Where do I start? We hosted a private event here celebrating a 50th birthday and 20th anniversary together. Communication with Lucy was seamless--all I really had to do to prepare was send an inspiration board and ask a few questions about accommodating some items we wanted to bring. Set menu planning was easy, and Lucy helped project costs to make sure we met the minimum. I was blown away when I saw it all come together. Kelly, the owner, took such careful care of us. She photographed the event and shared the photos with me afterward, and she took the time to walk us through each dish and the thought behind the ingredients, which made the food taste even better. She gathered the whole group for a photo, and once everyone left, she offered me a cold drink to help me unwind (she must have noticed how stressed I was, lol). Came here for a friend's birthday dinner. Our party of 11 had a fantastic time. The restaurant was lively and must be popular given how many parties were there to celebrate birthdays, showers, and other celebrations. The food overall was solid. Good variety of dishes from pastas to burgers to steaks and seafood. For my dinner selection I went with the NY Strip (medium rare). It comes with a baked potato and some veggies (broccoli and carrots). There is a pat of bleu cheese compound butter which you can use to add some extra flavor, although I didn't think my steak needed any. Solid restaurant with great vibes! read more

My friends and I went to Temecula for a wine tasting weekend for my friend's birthday. We were looking for a place to have dinner before heading out to listen to some music. We chose Luke's due to the positive reviews and the fact that they offered reservations and rooftop dining. When we arrived, staff was friendly. We were promptly seated at our outdoor table. I had hoped for a nice view of Old Town, but our view was actually of an empty lot. The menu contains a large amount of Amarican fare, generally bar food. The cocktails offered were basic, not crafted cocktails. My friends each ordered a spritz. I ordered a take on a mimosa called the "Bad Mom Mimosa". It was OK. We decided to share the empanadas, as our server spoke highly of them. We also shared the truffle Mac and the fried artichoke hearts. The Mac was creamy and had a really good truffle flavor. I'm glad we shared three ways, as it would have been too rich. The empanadas were pretty good, though nothing too out of the ordinary. The artichoke hearts were disappointing, as they had too much batter and little artichoke. When we were done, my friend was offered either the chocolate cake or the cheesecake as a dessert. It was nice of them to offer a free birthday dessert. She chose the chocolate cake. Unfortunately, our server forgot our spoons. We waited and waited... and I had to run in and ask for some. Once we had spoons, we found that the cake was too overly sweet to eat. There was another wait before we left as they were cleaning the bathrooms. I'm glad they clean the bathrooms, but to do both at the same time on a Saturday night was a bit much as a line was forming. Between waiting for the spoons and the bathroom, we were more than ready to leave. All in all, Lukes is an OK place to grab a bite or a drink, but I would probably try other restaurants in the area before returning. read more

I ordered the salmon and subbed the rice for their brussel sprouts. I was very happy with the way the salmon was grilled, the flavor of the meal, and service. The carrots were colder than the rest of the food but were perfectly soft. We also ordered the fries trip from the happy hour menu for the table. The flavors we chose were garlic parm, Cajun, and truffle. It was a large portion perfect for sharing. They were kind of soft and not as hot/fresh but still good as an appetizer. If you're looking for some great views of old town Temecula this is the place. Located on the 4th floor and overlooking the strip is this open concept restaurant/ bar. There's lots of seating and a huge bar with views from a large part of the restaurant. It does get busy so be patient but the staff has always been very friendly. I've yet to dine here because I usually come in for a cocktail however we did order some edamame this time. This is definitely a spot I will keep coming back to and recommending to others. read more

