California rolls
Courtney M.

The food was delicious. I got the teriyaki beef box that came with miso soup a roll of choice rice tempura and a salad, we also ordered the beef udon noodles and spicy garlic edamame as well as a few other rolls and chicken teriyaki plate Everything was delicious. No one had any complaints. Our service was awesome although the food did come out a little slow, our server was amazing. She was so sweet. It's casual vibe and great food I'm sure is what brings its regulars back. Definitely worth stepping in and checking out!

Absolutely love this hidden gem. My favorite sushi spot in all of Temecula. From the owners to the servers, ambience and absolutely delicious rolls. The restaurant is quaint and cute, love the vibe. Always enjoy my visits/dinner.

Still amazing! The fish is always fresh and delicious, the service is great and the people are the best!

I think the staff here are very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, wait time for your order is significantly lengthy. Considering the amount of customers that were present, I didn't understand why my order took an hour plus from order to delivery. On top of that, the orders came out sporadically so I was finished before my family members. On average, 15-20 minutes apart. The food was average but satisfying. Unfortunately, I would not come back.

Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Every roll was perfection! This place is very small but the interior is so nice. The staff is extremely friendly. Easily my new go-to spot for sushi in Temecula.

Upon arrival we were greeted immediately and was asked to put our name on the waiting list. There were two tables open and the entire bar was open. However since it was our first time there, we just thought the bar was closed since they didn't mentioned we can sit there. As they clean the tables another table wanted to switch tables, so that they got to clean that too. It's not a big place at all. It felt really busy though. I don't think they have a system down so it felt kind of all over the place. One person cleaned and sat everyone while the other two I saw was doing other things. The one person who clean and sat everyone also ended up taking our orders as well. She pretty much did everything. We ordered and sat, while doing that regulars came in because they sat at the bar and was served immediately. They knew what was up. Have we have known we could have save 30 mins waiting. It was so strange. Anyhow the food was good and very enjoyable. The service as mentioned although all over the place it was very nice and thoughtful. I would definitely come here again when in the area. Thanks a bunch for the recs. Can't wait to try their other dishes.

Yakisoba Veggie Noodles, Crunchy tempura, Cali roll, and salmon lover roll with a green iced tea.

I've been thinking about this meal and how good the sauce is for those noodles !! Definitely will be going back! Service was also incredible and provided for a beautiful environment for our Saturday outing.

I'd give this place 3.5 stars. I don't know if this place would have been better on a weekend due to being staffed better, but we'll see. I would still go back. My husband and I came on a Tuesday night around 8:30. There were a few tables open, but they were all dirty and covered in previous guests' plates. The host told us to wait there until they could get it cleaned up. It didn't seem too priority though and we waited awhile. It also took a bit to get the menu and a water order in. The table was really sticky so we felt like we couldn't put our elbows up. That being said, the food was good, the waitress was nice, and The food came out quickly. We ordered the sunset roll and the Cajun roll. We also ordered this thing called a firecracker that wasn't on the menu. It's a fried rice with spicy tuna on top. It also came with avocado on top. It was good. The Cajun roll was my favorite. Overall, I'd go back, but I'm hoping the service is slightly better and the place is cleaner.

Good, but a touch too hot for my personal preferences. Sometimes I really like trying spicy tuna just because everyone's take on it is so different. I would have liked a touch more avocado on my roll though - I actually forgot it was on it until I tasted a little. Got the lunch special and it came with miso soup and salad. It was a perfect amount for one person wanting to grab a bite. This restaurant has got an artsy vibe inside and I enjoyed sitting inside with the cool air when it was so hot out. Perfect for anniversary dinner:…read more Omakase sushi is one of the most refined and memorable dining experiences you can have, especially if you appreciate attention to detail, freshness, and craftsmanship. From the moment you sit down, there's a clear sense that this is not just a meal--it's a curated journey guided entirely by the chef's expertise and intuition. What makes omakase stand out is the trust you place in the chef. Instead of choosing dishes yourself, you allow the chef to present a sequence of sushi that highlights the best ingredients available that day. This often results in a progression that feels intentional and balanced, starting with lighter, more delicate flavors and gradually moving toward richer, more complex pieces. Each bite is thoughtfully designed to showcase the natural qualities of the fish, the texture of the rice, and the subtle interplay of seasoning. The freshness of the ingredients is immediately noticeable. High-quality omakase typically features fish flown in from top markets, and you can taste the difference. The fish is clean, tender, and often melts in your mouth. The rice, which is just as important as the fish, is seasoned perfectly--slightly warm, lightly vinegared, and shaped with precision so it holds together without being dense. Another standout aspect is the craftsmanship. Watching the chef prepare each piece right in front of you adds a level of appreciation you don't get with standard dining. Every movement is deliberate, from slicing the fish to forming the rice to brushing on just the right amount of soy or adding a touch of wasabi. It becomes clear that years of training and discipline go into even the simplest-looking piece of sushi. Omakase also introduces you to varieties of fish and preparations you might never order on your own. This expands your palate and helps you discover new favorites. Seasonal ingredients often play a role, which keeps the experience dynamic and unique each time you go. Service is typically intimate and attentive, especially if you're seated at the counter. The chef may explain each piece, offer guidance on how to eat it, or adjust the pacing based on your preferences. This interaction adds a personal element that enhances the overall experience. While omakase can be more expensive than regular sushi, the value lies in the quality, skill, and overall experience. It's not just about eating--it's about enjoying a carefully orchestrated meal that reflects both tradition and creativity. Overall, omakase sushi delivers a level of quality and thoughtfulness that's hard to match. If you're looking for a dining experience that combines artistry, flavor, and a sense of occasion, omakase is absolutely worth it.

