1909 in Old Town Temecula is lively but still relaxed, making it a great place to catch up with friends, family, or enjoy a weekend date. I ordered the chilaquiles, and they were absolutely loaded. The portions were huge, and I loved the combination of tender shredded pork, crispy chips that still held their texture, fresh avocado, queso fresco, and perfectly cooked eggs on top. Every bite was packed with flavor. My mom ordered the eggs Benedict, which came with crispy breakfast potatoes. Everything looked fresh, and the potatoes were perfectly golden and seasoned. We also had hot chocolate with our meal, and it paired perfectly with brunch since it was chilly outside. The service was friendly, our food came out fairly quick for being busy but it usually takes awhile here. We've been here a few times. Not our go-to spot or our favorite but if you're looking for a delicious brunch spot in Old Town Temecula with generous portions and a fun atmosphere, 1909 is definitely worth a visit.
It's located in the middle of Old Town and it's always poppin! Luckily the time's I've been, the wait hasn't been too long. There plenty of indoor, outdoor, and bar seating. The servers are always sweet and quick. They have a variety on their menu. Their 1909 burger was so delicious. I'm usually not a burger girl but it was stacked with fresh ingredients. I got the seasoned fries which were good. Their birria hash was packed with flavor. I enjoy their hazy beers and I had to try their mimosa slush which was a bit strong in my opinion. The alcohol really punched me in the face. 1909 is a great spot that I enjoy going to whenever I'm in the area.
Crab and shrimp empanada were delicious. The fried deviled eggs were tasty and different. We each ordered an appetizer with water before heading down the street to happy hour. The mango habanero shrimp ceviche was so delicious. Right amount of mango sauce and habanero that nothing is over powering the taste of the other. Very tasty. In this 93 degree heat the mist system was on and we were very comfortable. With the appetizers you only received three deviled eggs the empanadas was a total of three but this ceviche was a pretty good portion.
I absolutely LOVE this spot! I go here every time I am anywhere near Temecula and will continue to go back! There is street parking, or you can park in a large lot behind the restaurant. The ambiance is hip and open, with very clean bathrooms. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating with a very large covered patio out front. It's located in old town Temecula and is such a hidden gem! I ordered many delicious drinks, but loved allll of the frozen cocktails (as it was incredibly hot!) Service was great, and always is. The server gave us some great food and drink recs and we started with a charcuterie board that was a 10/10 and made our way through the rest of the menu, as we wanted to try a lot of different things.
Very busy place, wait time was 40 min. The hostess and servers were very friendly. Super cute ambience! They have outdoor and indoor seating. We sat outside and the heaters worked amazing, since it was a chilly evening. The food was a solid 3. The raw oysters are much better than the grilled ones. I had their clam chowder which was... ok. The rib eye was a solid 3. Too much flavor fusion going on. The chicken Sammie and the birria tacos I highly recommend. I loved the location. There's a lot of different places to try on this little strip in Temecula.
During our visit to Temecula, we wanted to try a new place to eat. So we stopped at 1909 to eat lunch. We ordered steak, potatoes, shrimp/chorizo, burger, and Cuban sandwich along with drinks. All were really good. Bloody Mary came with friend chicken wing and bacon along with olives, tasted good. Burger was really good as it reminded us of another place. The shrimp and chorizo was very good. The steak was juicy and the sauce really good. The cubano sandwich was just ok. Lemonade was good but not spectacular. We will definitely come back, but try a few things different and a couple of the items we had today.
Came by on a Monday for lunch! Interior design/decor is modern yet not lost. Cool restaurant bar to chill or hang out! Got their 1909 burger but don't sleep on their smash burger because they look just as great if not better! Patty has that nice char, meaty taste to follow after! That's how it should be done! Customer service was spot on too! Not too much but attentive enough or easy to flag down for anything you need. The restaurant has everything well oiled, their food runners know what to serve where/who.
