Where do I begin!? We arrived at 1:00pm on a busy hot Saturday afternoon with a party of 8. The outside cooling misters were in full operation. We were greeted by a 'wonderful' hostess who was 'very accomodating' for our large party on a busy day! We were seated, in about 20 minutes, inside, at a couple of tables pushed together! We ordered different BBQ dishes from their extensive menu. Prices are about what you would expect at a 'real' BBQ place. This one did not disappoint! I got the two meat platter which includes two sides: Brisket - incredible with a nice smoke ring Pork Spare Ribs - this (about half rack) needed a bit more rendering but very tasty. Almost fall off the bone... BBQ beans - just the way I like them: sweet with a little heat and small bits of meat mixed in! Cole Slaw - not my favorite, but a strong showing: creamy and zesty This platter with two side servings had enough food to feed two or three people! Plus two slices of Texas Toast and a short stack of pickles! Everyone in our party enjoyed various items. We also tested the pudding and Reese's pie. Both were delicious!! This is the second or third time I come to this restaurant. I love it so so much! First of all the have parking, which is a huge plus! I ordered a plate to share with my party, with 3 meats and 2 sides. I was so bummed they were out of brisket and hot links. So we had to improvise and got pastrami, ribs and pulled pork. The meats were all delicious!!!! For our sides we got mac n cheese and coleslaw. The mac and cheese was pretty bad :/ the one from the box tastes better than this one. The coleslaw was delicious! I could smell the smoke from the parking lot.  The signs promised Texas bbq.  This month my old team had their team lunch at The Swing Inn Cafe.  Temecula is the furthest we have gone for lunch.  But there are quite a few Breaking Bad fans in the group.  Breaking Bad actor Dean Norris bought the place in 2023 and hired pitmaster Nick Yepremian for the bbq. Temecula is hot for a good part of the year.  I noticed they had misters on the patio which had a wonderful cooling effect.  I liked the old building housing the cafe.  Inside it feels like the old days. I ordered a rack of pork ribs with onion rings.  Onion rings were panko battered and had a crunchy exterior and nice onion flavor.  Ribs were coated with a delicious peppery dry rub.  The center of the ribs was tender and juicy.  I loved the mix of pork and smoky peppery flavor of these ribs. I also sampled the beef brisket.  Beef was tender and juicy.  The dry rub gave the brisket a delicious peppery flavor to go with the smoky beef flavor. This place is the bomb ! I hunt for bbq places like this straight up! The bbq was on point the sauces were good the sides were good the service was awesome , the ambiance was amazing . Would have been dope to see Hank from breaking bad but the food delivered hit every check mark . Staff are friendly.. They were busy so the wait was a bit from the time we ordered.. The food was a 3.7 of a 5.. We shared a three meat platter with two sides.. Brisket, Hot Links, Pork Belly Burnt Ends, Potato Salad, and Macaroni and Cheese.. All in all it wasn't bad and definitely worth the visit and experience.. The Briskit was Awesome! Hands Down The Winner of the Platter.. The hot links were good too.. The Burnt Ends were tough, but the flavor was good.. The Potato Salad and Macaroni and Cheese were ok.. The Macaroni and Cheese was barely warm.. We did try the SCHRADERBRAU and it was really good.. Too bad they don't give you the option to buy a six pack to take home.. Hank what happened? If anyone is wondering, this diner(cafe) in Temecula belongs to the actor Dean Norris(Hank), better known for his role in the classic television series Breaking Bad. I live literally 5 minutes away from this location, and never actually been inside. Just yesterday, me and my wife discovered that finally now, Door Dash allows deliveries from this location. Let's first start off with the potato salad. It was the most bland, non flavorful items I've ever tasted from a BBQ joint period. Hot links were Smokey, but dry externally, and cold internally. Brisket was dry with no flavor. Pulled pork was also extremely dry with no flavor. I actually tried to drench BBQ sauce over the entire spread, and it changed absolutely nothing. Speaking of BBQ sauce, non was provided. It's also a shame that I once spoke about the infamous Destination Smokehouse located in Murrieta just down the way, claiming that they were the worse BBQ spot. I came here only because of Dean Norris. I didnt read any reviews before hand and just wanted to try it out and maybe catch Hank Shrader on the prowl! We were unsuccessful in that but we did catch some pretty good bbq! I honestly thought that it's a celeb place, food will probably be mid, but was pleasantly surprised! Brisket was tender, flavorful, and juicy. Nice bark and great smoke ring. The pork spare ribs were seasoned well, also juicy and meaty. The BBQ sauces were perfect and loved switching between the spicy and original. Side dishes done well. I only heard of this place when I saw on instagram that actor Dean Norris purchased it. He has played many roles but I know him as DEA Agent Hank Schrader on the show Breaking Bad. What attracted me was the Texas Style BBQ and I've read plenty of positive reviews saying the BBQ is legit. Last Saturday on July 4th we made our way to Temecula to dine at the Swing Inn Cafe & BBQ. The town was packed due to a 250th birthday celebration parade. The parade blocked us from getting to the restaurant. We had to wait until it was over which was like 20 minutes. At the hostess station we were advised it would be a 45 minutes wait for a party of 5. The place was busy with customers but the employees did an excellent job in providing great service. 