We've ate here probably four times since they've opened. Each time it keeps getting better! The view is priceless and perfect for a sunset! On our latest visit i had the grilled chicken on a bed of mashed potatoes. It came with baby carrots and broccoli. Loved it. My wife the carnivore had the fillet which was also on a bed of mash. Stopped in for an early Lunch with my Girlfriend while my car was being worked on nearby. Our View was Great looking out over Old Town and the streets below. Clean Air up there & no exhaust. A Beautiful Day with no clouds and a Blue Sky. Ambiance was really nice with a light breeze. We split the Bruschetta and the Calamari with lots of tentacles and two tasty sauces. Food was Delicious! Very unfortunate experience here, from what I saw and what they advertise I expected more. I made a reservation 1-2 weeks in advance as I was specifically looking for a rooftop view for a special date, and put in the reservation comments that I was specifically looking for a rooftop view and seating. The main thing that got my attention from Luke's was how much they advertised their rooftop dining and bar experience and the view! I was excited but made sure that I wrote in my reservation that I wanted the rooftop view experience and if not possible to reach out to me. A couple days after reserving a time they call me to confirm because of the note I left letting me know that there will be an event and a table wouldn't be available but I would still have the rooftop bar seating with full service for my date as I requested in advance. That was great because that's all I really needed, a rooftop view experience and they called me to confirm. Before ending the call I asked again okay just to confirm, the seating will still have the view right? And they confirmed. Everything was well. I arrived on the dot to my reservation and we get seated inside at a table away from everything! Im obviously upset and I tell the server everything and how I asked in advance for the view seating and that I received a call confirming with me that I would get the view seating, but they say that they sold the outdoor seating to someone else because they needed more seats and just really didn't care and brushed me off. Like come on what more could I have done? It ruined my dinner experience and left a bad taste in my mouth how they could have let me know that they no longer had my specially requested in advance seating but decided to not call or text to let me know, but instead called me and let me know and confirm that I WOULD have my request. Unrelated to my situation the rest of the dinner experience was pretty depressing, when our food came out they weren't very friendly and didn't say a word like what you expect, and the vegetables were not cooked they were like hard and tasted weird, upset my stomach to be honest. We ordered the filet mignon, another steak, and Brussels sprouts along with some drinks. If something was going to bring me back it would've been the service and communication, but as you can tell it wasn't very good. I'm open to trying it again if they invited me back to be honest. We came here a couple of times on our weekend visit. That says a lot to frequent a place twice in one weekend. On Friday night, we just stopped in for drinks. The vibe was great and the staff was friendly. The restaurant is located on the 4th floor, so it's got a nice view. Look for the white and blue light on the sidewalk and then look up. That's Luke's! There are TVs surrounding the indoor bar area so it was great to watch some Friday night football. The other side of the bar is outdoors. There are high top tables and bar seating. There are heaters too to stay warm. There is also a separate dining area if you want a quieter vibe. The drink menu had lots of options. I ended up going with a hard seltzer. My husband got a more fun tequila drink. We met the owner and chatted with the bartender. Both were really nice. We liked it so much, we came back with friends the next night. We were seated at a table in the same bar area. That was our preference since we were a group celebrating a birthday. We got the hummus platter, wings, and the chef's VIP plate. I liked the freshness of the hummus plate. The dips were fun and the veggies were refreshing. The VIP plate was perfect for our table. It had meats, cheeses, spreads, crackers, etc. For main dishes, there were a couple of ribeyes, a filet steak, rack of lamb, and more wings. I got the rack of lamb. It was cooked well and I liked the accompaniments. Everyone else seemed to like their dishes. For dessert we got the chocolate cake and cheesecake. It was great to share the desserts. Luke's was honestly a letdown, especially for how much we were looking forward to it. Save your time, they were slow, and your money. First off, the place did not feel clean. The floors were noticeably messy, some might even say gross. There were random spills that clearly had not been wiped up, and even the bathrooms were bad. Should we really be able to see a plunger and a dirty toilet brush while washing our hands? Service-wise, our waitress was nice, but overall it was slow. We waited a long time for our first round of drinks, and when the food finally came out, it was not even hot, which made it even more frustrating. The food itself did not live up to the price. The "tempura" artichoke hearts were basically just heavily breaded and fried, not light or crispy like you would expect or like the menu suggests. The charcuterie board, which was over $50, was kind of shocking. It looked like a random mix of deli meats, basic cheeses, canned fruit, and filler. Nothing felt special or worth the price. It looks amazing, but do not be fooled by what you see around you. You are better off spending $25 at Trader Joe's. The ribeye was wildly underwhelming. If I wanted a steak I could buy at Food 4 Less and grill in the park, I would do it myself. The chicken somehow managed to be even worse, dry and lacking flavor. Lemon and capers, where? Overall, it felt overpriced and poorly executed. Between the cleanliness issues, the long wait, and the disappointing food, it is easy to say it is definitely not worth your time. Check out the Gambling Cowboy instead. This is a no brainer when you read the replies from the owner to any negative feedback. If an establishment feels the need to defend itself in such an unprofessional manner, that tells you everything you need to know about taking your money elsewhere. No ownership, just blame. Went to Luke's tonight for dinner, Friday night we did go at 4:30 PM a bit early for the crowds we Ended up staying for two hours. They have the best food, great appetizers. Tyler our server was amazing. He checked on us every 20 minutes if not sooner. The ambience is incredible. It's just a really nice place to hang out. Eat dinner have a few cocktails. On a last-minute Friday night, they accommodated our party of 12 and seated us right away. Hello we came here on Wednesday night . Filet mignon was good Rib eye needed more sauce. Fish came out cold. Chicken wrap was tasty , just a bit spicy . Service was a solid 2 . Choosing this place was the only mistake I made for our New Year's celebration. We came New Year's Eve at about 8 pm. The ambiance was underwhelming. The decorations were unimaginative and the whole vibe was just cheesy and cheap looking. It was raining and we did not get a view. The patio area was closed. Maybe that would have made a difference in the ambiance but not the rest of the evening. Honestly, this is a bar masquerading as a restaurant. I was fooled by looking at the website and the way it looks there made it seem like it was a really nice upscale place to go and so much more than what it actually is. Kudos to whoever made it do what it did. The food was passable at best, and it was hardly worth the price of $41.00 each for this. If you look at the two plates, they're totally different from each other. From a kitchen quality standpoint This is not acceptable. The plates should look the same when they come off the line. On one plate the salmon was properly proportioned: more of a rectangle. The other one was square cut and wide but not thick. We had three Broccoli florets each. Three (3). And three carrots. She had what looked like baby carrots and I had "regular" carrots. Notice how on my plate the veggies are dumped on one side (like as it was coming out the kitchen the cook remembered they were missing and dropped them on the plate as it passed him/her). On hers they are placed on opposite sides (as it should be). Plates were not wiped down on the sides, so presentation was just messy. The ONLY saving grace here was our waitress was phenomenal. Great personality, very genuine and personable. Her name was Melissa (hi Melissa! Thanks again). Hats off to her. And whomever made our drinks did a great job too. Saved the evening. Sorry, we didn't get her name. So, this would be a hard pass the next time we are down this way. read more