Gorgeous weather, a tad breezy... but the patio tables had their heaters on! Yay!! At first we couldn't decide whether we wanted to sit inside which was open air or patio and slightly covered. The hostess at the stand looked a tad annoyed....I guess it was a little extra work for them. Eh. The night we came, the restaurant was playing some good jams..our waiter had excellent table service! He sold us on the appetizers. I read some reviews on options and chose the pesto pasta dish... I give it 6/10. If you don't like anything spicy, watch out for this dish. There's red pepper flakes in it. I didn't read it was slightly spicy, otherwise would have done without it. The chicken was the best thing from that dish. My husband enjoyed his bread-less burger! Ginger ale taste good with anything! We even got the special water from the springs.. Bathrooms are super tight! Why do they make bathroom doors to open inward?'!! I guess since it's a right squeeze don't want it to hit someone coming out. Btw this is a favorite spot for the locals! It got super busy after 6pm!
Came here with a friend for brunch, the servers were friendly and attentive and we were seated right away. They were happy to accommodate us with an outside table and highchair for my son. Our server was training a couple of people so we had a few different people checking in on us (btw both trainees did amazing, they were so friendly and already great with recommendations on menu items.) I inquired about an iced coffee and they didn't have anything besides regular hot coffee, which seems a little odd when you're open for "brunch" everyday. I'd love to see them expand with even a couple basic iced options since it's typically pretty hot in Temecula and there's a lot of outside seating. Their cocktail menu is extensive and the Bloody Mary I ordered was absolutely delicious! The bacon garnish seemed a little stale but I figured that was because it had probably been prepped ahead of time for the bar, but the other nibbles were yummy. My friend ordered the Fried Chicken Benedict and I ordered the Caprese Benedict. Both had huge portions and looked absolutely beautiful, my friend said hers was absolutely delicious. The Caprese Benedict did not come with any bread/English muffin, which I knew ahead of time, and while it was delicious I needed something to soak up some of the hollandaise/egg yoke! Great as a lower carb option if you subbed out the potatoes, but there was definitely a lot of sauce left on the plate with nothing to eat it with. I ordered a kids egg and bacon meal which also came with potatoes. The bacon was in kind of the same state as the piece that came with my Bloody Mary, so that was a little disappointing because bacon should always be yummy, but my kiddo loved the eggs and potatoes. They had quite a few different options for kids and they are reasonably priced (mostly $10 or under) which is appreciated. We will absolutely be back again to try for lunch! The patio seating is perfect for people watching (and cars, fire trucks, and big trucks which my kiddo just loved.) They also have ceiling fans inside and out which is helpful for these warmer months!
Such a cute spot in Temecula. We sat outside and the service was attentive and kind. I got their espresso martini and asked for the sugar to be taken out. It was still a touch sweet for my taste but overall really good. Then I tried the eggs benedict with longanisa. I wish the sausage was a bit more hearty but it was minced very fine. It was a touch spicy, but overall the flavor was really good. I also tried the fried chicken benedict which was delicious. The eggs were also cooked to perfection. Overall, such a fun spot. Would come back!
Food was solid, but nothing all that special. Plus it was pretty expensive. Patio seating and vibes and ambiance swung this to a 4/5. Would definitely come back to try more of the drinks and menu. The 1909 bloody mary was 10/10. One of the best Bloody Mary's I've ever had. Seriously was amazing - spicy, flavorful, everything you want Eggs your way - standard 2 poached eggs, toast bacon and potatoes. Potatoes were super undercooked but the poached egg was perfect. Bacon was also a lil undercooked. Cranberry white cheddar salad was banging I must say. I added shrimp and it was suuuuper good.
We originally had been in a waitlist for another restaurant but had in interesting experience so we walked over to 1909 and were able to get seated right away. Our waiter was amazing, super friendly and knowledgeable. It was our first time and he literally took the time and gave us recommendations for every part of the menu which was so sweet. I ended up getting the Birria Hash and it did not disappoint. Perfect amount of food for me and I also got the spicy cucumber drink and it was delicious! Most definitely will return. It's a great spot and even though it was hot outside they had misters so that was a nice touch. Thank you!

