I visited for dinner on 9/19/26 for the night after my birthday. The location is very beautiful with a rustic feel although I wasn't crazy about the gravel road up to the inn. Upon entry it gave a very old European yet semi modern vibe. Upon being seated near the bar the couch and chairs were not very comfortable and the table felt cramped. Marlene was our server for the night and provided excellent recommendations for both food and drinks. We ordered the empanadas (chicken and beef ) which were excellent; I preferred the beef. 2 drinks were ordered the Costa Azul which I didn't care for and El Platanero but I subbed out the brandy for bourbon which was really good. For the main entrees we ordered linguini Mariscos and sea bass Valencia with broccolini and machete potato. Both dishes had nice a presentation but were pretty bland and could've used salt and pepper or possibly rosemary to set it off. I had an amazing meal at Bolero in Europa Village, and I'm already trying to figure out when I can go back. The place has a great vibe, it's casual and relaxed, but still feels like you're somewhere special. We started with the calamari, and wow... I'm not sure what they're doing back there, but this might be the best calamari I've ever had. Crispy, not greasy, and ridiculously tender. I seriously considered ordering another plate and pretending it was for the table. The Salmon & Ahi Tuna Crudo was fantastic too. Super fresh, flavorful, and the kind of dish where you keep going back for "just one more bite." Then the Pot Pie Español showed up, and it was basically comfort food wearing a nice outfit. Flaky crust, rich filling, and absolutely delicious. The New York steak was another winner. It was cooked exactly how I like it, juicy, tender, and full of flavor. No complaints whatsoever. Service was friendly, attentive, and on point the entire time. Nothing felt rushed, and everything just worked. Bottom line: great food, great atmosphere, great service. We'll definitely be back. My wife and I recently celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary at Bolero, and the evening was nothing short of exceptional. From the warmth of the service to the remarkable quality of the food, it was a dining experience we will remember for a long time. Our server, Christina, was truly wonderful. She guided us thoughtfully through the menu, offered excellent recommendations, and took such genuine care of us throughout the evening. She checked on us often to ensure that we were enjoying each course, and when she learned that I'm a passionate foodie, she took a sincere interest in hearing my thoughts on the flavor profiles of the tapas and entrées we sampled. That kind of engagement made the experience feel especially personal. Even more impressive, she mentioned that it was her first day serving on her own -- something we never would have guessed, as she carried herself with grace, confidence, and professionalism throughout the meal. We were also grateful for Liz, who assisted at our table. We had asked about the bread served with two of our dishes, and she kindly took the time to find out who made it and even wrote the information down for us. That level of attentiveness and hospitality speaks volumes. As for the food, it was simply extraordinary -- without question, the best meal I have had all year. We began with the Organized Caesar, and since my wife and I have always believed that a great Caesar salad says a great deal about a restaurant, this was a wonderful place to start. Beautifully presented in jicama wraps resembling sushi rolls, it was both inventive and delicious. The finely chopped romaine, flavorful dressing, and perfectly seasoned croutons came together in a way that made the Caesar taste even more vibrant and pronounced. It was a memorable and refined interpretation of a classic. At Christina's suggestion, we then ordered the Berenjena, and it was superb. The interplay of flavors, paired with the eggplant and shishito peppers, was beautifully balanced and deeply satisfying. Next came the Garlic Shrimp, which was absolutely outstanding. The U-10 shrimp were cooked to perfection and served in a rich garlic-tomato sofrito accented with white wine and garlic, alongside impeccably toasted bread. Every element of the dish was executed beautifully. We finished with the Skirt Steak, prepared medium rare and served over crisp twice-fried potato cubes with chimichurri and romesco sauce. It was yet another exceptional plate -- expertly prepared, deeply flavorful, and a fitting finale to the meal. What made the evening especially striking is that my wife and I dined at Bolero about four years ago, and while we enjoyed it, it did not leave a particularly lasting impression at the time. This visit was an entirely different experience. Bolero has now earned a place in my Top 5 restaurants. I do not know who was in the kitchen that evening, but the chefs absolutely delivered a meal of the highest caliber. This place was really picked up since the opening of their Spanish offerings on site. For a week night it was absolutely packed. While service was always friendly and attentive the kitchen was exceptionally slow even for non paella items. We opted for the Bolero paella which is rather new with lobster tails. Flavor was on point as always and ask for their spicy home made salsa and chimicurri sauce (thank me later). Other stellar dish which is new this year is the bone marrow pot pie. I just had the best paella I've ever had here. It was flavorful, and you could taste the seafood flavors in every grain of rice. The seafood was cooked to perfection. This is where I celebrated my birthday dinner in 2024! We had reservations, but decided to eat earlier since we were already in the area. It wasn't too busy, so we were able to get seated right away. We shared a charcuterie board to start with. For drinks, I chose the refrescante mocktail and he got the Paso Doble Margarita and also a glass of 2018 Bodegas Ego "Goru Gold." We also shared the ceviche and some bread with burrata! Everything was tasty and we were getting full before the main course. The paella took about 30 minutes to come out