I really enjoyed my wine tasting at Bella Vista. There is probably my favorite winery in Temecula for red wine. The winery itself is outdated and is in need of a complete makeover (it's in the works). We were lucky enough to be there when there was live music so we really enjoyed our experience because of it. They also showed us their speakeasy...yes, they have a speakeasy on the weekends -looks view but it was pretty empty when we were there. Bella Vista winery is really coming along. The wine tasting room has been revamped a little with some updates of new light scones and a pretty chandelier over the bar area. The front entrance has also been freshened up. The biggest update they have done lately is the addition of a speak easy. The entrance is through a hidden door behind the bookshelf. Inside is dark, warm and cozy, with brick walls, high wood ceilings, a piano at one end (for evening performances) and a small bar at the other end. Picture a Friday night, sipping on a cocktail, listening to the music, and snacking on pizza that they serve from their kitchen. They aren't able to serve distilled spirits just yet. For now it's wine based cocktails. They are still working on the upper area wine tasting room. This is where the beautiful views are. They offer a few Somerset wines, including a $60 bottle of buttery Chardonnay. Too pricey for me, but I'm sure it's good. Today my glass of wine was a Bella Vista Syrah. It was pretty good. Great overall experience and a great value! Purchased a Groupon months ago and made my return after a great first experience. Janet was very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. The Groupon is a great deal for anyone looking to "get into" wine tasting, but the wine servers are a value in and of themselves. They know what they are serving and a little conversation will lead you into the best experience; with good wine, atmosphere, and company. If you're in the area, this place is a fun stop amongst many others to choose from. They also have a great selection of snacks that pair well with the variety of wines. Wine here was ok. They were out of a lot of their popular wines which I wanted to try. We will have to come back to try them. The staff member who did our tasting was very nice and welcoming. She was very attentive even when it started to get busy. This place inside was a bit dark and dusty but they are renovating the top level which has beautiful views and a nice pond. Came to the winery in April to use a Groupon tasting for two that our Secret Santa got for us. The winery is tucked away just off the main road. My wife and I stopped by on our way to Legoland. We stopped by right at opening at 11am on a Thursday and beat the morning rush. The tasting room has a nice and comforting ambiance. You can stand at the bar, or relax in the comfortable swivel seats. Our 3 year old enjoyed the seating and we didn't have to worry about him roaming around or getting into trouble. I am a sweet wine guy, and I don't drink much. If you like sweet wines, the 2022 Rozmaring is an absolute must try... it was so good we actually went home with 3 bottles haha. read more

Had an amazing wine tasting experience at Bella Vista! We booked via Groupon and it was an extremely affordable tasting that came with 6 pours from their menu and their sister winery menu. We especially enjoyed the Symphony and White Cabernet from their menu. The selection was very expansive as well - there's a lot of options for folks that enjoy different wines! We went on a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed, thankfully it was very spacious and clean. The staff here are also extremely friendly and always walking by to make sure you're topped up. Highly recommend bringing your own crafts and snacks since they have tables. The view above the winery was also beautiful - it's a great overlook and drinks are also served above. If you are looking for the winery that is not cookie cutter, this is your place. Great upper level outdoor area, with amazing green space, views and a pond. You feel like your on top of the world out there. The staff is very helpful and Matt, aka...dj Matt Dizzle keeps it light and fun. This winery is one of my most favorite to visit. It is under new ownership and she is doing an absolutely fabulous job in reinventing the oldest winery in the valley. Bella Vista has a variety of wines that are all taste worthy but my favorite is their Tempranillo. They have the best staff ever, Mat is a gem and I wish I could remember the other names but each and every interaction we have had with staff here has been memorable. They also have a SpeakEasy that is very cool and worth the visit, but don't forget to head upstairs and sit alongside the lake and enjoy a glass. read more

Found this gem on Groupon. The price was spectacular for what you get! The building at the bottom of the hill is where the wine tasting and speak easy is held. It's so open and spacious. Then at the top is a pond and an amazing view along with turf and chairs to sit back and relax. We had an amazing hostess that knew her wine and had great conversation. The entire place felt welcoming. They are in the process of starting renovation I believe of the building up top of the hill so this place will become even more beautiful. I cannot wait to return! We went to the speakeasy here, so I cannot review the wines since we Didn't do a tasting. The speakeasy was cute and had someone playing the piano. The drinks were a limited list of wine/bubbly based cocktails which were enjoyable. They were able to make a couple mocktails for those who couldn't drink! Will def be back! read more

We were gifted a wine tasting from Groupon and were really excited to check out Bella Vista Winery. Unfortunately, we were left extremely disappointed. We went on a Saturday and the tasting room was crowded by a bus tour with only ONE person pouring drinks for the 20 people in the tasting room! Many people there were frustrated with the service. We stood there for 15min without being helped. It got to the point where we thought, this must be a joke ... It wasn't until the couple next to us spoke up and sent one of the employees our way because they noticed we'd been standing there for so long without any service. Once the tour left then suddenly all the employees appeared to help out so that was convenient timing ... Staffing was the biggest issue that effected our experience here. The winery itself was beautiful and picturesque. They had meats and cheese packs for purchase. Based on the service, I don't see myself returning. read more

We really love this winery a lot. We've been coming for over 7 years when the Hungarian older couple owned it and it was a little neglected but new owners have taken over and made it a complete gem. We love to go up to the lake for a picnic with our family and relax with a bottle of their Rose, Champagne or their roussanne which is so good . The owners have remodeled the tasting room and started to redo the upper lake area and it is SO nice. The bathroom is redone and they will soon be redoing the house on the property that burned a long time ago to a think a members area but it will be a while from what they told us. We recently had a little party for my friend at the upper part and it was so beautiful. They let us use some tables and host as long as we kept everything clean and bought bottles of wine. One of the guests became a member on the same visitI hope they will continue to let us do that. It was perfect. Went wine tasting for my birthday and this was our first spot. We had a Groupon for tastings and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. They have great detail about each wine we were tasting. Everything tasted great, but the last taster we had knocked our socks off by surprise: a dessert wine that tasted absolutely delicious that we had to get several bottles. Can't wait! As posted last time the new owners are the same ones as Somerset winery. They have done a remarkable job in renovating the winery. They have completely redone the restrooms and lower tasting room. They just added stairs to connect the upper lake area and the lower tasting room. They plan to also have a permanent upper tasting room in the future ( they currently have a portable tasting room at the lake) . They have different food trucks and music on the weekends. The view is beautiful . The entrance feels as if you were walking into a 5 star resort. There is a small pond at the top surrounded by trees. Good place to unplug yourself and connect with nature. Our server Robbie was really knowledgeable on the wine. Very charismatic and friendly. You can tell he enjoys his job. You feel welcomed and cared for. They want you to enjoy yourself. We visited for wine tasting and we were the first ones. Service was good until just 2 other parties arrived. Then the service went downhill quickly. We waited a long time for service. The view from the upstairs area is very nice and the only real positive. The wine is average at best. Unless it's discounted, I would recommend skipping this winery. read more
