Despite the guest-crush, all staffers we encountered were knowledgeable, courteous, efficient and good listeners. Qualities which made our visit an absolute pleasure! Our family had an amazing experience at Leoness Cellars! We were visiting from Florida, and for many of us, this was our first winery, vineyard, and wine tasting experience. I accidentally mixed up our reservation time, and although we arrived late, the team was incredibly accommodating and still gave us a wonderful hosted tasting. We truly appreciated their kindness and flexibility. Our host, Evan, was outstanding! He was personable, knowledgeable, and made everyone feel welcome from the moment we arrived. He answered all of our questions, shared fascinating insights about the wines, vineyard, and winemaking process, and made the experience both fun and memorable. We had matching family trip shirts with a checklist of activities for our California vacation, and we asked Evan if he'd help us check off our winery experience. 4.25. Would love to rate my experience 5 but the waitstaff was very slow. The food was delicious and we enjoyed our meal very much! But we constantly had to look for our waiter to ask for menus, dessert, to pay. I had the cioppino which was delicious and the truffle fries, also very tasty! Recently, I went to Leoness Cellars for the second time. My friend, who is a member, organized a small luncheon with six wine-loving women for her birthday. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Leoness is really beautiful. The members lunch area overlooks the hills and vineyards. They have an adorable tasting room and gift shop[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is also dog friendly. I even saw dogs in the indoor restaurant[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I really enjoyed the wines. Last time, we tasted several reds, and I remember really enjoying the zinfandel. This time, our group shared a few bottles of Syrah. The Syrah was dry, yet had lots of flavor. I really liked that they allowed my friend to use her membership tastings so us ladies could drink free glasses at lunch. She also was able to use her membership bottles so that we could drink at lunch without a corkage fee. The service was great, and our server checked on us regularly, with guests arriving at different times. I enjoyed my wild mushroom flatbread and salad. Along with the wine, it made for a perfect lunch. I definitely recommend Leoness if you are planning to visit Temecula. read more

Wow... I can't believe it's been 10 years since my last review, sorry Leoness and staff. Well, what I can say for sure is that it continues to be a great place to visit. Each time we've come, we've had such a wonderful time. The food is always delicious and their variety of wines are superb. We recently came and brought new friends and they loved it. I understand that a larger group can be a bit overwhelming for the servers so we always try to commend them and thank them for their patience. My husband surprised me with a weekend getaway in Temecula, and one of our favorite stops ended up being Leoness Winery. ALways amazing service from Sara. Love their bacon parm fries ad mushroom pizza. Amazing! I only get their two sweet wines. Both are amazing. Love the views here. Ambiance is eveything. My friend is a member and we love the premium seating we get. The grounds are awesome, however, the restrooms this time were disgraceful. The mats were flooded with water, they put silicone air fresheners over the drains and it reeked of garbage and sewer inside! I almost threw up! I let the front desk know that they need to tend to that situaton. Luckily, as afraid as I was to use the bathroom before we left, the restroom smelled clean, although the mats were still soaked. Overall, they fixed the issue. This place is still one of my favorite places to visit. Great food and service. read more

My favorite winery in Temecula. The vibe is beautiful and food at restaurant is good! We came here twice the past weekend. Parking is tough in the weekend so recommend coming in weekday or early weekend. The first time we came we sat at the restaurant and ordered glasses of wine salad and duck fat liver dip. Both dishes were delicious and the Syrah was my favorite wine. For the tasting, they offer 5 one oz glass for $30. We loved the Zinfandel and the cab! On weekdays the member only Terrance is available foe nonmembers so we sat there for lunch on a Monday. The food is better at restaurants but the duck fat fries were delicious! Still consistently good. Last time I went we ended up waiting for a really long time to get seated, some days the staff is faster than others. The service when we were seated was much better. The food is usually pretty good but the fries last time were soggier than usual, they normally are very crispy. My family's favorite winery! Beautiful scenery, quality wines, delicious food, and very accommodating