and had big pieces of steak and shrimp! We were too full to finish, but saved room for ice cream and dessert! My sister, nephew and his girlfriend came out to visit and wanted to try a winery in Temecula. I don't drink alcohol, but I'm always down for some tasty food. Something we sorely lack in my hood is a really good Spanish tapas place, and I love going for tapas whenever the opportunity is there. I would recommend a reservation though because when we were leaving, it was packed with people! I can tell you just about everything was fantastic. We ordered the Brussels sprouts, which was more like the crispy separated leaves vs the whole sprout with pomegranate seeds, goat cheese, and balsamic. The crispy leaves are the best part! We also got the calamari, which was the perfect texture and flavor. Croquetas sometimes are a little dried out....not these. They were soft and tender with just the right amount of cheesiness from the manchego. The patatas bravas were crispy outside and so soft and delicious on the inside with that nice kick from the spicy coating. Our server was so friendly and welcoming and very knowledgeable with her recommendations. The pricing also was really reasonable and the portions for the tapas were good shareable sizes. This review is based off their breakfast brunch! They offer it until 1PM. My girls and I went on the weekend and I believe the price is about $60 per person. They offer an omelette bar, meat stations, a raw bar with ahi tuna slices, salmon poke, shrimp, and mussels, and some other hot food items and salads. From the buffet I loved their braised beef, mash potatoes, and empanadas. I would refrain from getting the salmon poke, as it was extremely fishy. It was a standard breakfast buffet with few gourmet items being a hit or miss. Lots of times people were in and out of stations, so I didn't bother to flag someone down for an omelette. The chips that came with it were hard to scoop into the crudo so we had to use our spoons to eat. 4/5 EMPANADAS ($22) - there are both chicken and beef flavors. They were crispy and I preferred the chicken. 4/5 CROQUETAS ($15) - the croquettes themselves were decent with a crunchy outside and soft potatoes inside. I especially liked the short ribs underneath. 3.5/5 LINGUINI DE MARISCOS ($42) - this was definitely our favorite dish. The sauce was flavorful and I liked the big shrimp and scallops. The cheesy bread was also nice to dip into the sauce. 4.5/5 BOLERO PAELLA ($75) - they say it takes 45 minutes but for us it only took 30. I liked the beef, lobster, and shrimp on top but the rice was a little soggy. I would've liked more socarrat (the crispy layer on the bottom) because there really wasn't much at all. 3.5/5 For drinks we ordered the smoke & mirrors ($18) and isla rosada ($18) which were both good. Finally got to use my wine membership at Europa Village and what better way than with dinner at the Bolero Restaurant. I made a reservation through OpenTable, which was quick and seamless. We arrived about 10 minutes early for our 7:45 PM reservation, checked in with the hostess, and were told we'd receive a text when our table was ready. Right on cue, at 7:48 PM, we got the notification. After checking back in, we were promptly escorted to our table. My first impression of the interior was a bit mixed. It's definitely a nice space, but the overall vibe felt slightly off. The layout seems like it would benefit from a more open concept the current flow makes it feel a bit informal. That said, the crowd is a blend of guests coming from tastings, hotel visitors, and locals just enjoying a night out, which might explain the atmosphere. Our server, Tina, took about 15-20 minutes to greet us and take our drink and appetizer orders. Once things got going, though, the experience improved significantly. The food was delicious definitely the highlight of the evening. We shared the empanadas and garnachas to start, both excellent. My in-laws ordered a dish with beans and sausage, while my partner and I went with the steak plate. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the chimichurri sauce really stood out. We paired dinner with a bottle of Tempranillo (my pick), which complemented the meal beautifully. As the evening wrapped up and closing time approached, we did feel a bit rushed to settle the bill. I mentioned my wine membership to Tina and provided my ID for verification. The check came back shortly after with the membership discount applied. The small plates were excellent, especially the crudo and calamari, but I failed to take pics. We often had to ask other servers for basic things like steak knives, condiments, and assistance because she was nowhere to be found. To make matters worse, one person in our group received an undercooked steak. After asking for it to be remade, it appeared to be the same steak that had simply been cooked longer instead of a freshly prepared meal. That was disappointing and raised concerns about food safety. Despite knowing we were celebrating, there was no acknowledgment of the birthday--not even an offer of dessert. By the end of the meal, we were ready to leave. The most upsetting part came while paying the bill. Christina asked where we were staying, and after we said Temecula, she asked if we were "all staying in one hotel room." The comment felt completely unnecessary, judgmental, and disrespectful. After the experience, it was difficult not to question whether assumptions had been made about our group. Every woman at our table is a person of color, and the difference between the service we received and the attention given to nearby tables was impossible to ignore. We came to celebrate a special occasion but left feeling ignored, uncomfortable, and disappointed. TLDR Bolero Restaurant in Europa Village is a popular restaurant for many visitors myself included. Was here about this time last year and ordered many seafood dishes which were mostly overcooked :( This time I decided to give Bolero the benefit of the doubt and give them another chance to redeem themselves. Therefore, as to not repeat last year's fiasco, I decided to sit outside their patio, ordered glasses