During our visit around Downtown Temecula, we stopped by 1909 on a whim! They seated us very, very quickly on a late Tuesday night. We were given the menus and we immediately knew what we wanted to order. We had a round of drinks and I immediately ordered their mussels. Their mussels were very, very addicting! It was delicious and the sauce they used for it was fantastic. I can put this place on my list of mussel cravings. Throughout our time there, our server checked on us numerous times. I believe I need to come back to fully experience their menu, but for the little time I was there, I enjoyed it. Thank you for having us! read more

First time at 1909 and it definitely won't be my last! The food was SO good. We got the burrito and the burger, and both were absolutely delicious. Everyone working there was super friendly and made the whole experience even better. Now... the drinks are no joke. I probably wouldn't recommend them if you don't drink often because they're STRONG. There's a two-drink limit per person for a reason! If you like a stiff drink though, you'll definitely get your money's worth. Overall, amazing food, great service, and a fun atmosphere. Can't wait to come back! read more

Hands down, this is the best restaurant in town! Since moving here, we've really missed San Diego's food scene--but last weekend, my wife and I visited 1909 for the first time, and we found that 1909 rivals many of our favorite places in San Diego. We started with a "Dirty" Vodka Martini for me and a Mac's Mule for her. Then, we ordered the Caesar Brussel Sprouts, the 1909 Burger, the Cilantro Lime Fish Tacos, and a couple more cocktails along the way. Everything was absolutely delicious! What really stood out, though, was the service. The entire staff treated us like we were longtime regulars--friendly, attentive, and welcoming without being overbearing. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, and reminded us of some of our favorite places back in San Diego. If you're looking for great food, excellent drinks, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile, this is the place. We'll definitely be going back! read more
After a day of winery hopping, we were ready for dinner and decided to order a variety of appetizers--and we were not disappointed. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and served warm. The empanadas were my favorite, but honestly, everything we tried was delicious. We sat outside, and despite the chilly evening, there were plenty of heaters to keep us comfortable. 1909 has to be my favorite restaurant/bar on the whole old town Temecula strip. This place pops off with a lot of customers, but they are very professional with how they handle reservations and walk-in's. Super dialed in. Their menu sits in the perfect balance of casual and upscale and the pricing is fair for the quality and experience. The double prime smash burger is excellent and I recommend going with the honey garlic fries. Not sure if I like the drinks or food better because they're both fire. The voodoo breeze somehow stole my heart. I love tiki bar style drinks but I'm not a fan of blended drinks - it still wins! read more
First off, they have a dog menu!!!!!!! So awesome. And the patio is huge with lots of shade to bring your furry friends. There were no complaints from the dogs on the food! The human food was also delicious! The chorizo and salsa were so flavorful. Our server was awesome and everything was quick. Also tried the fried deviled eggs and they were great. Had an Irish coffee that wasn't great but the food made up for it. read more

This is my go to place in old town for the most part but the last two times I've had a pretty bad experience. This time was after a run and it was still early in the day. They sat us in the back when the restaurant was pretty open. Then they served all the other tables before us and were suprised and unapologetic when we said something. The food was okay. Because the service was so slow we only ordered our entrees and juice and when I ordered a refill it took so long I considered passing on it. It's too bad because for a $30 breakfast I am expecting service and a good time. Especially at 1909. This could easily of become a $100 per a person meal (as we were celebrating) but no one was serving us (even an app took 20 mins) so we ended up leaving and going to baileys. This happened when we came to the Valentine's Day pop up as well. Came out for Valentine's Day ready to order rounds of the cute drinks! It was like pulling teeth to get the first round ordered and our food. It was over 40 mins by the time the sever returned and we'd decided by that time we were better off heading to coin op or something. It's galentines and we're ready to have a good time. It was just really disappointing tbh and I'm hesitant to return at this point. read more
We were roaming in Temecula and this was one of the most recommended restaurants and I must say, it did not disappoint. First of all, they have a beautiful outdoor area which is where we sat. They do have heaters so you don't get too cold which was nice. The service was great, the server was very knowledgeable of the dishes and the food was great! It was fast, high quality and delicious. Nice spot for a large group with both indoor and outdoor seating options. Service was really good. Everyone was very friendly and checked on us often. A group of us shared a variety of appetizers: - Fried Deviled Eggs (3/5) - Crab & Shrimp Empanadas (5/5) - Fried Cauliflower (4/5) - Sticky Ribs (4/5) - Birria Tacos (3/5) - Mango Habanero Shrimp Ceviche (5/5) I enjoyed everything overall, but the empanadas and ceviche really stood out for their flavor and freshness. The rest were cooked well, though I felt they could use a bit more flavor. Still, a good meal and a great place to gather with friends. read more

