I came here with my sister, mom, and son for brunch. My mom is a handicap placard holder and unfortunately all the handicap parking spots were taken. Ezra was so helpful and found us a spot upfront. His helpful gesture set the tone for the rest of our visit which was a pleasant experience. Keanu was friendly and patient with us as we moved from the outside to the cave. The food and drinks did not disappoint. I enjoy non-alcoholic drinks but decided to share the mimosa flight with my sister. It was amazing! I would definitely order it again. Make sure to have a sweater or coat available for the cave as it can get pretty cold. If I could make changes, it would be the size of the tables. Our table was extremely small. While visiting Temecula we dropped in at Oak Mountain Winery. With its picturesque views of their beautiful rolling vineyards, contemporary wine tasting rooms, and amazing subterranean dinning area. This is definitely a culinary and wine connoisseur destination. The winery has knowledgeable Sommeliers including Eric who walked us through the vineyard's blends. Each wine we tried was well balanced and harmonious, with components working together to allow the flavors and aromas to shine through. Excellence selections! We've been members at Oak Mountain Winery for several years, and unfortunately, this is not a review I expected to write. A few months ago, we had a disappointing experience that we shared with the winery. To their credit, they responded and acknowledged the issues. Based on that, we decided to give them another chance--and even brought friends with us, expecting a much better experience. Unfortunately, it wasn't. From the moment we arrived, we were repeatedly ignored while trying to check in, despite staff being present and available. Even after being seated in the cave restaurant, there was still no effort to acknowledge or assist us. It felt like we were invisible. During our wine pickup, the interaction was just as disappointing--staff focused their attention elsewhere, bagged our wine without communication, and walked away without confirming anything. At a basic level, this is about customer service--and it simply wasn't there. This wasn't a one-time issue, and after giving them another opportunity, it's clear nothing has changed. The wine itself is good, but at this point, it doesn't outweigh the consistently poor experience. As long-time members, that's a tough conclusion to come to--but it's the reality. Because of the steep decline of service, we will cancel our membership and will not be returning. read more

It was a beautiful evening to be at the winery. This was a s'mores evening with the kids and we were seated at a high top table with a fire pit so the children could toast their marshmallows. First we ordered chimichurri fries and truffle gnocchi along with fries for the kiddos. The gnocchi was delicious and rich, full of flavor. The chimichurri fries were just as tasty as always. We ordered tiramisu bread pudding, I was disappointed, the bread pudding was toasted and burnt, I had to use a knife to cut through it. Needless to say I didn't finish it, but the ice cream and sauce were very good. The s'mores were fun and great! The kids really enjoyed themselves. Service was superb and the wines are very nice. I am thoroughly impressed with the service, the wine tour, our host, the well-maintained grounds and interior, the cleanliness of the wine area, restaurant, land, restrooms and seating areas. Everything is meticulously cared for and it shows! There is definite pride in their property/winery. The wine tasting tour had generous pours which included whites in the beginning and reds towards the end of the tour, a lovely host and a cute charcuterie board that displayed pecans, a few cheese varieties, pecans, dates and crackers. It was perfect for one person. We also dined here as well and tried the lobster plate and salmon plate. They were both very good I think, but to be honest, I was super tipsy and don't remember much of it. lol I took my mom here for her birthday and we had so much fun. Really did not have a great experience here!!! It took us forever to get help and food took very long ! The food came out cold and it was a disappointment. We tried some wines and it was decent. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and it was a 2/5 since it was cold so it messed up the taste. Fortunately, my roy rogers was very good! Wanted a summer getaway so my boyfriend and I decided to spend a couple days in Temecula. We arrived on a early Wednesday afternoon and our first stop was Oak Mountain Winery. It was a beautiful winery with mountain and vineyard views. We did the wine tour through Groupon (half off for two) and I am so glad we booked a tour here. James was our tour guide. He was very personable, hilarious, and knows his history on wine and Temecula. I have been on wine tours before and never laughed this hard from our guide (and this was before our first tasting!). The tour included six tastings along with a meat and cheese charcuterie board. They had sage derby cheese which is one of my favorites and the chocolate paired well with the red wine. Towards the end of our wine tour, James offered to take pictures which I was happy because my boyfriend wouldn't have taken pictures if he didn't lol. Overall, JAMES will be the reason why we come back. I definitely would book another tour with him! read more

