Food was very mediocre, my kid got the churro French toast and nothing was churro about the French toast aside from 2 churros being on the plate. We sent back eggs that were supposed to be over medium and again they came out undercooked. The country fried steak seemed to be a premade frozen item that lacked flavor and was grisly. My wife barely ate any of it and we even told the server and her response was "oh sorry about that" not can we get you something else or even about the eggs we told her the second order was still undercooked. They still charged us for the country fried steak plate. Michelle was our server if I remember correctly. Probably won't be back, they just didn't seem to care about our feedback. $90 meal wasn't worth it. read more

A great place in Rancho California but their wait staff could use some work. We found this place thru Yelp and read the great food reviews and wanted to check it out. The place smells amazing even from the outside. However once they seated us it took forever for them to finally have someone take our order. And then another even longer wait after that as they lost our order. However the prices were good and the food when it finally arrived was well worth the wait. We tried two different soups, a sandwich and a burger. All delicious. They brought up a free glass of wine to South our nerves which was kind of them. I highly recommend you check this place out but make sure to keep track of the staff as you might get your order lost. read more

We stopped by on our way to do a winery p. I love exploring new places and getting out of my comfort zone. So after doing other errands and having a very empty stomach, ended up here. The good: the food was delicious. The flavors were very complimentary and exceeded my expectations. The bad: the wait time from our order being taken to food arriving was far far longer than expected, especially considering how slow it seemed as it was towards the end of their business day. Another group was observed also growing in curiosity as to why it was taking so long to get our meals. It was also odd when another group arrived after we did and got their meal right away, while we waited 20-25 minutes. This was especially odd considering it appeared to be a slower day as well. The in between: the decor inside has a nice relaxing vibe, however the seating of tables does not lend itself towards any expectation of privacy or a subdued atmosphere, as they are put together fairly close to the point where even low talkers can be eaves dropped upon without effort. Overall, it was a good stop but would have been better had the meals not taken so long to arrive at the table. read more

Palomar Village location extremely accessible including parking. Service very welcoming. Breakfast and lunch has been great without long waits, experienced so far. Omelette options are basic, fluffy but slightly over and needed seasoning. The house potatoes...,crispy, pillowy and delicious. The "Cozy pair" composed of an excellent butternut squash bisque and half a grilled Brie sandwich is delightful. Structural assembly could be improved allowing the enjoyment of the bite. We've been waiting for the Lorimar Cafe to open. Since the Lorimar Loft closed, this is now our other Lorimar spot. We were impressed when walked in, real nice seating and upholstery similar to the wine club at Lorimar. We've been wine club members 10 years. They've got the best reds! So the food here is good. We've only tried two items so far. The loaded bagel was awesome. My wife had the Korean chicken sandwich, and she loved it. Nice ambiance here. A charming restaurant. Very chill morning vibe, but friendly and attentive service. My husband's breakfast sandwich with bacon and potatoes was so good! The bacon was thick and flavorful. Beautiful brioche bun. The right amount of tasty sauce. And the addition of sweet potatoes in the potato mix was amazing (crisp outside, creamy interior). My veggie omelet was excellent. I love the small dice on the bell peppers, lovely amount of vegetables as well. My mimosa with OJ was especially refreshing as well. Patrick was an excellent server. Came in for breakfast & was not disappointed with my meal. I ordered the Eggs Benedict with potatoes. I tell you it was delicious & writing. The location is not too far from the wineries. Making it a perfect stop before or after wine tasting for a meal. They also serve wines from thier winery. There is a cozy vibe here. I really wanted to like this place. First off the service is horrendous. The staff takes forever to get your order. I had to get up myself to get my own water which I thought was probably the easiest task to complete. The food came out average at best, cold and unappealing. They also got the order wrong. You also have to wait forever for your check, so down over a hundred bucks later unfortunately we will not be coming back. Im not a fan of leaving bad reviews, so sorry to your establishment but it's just plain bad. read more

We came here for Mothers Day 2025 and while the experience started out a little chaotic, the entire staff more than made up for it! Our server was awesome, spending just enough time with us. The food was delicious, all four of us loved our dishes. We had an Italian sandwich, the lox and bagels (I know Mark) a burger and a waffle. Yum! Also the atmosphere was cute! Stopped in for brunch on a Saturday morning, fearing it would be packed, but it wasn't. They said it was early at 8:30am and it would get crowded. We shared the breakfast burrito with chorizo and the pancakes. The burrito was perfect for sharing although a little too spicy, only because I'm a whimp. We got extra sour cream. The pancakes were huge and fluffy, delish. Our server was excellent. The place is immaculately clean, and beautifully styled. We will be back. read more

