ordered dishes yet. We wanted to try some other menu items, but next time he passed by, he brought us what we'd already ordered. We thought he was being proactive. We had plenty of food to keep us going. But with that, service faded away. The meats were good - no complaints - but we got so full on plates we didn't order that we didn't get to try any other dishes. Our grill was not swapped out. It seemed they were limited on staff. Maybe our server went on break? Went home? Found someplace cooler to be? We had to go to the bar to ask for our check. Between the restaurant's heat, the smoking grill, and the lack of timely service, our dining experience dimmed. The food was good, the guy behind the bar was a fun loving character, and I can see how this place could have a vibrant energy on the right night. Every restaurant has its off days, and likely this was one of them. Other diners have had excellent experiences here. This place was such a disappointment. We went on a Wednesday night at 8:40. We paid for an Uber to get there anticipating that we would have some beers or soju with dinner. We were turned away at the doors by an employee who told us that the owner decided to leave early that night and no one else could cut the meats for orders. Neither the website or Yelp was updated to reflect the early closure, the posted hours that day were supposed to be 12p - 9:30p. No sincere apology or discount offered if we returned just, "sorry, nothing we can do about it." As someone who spent 24 years in upper management in the entertainment industry, it blows my mind that no one else is trained to step into a role that literally keeps the doors open. This is inconsiderate to guests, poor customer service and unacceptable. There are too many other Korean bbq establishments in the area to give this a second chance. I'll spend my money somewhere that is more considerate to their guests. read more

Really solid kbbq place. Service was excellent; everyone was very nice and attentive. There's plenty of parking and seating. Though it is a small restaurant so when there's a lot of people it gets really smoky and hot inside the restaurant. The staff even had to open the doors to air out the place. Aside from that, there were plenty of meat and side options. The meat was also nice and fresh. They also definitely don't skimp on how much meat they give you and it's nice that they make sure your meat is cooking properly. I also thought it's rare to see the owner to be helping out and attending to customers, so it was also nice to see that he cares a lot about his business! Definitely would come again! read more

