Dinner at the Cantina last night. I opted to try something new. I ordered the Mariscos Vibrantes. It comes with shrimp, lobster, and Alaskan king crab in a tomato cocktail with avocado, cilantro, and lime. It's served with two tostada shells. The seafood was fresh and the cocktail was bright, clean, cool, and had a subtle sweetness. It is not spicy and it's not lemony. I appreciate that because you can build the flavor to your liking. I highly suggest trying this. I was also happy we had Robin as our server again. She is an amazing server who has an amazing spirit, and great energy. Came here during a weekend while the game was playing and sat at the bar. Was very busy bit the server was very nice and answered my questions on the menu. The crowd was very lively and it was loud due to the excitement. I ordered the enchiladas with chicken and green sauce. I like to try different restaurants enchiladas, and thesewere very good in my opinion. Chicken was flavorful and not tough or chewy. The sauce had a nice tang to it. They came with rice and beans on the side which i also enjoyed. I love that they still do free chips and salsa, and they are very good too. I believe the chips are made in house and the taste very fresh. The salsa is not too hot, and i love the taste. I also ordered a pomegranate margarita which was good. The restaurant is great, love the vibe, and the separation between the seat down area and the bar area. Our server last night was very tentative to ours needs and assisted with suggestions. She had a nice accent and she probably could have got us to buy anything, to tell you the truth. The food was good. I liked the light, crispy, and flakiness of the taquitos. The oxtail was sweet, which I did not expect. The churros were brown on the outside and not cooked on the inside, which was disappointing to us. The Birria which was fun to build it, but was a little bland. But the plate was finished. We spent about $85 for these things and an iced tea. I feel like this place doesn't get as much movement as the other restaurants cause it's the furthest from the gaming area. But gets a lot of service when there are conventions or events because it's on that side of the resort. If you have a chance, try it out. read more

