The BBQ was good but was hesitant to dine in at first. Had an experience with a young lady who gladly and cheerfully greeted the two groups ahead of us but ignored us until she was told to seat us. When seating us, not even a word just a cold shoulder. I guess she must have asked someone else to work our table because another woman came to help us, she was very pleasant and made us feel welcomed after that very uncomfortable encounter. A local gem that can't be missed! Is that dramatic enough??! Well it should be, because they serve up some yummy fare here. They specialize in breakfasts and BBQ. We had a party of 8, and every one of us loved our meals. Our server was amazing, and this has the perfect 'greasy spoon' vibe. (Greasy spoon used in a loving way). We had one breakfast and 7 lunches. The BLT was perfect, the Wild West burger was huge and delicious. The brisket and pulled pork was on point and smoky good. We were seated outside and it was quite sunny. When we were here 2 years ago, there was a jackfruit burger option. But looking at the menu now, the only vegetarian entree options were the popeye omelet and the belgian waffle or french toast. Everything else has meat in it. I went with my friend and shared the brisket plate which was recommended by our server. Also ordered coleslaw and coke. The restaurant is nice and our server was good. So heard about this place online and heard good things! We came here on a sunday afternoon with a party of 10 so it was about an hour and a half wait. We didnt mind the wait but there should be a way to contact your guests when your table is ready rather than waiting around the area waiting for your name to be called and possibly miss it. Service was great. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. No qualms about that. What I do have a qualm about it, is the bbq. It included the pulled pork sandwich which was bigger than expected and came with a large portion of fries. The 2 meats meal was enough for two people and came with two sides. The pastrami was a hit for us because it was so tender and almost melted in our mouth. The brisket was a bit dry for us and the sides were good (mashed potatoes and mac n cheese). We stopped by Old Town Temecula on our way home from Julian and my friend suggested Swing Inn Cafe & BBQ. There was free ample parking in the back. We asked our waitress about the signs about paying for parking, but she said we're all good those signs always scare people. We went on a Sunday and it was pretty busy. Once seated, we did have to wait about 15 minutes to be seen by a waitress. There was a miscommunication snafu, which happens. Once we did order though, our food came out quickly quickly. We ordered the pork belly mac n cheese as an appetizer. Then the three smoked meats including the brisket, Texas pork spareribs and the pulled pork. Our two sides were the potato salad and coleslaw. The brisket melted in my tongue and the spareribs were at the verge of fall off the bone, which I think is the perfect texture. The pulled pork was slightly on the drier side, but dipping it in the sweet BBQ sauce was amazing. Potato salad was really savory and creamy. The Texas toast was perfectly toasted, I think I had about 5 slices. I didn't have the mac n cheese, but my friends said that it was incredible. Among them were the bacon, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and southwest omelette. The pancakes were our favorite; super fluffy, perfect size and very flavorful. They came out hot with a big scoop of melting butter (drool emoji). The other food was fine but nothing special. We didn't like the omelette too much because it was more like an egg taco than an omelette. The ingredients were not mixed in with the eggs as you would expect from a proper omelette. It was just placed in a pile in the middle of an egg tortilla and folded. The eggs were browned from being over cooked on both sides. Service was good but slow. Back to our favorite place when we're in town. We tried something different, the chili verde omelette, very tasty but not spicy for me spicy challenged. We went early on a Sunday and it was packed with a wait list. Of course. The wait was quick, maybe 10-15 minutes. We tried to order the Burnt Ends but they were out. So we got the Lean Prime Brisket, Texas Spareribs , Mac-n-Cheese and Baked Beans. We also added on a Jalapeno Cheese Link. Lean Prime Brisket: This was our favorite out of all the meats. Loved the flavorful bark on the brisket. Texas Pork Spare Ribs: A bit on the dry side and not our favorite. That was the whole reason for our trip. She even explained that it happens a lot where people come in for the Dino Rib and leave when they find out it was taken off the menu. Well we decided to stay. My fiancé got frustrated and told the front desk we wanted to pay for our sodas and leave. Our server FINALLY comes up to ask us what is wrong after NOT CHECKING IN ON US FOR 45 MINUTES! We explain that we want to pay for the drinks and leave and she says just give it a minute I'll give you a free cinnamon roll. She comes back and she's like I forgot to put in the order. THREE FAMILIES CAME IN AFTER US THAT SHE SERVED AND THEY WERE ALL EATING AND ALMOST DONE! She hadn't bothered to even check in on us. This place is awesome. We went there for breakfast. Dishes are pretty hearty and service was very welcoming. Cinnamon roll is a must. Wife got the classic eggs Benedict. She loved them. Got the brisket and eggs. Brisket was seasoned well. Went back that same weekend for lunch. I honestly forgot what everyone else had bc I got the beef Dino rib and also got smoked chicken wings. The rib was obviously huge but it was so tender, juicy and had so much flavor. The wings were such a surprise. Just perfection. read more