2nd visit- terrible! Very disappointed. We made reservations for lunch for seven people to celebrate my son's birthday. After appetizers, seven meals, and a couple of bottles of sparkling wine and drinks, we brought out cupcakes and were told by the waiter that outside food wasn't allowed. Cupcakes - after spending several hundred dollars on their food (which is crap) and alcohol! This was our second time here. The first time was for the tour of the "cave" which is really nothing at all but the person conducting the tour was lovely. We purchased several bottles to take home. This time we skipped the over-priced, over rated tour and just did lunch. The food was mediocre at best and definitely overpriced but it was a convenient meeting place as some of us are about an hour or so north and some are an hour or so south of Temecula. Service was SLOW but they sure brought the bill fast. Took forever for the waiter to take our order and then left ALL the dirty plates to pile up on the table. I was already irritated but the cupcakes were the icing on the cake. The waiter, Matt, told us we could take the cupcakes outside but not to tell anyone that he told us. (Btw, there was a bridal shower going on at the time. Am I suppose to believe they did not bring a cake or cupcakes??). Matt is lucky the bill with tip was already paid or he would not have gotten a dime. We did not buy any bottles to take home either. Plenty of places to spend my money in Temecula. We walked to the hostess stand, she directed us inside and said go up to the bar, there's multiple people to help us. After a few minutes they came up and said "we have to kick you out because this is for members only" So they directed us outside to the lawn or another covered areas. I can't believe I haven't written a review yet for Oak Mountain! Always a lovely time having lunch with family and friends at The Cave Restaurant. A few weekends ago, we invited a group of our friends to join us for lunch here and to say they enjoyed the entire experience was a vast understatement. The sweet relief of the temperature control restaurant during a blazing hot summer heat was welcome to all. From the time that they sat down and ooh'ed and awe'd at the intimate table set up for us amongst barrels of wine, to admiring the little wine tree with tastings of red and white then indulging in delectable food and dessert, it was nothing short of perfect. What we had: A few of us had ordered the chimichurri fries which were a big hit: Seasoned fries, grilled tri-tip, chimichurri, cilantro and queso fresco. Yum. Oak Mountain Charcuterie: An assortment of artisan cheese, meats, fig jam, fruits and nuts. Always a crowd pleaser. Cave Burger: Beef & Brisket Patty, lettuce, tomato, carmelized onions, bacon, garlic aioli and cheese on a brioche bun: we had ordered it medium well and it was cooked to perfection. Pepperoni Flat Bread: the balance between the sweet of hot honey and pepperoni tickled the taste buds. Seared Ahi and Green Bean Salad: our vegan pal enjoyed this and scarfed it down in record time. Ribeye with a side of lobster: one of our couple friends said how delicious this was and filled the two of them up plenty. Desserts: We ordered all of them to share: The Tiramisu Bread Pudding was my favorite; a warm, hefty slice of bread pudding topped with a tiramisu glaze and vanilla ice cream. Good Lord it was decadent! I shall be getting that again next time. Coconut Creme Brulee: Creme Brulee with toasted coconut flakes...nice and light. Cave Trio: little cups off oreo/coffee and lemon custard mouse. This was tasty Churro Cheesecake: one of the girls absolutely loved this one: cheesecake wrapped in a tortilla, dusted with cinnamon/sugar, topped with vanilla ice cream. We came up after looking them up online. Was excited to checkout The Distillery, sadly it is not open midweek. We ate lunch here, highly recommended the tri-tip sandwich. We had to leave headphones on our son because he did not like the loud music. It took a while for our waiter to get to us and a while for the food, make sure to give it time. I think it was about 15-20 min each. We ended up ordering the fried chicken and cave burger with chimchurri fries. Food overall was good. It was a neat experience to eat in a cave. I had purchased a Groupon for someone for Christmas and we decided to go out on a Saturday and make an afternoon of it. The tour was nice and there is a lot of history to learn about the winery. The space itself it beautiful, great views of the surrounding area and tons of seating outside. There are a few spaces from a members space (which is perfect for parties), outdoor seating with a sort of pop up mobile wine/beer truck, inside wine tasting, restaurant, and even a speakeasy of sorts. The coolest part we felt was the cave. There is some seating inside for dining in between the wine barrels and it is nice and cool and just an overall cool experience and space. We received a wine taste of choice upon arrival (sparkling pineapple coconut was my favorite) and from there had reserved seating with a mountain view where we got some history and white wine tastings. We then moved into the cave for a brief history and tour to a private dining room where we were greeted with a small bites plate (fruit, chocolate, cheese, and meat) and red wine tastings. Our guide was very nice. The tour was about 10 people so it was small and perfect. It was quite bust for a random Saturday in May. We bought a bottle of wine which fell through the paper bag on the way out to the car. They gave us 20% off another bottle and placed in a better bag (which I feel sturdier bags should be used to begin with). Overall we had a nice time and would like to go back to try the food and speakeasy. They have a complimentary valet but there was plenty of parking so I don't really think there is a need to valet. read more