All of the servers were friendly, attentive, and quick to check in on us. We never had to flag anyone down or wait long for assistance. The menu offers a great variety of options, making it easy to find something for everyone. We ordered the Black Garlic Ramen, Shrimp Tempura Udon, Garlic Edamame, and a variety of rolls. Everything came out quickly, was fresh, and tasted great. The ramen and rolls were especially enjoyable, and there wasn't much left behind except for the broth. The only item that missed the mark for me was the Garlic Edamame. It was coated in quite a bit of sauce, which ended up overpowering the flavor of the edamame itself. I'd recommend ordering it with less sauce or asking for it on the lighter side if possible. Overall, the prices were reasonable, the food was good, and the service was attentive. If I'm back in the area, I'd definitely stop by again.

I decided to pull out dream car #3, put my foot in her and swing by here yesterday because it was a holiday, and we wanted something different. This will likely go down as one of the worst decisions of all 2026. Dont get me wrong, 3.5 stars caught my attention, but finding a place with more than 3.5 stars in the inland empire is basically impossible. We saw the poor reviews, read them and concluded it was mainly a service issue. Let me tell you, its WAY more than a service issue. My first mistake was coming on Valentine's day, it was PACKED. Okay, no big deal however when the food came out disappointment is an understatement. First off they nuked my MR steak it was well done and dry, so after an hour I had to wait again for another steak, mind you im paying 55$ a plate for filet minion and a lobster tail. It comes out looking nothing like the picture. I am livid because at this price point the fact that they burned my steak and served both my steak and lobster in cut up over cooked tiny pieces is diabolical. My lady doesnt like me to be an a$$ to places so I am trying to be cool, but I just dropped 155$ and it was one of the worst meals I have had in immediate memory. Its a holiday and her treat, so I am trying to be nice, and the server, I think she calls herself "Sky" was cool so I didn't want to get upset with her. She brings another steak (in pieces) and it was cooked better but I didnt finish it. It was still terrible, I took the rest home to my dog because shes not as picky as I am. Its the next day and im still HOT, I burned 150+ on this place. I will NEVER be back. If your reading this, go to Benni hana instead. I cant even articulate the level of L this place was the shrimp fried red rice was hard. I didnt even eat most of my food. Just typing this, its reminding me of how much of a L I took choosing this place. Im so angry Ive been festering over this review for 24 hours.

Since we came on a weekday it was pretty quiet which made the whole thing really relaxed and easy. We got seated right away and the staff were warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in. There is also a cool glass window by the kitchen where you can peek in and watch them making the ramen which was cool. We decided to go with the lunch special and it was such a great deal. I ordered the 2 item combo with miso ramen, potato croquette and panko shrimp and it came out to only $14. The sides were definitely the highlight of the meal, both were cooked really well and full of flavor. The ramen was enjoyable though it did not completely blow me away. There's something honest about a new sushi spot finding its footing, and Toro Sushi leans into that simplicity in the best way. No gimmicks, no overreaching, just clean cuts of fish, thoughtfully plated, and priced like they actually want you to come back. The sashimi (even the "small") punches above its weight, fresh, clean, no nonsense. You taste the ocean, not the freezer. That's already half the battle won. The sleeper hit here is the bento box. It's the kind of meal that reminds you value still exists, generous without being sloppy, filling without feeling like a compromise. The kind of plate that earns repeat business. Come in around 5:30 and it's still catching its breath. By 6, though, the place finds its pulse, busy, lively, the kind of energy you want in a neighborhood spot that's clearly starting to click. Service was kind, and quick, food came out decent too. The tempura shrimp and veggies was crisp and not too oily. The room itself? Polished. Modern. Spotless. Someone cares, and it shows. But like any place finding its stride, there are gaps. The men's restroom is a one-person situation, and if you've got a kid, you're out of luck, no changing table in the men's room, us millennial dads are not afraid of a poppie diaper. Not a dealbreaker, but a miss in a family-heavy area. Still, Toro Sushi doesn't try to be the loudest spot in the room, it just quietly does enough things right to make you want to return. And honestly, that's the kind of place that lasts.