So glad we stopped by and can't wait to come back. Greeted by several employees when we walked in and got seated right away. Still in their soft open phase, but it was great and I can't wait to watch this place to continue to grow and evolve! We were able to use our winery membership discount, and get our complimentary glasses of wine (so awesome!). Service was great, Linda was attentive, friendly and professional. We had been wanting to check this cafe out for a while and finally made it over there this morning. The place is decorated nicely and was spacious and clean. They have an area set up for live music and a full bar as well. Our server was a nice lady, but she forgot a few things and got our order wrong. I had the chilaquiles. I asked beforehand if either salsa (green or red) was particularly spicy, and the lady said she would have them make it with both so I can decide. When our order arrived I was given a breakfast burrito, which I did not order. Our server apologized and assured me she would get my order out. When my chilaquiles arrived they only appeared to have the red sauce, topped with a greenish cilantro-like cream. I thought they were pretty good though. My daughter ordered an omelette with hash browns, but her order came with home fries instead. We pointed this out, and our server apologized again. My daughter thought her omelette was very small, but thought it was good. My husband had the chicken and biscuits, and it was not served hot, but more lukewarm. I took a taste of the gravy and thought it was very good. While we were there there was a gentleman with a video camera recording at the table next to us, and a couple of times I saw him panning around the room which was awkward. I was here on a Friday Morning with 1 server and approximately 20 guest. This was the cause of slow service. I saw our plates sit for over 15 minutes. Husband and I came here for a brunch date. The ambiance is feels very welcoming, sophisticated, and modern. Staff are very friendly and attentive. The food is absolutely exquisite. They have a great selection of food on their menu. I've tried one of their omelettes that came with ham, veggies, and cheese in it. I have also tried their egg Benedict. Both of these dishes came with a side of hash browns or potatoes. Get the potatoes! It's a mix of sweet potatoes, Ube potatoes, and regular potatoes. Perfectly seasoned, you don't even need ketchup. My husband ordered the chicken and biscuits that came with a side salad. He thought the portion was kind of small but nonetheless he still enjoyed it, he liked it so much that he just wanted more haha! The sauce that was used on the chicken and biscuit was very flavorful. The biscuits are jalapeño and cheddar, I had a bite of one and it was delicious. Husband and I also decided to share the Ube waffles. If you're a waffle fan and got a sweet tooth, this is your dish. The waffles were so fluffy. Sweetness alone and more sweetness when you add the whip cream and the Ube sauce. You don't even need maple syrup but hey pour some more sugar on it! I recommend y'all to give this spot a try. We are walking distance from here so we will definitely be returning :) read more

What a great vibe this place gives off in both the environment and the staff. Classy, without being stuffy, and the servers were friendly, timely and made excellent recommendations.  It is still their soft open, but you wouldn't know - they were tight and hitting all their shots.   It was our first time at the café - we have been to the winery many times - so we ordered more than enough for 2 people.   We ordered 3 starters: the goat cheese fritters, the brussel sprouts and the meatballs.   The brussel sprouts were super crispy, with nice lardons, and the apple gastrique was a bright highlight.   The 5 meatballs were served on garlic polenta with a roasted tomato sauce. Not too big and not too small, wonderfully flavored and well accented by the roasted tomato sauce and garlic polenta.   For a truly unique and amazing taste experience, try the goat cheese fritters! Warm,  creamy cheese that is rich, but also light, with herbs and garlic that added a great nuance without being overpowering. They were lightly drizzled with hot honey and garnished with a fried sage leaf - both were very nice accompaniments.   For drinks, we ordered the mimosa flight and the on-tap cold brew. The flight was very good - of course using Lorimar wine - and the strawberry and grapefruit were exceptionally amazing! The cold brew was very smooth and I drank it without sweetener or cream.   Our entrees consisted of the French toast and breakfast burrito.   The French toast was made from a bread pudding and served with a chai syrup - so very good! It was rich and velvety, warming and satisfying! Try it, you will be glad you did   The breakfast burrito was also very good - and it's hard to make a burrito shine - but they did! The potatoes are a country potato style, that included.purple yams, sweet potatoes and baby potatoes, plus refried beans, chorizo, cheese and eggs. It was served with sides of sour cream and a homemade pico that used multicolored heirloom tomatoes that I initially thoughI thought might be mango which would have been disappointing - but they were yellow tomatoes. It was just the right size and the flavor was dead on. Perhaps most importantly, the tortilla was soft without being doughy or too chewy, absolutely perfect.   We love Lorimar Winery, and now love Lorimar Cafe and Wine Bar. If your looking for a new brunch spot with great food and beverage selection, be sure to get over here! read more

