The crowd seemed friendly, and everything was going well until we asked for a tasting menu, which allowed us to choose the wines we wanted afterward. However, once we sat down, it got so busy. The owners were busy helping other guests and kind of forgot about us. I decided to skip the tasting, but it ended up taking about 30-40 minutes to complete, which was frustrating. It seemed they had family come in and other things going on, so the service was a bit slow. My cousins couldn't even order a glass because the tasting process took so long. Also, they really need some snacks--chips, cheese platters, fruit, anything to nibble on while waiting would help. Maybe some prepaid options or small bites to improve the experience. We left because we were hungry; otherwise, we would've stayed longer. They currently have a Groupon deal, so hopefully your experience is better than ours. It's the feel here! I didn't expect much bc it's small here but I loved the farm and rustic feel. Most of all, it was the hospitality and care from the workers/owners. Very reasonably priced. The whole environment is just relaxing and feels like a lazy Sunday. This place is in old town off main street next to a neat hotel. This is a very cozy environment. We had an appointment in town and squeezed in a wine tasting beforehand. So glad that we tried Big Nose! Parking was a breeze. There is street parking and a little lot across the street that had tons. The tasting room itself was really cute and full of memorabilia. It's attached to a little hotel with a backyard area where you could take your wine or come back from one of their musical events. Seems like a perfect place to drink some wine under the stars. Also has a nice bathroom, which is sometimes hard to find while wine tasting! The wine itself was well worth the tasting price! Service was great. We were very well attended to without feeling smothered. Ended up taking a bottle of the Merlot and Cab home with us! And everything was wrapped so well. I just stepped back in time and discovered the Big Nose Winery tasting room, another Old Town Temecula gem which I didn't even know existed! Roger Mattar, his wife Janice and son Matthew operate Big Nose Winery in the historic Hotel Temecula, built in 1882 to lodge riders on the newly completed Southern California railroad. Located on Main Street in the heart of Old Town (across from Pennypickle's Workshop), the property is so much more than what appears from the street. The outdoor area has plenty of seating and it was the perfect day to be out there. Big Nose is family and pet-friendly. Janice was an amazing and gracious host to our lively group, providing us with lots of historical info in addition to serving us wine. She checked on us frequently as we enjoyed our wine, a charcuterie board and taking lots of pics/vids around the outdoor gardens. Right out of the Wild West and as a reminder of how much history there is to be found in Old Town, behold the iconic Emigrant Office, built by the US Border Patrol after WWII and used into the 1970s. From what I've read, agents were on the lookout for any illegal liquor being transported through here during Prohibition! We were treated to a tour by Janice of some of the back rooms including the Ladies Parlor and a room housing the Temecula Post Office from 1887-1915 and the switchboard which once "Served Temecula Day and Night"! I'd definitely recommend checking out this Old Town Temecula gem. read more

Visited this winery tasting room in Old Town and fell in love! Parking is available via the street or there is a small lot behind the children's museum as well. The wine tasting room is full of historic pieces from the hotel. It has that old timey smell, which I love! Janice and her husband Roger are the owners and knew everything about all the wines! Our favorite, on this very hot day, was the Rose! The Rose is dry and so refreshing! The cowboy cab is also a must! There are very comfy chairs and tables inside with AC and seating outside on the porch or garden area. Would be a great place to bring kids, lots of outdoor space. They also provide self service water cups, and if you visit on the weekend, they have an Italian man making pizzas! All the wine was amazing. Service was great! We became wine club members! We arrived to Temecula. It was a little on the early side... we decided to head into Big Nose Winery... The owner was there pouring our sips.. unfortunately they did not have the Cabernet Sauvignon in stock while we were there ( apparently it was on his way down from the winery) it's OK we were there early.. we had a very nice tasting flight with a very heavy poor from the owner our favorite was the big nose rosé.. we loved it so much we decided to take it to an early lunch with friends. The property is ginormous in size and so countrified " and I mean that in a very cute way .. plenty of seating outside" Country music playing throughout. chickens in the back , yeah, that's right you heard me , chickens in the back... Cute little location in Old Town Temecula. I've never been wine tasting before and always heard great things about vineyards and wine in general in Temecula. Saw this place had a lot of positive reviews and wasn't far out of our way while I was visiting Temecula with a few friends. Interior is very home-esque, almost like a saloon style. Building is apparently an original design from back in the old days which is really cool. Tons of seating for 2-4 guests to seat inside and around the shaded exterior of the building. Since this was our first time doing wine tasting we didn't want to go for a certain glass of wine and not like it so we opted to do a flight which was $20 per guest for a flight of 5 different wines (2 whites, 3 reds if I remember correctly), it seems what's offered for the flight is switched periodically to keep it fresh and new. I'm by no means used to wines so the flavors were all interesting to me and I have a pretty welcoming palette when it comes to drinks so it's pretty hard for me to make a stank face. Definitely enjoyable to taste test the different wines and figure out which ones I like vs. what I don't. There's a few different option of light food and refreshments outside the wine, but nothing crazy. It would be nice to see Big Nose Winery offer some cheese boards with their wine tasting to stir up some additional revenue and would be complementary to the wine tasting process. We were served by Rodger who is the owner alongside his wife. Very welcoming and nice and was even generous enough to let us taste test a wine we were curious about and even let us try his freshly brewed Sangria he made in the morning. I look forward to seeing what Big Nose Winery does in the future as they get more attention and will definitely be back to try out wine again in the future during my next visit to Temecula! read more
