We've been going here off and on for years when we've traveled through Temecula. The service is friendly and the food is excellent. If you love bbq, you'll love the ribs! They have lots of sports on TVs, both men's and women's sports, and a bar that circles round with plenty of seats. There are even TVs outside on the patio. We came here for a 50th birthday party. They have a private back room that was perfect. It was a limited menu for our event and the choices were chicken, Brisket Tri-tip, bbq sandwich or shrimp rice bowl. I had the rice bowl which was excellent. The staff were incredible. Waitress had spunk! Ambiance is casual and down to earth. There's a jukebox and I felt like all types of music was being played which made for a pleasant atmosphere. Hubby and I came in on a busy Friday and were greeted and sat right away. I had their dinner plate, 2 margaritas and 1 Mexican candy shot. This place is rather dirty. Came in with my husband on a Tuesday and it was rather dead. It appeared that regulars were onsite. The bartender sprayed on her perfume in front of us while at seated at the bar. After browsing around Old Town my husband saw a sign for "the best $5 margarita" so we knew we had to stop in. Now I can't say anything for the food but the drinks were great. We sat at the bar and our bartender was on top of everything. I loved being able to cool down and just relax with a nice refreshing margarita. I love they give a nice size as compared to most places with a deal. We definitely had a few before continuing on our shopping adventures. Went on a Thursday night and indoor and outdoor were pretty full. The food is A+. We ordered a variety of things and all tried each other's food. Baby Back ribs phenomenal, the chicken tenders on the kids menu... like some of the best I've ever had. You could tell they were homemade and breaded there. The Brisket Enchiladas were great! And the Becky's rice salad bowl was awesome too. Added bonus is it was a great place to take kids as well. The food here was great-really good! don't understand how anyone could rate this place anything less than a 5. The barbecue ribs were super tender (meat fell off-the-bone) and flavorful-excellent! The coleslaw and fries that came with the ribs were quite tasty as well. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich which was extremely tasty and juicy with minimal fat. I just love this place! I don't get it .. there's a diner right next door that's always packed with people.. and the few times I've been to Texas Littles. It was pretty empty inside. If people only knew they would bring the party to Lil's! I'm telling you .. , the place is so cute and so clean! The food is scrumptious ! My wife and I went to Temecula to find a new BBQ spot. Walked by several but decided to try this spot because of the reviews. Service was OK but nothing noteworthy. Waiter was personal but not attentive. The big disappointment was the food. I ordered the spareribs and they were very underwhelming at best. No smoke flavor at all. Boiled and finished on grill? Description indicated a dry rub used but not on this full rack. The sauce was bland without BBQ flavor...at all. In a word BORING. Should have ordered a McRib. Potato salad was OK but reminiscent of the boxed variety. Not in the food business but I can't understand why this restaurant doesn't make their own or maybe they try to make it taste like pre-made. Slaw was OK and could have been made in-house. Big disappointment and while the ribs were tender (boiled?) the meal wasn't worth the expense and won't be returning. I came in to Texas Lils today with 4 other friends . We all brought some outside drinks with us . The waiter only asked me to leave with my drink because it was an alcoholic drink . The other 3 drinks were non alcoholic but all open containers , Nobody else was asked to leave or take their drinks outside . The sign at the restaurant states that no outside beverage or food can be brought into the establishment . I feel I was targeted by the waiter because I am a straight male . Went here with family of 4 to celebrate son's 18th birthday . Told the waitress this as well. After we got our food , waitress never came back to check on us , refill our drinks or do anything for our son's birthday. When I asked to speak with the manager , she replied she was the manager. This place has the best beef ribs I've ever had. They're so good that I don't want to try beef ribs anywhere else for fear of being disappointed. I've returned several times with my family and have recommended it to others to try the beef ribs. The Lil's Sample Platter is also delicious. My husband and I love coming to the bar at Texas Lil's. The bar staff is friendly, fast and efficient. The drinks are great and we love people watching. What we don't love is the guy out front, he is abrasive and doesn't let anyone walk on, regardless if it is raining and cold outside or even if they just want to go to the bar. He is out of control and people leave just because of him. Attached picture is of him. Everyone at the bar was talking about how abrasive and rude he is. Management needs to talk to him, he is chasing people away like he is a bouncer at a nightclub. Poor couple waiting outside with an infant waited so long in the cold they left, too cold for the baby. Wow, wow, wow. Haven't had a rack of ribs that good in so long. Absolutely just flopped off the bone. No fork or knife needed. Have seen other reviews talking about poor service but that was not the case. Everything was pretty quick and food came not too long after ordering. It definitely was loud, so you probably shouldn't eat here if you're looking for something peaceful and relaxing. Lots of energy and fun vibes. A huge plus for the beanless Chili, fried zucchini sticks (handmade, light/thin batter, large juicy pieces of zucchinis... they are to die for!) and extra spicy chicken wings.