Pros: parking is easy, location isn't hard to get to. Service from the owner is really fun and exciting, you can tell he really loves his job. He also was thoughtful enough to teach us how to cook the beef, and would come by every now and then to torch our meet. The banchan is good, I love their kimchi as it isn't too sour. The open flame really makes a difference in the taste of the meat, and I really enjoyed the bbq portion. Cons: ventilation is terrible. So bad my eyes started to hurt from all of the smoke. Steamed egg is probably the worst one I've ever had. It kind of had a burnt taste on the edges but every thing else had no flavor whatsoever. We came right at opening, so in my opinion, the bathrooms should be clean and well stocked. There wasn't any toilet seat covers though. Luckily we had a lot of space on our table, because they would come to our table to get more orders and what not, but never pick up the empty serving plates from the meat. As much as I appreciate they wash their lettuce, it's like they don't shake the water off it and they just throw it onto the plate with a lot of water still on it. I'm visiting for the second time, and I remembered this place having some of the best meat I've ever had at a KBBQ restaurant. The cuts were high quality and not overloaded with fat. For some reason, I just never made it back here; probably because the Promenade area isn't usually along our route. Coming here tonight genuinely brightened my day. I had just finished a long shift and a commute, and all I wanted was a good, comforting meal. My nutritionist told me yesterday need to significantly increase my protein intake to help reduce muscle loss related to my autoimmune thyroid condition. KBBQ seemed like the perfect choice; lots of protein without a lot of unnecessary junk. On my way home, I stopped at two other KBBQ restaurants. Apparently, I was unaware of the unspoken rule that some places don't serve parties of one on weekends. One restaurant even had me wait 25 minutes before telling me they wouldn't seat a solo diner during the weekend. Unfortunately, my husband is currently deployed, so being a party of one isn't exactly a choice for me right now! Normally, dining alone doesn't bother me at all, but today it got to me. I was exhausted and simply wanted a comforting meal. Being turned away after waiting 25 minutes just because I by myself was the last thing I needed. When I called this restaurant, the owner or manager immediately answered and was incredibly friendly. He explained that they offer entrée and plate options for guests who aren't doing the all-you-can-eat menu. I honestly don't understand why more restaurants don't offer this. I know the food industry is competitive and businesses have to make money, but having options for solo diners makes such a difference. When I arrived, I received wonderful service right away, and there was no wait, but they were full. The owner or manager recognized me as the person who had called earlier and went out of his way to make me feel welcome since we found out we're from the same area. He even added a little surprise to my order simply out of kindness. The entire staff was friendly, professional, and attentive. In an area with no shortage of restaurants, I want to give this place the credit it deserves, not only for the excellent food, but for the heart behind the business. Today, I'm especially grateful for the kindness and generosity shown to me. You never know what someone may be going through, and a simple act of thoughtfulness can make a bigger impact than you realize. His kindness truly lifted my spirits after a long and difficult day. They must've changed ownership since the last time I came (which was years ago) but boy was I pleasantly surprised!! My favorites were the LA Short Ribs, the tofu soup, ALL the banchan!!!! and the staff were fantastic! Being a former server, I am highly critical of those who serve our table. You can ask ANY server and they will gladly get it for you! And then there was a guy who entertained us with his cute antics like a human disco ball with lights then finishing off breaking a brick with his hands! While visiting the in-laws, we got a lunch in without the kiddos! Stopped in for some KBBQ and we were so pleased with our choice! This is a MUST GO if in the Temecula area and was excellent to satisfy our grilled meat cravings. The lunch AYCE special is such a great value with huge portions of meats! Their banchan had all the best options which included kimchi, cucumber kimchi, fish cake, japchae and potato salad. We got brisket, pork belly and beef belly to start and each were excellent quality. Couldn't even order a full second set but got beef belly and spicy bulgogi. The staff was excellent! Our server was very kind and attentive making sure we had enough food ordered and replaced any banchan we were running low on. The owner came by and showed us better grilling techniques for the beef belly and used his blow torch! It was our first time here. My family and I came on a Saturday afternoon, was seated immediately. The service was good! The servers were attentive, and the owner was friendly, energetic, came by our table as we finished our meal. The meat quality was decent and all cuts were very thin. The grill setup was a wire mesh over a gas flame, and unfortunately, our fire was only active on one side. I've been to many KBBQ places and have experienced working as a cook, but this was one of the most difficult grills to cook meat on, especially when we enjoy beef belly and pork belly. The heat was inconsistent, burning edges while leaving other parts uncooked. The gray oil residue left on the plates, made the food less appetizing for us. That may come down to personal preference as many may enjoy charred, smoky KBBQ. We even tried the beef back rib and squid, but neither cooked properly. Additionally, the restaurant lacks ventilation. There was a lot of smoke build up and it became really warm inside. It's not the cleanest environment but understandable. Since it was our first visit, it would have been helpful to know about the available side items that weren't listed on the menu. We had to ask to find out they offered sesame oil, chili sauce, ssamjang, and salad. This was our first and last visit. We ended our meal early and felt that we definitely didn't get the value we expected. read more

First I want to say that service was great! There was no wait for our party of 6 and we were seated right away for lunch. All servers were pleasant and eager to please. The meats came out fast and were put on the grill quickly. But the meats were all thinly sliced with a lot of fat and so when they were placed on the wire mesh grill, they immediately scorched to a burnt char, while some parts of the meat was still undercooked. These slices were so fatty that it caused the fire to flame too high. Unfortunately when asked if they served meats cut other ways, the only other option was a bone rib. It's too bad they didn't serve cut pieces as well as the thin slices. Also, each table is partitioned by acrylic dividers that especially kept the heat inside the booth and limited the smoke ventilation. Because of this, we were really hot and claustrophobic and negatively impacted our experience. Lots of potential here with better ventilation and a variety of cut meats could really make a difference. read more

