For many of us already addicted to the boldness, fruitiness or pungency of the oils according to the season, every blend or herbal pairing is a delight. Right now, the rosemary olive oil is summer incarnate and this year's Olio Nuovo, with particular hints of grass, butter and green apple begged for a cult following! This is a beautiful company inside out and the passion is palpable. There is no "business as usual" attitude here, just people bringing out the best of what this California olive grove has to offer. Prepare to be surprised or rather.... enthralled! PS Olive oil is "fresh juice" and should be treated as such. Keep it in the fridge until you open the bottle! Am a stickler for press dates but with the Ranch, I venture to guess that not one bottle stays on the shelves long enough to make freshness a concern.

The first time we came, we picked up a couple bottles of olive oil, and we absolutely fell in love with them. As a matter of fact, we had literally just run out of their Mediterranean olive oil. So, on a little trip down to the casino , we decided to stop by on our way home and pick up four more bottles. And I have to say, it is STILL just as delicious as the first day I tried it. This is a really nice place, and if you haven't been here before, they have a great selection of olive oils and all kinds of other goodies. They also have an olive oil bar where you can actually sample all the different flavors they have. And let me tell you, that is pretty damn awesome. Since we had already been here before and had gone through the whole experience, we already knew exactly what we wanted this time. We grabbed our bottles and were on our way. The people working here were just as nice and friendly as they were the first time, which made the whole experience just as enjoyable. (Side note) There's stories just so nice and clean and just very comfortable to visit. So, like I always say, try it out for yourself! And I'm sorry I didn't take any pictures this time. I'm pretty sure if you like olive oil--and especially if you like trying different flavors--you're going to have a great time here. They have a LOT of different ones to choose from. Meghan was fantastic, friendly, attentive, accommodating, and so helpful throughout the meal. Faith, the owner, also stopped by several times to check on us, which earned major points. We started with the seared scallop special topped with caviar, and it was outstanding, perfectly cooked, with the caviar adding just the right touch of saltiness. Honestly, we wanted to order more. The hot goat cheese with hot honey appetizer was delicious and so comforting. Definitely get extra bread, you'll want it. Since it was Taco Tuesday, we tried the taco trio with chicken, steak, and shrimp. The steak and shrimp were standouts. The chicken was slightly dry, but overall we really enjoyed them. And the biggest surprise of the night was the shrimp and sausage skillet. Absolutely incredible. So flavorful and rich, and again we needed more bread to soak up every bit of that delicious sauce. We also ordered the crème brûlée for dessert, which was good. The sugar topping was slightly thick, and I'll admit I'm a bit of a dessert snob, so while we enjoyed it, the meal itself was really the shining star of the night. I'm already dreaming about my next visit. I was genuinely impressed by everything, service, ambiance, food, and live music. This place is a whole vibe. Five stars all the way. They also have the Big Baron Cookie upfront when you first walk in so you can take one of those to go. The Big Baron cookie is a $4 and it is absolutely well worth it. It is soft, large, and delicious. I also purchased a variety of the flourless cookies in the fresh baked case. I got: Black and White Cookies, Peanut Butter Chocolate Cookies, and snickerdoodle cookies. All were delicious. Great customer services from the cashier, a young man who was helpful.