20 minutes later we were seated outside. There were six parties ahead of us but they didn't show when called. Guess they got tired of waiting. I ordered a full rack of the pork spare ribs with smoked beans as my one side. But when I got my food I had an extra side of smoked beans. The ribs were tender, thick and the meat came of the bone easily. It had a nice smokey taste and the smoked beans complimented the meat. I have to admit one of the best spare pork ribs I had in my life. My mom got the chicken fried steak with mash potatoes and gravy. The chicken fried steak was seasoned well and very tender. My step dad ordered Large Brisket plate with coleslaw. And my brother and sister in law both got the 2 meat plate with smoked turkey and brisket with sides of macaroni and cheese and smoked beans. The beef brisket and smoke turkey was very good according to my family. For dessert I got the cinnamon roll a popular item, step dad and mom shared a slice of apple pie and my brother got the coconut cream pie. Everything was very sweet and delicious. We were hoping to catch Dean but I figured he was probably spending time with family on this holiday. I ordered the sirloin steak medium rare, but it came out rare instead. I almost always eat my steak, but this one was too undercooked for me to eat. Rather than send it back and wait for another one, I took it home so I could cook it myself later. I requested cottage cheese with my meal, but I was served fruit instead. My girlfriend ordered sausage, but her plate came with bacon. Our order seemed to get mixed up all the way around. The sausage that was eventually served was undercooked and could not be eaten. We also asked for napkins, but they never arrived, so we had to get them ourselves from another table. Our table felt sticky and should have been cleaned better. When we were finished, we placed our check and credit card on the table and waited for our server to return. She never came back. After waiting, we finally got up and paid at the front register ourselves. We understand that mistakes can happen, but there were simply too many on this visit. The food was not prepared correctly, our order was mixed up, basic requests were forgotten, and the service never recovered. Because of the overall experience, we chose not to leave a tip. We were seated outside and it was quite sunny. When we were here 2 years ago, there was a jackfruit burger option. But looking at the menu now, the only vegetarian entree options were the popeye omelet and the belgian waffle or french toast. Everything else has meat in it. And there are no vegan options, unless you maybe order just plain carbs. The popeye omelet was good - buttery with lots of veggies. The french toast was good as well. Why are they always "short staffed today"? Oh, and the servers have no problem explaining it to you instead of just asking what we need. I don't need excuses, I need service. You'd think a guy with money would be able to pay to have more staff. This happens more than not. I'll have to really think about going back in the future. I'm a sucker for a good BBQ spot, and after hearing about this place, I was excited to try it. We got the brisket and ribs as a two piece combo with a side of Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. The brisket was nice and tender. It wasn't as juicy as I expected, but it was still good! The ribs weren't sliding off the bone showing "tenderism" but it was juicy and very good to eat. I personally love their house bbq sauce which elevates everything. I literally threw it on everything including the Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. Killed more than half the bottle after I was done eating. Also tried their famous cinnamon roll! We ordered it to go, and I honestly would recommend trying it fresh, but it's a cinnamon roll! It won't disappoint. Service-wise, you feel the hospitality right when you step in through the doors. Our waitress was very kind and accommodating even though it was a packed house. She made sure that all our needs were met and always checked up on us even though she was running around like crazy! The restaurant itself had a great smokehouse feel to it. I will admit that the long drive has something to do with the negative review, but I've driven far to go eat before and I still like the places. I believe that what I'm about to say is fair and maybe the drive is 10% influence only. She liked it and we made plans to go. I live in downey California, the drive to Temecula is about 60 to 70 miles, but there are parts where there's traffic so this is gonna be an hour and a half drive. Do not let this be your decision not to go, just making you aware, but nothing wrong with a nice road trip. So we get to the place and I was underwhelmed by the appearance, I was not expecting the actor from breaking bad to greet us or Skyker to be the hostess but I was expecting the place to look better, the Place looked old was my first reaction. I asked the hostess if there was a bar area and she told me yes, pointed out where I should go, and so we went to get a quick drink while we waited. the bar area was old and is not designed to host people while they wait for a table. Not Necessarily a bad thing, but it wouldn't hurt to make this area a better place to hang out and while they wait, they buy drinks. I do not work for bar rescue show, but seems to me like this is an obvious thing to do While all of the staff was friendly, I would say that two bartenders is probably the area of service where I think the level was below average because it seemed like they were just part-time bartenders or waiters that are asked to be bartenders because there's not a real bartender during the day my son ordered a beer and the glass was cracked and I do not mean a little crack, I mean it was cracked, and he almost drank it, before his mom stopped him. The area right in front of the bar, it was closed to the public or something, not sure but not a place to hang out. so I get it, not fully attended but it looked old as well, maybe you can cover it up better? Put something for the sun? Offer some shade. So once we got seated and got our food, the food looked very good.. The barbecue was not horrible, but it Nothing special. What we got is OK barbecue Our order: We ordered a burger for my son, this burger was massive, if you are the type that likes to post pictures of food, it will make a great picture. It would look