I have a good breakfast experience over two years ago. First thing we noticed that restroom was in aweful shape. We should have walked out then. Today breakfast was awful ! I had the short rib Benedict , the meat was dry as if they were freeze dried , the egg did not flow and was more on the soft build egg side and not up to par at all. There Belgium waffle was server was crispy and not light an airy , sub par. You could get a more satisfying breakfast at dennys. Totally did not meet expectations. Publix needs to find a new waitress. We had a reservation at 10 AM, but the place wasn't even open on time. When we knocked on the door, we were told to "go to the back," but the gate wasn't open and no one explained how to get there. We ended up walking around the entire block trying to figure it out ourselves. Once we finally found the back entrance, there was no staff there to help us. Eventually, a waitress came out and simply told us to sit anywhere. Since the back area was extremely loud, I politely asked if our party could sit on the porch instead, and she immediately rolled her eyes at us. initially, my cousins and I wanted to go to 1909, but with a 40-minute wait versus no wait at all, Public House was the obvious choice. Our server was amazing, and the food was super tasty. We ordered a bunch to share--pizza, burgers, shishito peppers, pesto pasta, and goat cheese toast--all of which were delish. That said, there were a few downsides. At one point, the server forgot to put in my order, which was fine since we were all full, but it was a bit funny waiting for a burger that wasn't even in the system. We were excited to hear the band, but with some tech difficulties and having been there over an hour, we decided it was time to head out. We were going to 1909 later in the weekend so we wanted to change it up and go somewhere else and we walked past this place and decided to come in. This spot is way bigger than I was expecting it to be the back outside patio is great and seems like there is a lot of entertainment that happens with a small stage. We just came for a drink and light bites and they had empanadas on the menu today so we decided to try those. The menu had lots of great options I would love to come back for lunch or dinner. What a find!! This spot is in Old Town Temecula, and it's got a great vibe. We sat in a private area off the entry. Our server was Christopher but he gave us to Ariana. Both were very kind, and Ariana is a kick and a half. The food was fabulous. We had lunch, so our bill of fare was that variety. The Eeuben was scrumptious, the Mac n cheese decadent, and the flatbreads were a good size and yummy. The Mac n Cheese pictured is one that we added truffle and steak. This happens to be one of my favorite brunch spots in town! My gf's & I used to frequently come here for the drag shows, but they stopped those awhile back & we miss them!! We still come here for brunch occasionally & taco Tuesdays when they have them (currently not happening). Seating is pretty open & outdoor patio is very nice on a warm day. The restaurant doubles as a club on weekends with a dj. They also offer events during the week at times like a sip & paint or karaoke you just need to check the website to find out what & when. Staff is super friendly & since they are known to get busy at times we have learned to be very patient when this occurs... we know that tge servers are well worth the wait! My favorite dish here is the avocado toast or the tomato addiction appetizer. During Christmas they have really tasty cocktails & decorations to make it feel festive/cozy. Downside is the restrooms: only 2 both co Ed & they often smell. So I often wait until we go somewhere else to potty. read more

We were seated in the back patio. I had a hottie toddy and my friend had an ice tea. We shared the roasted Brussel sprouts. I don't like blue cheese but the little bit I had wasn't bad. I ordered the blackened mahi mahi tacos. The mahi mahi had great flavor, thought a little dry, but all the other items on the taco (avocado and pineapple salsa) made up for it. We had tried this place years ago and thought we would try out the Public House for a second time to see if there have been any changes to their menu. The host and servers were friendly and welcoming and the food was "okay" good. Nothing our table ordered was considered amazing or over the top. Would we come here again? The food was great, but unfortunately the overall experience was disappointing. We had reserved a table for about 12 people, but when we arrived, another server had apparently given our table away to a different party. They had to quickly pull tables and chairs together for us and apologized for the miscommunication, which was frustrating. To make matters worse, after receiving my food, I found a hair in my pasta. I asked them to take it back, and honestly, after that, I no longer had an appetite. I cannot remember if they removed it from my receipt or not. Thankfully, we had ordered plenty of appetizers beforehand, so I was still able to eat something. Had heard about Public House from W-O-M and some Yelp reviews. We were in Old Town after some business in the area and decided to try the menu. We were not disappointed. Had the Pretzel Twist and Truffle Stuff for starters. A couple of Da' Club Flatbread, Sweet Heat Burger, Kids Chicken Nuggets and Ahi Tuna Salad. Charly was a great server and she didn't let any drink glasses go empty while we were dining. Kind of a low vibe feel during lunch which allowed us to talk without having to raise our voices. The quality and playing of the food was worth the value. Though we didn't imbibe, the drink menu was very interesting and tempting but it was midday. My husband and I always try to go to new places and they always fall short in both service and food. It'd be one thing if it was one or the other, but it always manages to be both. We went to Public House and were surprised by how excellent both the service and food were. Instantly we were greeted by Isaiah bartender/server who made great recommendations on drinks and made them himself. We are both in the food industry and we really appreciated how it felt like he was super genuine, like there wasn't a script that he needed to follow. The food was absolutely amazing, we got the Bleu Burger and Sweet Heat burger. The ambiance of the place was pretty lowkey and chill for a Monday afternoon, but I could imagine that it would get pretty popping on a weekend. We decided to give this place a shot since our original choice 1909 was too crowded, and we definitely made a good choice. We were drawn in by the live music and decided to give the place a shot. Parking was there, but its more if you wanna pay or not. Directly across from the place was a pay for parking lot with a decent amount of spots. Otherwise you can play a gamble for street parking or walk from a free lot where you still hope to get a. spot. It was all outdoor seating with a bar. It kind of gave that backyard hangout vibe. I enjoyed the live music too. But there was a good amount of seating and overall the place was pretty clean. Not to mention, they are dog friendly! Food was pretty good. It was your typical pub food options but I enjoyed it. The brussel sprouts seemed like they were cooked just right to me. The Ahi Tuna Salad was huge, and pretty. There was a generous amount of tuna in there as well. The chicken pesto flatbread was yummy. The crust was nice and crispy. I enjoyed the cheese pull and the flavors were nice. RUDE. It starts and ends there. Made a reservation through their site, Open Table. Has a 10 min grace period. We all know parking can be a bit of an issue around downtown. Had a reservation for 8:30pm, was at the front by 8:32pm. The employee could not have been more dismissive and flat out rude. Place was EMPTY. And her response was that 8:30pm was the last seating and if you aren't there by 8:30 we won't seat you. I can understand having a good policy. However, two minutes on a slow night. Have a little customer service. Be polite. Act like you want business but nothing you can do. How you treat people is everything, you know the PUBLIC, who visits your establishment. Won't be back. A little courtesy would be my recommendation for the menu. read more