of chilled Rosé and other delectables from the menu to cool off the hot Temecula Valley day. The croquetas are one of their signature Spanish appetizers. Presented with micro greens and edible flowers topped where the potato balls and the shredded beef, which were delicious and kind of filling. The charred octopus salad was also presented appealingly with fresh ingredients of cherry tomatoes, red onions, avocado. Prior to ordering this I asked the server if the octopus was prepared so it's tender and not too chewy, he assured me the octopus was tender. After attempting to eat two pieces, I found the octopus to be very chewy and if I had to chew any more I would hurt myself and get locked jaw. Additionally, the octopus was too spicy for my liking, therefore I found the dish inedible and sent it back to the kitchen. The staffer/waiter who resembled the mustache cherubic male figures in Spanish Artist Fernando Botero, was nice and offered to either redo the octopus salad or select something else, I opted for the latter, and chose the ahi tuna and salmon Crudo. I specifically instructed the staffer to make sure no chilies as my mouth was still on fire. He said he would make sure no chili would be on the Crudo. The Crudo was presented nicely as well and the slices of chili peppers were placed on side dishes. Upon eating the Crudo my mouth felt more intense heat and as I inspect the Crudo I noticed specks of chili pepper flakes! I can usually handle hot chili, but not lately as I had detoxed for a week and my senses were heightened to the point that the heat from the chili peppers were literally burning my tongue OUCHIE!! I was furious because I told the waiter to make sure no chilis. I sent that Crudo dish back and ordered a Creme Brûlée so the dairy can help cool off the burning sensation in my mouth. Then appears the Head Chef Hany Ali, who introduced himself, apologized for all the mishap. When I rejected the first dish due to overwhelming chili and specifically asked for NO Chilies on subsequent dishes, the waiter didn't seem to understand, because No Chili means No Chili. Mr Ali was sincerely apologetic and he asked to sit and chat. Turns out, he was the head chef at Four Seasons Beverly Hills adjacent. So after learning I'm from Beverly Hills, he understood my demanding perfectionist point of view. I showed him last years review where both the main entree fish dishes were overcooked and the mashed potatoes lacked flavor. Mr Ali then ordered me a dish of mashed potatoes, which after tasting it was superb. He said to contact him before I dine here again and he would personally cook my food. A nice offer and gesture from a well educated (was educated in a culinary school in Switzerland) and over qualified to be a head cook here. The platano cremè brûlée was presented with a sliced caramelized banana; platano is banana in Spanish. A few spoonfuls of this did help relieve my burning mouth from the hot chilies. Do note, the crispy hard caramel shell on top was kind of missing and according to Mr Ali, because it's the Spanish version :/ Nonetheless, this dessert was not too sweet, delicious. If the dishes were prepared without the chili peppers, I would have enjoyed it. But for the lack of attention by the staffer to my specific instructions, those dishes were inedible for me. I appreciate that effort Mr Ali made to try to quell the situation with his professional demeanor, he alone deserves a 10!! Sadly, I was still hungry but not eager enough to stay and give this restaurant another chance, because this was their second chance and it was their faux pas. This was my third visit here and it has been consistently great! The presentation on food itself is always beautiful and the flavor delicious. I was however disappointed with the Pastel de Chocolate. Although it was presented beautifully, it didn't have much stage presence as I thought it would. Our server checked on us frequently and our glasses of water filled. If there is one thing I could change with the restaurant, it would be the chair or table height. The tables are a little higher than usual and eating isn't at a comfortable position for me. I am petite so the table height is probably meant for average or tall height. It definitely isn't ergonomic in my opinion. My absolute favorite dish was the brussels sprouts. I wasn't expecting the sprouts petals (I should probably read the fine print), but was pleasantly surprised. The combination of Brussels sprouts, goat cheese, and the pomegranate jewels melting in your mouth, are just divine. I would come here again, but would make certain to find a better table. read more

This was the best restaurant food i've had in a while since moving from Orange County. Our server, Joseph was so very kind and helpful. He talked us through the chefs specials and assured us the food would be amazing. I am so glad we chose this establishment for our anniversary celebration. We chose to sit in the outdoor area and it was so nicely set up. We went around 7pm and as the sun was going down, we have amazing views of the sky, vineyards, restaurant set up, and soft lighting. The food we got was: Croquettas and calamari as our starters (and they came out very fast! Both were so amazing, couldn't get enough) Entrees were the skirt steak for me and my husband got a seafood pasta. Drinks were amazing as well! We really appreciated our time here. Food was absolutely delicious. We were a party of 4 and we ordered a bunch of dishes to share. Tami took care of us and gave us some superb recommendations. The brussel sprouts salad dish and the pulpo salad were so refreshing and tasty, and the skirt steak was absolutely delicious! A small paella can feed 4 people easily. It was huge. We had such a great time that I went again with my husband the next night and had another awesome dinner! We got the pulpo salad again (that's how much we loved it) and the bone marrow dish which was incredibly rich and delicious. It paired so well with the wine flight that our server chose for us. If we stayed in Temecula another night, I honestly would have come the 3rd night if I was able to get another reservation. read more