awesome the reality is this reminded me of one of those places with very elaborate bloody Mary's, that add tons of olives and celery and this and that.....just because you add more stuff, it doesn't mean it's better, so that's what the burger reminded me, just throwing stuff in between the bun. So the burger was OK. My wife and I ordered a three meat platter, got ribs, briskets and pulled pork. And my favorite was the barbecue beans and the mac & cheese. were the meats bad? The answer is "no" but also not very good or even great, it was just OK like I said. Also, the staff asked us to move tables because they were getting a 14 person party, nice and politely they asked and we said yes, no biggy. But they told us we'd get a free desert. Did we get a free dessert? The answer is no, but we did not ask for it, by this time we were disappointed with the food. A spot where our favorite part of the meal were the beans and we didn't bother asking for free dessert, that should tell you,we just wanted out If you live nearby, going to this place is not a horrible place or bad decision, but do not drive all the way from LA and expect the place itself to look extra nice, it does not. and surely do not expect the food to be extra good, because it is not. If you are from LA and end up in this place, let it be because you wanted to go to Temecula, visit the wineries, maybe hit other spots, and this was one of the places that you visited but do not come here just to visit this place. We stopped by Old Town Temecula on our way home from Julian and my friend suggested Swing Inn Cafe & BBQ. There was free ample parking in the back. We asked our waitress about the signs about paying for parking, but she said we're all good those signs always scare people. We went on a Sunday and it was pretty busy. Once seated, we did have to wait about 15 minutes to be seen by a waitress. There was a miscommunication snafu, which happens. Once we did order though, our food came out quickly quickly. We ordered the pork belly mac n cheese as an appetizer. Then the three smoked meats including the brisket, Texas pork spareribs and the pulled pork. Our two sides were the potato salad and coleslaw. The brisket melted in my tongue and the spareribs were at the verge of fall off the bone, which I think is the perfect texture. The pulled pork was slightly on the drier side, but dipping it in the sweet BBQ sauce was amazing. Potato salad was really savory and creamy. The Texas toast was perfectly toasted, I think I had about 5 slices. I didn't have the mac n cheese, but my friends said that it was incredible. If I was ever back in Old Town Temecula, I would definitely come back here and try the banana pudding while I'm at it :) read more

First time in Old Temecula and went to the lavender shop. I asked the cashier what restaurant she recommends and this was one of them. Glad we went here. I went with my friend and shared the brisket plate which was recommended by our server. Also ordered coleslaw and coke. The restaurant is nice and our server was good. It was lunch time and there were lots of people so it took a few minutes before we were seated so the wait wasn't bad. The food was pretty good and my friend really liked the brisket. I liked it but I'm kind of biased since I've tried some of the greatest Texas barbecue in Austin, also a few other restaurants in Fort Worth, Dallas and Abilene. The brisket here is still good and if I lived close by, I would return but I'm from San Diego. Coleslaw was pretty good too. BEST BBQ WEVE EVER HAD!!! Oh my gosh this place is incredible. The meats are absolutely to die for. Flavorful, tender, falls apart in your mouth, everything you could want for BBQ. The Mac and cheese and fries were bomb too, and I love how you have multiple options for the BBQ sauce. I mixed all 3 together and it was delicious! Overall, this is some of the best BBQ. The service was great too and everyone was so friendly! I do wish that Dean was there I'm not going to die I love breaking bad and that was a pull to come try his restaurant! What a great find! Loved the setup and atmosphere at Swing Inn Café. The BBQ ribs were fall-off-the-bone delicious, and the pulled pork sandwich was packed with flavor. Their house BBQ sauces were all fantastic -- the spicy one was my personal favorite. The staff was warm and welcoming, and even though it was our first visit, we felt right at home. Portion sizes were generous (definitely needed a to-go box!), and the pricing was very reasonable for how much food you get. The coleslaw was the perfect side -- crisp, creamy, and refreshing. So heard about this place online and heard good things! We came here on a sunday afternoon with a party of 10 so it was about an hour and a half wait. We didnt mind the wait but there should be a way to contact your guests when your table is ready rather than waiting around the area waiting for your name to be called and possibly miss it. Service was great. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. No qualms about that. What I do have a qualm about it, is the bbq. Got the pork belly burnt ends and it wasnt even charred, it seem boiled. That was disappointing. The ribs itself were not really tender and more mulchy than anything else. The bbq sauce could not save it. The nachos and chili cheese fries were fine but nothing amazing. Considering the wait time with the quality of the food, I would give it a 2/5. read more

Great service but food was kind of pricey (pulled pork and brisket was a bit dry for us). The good we were seated right away and we were able to place our order without any issues. It included the pulled pork sandwich which was bigger than expected and came with a large portion of fries. The 2 meats meal was enough for two people and came with two sides. The pastrami was a hit for us because it was so tender and almost melted in our mouth. The brisket was a bit dry for us and the sides were good (mashed potatoes and mac n cheese). The vibe was more of a diner feel and some areas needed some maintenance/repair (some chairs were coming apart). We will come back and try their breakfast. read more