service. We always have such a fun time here and can spend a whole day laughing, soaking in the ambiance and enjoying each other's company. We try to make a trip here any time we visit, and my family are members so it's nice that we get free tastings and they get wine to take home that we can try more of. The seating is always full but it never feels too busy or crowded. Valet parking is available or there is also self-parking on the gravel lot in the back. I have a timeshare in Napa and have been to many wineries. This is local to me and one of the best I have ever been to. The food is very very good for the price. The wines are also very good. My favorites are the red blends. The port is expensive, but very good. I would prefer a sweeter port, but it is very well crafted. Our whole family of 12 people love this place and are members. My daughter took me here for a day out. I am in a wheelchair and they made every accommodation. They were so kind. She is a violinist and orchestra conductor/teacher and has played there, I believe. Anyway I saw a beaded purse that she loved in the gift shop. Lisa and the rest of the staff moved heaven and earth to make sure I could purchase it surreptitiously for her. Started morning here with friends from finger lakes region of NY whom enjoy wine tasting. This place was a hit with the views straight away. We were there at 11 and they weren't ready for us to have a tasting for another 40 minutes but they were very friendly and there was a shop and of course lovely venue. We had our tasting outside at the table and Serenity was lovely and served excellent red wines and an order of hummus which was delish. The only downside was my friends liked it so much nothing else compared! It was easy to get to and I will definitely return on my own again. Being outdoor on a nice sunny day with the right temperature hits the spot. Their food we have no complains, especially their truffle fries! The service has always been great! My friend Amy K bought a bunch of bottles here for the holidays and added me to her membership. I hadn't been here in a while and my husband and I came in for some tastings on a nice summery spring day. Unfortunately, we didn't have a great experience as the person pouring our wines that day was cold, judgmental and in short - just rude. We tried to take the polite route and kill her with kindness, but there was no thawing that icy exterior. She was extremely picky about the order we chose wines, didn't want to hear criticisms and treated us poorly. She made a face when I poured out their dry rose which I mentioned had a sour taste. We attempted to lighten it up and talked about traveling to South America and the wines they have there she just said, we don't have those at Leoness since only grow wines that grow well here! Okay, that ended our efforts of making any small talk. We were having a dinner party and wanted to pick up a few reds, but ended up leaving with 1. Picked up the other bottles at Danza on our way home. I also reached out to the winery on my own regarding my negative experience, but no one followed up. I will say that I have been here and had good experiences with other staff in their tasting room, so this experience could have been an anomaly. Also, as mentioned previously we had an outstanding tour with Holly which made us return to Leoness later. However, there are dozens of options in Temecula! I don't need to come back to this winery. Leoness is located on the DePortola wine trail and offers fabulous views, excellent food and good wine. However, let's get this out of the way first: parking here is a pain. Note: unless you're a Platinum Member, don't make the rookie mistake of pulling into the main entrance lot - it's only for Platinum (unless you're willing to pay $40 as non-Platinum or need to because of handicap access) and you'll be directed up the road to the dirt lot where you'll wish you hadn't worn nice shoes or white pants! It's dusty, full of gravel with no spaces indicated, and terrible to park and walk through to get to the winery or the restaurant! It's hard to believe that a winery of this caliber has a dirt parking lot! All that said, the tasting room itself is beautiful, wines are good (esp liked the 2020 Cinsault), and I enjoy their gift shop area. The restaurant is only open on weekends but there is a nice terrace menu from which you can order and enjoy on the patio/terrace area. The food is delicious - highly recommend the incredible fries which are made with duck fat and the DePortola Power Salad is excellent also. The Members Terrace is open to non-members Mon-Thurs., but only members on weekends. They recommend reservations and when we were members awhile back, it was annoying that they required everyone in your party to be there before they would seat you on the members terrace. So once you get past the parking, Leoness is a great winery and definitely worth the visit. read more