I booked a reservation here since I had such a great experience with Lorimar winery restaurant. However it was nothing similar. We waited an extra ten mins after checking in before being seated. This was not a big deal except 2 others parties with no reservation were seated at the same time. They sat all three parties in the same section of one server. So she was triple sat. Two parties of two and my party of 4. She was also running around tending to her other guests. The other parties were treated and served first. Still not a problem. Now we order our drinks. I ordered a latte that was on the menu. They bring it back and the latte looks like a cup of iced milk. I couldn't taste the coffee. At this point we are waiting and waiting and still no sign of getting our order. We literally had to flag and ask someone to find our server because we want to order. At this point we were just about to walk out and go somewhere else. But the server finally comes over and proceeds to take our order. We order our food and I ask for a black coffee so I can mix this latte. She proceeds to tell me a long story of how she didn't make the coffee so that's why it wasn't good. I didn't see how this explanation was warranted. After waiting another very long wait. The food finally comes out. The food was good but nothing extraordinary. We ordered a michelada and it came with shock top beer in it. That definitely was not good. The syrup for the pancakes was as thin as water so it just kept soaking up into the pancakes. I asked for a side of butter. She brings it to someone else at the table and says here's your butter. So that guest proceeds to use the butter. I ask her again for another side of butter and she responds with, "I already brought you one." Like mam, you brought someone else one! Overall I would never return. Service was awful and it could've been avoided if Leslie wasn't triple sat. The server looked very young and sweet but she was very overwhelmed and it showed. read more

Came in for breakfast, was hoping they kept the coffee and juice bar from the previous restaurant that was located here, but sadly they did not. Just basic coffee. I'd love to see them add a better coffee, latte, espresso or fresh juice since they are open for breakfast and brunch. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with bacon and hashbrowns. The sandwich was good and I'd order it again, the hasbrowns were not good, they were soggy/mushy in the middle. Also ordered the shrimp and grits, that was pretty good had a nice little spice to it and the flavors went well together. Also got coffee but it's nothing to write home about. I'd be more likely to come back for breakfast if there was a better coffee menu. We might come back to check out the Friday-Sat vibes since they have a piano inside, could be a fun evening of wine and music. We shall see overall I'd give 7 out of 10. read more

This was our first time wanting to try this place since Lorimar took over. We live right down the street. We walked in and were told it would be a ten minute wait. We waited for over 30 minutes. While we were waiting people were complaining about the food wait and another couple asked for their check because their food was taking so long so we decided to take our name off of the wait list. We were told that there were a couple of big parties and the kitchen was backed up but this was not communicated in the long wait time. Most of the staff kind of stood around and looked lost. I understand if everyone is still learning but communicating with the hungry customer is important. I was really hoping for a win for this place since it is so close. Super bummed. Visited approximately 10 days after they opened and I think it's best to wait and let them work out their kinks. Wife ordered a caramel coffee that was 90% caramel sauce 10% coffee. When they brought her another one, there was no caramel. When she asked for water instead, the glass was stained with 2 different colors of lipstick. Her plate (food) was cold and devoid of any flavor. My plate, the eggs Benedict had one perfectly cooked egg and one egg that was practically hard boiled. My drink, Arnold Palmer was ok but it was the only one I had due to our server not coming around and asking if I needed a refill. There appeared to be 2 servers working and covering maybe 5 tables. Nothing but amazing. The ube flavor here for their waffle and cinnamon roll is incredibly exceptional. Also ordered the breakfast burrito and will order again in the future. This place started out rough. I initially gave it 3 stars and after another really bad experience, lowered it to 1 star. We said we would never be back. Well, they finally hired a new chef so I decided to give it another chance. I ordered the chorizo breakfast and it was pretty good. The service was also much better but there were few people in. I went back a second time and again, not many people in initially but the service was good and my sandwich was delicious. I'll say they made the right move with the new chef. They also have some pretty good deals although I still don't like how wine club members can't get their free glass/tasting here. We'd probably come more often if they brought that back.