One of the BEST KOREAN BBQ restaurants I've come across in the Temecula area. It's in the same shopping center with ShoGun I believe but it's on the opposite side of the center. Just behind the mall's movie theater. It has been years since I'd been here. It was not as memorable back then as it was not a common find for Korean bbq in the area. My friends brought our holiday group here last week and I am blown away what a transformation the restaurant was from what I remembered. Such a FUN and LIVELY place to enjoy some delicious char-grilled m-over an open grill/fire BBQ!!!! The flavors that seep into the meat from the char, the fire, it's amazing! Our hosts and their staff are fun and so energetic!! Super lovely music, bright lights and staff interact with our group throughout our meal. The flames below the grill are also met with the staff's flames as they char the meat over the grill. Such a fun place to dine with a group young or old. Banchan was wonderful. A great assortment of banchan that also included japchae. Spicy rice cakes has the perfect blend of sweet and spicy flavors. Their steamed egg is flavorful and the spicy tofu -soondoobu was wonderful as well. There wasn't an item that wasn't thoroughly enjoyed. My husband and I decided to give this place a try and we're so glad we did. The place looks unassuming, but it totally gives you a more relaxed, bar/hangout vibe - which we really liked. Service was really quick and attentive, and everyone was so nice. I think the owner was there tonight and he frequently walked by each table to check in and also helped torch up some of the meat to get a nice char. We opted for the AYCE option A, and the meat quality is great here. We've been to two other KBBQ spots in the area (which we won't name) and concluded the quality of the meat and flavor is so much better. Granted, their menu isn't super extensive - but quality trumps quantity. Their side dishes are super tasty and flavorful. My only gripe is that I wish they had more options for sides (radish paper, mushrooms, onion, etc.) but the sides they offer are still pretty solid. They definitely don't skimp on their kalbi either and their sweet kalbi marinade is really good! We'd definitely come back whenever we're craving kbbq again! read more

She found this little gem, and wow, what a great find! The place is small but cozy, and right away we were greeted with big smiles. Our waitress asked if it was our first time (it was), and she seemed genuinely happy we came in. She took the time to explain the menu, they have AYCE, a family combo, and à la carte options. We went with the $24.99 lunch AYCE and it was totally worth it. The meat selection was perfect. The bulgogi was hands down one of the best I've ever had. The pork belly? Fantastic. The beef belly? Great cut, flavorful but not too fatty. Now, the sides deserve their own paragraph. The potato salad was probably one of the best I've ever had (no exaggeration). The cheesy corn was spot on, and every side dish was seasoned perfectly, not too salty or vinegary like some places. They also have two house sauces for the meat, one they've been making for over 20 years, a teriyaki with jalapeño. It's not spicy, just super flavorful. I could've poured it on everything. The service was awesome from start to finish. The owner checked on us several times, made sure we were happy, and even offered us a free dessert since it was our first time, such a nice touch. Overall, great ambiance, amazing food, and some of the warmest service we've had anywhere. If you're in the area (or even driving through), do yourself a favor and stop by. This was our first time trying this restaurant. My family heard about it so they wanted to give it a try. Apparently, it is a new restaurant that just opened. This restaurant is located in Temecula in a mini mall. Thankfully when we visited there was a place to sit when we arrived. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean and inviting. We didn't know what to expect, but the menu is clearly written with the different choices of meat and seafood that they offer. We were seated at one of the open tables, the staff came by and asked if we had any questions on the menu. Which we were just still trying to figure out. But we had decided to get combo 3 because we had 5 people in our group. It included shrimp as well. The sides were flavorful as well. The tofu soup was pretty good as well. The meat was a good variety. We got a big bowl of rice and the first set of meat to cook. The grill was turned on by the staff, but in between grilling the meat, the waiter had to come by and use a mini cooking torch to help the meat cook faster. Apparently, the grill that we have at the table does not have flame on one side of it. This was a little disappointing. Because it happened more than 2x during our dining experience. So we were having to wait for the meat to get cooked thoroughly with that mini torch. I hope that is something they'll get fixed because that is the whole dining experience grilling your meat on a grill that works thoroughly. Not sure if we'll be back. Really great food, but the service let us down. The owner is clearly a kind, genuine person who cares about his customers and that much is obvious. And the food? Flavor was all there, no complaints. But unfortunately the service has been on a steady decline over our several visits, and this last one really killed the mood. We came in as a group of four, excited to introduce two new friends to a spot my partner and I have enjoyed before. We were seated quickly and pretty much left to fend for ourselves. Our new server, a new guy we hadn't seen before, was visibly attentive to every other table but ours. Our plates came out at completely different times and we had to ask five times for spoons for our soup. It felt deliberate, though I can't say for certain. At one point I'm almost certain I caught him muttering something under his breath that sounded like "thank you for wasting my time." No one else caught it, but the overall energy from him was cold and dismissive from the moment we sat down. Something just didn't sit right with any of us, tbh he came off racist... we saw the difference in treatment with other groups. Worth noting, there's a server who's been there about five years and we've had him before and he's always been great. It's a shame because the restaurant has real potential. But if you're going to bring people here for the first time, you'd hope the service matches the food. I don't think we'll be coming back. read more

