When you first walk into this place you have hope for great Texas BBQ. They options are simple (as they should be for a real BBQ place), meats and a few sides and some sandwiches. I ordered the loaded brisket fries, 1 lb or moist brisket, 1/2 lb or burnt ends. The loaded fries were awesome and fresh crispy fries with 3 nice pieces of moist brisket on top. Highly recommend Burnt ends - my all time favorite and hard to get at a true BBQ place as they go fast as true burnt ends are limited. These did not disappoint and were spot on. Brisket - I like moist was real real tender and had a great flavor. We also had a side of the brisket baked beans and those babies were amazing. The have not a spicy and a regular BBQ sauce and I loved the spicy for sure. The regular is spot as as well and I just prefer spicy. The pit master and his wife (?) were super nice and the resultant was very relaxed and not loud at all. This is the BEST BBQ in the valley hands down. Wonderful Brisket! The staff is super sweet and has knowledge of the menu. We were greeted with smiles and were helped right away. Our food only took a few minutes. Sometimes, I'm just like everyone else. Similar others, I went with the two meat plate; brisket and (3 bones) ribs. Both meats were tender, smoky, with a well defined smoke ring with very good color. I got my food to go, but after seeing the nice decor inside, I kinda wanted to stay! The sides (Mac and cheese & corn) were fair, with just a little hint of flavor. I'll get the beans next time!!! Ok, read web site menu and made decision to go try this place. Web site lists fries as a side, but I was told fries weren't available with any menu item, they would have to be bought separately...asked how much they were, small is 6.95, I then asked my goodness, how good are they, was told they are a big portion...ordered potato salad and it was really good...web site menu says there are fountain drinks, there are not. They did have ice for a glass of can soda. When waiting for the meal at table, a lady came by and I asked if she was the manager, yes, I then mentioned the fries situation and she told me I could have opted to leave had I not been happy with it. It came off as confrontational and I commented on it. I told her the full information of website menu should be more clear, as I was expecting to get fries and a fountain drink. I would say a definite lack of communication there in that situation. The brisket was good but was also told the spicy sauce was more expensive than the regular sauce!?! Really? I'm not trying to be negative, just saying what happened. Following the meal, the same lady brought a box and was pleasant . We were welcomed by the owner and ordered half a bbq chicken, mac and cheese, coleslaw , and corn. Size was enough to feed two with some to take home! It's whatever. I would have given it a two-and-a-half star, but those sorts of ratings don't exist on this site. The pulled pork sandwich was by far the best item on the menu. If anyone is curious about the rest of my thoughts for the other dishes, I will leave a description in the captions of each photo. I wantvto preface it by saying that I am no BBQ expert, in terms of difference types of BBQ. So.. The Brisket was absolutely amazing, just melted in our mouths. My experience with the pulled pork, that day, to me, was a bit dry. I'm not sure if the norm is to serve bread slices vs. rolls, but it wasn't my personal preference. I didn't care for the BBQ Sauce, not sure if it was an in-house recipe or "store bought", it just wasn't my personal flavor profiles. My boys liked the mac-n-cheese, I did not. Not a fan of pepper in mine (assuming that was pepper). Potato salad..potatoes were tender, which I really like but not my style of potatoe salad. Customer Service was outstanding, attentive, etc. I'm still on the fence whether this merits the cost but I think I'd go back for the Brisket alone and I'd love to try the ribs, since they had ran out when we visited. read more

Tried the pulled pork and brisket, and the brisket is one of the better-tasting briskets I've had in a while. I thought the smoke was a little too heavy, and it was a little on the drier side (that's par for the course when you order BBQ at a legit place towards the end of the day). But, the flavor and cook were spot-on. I also thought it was a little pricey for half a pound versus the full pound, as I definitely should have ordered more had I known it was that good! Front staff was friendly too. A lot of places are "good for the area but wouldn't travel for it," but this BBQ place definitely has me rethinking of making the long trek again soon. read more

I came here on vacation on 2 consecutive days to get 2 pounds of brisket each day for my family to share. The menu is limited to brisket, baby back, pulled pork, and sausage but most people get the brisket. They sell it by moist or lean. I got a half and half of each to try and my family prefers the moist, fattier brisket. The smoke flavor is not overpowering and the smoke ring is nicely thick. The bbq sauce is good too. The man also added some burnt ends for us to try as well. Brisket is $34 a pound and the single platter with a side and pickles is ($17.99). The lady also gives slices of white bread with a container of pickles and bbq sauce. The couple is nice and wait time is not long. They have a good amount of seating and a good size parking lot. I opted for the 2 meats & 2 sides option. Most of the items here were pork, but luckily they had brisket so I got double brisket, sweet corn, potato salad and a side of pickles. They served both lean brisket & fatty brisket. Both were delicious and sooo tender and juicy!! The brisket was not overly salty. By itself, you can definitely taste the love they put into smoking their meat. I like to dip the brisket in BBQ sauce and top it with a pickle for that trifecta umami goodness!! You get the perfect balance of smokey, sweet, and tangy. Omg it was so flavorsome!! Definitely dopamine high today!! The sweet corn was good and the potato salad was really good!! It had pepper in it with the right amount of tart and paired really well with my brisket. The place was very clean, restroom was clean too. Service was great, the owners are very nice and friendly. She came to check on me and ask how I liked it. I told her it was amazing and I love it! Love the music they were playing. Even though it wasn't really from my generation, I liked it, nice, pleasant, and upbeat. This place does not get the love it deserves. Overall, I enjoyed my meal. The brisket is fiiiire!! I recently moved to Murrieta and I stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant. MayBell's has the best BBQ in the Murrieta, Temecula area. Not only are the slow smoked meats amazing , the side dishes, especially the potato salad and coleslaw are incredible. Portions are huge and I have not had one disappointing dish from their menu. Decided to check this place out after reading reviews on Temecula talk. I ordered a half slab of baby back ribs, a side of the brisket beans, and a side of french fries. The brisket beans tasted like canned pork and beans with brisket. I was not impressed. The french fries were average, nothing special to talk about. The ribs, although fall off the bone, had an over abundance of cumin. The baked beans tasted like they had a lot of cumin too. The meat was tender, but not great. I have had better. They provided sauce on the side, and that was also over seasoned with cumin. If I didn't have any other choice, I might go here for the ribs, but I have choices, so I won't be back. Also, for $39 for my order, it just isn't a good deal. They charge you extra for bread and pickles, which Timmy is a rip off. read more

As for the food, my husband enjoyed everything. He loved the pulled pork sliders & sausages. The day we came they only had chopped brisket & the didn't have the normal slices. I thought the chopped up pieces they gave us were all the lean parts of the brisket, & didn't have any fat. So it was a little dry. So next time I'd like to try the regular slices.