We thought there would be a bit more food on our tour, if we did it again we'd plan a meal in the restaurant before or after the tour. They should give some incentive to dine connected to the meal. FOOD PREP: Looked good. FOOD QUALITY: Have to assume it is good, did not see any unhappy customers. LIBATIONS: Wine, lots of wine on our tour. As I try not to drink I did my best and did not see spitting options. To be honest none of the wines seemed special but for what it is and where it is they were fine and this is not an easy business. We did not come there to experience finding the best wine, we came for the experience and were not disappointed one bit. WAITSTAFF: Wow, our tour host was incredible, she was entertaining and informed even when she was soft selling. I lived near the Napa giants and have visited some of Europes best so not fair to compare and I do not think they are saying otherwise. It was nice not to find the stuck up wine snobs here. OVERALL VALUE: Excellent, where can you visit where everyone is happy? Yes we all enjoyed some wine and laughs and met some super nice people. TIP: Do the Tour, I believe there is a Groupon deal at times that makes it about $50 per person, well worth it. Plan a meal but you need to make reservations for both. I am writing because I am extremely upset about what happened at the Easter brunch and egg hunt yesterday at Oak Mountain Winery. We brought our family and grandchildren expecting a fun and safe event for the kids, but the egg hunt was very disorganized and upsetting for the younger children. The announcement initially said the egg hunt would be separated by ages, starting with the youngest up to 3 years old. However, shortly after that it was opened to all ages at the same time. This caused a large crowd of older kids rushing into the same area as the smaller children. The eggs were not scattered around but instead dropped in one area, which created a chaotic rush of kids running and pushing. According to my 6-year-old granddaughter, a bigger child ended up on top of her during the scramble. She was very scared and started crying. As a grandparent, it was heartbreaking and very upsetting to witness. What made this even more frustrating is that we spent about $500 for our family to attend this brunch and event, yet the experience was very unpleasant. The brunch itself was not worth the amount we paid, and the poorly organized egg hunt made the entire experience even more disappointing. An event meant for families and small children should be organized in a way that protects younger kids. What happened felt unsafe and poorly managed. Many of the smaller children did not have a fair chance, and the situation became overwhelming and frightening. I am very disappointed and honestly quite upset about how this was handled. I hope Oak Mountain Winery will take this feedback seriously and make sure future children's events are properly organized with clear age groups, eggs properly scattered, and better supervision so situations like this do not happen again. read more

Very romantic intimate setting. You actually eat hundreds of feet inside of a cave in the side of a mountain at the winery. My wife liked her halibut. My chicken sandwich and chili were ok. 2025 tasting at Oak Mountain Winery, which is a dog friendly winery. Pleasant staff who explained the wine tasting was $30 for non-members. The cave is unique and has a restaurant at the back of it. You can take a cave tour, book a reservation for best timing, and the tour is also wheelchair accessible. Much overdue review but here it is. First and foremost, shout out to Emma our waitress for making her best efforts to make my partner's birthday dinner at the Cave a pleasant one. There were many variables outside of her control but she went above & beyond to make the best experience possible. When we ordered food, our Chimichurri Fries appetizer came out right away and we devoured it right away. It was delectable, just wish it wasn't as skimpy on the tri-tip. For our mains, my girl had the salmon, son had the grilled cheese & fries, & I had the tri tip sandwich. Their food came out in a timely manner, but for some reason my food didn't come out until Emma came back to check on us and realized that I still hadn't received my sandwich. She apologized profusely, I could infer she was genuinely empathetic about the situation and she comped me for my sandwich. I came here with a bunch of friends on a Groupon voucher for the cave tour and tasting. Finding the spot, getting parking, and checking in were all a breeze. We were greeted with a glass of their brut, which I thought was really refreshing and slightly sweet. I made a note to buy a bottle at the end. The tour itself was really fun. All the little tables in the cave were very cute, and it made me want to come for a meal another time. Our wine tasting in the private room was a nice touch as well. Although we all liked the wines we tried, the sage cheese was the highlight of the experience, and this is something that I need to buy ASAP.