I came here because I had a conference nearby and I didn't want to eat conference food. My friends had already ordered ceviche and chips and salsa were at the table. I also got myself a prickly pear margarita, which to me, wasn't the greatest. I had a few sips and that was about it. The ceviche was nicely plated but could've used some additional seasoning. Although fresh, it was quite bland to me. It was served with ample amount of tostadas. I had the pozole, which had some meat but a lot of hominy. It comes with a side of tortillas. It had more flavor than the ceviche but I would've liked to see more toppings on it with more meat. Service was pretty good, we were regularly checked up on. Immediately walking in, the aesthetic of this place is inviting and modern. We had a reservation that they willingly changed on a whim for us, which was super helpful! Plus, the waiter joked with us and we never had to ask for more water or drinks. Customer service is 10/10! Being Latinos, we were psyched to order horchata, but it tasted kind of like a powder mix, twirled into water quick. The chips were excellent but the salsa was sad, it had no kick. On our last day at Pechanga, we decided to grab something to eat at 1882 before heading back home. Once we arrived the hostess sat us in the bar area so I could watch the game while grubbing! The restaurant was clean, spacious with two sections (a dinning area and bar area) and it wasn't too busy so the service was pretty quick. We started with complimentary chips and salsa and the oxtail empanadas and they were delicious! They were so good we ordered another round of them. I ordered a carne asada and chicken taco with rice and beans, which were very good. The tortillas tasted like they were freshly made in house but when I asked they said they get them elsewhere but they are very good. My kids got a been burrito and the chicken tacos. My oldest wasn't a fan of the burrito and only wanted the oxtail empanadas, while my youngest enjoyed his chicken tacos. My wife ordered cheese enchiladas and enjoyed hers. Lastly the Jamaica was fresh and if I recall they do make that in-house. They wasn't free refills but it was so good, we had a second round of that as well. We love 1882- been here a few times- and previously I would have given a full five stars. I will say that our server was sweet and we felt bad for her. There was a concert that night and the place was packed and she told us people were coming in to sit and only ordering drinks and no food... She was amazing- however we felt that the food quality had definitely slipped somewhat and the prices went up. Sad because we really have loved coming here in the past, and I am sure we will again in the future. But other than that- it was a lovely evening. Also, we were way underdressed. We ordered the table side guacamole, Pozole (delicious), Queso Fundido (some of the best I have ever had), Carne Asada plate (okay), Cilantro & Cumin skirt steak (very good), Surf $ Turf burrito (good), Carnitas (meh), and several kids meals. My biggest complaint and the reason I knocked off two stars, the Poblano Rice. It was terrible, bland, basically unsalted white rice with a few chopped Poblano, no cheese, nothing. They charge $8 for a tiny container about the size of a yogurt cup. It was inedible and left a really bad taste in my mouth to have been charged $8 for 10 cents worth of rice. Most of the time I visit Pechanga, it's not for the food. Actually, that's pretty much all the time. While on our stay at the hotel, we were debating where to go for dinner, as there were quite a few options available in the area. While the food is a bit on the pricier side, there is good taste and quality. 1882 Cantina is thankfully located in the hotel lobby hall, near the gift shops, away from the hustle and bustle of the casino. It's great that Pechanga is a majority smoke-free casino, as many of the restaurants at Pechanga don't have full-wall partitions, so you can actually enjoy the flavor of the food itself. That being said, it gets cold in the lobby, and in the restaurant. The vents felt like they were on full blast and centered directly on me. Something to keep in mind. Salsa and chips are served, salsa isn't too spicy, but nothing to write home about. for appetizers, we chose their oxtail empanadas and the taquitos. While I'm not fond of empanadas, everyone else liked the flavor. The taquitos though, were very good. the toppings complemented the dish very well, and the portion size felt just right. The carnitas plate was full of flavor. The meat was nice and juicy, not dry, and the rice and beans didn't taste like paste...like some establishments serve. I really liked the beer battered fish tacos - mahi mahi. The filets were nice and meaty and everything within the taco meshed together well. We rounded out dessert with an order of their churros, 6 pieces with three different dipping sauces. Checked out 1882 Cantina before heading to a few wineries in the area, a great stop for filling tacos and margaritas! They have a nice selection of tacos. We had the carne asada street tacos, chicken tacos, fish tacos, and taquitos. The tacos were served with frijoles refritos and Mexican rice, very generous plates. The tequila lime vegetables with citrus chili butter, fine herbs, and seasonal veggies were actually the highlight of our group. Fresh, zesty, and perfectly cooked. Order them! Everything was flavorful and came out hot. The complimentary chips and salsa were also delicious and filling, the chips were warm, and the salsa was fresh and vibrant. The margaritas were tasty, and so was the Paloma. Service was friendly, quick, and consistent, even though it was pretty busy. Our server offered excellent recommendations, which we appreciated. Reservations are encouraged; even with one, we waited a bit, but it was well worth it. We enjoyed a relaxed lunch and never felt rushed. The staff is extremely kind and helpful! I absolutely loved the decor and lighting of the restaurant it's perfect for any meal. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass Veracruz and a Mangonada Mocktail. The mangonada mocktail is refreshing and has the perfect amount of tajin blended in; i did put the big stick in as well. For the sea bass i was extremely impressed with its preparation, it's got a smoked flavor and is served on top of a banana leaf. If you're at the Pechanga Casino in Temecula, and you want great Mexican, then head to El Taco Bar (off property), however, if you're not looking to head out and want to sit down and have some good Mexican, then this Cantina away from the dinging and donging of the casino fits the bill. The service was pretty good with lots of chips/salsa refills and the same with drinks. They have a cocktail menu and it doesn't have a "normal" margarita. C'mon guys... quit trying to be too trendy and just give the people what they want... Every Mexican restaurant needs a "house" margarita. I had to ask for one and honestly, it wasn't that great. I had the pozole for an appetizer and yowza, it was one of the best pozoles I ever had and came with a fixin's plate with spices, cilantro, onions, limes, and cabbage so you can decorate your soup and make it pretty. It was $9 and may be the best value on property! The Surf and Turf burrito was gigantic and had red and green sauce and looked absolutely beautiful. It was a very generous portion and I couldn't fit the entire thing inside me. This burrito was pretty good but really lacked shrimp (I think I had 3 or 4 shrimp). The food was generally acceptable. My wife enjoyed her green sauce enchiladas. No complaints there. She would order them again. I ordered the fajitas. I asked for half chicken and half steak. The waiter told me there would be an upcharge as the proteins are preportioned. Hmmm. I said no thank you and got all chicken. It makes me think the proteins are precook. I wondered if they can cook fresh food. The food came out ok. Not worth the price. My fajitas plate cam with 2 tortillas. I asked the waiter for more tortillas and he commented that he has told the manager to add 4 tortillas to fajita orders. I got the bill and a $2 charge for 2 extra tortillas. It makes me think this uncharted is all this restaurant really cares about. The service was great, other than it seemed like they were a bit shorthanded for how busy the joint was and we had to wait a bit to get drinks and refills. I came here with my husband, sister, brother in law mom and the kids. My sister loves this place and she comes often to this restaurant and she enjoys it. My first time here however with my mom and husband. I think food was good however there was a lot of confusion with our server and what food they can and can't make. She brought the asada fries however in a nachos form when we specifically had asked for the fries. They I was taking back for remake and so wasn't done the same way. It was done in a smaller plate which was frustrating bc we had to wait to remake the food. The dessert churros were super good though. Will return however expect better service. read more

