When you first walk into this place you have hope for great Texas BBQ. They options are simple (as they should be for a real BBQ place), meats and a few sides and some sandwiches. I ordered the loaded brisket fries, 1 lb or moist brisket, 1/2 lb or burnt ends. The loaded fries were awesome and fresh crispy fries with 3 nice pieces of moist brisket on top. Highly recommend Burnt ends - my all time favorite and hard to get at a true BBQ place as they go fast as true burnt ends are limited. These did not disappoint and were spot on. Brisket - I like moist was real real tender and had a great flavor. We also had a side of the brisket baked beans and those babies were amazing. The have not a spicy and a regular BBQ sauce and I loved the spicy for sure. The regular is spot as as well and I just prefer spicy. The pit master and his wife (?) were super nice and the resultant was very relaxed and not loud at all. This is the BEST BBQ in the valley hands down. Sometimes, I'm just like everyone else. Similar others, I went with the two meat plate; brisket and (3 bones) ribs. Both meats were tender, smoky, with a well defined smoke ring with very good color. I got my food to go, but after seeing the nice decor inside, I kinda wanted to stay! The sides (Mac and cheese & corn) were fair, with just a little hint of flavor. I'll get the beans next time!!! I wantvto preface it by saying that I am no BBQ expert, in terms of difference types of BBQ. So.. The Brisket was absolutely amazing, just melted in our mouths. My experience with the pulled pork, that day, to me, was a bit dry. I'm not sure if the norm is to serve bread slices vs. rolls, but it wasn't my personal preference. I didn't care for the BBQ Sauce, not sure if it was an in-house recipe or "store bought", it just wasn't my personal flavor profiles. My boys liked the mac-n-cheese, I did not. Not a fan of pepper in mine (assuming that was pepper). Potato salad..potatoes were tender, which I really like but not my style of potatoe salad. Customer Service was outstanding, attentive, etc. I'm still on the fence whether this merits the cost but I think I'd go back for the Brisket alone and I'd love to try the ribs, since they had ran out when we visited. read more

It's whatever. I would have given it a two-and-a-half star, but those sorts of ratings don't exist on this site. The pulled pork sandwich was by far the best item on the menu. If anyone is curious about the rest of my thoughts for the other dishes, I will leave a description in the captions of each photo. Was in the area doing some wine tastings that were a bust, and picked up some BBQ here to take back home, and this was the highlight of my day. Tried the pulled pork and brisket, and the brisket is one of the better-tasting briskets I've had in a while. I thought the smoke was a little too heavy, and it was a little on the drier side (that's par for the course when you order BBQ at a legit place towards the end of the day). But, the flavor and cook were spot-on. I also thought it was a little pricey for half a pound versus the full pound, as I definitely should have ordered more had I known it was that good! Front staff was friendly too. A lot of places are "good for the area but wouldn't travel for it," but this BBQ place definitely has me rethinking of making the long trek again soon. read more

I came here on vacation on 2 consecutive days to get 2 pounds of brisket each day for my family to share. The menu is limited to brisket, baby back, pulled pork, and sausage but most people get the brisket. They sell it by moist or lean. I got a half and half of each to try and my family prefers the moist, fattier brisket. The smoke flavor is not overpowering and the smoke ring is nicely thick. The bbq sauce is good too. The man also added some burnt ends for us to try as well. Brisket is $34 a pound and the single platter with a side and pickles is ($17.99). The lady also gives slices of white bread with a container of pickles and bbq sauce. The couple is nice and wait time is not long. They have a good amount of seating and a good size parking lot. I recently moved to Murrieta and I stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant. MayBell's has the best BBQ in the Murrieta, Temecula area. Not only are the slow smoked meats amazing , the side dishes, especially the potato salad and coleslaw are incredible. Portions are huge and I have not had one disappointing dish from their menu. They do sell out sometimes so if you're in the area, I would suggest going in the afternoon. Best BBQ by far! read more

As soon as I opened the door to this magical place, I was hit with the rich, bold smell of wood-smoked meat and my taste buds were prepared for something really exciting to happen!!! I opted for the 2 meats & 2 sides option. Most of the items here were pork, but luckily they had brisket so I got double brisket, sweet corn, potato salad and a side of pickles. They served both lean brisket & fatty brisket. Both were delicious and sooo tender and juicy!! The brisket was not overly salty. By itself, you can definitely taste the love they put into smoking their meat. I like to dip the brisket in BBQ sauce and top it with a pickle for that trifecta umami goodness!! You get the perfect balance of smokey, sweet, and tangy. Omg it was so flavorsome!! Definitely dopamine high today!! The sweet corn was good and the potato salad was really good!! It had pepper in it with the right amount of tart and paired really well with my brisket. The place was very clean, restroom was clean too. Service was great, the owners are very nice and friendly. She came to check on me and ask how I liked it. I told her it was amazing and I love it! Love the music they were playing. Even though it wasn't really from my generation, I liked it, nice, pleasant, and upbeat. This place does not get the love it deserves. Overall, I enjoyed my meal. The brisket is fiiiire!! Decided to check this place out after reading reviews on Temecula talk. I ordered a half slab of baby back ribs, a side of the brisket beans, and a side of french fries. The brisket beans tasted like canned pork and beans with brisket. I was not impressed. The french fries were average, nothing special to talk about. The ribs, although fall off the bone, had an over abundance of cumin. The baked beans tasted like they had a lot of cumin too. The meat was tender, but not great. I have had better. They provided sauce on the side, and that was also over seasoned with cumin. If I didn't have any other choice, I might go here for the ribs, but I have choices, so I won't be back. Also, for $39 for my order, it just isn't a good deal. They charge you extra for bread and pickles, which Timmy is a rip off. read more

They have military discount. And the owner was very sweet & friendly. It was pretty empty when we came, so it was nice to have the whole place to ourselves. Clean & spacious. As for the food, my husband enjoyed everything. He loved the pulled pork sliders & sausages. The day we came they only had chopped brisket & the didn't have the normal slices. I thought the chopped up pieces they gave us were all the lean parts of the brisket, & didn't have any fat. So it was a little dry. So next time I'd like to try the regular slices. Today we visited Maybells BBQ after hearing about it a few years ago. We were in the area so we thought why not. As soon as you walk in the door you know you are in a true BBQ joint. The smoke smell hits you immediately. We decided on the beef brisket plate and the pulled pork sandwich. My beef brisket was very flavorful. The slices had a beautiful smoke ring in the edges. And the bbq sauce and the slices of white bread just made it that much better. I really loved the bbq sauce. My wife enjoyed her pulled pork sandwich. I told her I wasn't a big fan of pulled pork because a lot of places like to sort of pickle it and that is not good to me. The pulled pork is even good. I am so glad I came here. Was in the mood for BBQ so we decided to give this place a try. Small family owned place with friendly service. Went mid Sunday afternoon so it wasn't busy. All the food was very good and had good smoke flavor with a bit of spiciness. The chicken was really juicy and tender, even for white meat. The ribs were tender but firm and not squishy. The brisket was good but of the lean type, and we prefer fatty brisket. The mac and cheese was creamy & delicious. Potato salad was also creamy & delicious.