Been here for dinner before but decided to hang out in Temecula one beautiful Sunday & wanted to try their brunch. So glad we did. No wait at all for seating. Server was fast & attentive, as they always are tbh. Music on point. Drink was refreshing and yummy. The French toast was our absolute favorite. read more
Came here for brunch and walked out feeling very full and satisfied!! Located in Old Town Temecula with lots of history put to a modern twist, we learned that 1909 was a rebuilding of what used to be a historic Machado building. It went through phases of being a bar and even an auto shop!!! It was a sunny beautiful day and we chose to sit inside, but most people sat at the outdoor patio. The food selections all looked yummy and we went with the Birria Tacos as an appetizer to share. It was super good!!! Definitely highly recommend. Next, I got the Double Prime Smash Burger and that was the thickest smash burger I ever had and it was super yummy too. Perfect for large group dinners! We came without a reservation on a Monday night and they fit ~15 of us in easily! Most of us ordered the New York steak frites, which was a 10 oz steak with cremini mushroom sauce and house-made tallow fries. It was soooo good. The portion size was easily worth the price. The mushroom sauce was rich without being too salty and I loved how much they coated the fries in it. The servers were very accommodating and let us split the check down to the individual, which was helpful given we were on a work trip. read more

Made a day trip nearby and was looking for a nice dinner. Never been to Old Town Temecula before but it's very quaint, walkable and has tons of options. Stumbled on 1909 via yelp (gg it has a boatload of reviews). We sat inside to watch the CFP Championship Game. We had a high top, which is a a little weird because it's only side by side along the wall. But, that's best for viewing games. The bathroom was kinda a miss - semi clean, no seat covers. Service was pleasant and server was attentive. Food: -1909 burger (4/5): bacon jam and patty super solid. The bun was a bit dry. Meat was also slightly over medium. - steak frites (3/5): nice char, but meat not super tender. The sauce and fries were great! - shrimp and crab empanadas (5/5): crispy, flakey and tons of filling. The corn salsa on top was fresh and the corn super sweet. Definitely worth checking out if in the area. read more
Located in Old Town on the main road, it's perfectly located with ample space on the patio and back patio. A nice environment and decor it fits right into the old town vibe. The service was a little slow to start but it's a popular and busy space. All of the food was amazing with nice portions. read more
Really like the decor and the seasonal decorations were over the top. Had a seat at the bar, and ordered Korean Fried Chicken, Bacon Fries, Mussels in Wine Broth, a Martini and an Old Fashioned. Friendly customer service, but the bartenders are not great. Three attempts to make a simple Dry Vodka Martini Shaken and twice it was a Dirty Watery Martini . The Old Fashioned was good. Fries and chicken were tasty but the Mussels never arrived! Surprisingly the place received a Yelpie! read more

2025 visits: 1909 Gastropub is always a solid choice whenever in Temecula California. Brynn was our server today and the service was great! Pleasant bar inside with lots of seating. The outdoor patio also has plenty of seating and you can people watch as you enjoy your meal. This visit we had brunch and tried the rolled blueberry coconut French toast...5/5 wow what a delicious dish. We also tried birria hash with avocado. The huckleberry cider and the classic bloody Mary were also a hit! Thanks, 1909 Handcrafted Fluid & Fare for a great brunch and lunch. 5/5 this visit. Back again after a couple of days for lunch. Oysters, the bison burger and some white sangria and another classic bloody Mary, not sure why this one was watered down? Not very consistent... 3/5 this visit for a rounded out 4/5. Ricardo was excellent!! He was very friendly/welcoming and very knowledgeable of the menu. Everything was delicious! Loved the birria tacos! Bottomless mimosas is a must! Service was good. Staff was cheerful and kind. My party orders the curry, pesto pasta, and this cod fish entree. It was all very very delicious. My curry had chicken and shrimp and both were soo tasty and complemented the try soo well. The empanadas and tacos appetizer were equally delicious. Price was appropriately what we got. Came here with my sisters to celebrate one of their birthdays, the service was so warm and kind. I can't remember our waitresses name but she was so kind and even helped me sisters pick out their very first alcoholic drinks ( I was DD so I couldn't drink). She even went so far to bring out a birthday float for my sister!! It was such a fun night the drinks were so good!! The food on the other hand was a bit bland and needed a bit more seasoning. But I will be back for the drinks and maybe an appetizer!!! read more