The best enchiladas of my life! I came here last week with my parents for the first time and I haven't stopped thinking about the enchiladas since I left. I ordered two chicken enchiladas with onions and red sauce and devoured them in minutes. They were so good. The onion flavor really set these off in the best way possible. We had asked for samples of both enchilada sauces before we ordered dinner so that we could taste them; the red sauce knocked my socks off. It had such a great smokey chipotle flavor that made it stand out more than the green sauce and it was so good. The chips and salsa for the table were really great too. Fresh, thin, warm tortilla chips and a really flavorful salsa that wasn't too spicy or sweet but just perfect. I will definitely be back for more of these terrific enchiladas. read more

Located in Pechanga in Temecula, 1882 Cantina is an upscale Mexican concept. Came here with my wife for some appetizers and cocktails. Upon sitting, they give you complimentary chips and salsa. The chips are served warm and the salsa is herby, but light on spice. We ordered tableside guacamole, which was pretty delicious - I'd definitely recommend it as the salty, citrus flavors made it perfect to pair with beer. I had a cocktail with flavors from tequila and watermelon and it was definitely strong. I'm glad that I got what I paid for. Wife had beer on tap. We also ordered esquites (corn) with lobster and crab and bluefin toro tostadas. Unfortunately, their seafood wasn't fresh and we couldn't finish either of these dishes. Given that each of these appetizers are around $25, this strongly downgraded the overall experience to 2 stars. Hope you can have a better experience: Definitely come for their chips, guac, and cocktails. I'd recommend avoiding seafood here. I'd be willing to try some of their entrees; however, we didn't have the appetite for more food at this time. Tip: If you are new to pechanga and you join their players club, new members get $25 in resort credits that can be applied to your meal at their restaurants or food court. read more

She was rude and told us that there would be a 20 minute wait when the restaurant wasn't full because we did not have a reservation so we went to the bar Bartender David ignored us. And the bar back was too busy moving things away from the bar to at least allow us to put in an order with someone I want to leave, but my husband and best friend wanted to stay seeing that it was my birthday. And I'm glad that I did stay things shifted a little bit, but the food was absolutely delicious. The ambience was great. In addition, it would've been nice for the manager to come around to the bar to see if things were OK maybe that's something she should add into her routine making rounds to check in on customers. read more

We ordered shrimp ceviche, tuna ceviche, and chicken taquitos to start and they were all delicious. For main dishes, we ordered salmon entree and fajita with steak and chicken. Salmon was tender and moist with a flavorful citrus tomato sauce while fajita was hearty and tasty. My only callouts would be I wish the shrimp ceviche had more shrimp and less tomatoes and margaritas were made fresh instead of using a premix. Ambience is kind of moderate upscale. Keep in mind this is located instead Pechanga casino so don't expect much. It's a good restaurant to eat at and then go play at the casino. Service was friendly and chill. Our waiter was attentive and orders came out with good timing and pace. The place wasn't packed so that may have helped. Price was pretty reasonable and not too costly while portions were good sizes.