This is an update to a review I left for Public House in Temecula in October of 2024. We recently have tried this restaurant again to see if things have gotten better. To our surprise the restaurant has stepped up their business practices and quality control. We ordered drinks and entrees with no road blocks of "we are out of that or don't have the ingredients to make it" like we got before. The staff has also stepped it up and seem happier. Tried the salads, shishito peppers, Buffalo Chicken flatbread and it was all very good. The flatbread was served hot from the oven. We went 3 times to be sure that it wasn't just a fluke. I don't visit Temecula that often, and I didn't realize the long waits for the restaurants, but I randomly walked by this place and was happy the wait was short. We were seated pretty quickly, and Taylor was our server. He had great recommendations when it came to wine and the different food options. I had a glass of Pessimist on his recommendation, and it was great. I also had the Ruben which was delicious and filling. We also ordered the Mac n cheese, the goat toast, the pretzel twist and ultimately the Smoreplay for dessert. The food came out fast, and everything tasted great. They have a nice outdoor patio, and we were definitely happy for a great meal. I would definitely return here next time I am in town. read more

We were referred here by one of our friends at a local winery... I guess he should stick to the wine. The ambience was fun and lively... DJ was great, music and the vibe was fun and not too wild for a Sunday afternoon. We got seated quickly at one of the hightop tables. Good space for a small group. I had the Queen drink-it was ok. My friends had the Sangria and they did not like it or drink it. My other friend had a mocktail so that was fine also. As for our food... this is where it went downhill... and we were SO looking forward to great burgers. It was so hyped up and we were really hungry and wanted to burgers specifically. I requested mine to be medium rare and my other friend asked for medium... both burgers came out WELL DONE. Pretty well charred... and we are meat eaters so I knew what I asked for and what I wanted and it was definitely NOT what I received. This was super disappointing. I didn't even finish it. and I was HUNGRY. That's how inedible it was. So I guess if you order, just skip the burger and get something else. I saw a salad come out that looked decent... maybe go that direction. Maybe because it was Sunday, the weekend top performers were all off that day. One told us to "seat yourself," even though we had a reservation. Kinda awkward. Luckily our server was super nice and moved us to a bigger table -- he was honestly the best part of the experience. The food though... huge letdown. My steak looked fine but was tough, unseasoned, and honestly inedible. The last time I dined here was before the new owners over two years ago, which was a pretty good dining experience. Unfortunately, our dining experience tonight was really bad (6/17/24). Our server warned us she was the only server, they had limited staff and service may be slow. And yes, it was slow. Initially we were okay with some slow service. We even pitched in a bit. For instance when our server didn't return after quite a while to open our wine bottle, I walked up to the bartender who immediately stopped what he was doing to uncork our wine. Good job to him! We placed our meal order and waited, and waited, and watched as meals were being brought out to tables that were seated after us. I asked our server to check on our order, after which she walked out with two of our meals, which had obviously been sitting out for a while because it was lukewarm at best. My meal was the chicken pita wrap and fries. It was okay and also lukewarm. Our server definitely needed some help. I don't blame our server and the others working here tonight. Yes! Yes! Yes! My fiancee and I spent Friday night up in Temecula for her birthday and come Saturday morning, we were in dire need of a solid brunch! We arrived at Public House this morning and while it was a little confusing at first because there was nobody out front and no signage when we arrived, we made our way along the side to the bar area and were greeted by a friendly bartender who offered us a seat at a nearby high table at which we were greeted by Diego. Now, if you are easily intimidated by well-manicured handlebar mustaches, I highly recommend you avoid Diego. If you like quality drinks, personable service, regular check-ins or outstanding service, then you're in good hands with him! My fiancee tried a couple different drinks, but I stuck with the "Take me to Church" cocktail and they were phenomenal. The "Take me to Church" was an excellent combination of a spirit-forward, but still refreshing cocktail that would go well any time of the day. They were all refreshing, but still spirit forward which is what I look for in a cocktail and they were quite delightful. For food, we had the chilaquiles and the short rib benedict and both of us thoroughly enjoyed our food. The quality and portion sizes are perfect. Sometimes we go to brunch and the portions that are served are too much for us, but the portion sizes at Public House I would say are darn-near perfect. We ended up hanging out for about an hour and a half and were able to connect with Diego and enjoyed a delightful conversation with him. Brunch at Public House and the pleasure of being served by Diego was a perfect start to the morning and I highly recommend Public House for a solid Old Town Temecula brunch! read more
