I'm sure it's a great lunch place, as well...there are many food stops here in Temecula for lunch and dinner...but save breakfast for Le Coffee. I'm not a coffee drinker...black tea for me. Today I had the Le Pancakes...sooo good and filling. I saw a few quiche dishes delivered to folks next to me...those look tasty, as well. So many great breads to choose from: danishes, croissant, and fruit filled rolls...difficult to explain. You just got come here several times and try everything. $1.50 for a refill on the simple black ice tea but the refill on the house coffee is free. For this dumb thinking, 3 stars. This is the HAUTE spot in Temecula for breakfast or lunch. A very comfortable well appointed facility, which is only getting better when their beer and wine license goes through. There's plenty of outdoor/indoor seating . The pastries are the BEST that I've had in the Temecula area and the staff is always quite charming and lovely. And the crêpes?-simply divine! On my last visit, I had a pistachio croissant and today I had a wonderful "crepe au sucre" with their homemade crème fraîche that was out of this world! Every dish that was flying out of the kitchen was expertly plated and simply gorgeous and desirable. The Cortado is very good as well. This was my first time here & for me the set up was confusing. You initially place your order at Le Coffee Shop (there was a line!) but you are seated next door at Le Bistro. Fortunately, we found a table to accommodate all eight of us. It's not a very big area but it's neat & tidy. Decor was rather simple but charming . Located off the main strip of Downtown Temecula, this is a hidden gem, mainly for the food. The decor is simple and modern. It seems to be a take out coffee shop. Service was great. They were pretty much out of pastries, but they did have some delicious looking butter croissants. I saw one girl coming out of there with Ginny's hot chocolate that looked so delicious. I came here on a Sunday morning, ordered coffee and breakfast. Food and drinks were okay, not terrible BUT I am reviewing this place based on their service. They brought out a veggie omelette when we ordered a bacon omelette. When I corrected the server, he said he couldn't take it back because it'd be at a lost for them and that we'd have to order a brand new plate. When we tried to explain that that's their mistake he became very argumentative and adamant that is their restaurant policy. I then asked for a manager and apparently our server is the manager because he's the owners son. He is so rude and would NOT back down, started yelling at me in front of many other patrons in the restaurant and still never ever brought us what we ordered. Food came out fairly quickly and they bring everything to your table. I will say it is kinda pricey considering the portion sizes of the actual hot food items, but the food is good. My wife and I are local first responders here in Temecula, my wife is five months pregnant and we were really looking forward to bringing our family, who were visiting from Michigan and Oklahoma, to Le Coffee. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. From the moment we arrived, we felt that we were treated very rudely and without much basic courtesy or respect. The way we were spoken to and treated made what should have been a nice family outing uncomfortable and frustrating. We are locals and genuinely wanted to support a local business, especially while sharing one of our local places with family visiting from out of town. Instead, we left feeling unwelcome. We completely understand that restaurants can be busy and that everyone has difficult days, but there is still a way to treat customers with kindness and respect. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here. We won't be returning, and we would encourage the management to take a serious look at how customers are being treated because my wife was not only personally attacked but left in tears over the way she was spoken to. We paid for an $8 coffee and left without a coffee because they handed my wife's order to another customer. Unfortunately, my wife was unable to drink the other customers coffee (which was the resolution suggested by the employee) because she is lactose intolerant and unable to drink caffeine. We were advised that if we wanted the issue resolved, we should pay for another coffee order entirely. read more