I moved to menifee last year and haven't been sure where I can get some good quality KBBQ. We tried DPoong and this is now my new favorite spot! The sides were so good and the meat felt premium. It was delicious!! The vibes were immaculate. I take all friends here for Korean BBQ. I love that it's not an AYCE restaurant, so you get to pack and take home all the leftovers. They serve a ton of food for the combo options and you may ask for more side dishes/condiments, such as kimchi and potato salad. I highly recommend the beef options. My favorite is the spicy beef, while my daughter loves the brisket. My friends didn't like their pork options. The servers are incredibly friendly and accommodating. Fun and upbeat atmosphere. We came here today as part of my husband's birthday celebration and unfortunately left a little disappointed. We ordered the lunch special for two adults and two kids. The owner was very nice and friendly, and overall the meats we did receive were good quality and tasted great. That said, there were a few service issues. We didn't receive water until we asked for it, and we never received the rice that was supposed to come with our meal. They also limit you to three meats per round, which wasn't a huge issue on its own, but a couple of the meats we ordered never made it to our table. The biggest downside, though, was the ventilation. By the time we left, we all smelled heavily of smoke. I ended up with a headache by the time I got home and had to shower because the smoke smell was so overwhelming. It honestly took away from the overall experience. Maybe it was just the table we were seated at, but the ventilation definitely needs improvement. We would be willing to give them another try because the owner was kind and the food itself was good, but I really hope they address the ventilation and tighten up the service. read more

They offer AYCE but we weren't in a stuff-your-face kind of mood so we ordered the combo meal. The combo comes with 4, 5, or 6 types of meat plus a soup. You also get a huge bowl of rice and all the banchan you want. We got the 5 meat combo which was more than enough for 3 adults. All of the meat was great quality and the soup was fantastic as well. Service was great. Both the owner and all the servers were incredibly attentive. They regularly came by our table to see if we needed anything and were super friendly. The owner is hilarious, he has such a great personality and he definitely enjoys being there. The atmosphere is definitely reminiscent of a LA/OC kbbq joint. It's on the small side, no frills, but they do have some cool arcade games to keep the kids entertained and had the TV on (SpongeBob was on and my toddler was totally immersed). I would definitely recommend calling in to get on the wait list as it's not a huge restaurant and it's fairly busy. The wait for a table on a Friday at 4pm was 1 hour. Overall, such a great find in Temecula! And it's a short walk to Handel's if you have enough room for dessert. read more

We discovered this Korean place from friends whom have been recommended this place. It is tucked away in Winchester mall area. When you walk in, there is grills to the left and right and a whole section of video game machines to play while you wait. The place smells like Korean bbq and gets you ready for the meal. Their menu has a few options to pick from including cuts of meat and type of meal. We picked the beef from the first option. A very cool feature is they let you take home any left overs. As our meat arrived we got numerous side dishes and began our cooking journey. Everything came out delicious, and we ordered a couple additional sides. The prices for the deals are absolutely worth it, as we had a bunch of left overs. The service was impeccable, and the owner even came out to greet us. The whole experience was great.
