Based on rave reviews and what I had heard thru the community, I was excited to try this place out. After all, I feel like good sushi and sashimi are hard to come by in this area. Anyhow, this was about 6 months ago, we had reservations but didn't really need them. Was seated fairly quickly with a friendly, accommodating staff. I ordered the sashimi combo and my mom ordered a bento box with a side of sashimi. It LOOKED great. Plated beautifully. Order came out fast, and timely. The minute I bit into my first piece, I knew something was wrong. It was spongey, almost water logged. Basically not the texture nor the quality I was expecting. I tried another piece, same story. When I looked it up after our meal I found that it potentially was due to improper thawing. Either way, definitely was disappointing. Marking this one off my list. Will stick to places closer to SD or OC read more

If you're in the are, this is decent sushi. Their nigiri was by far the best out of everything we ordered. Their spicy tuna texture wasn't my favorite and it was in our rolls, so I wouldn't get those again. The lava stones were alright, but getting crispy rice is hard to execute properly. We did have a longer wait from when we ordered, which was odd. My friend got their roll and we waited another 10 minutes for mine to come out. Honestly had low expectations considering Temecula isn't the Mecca of sushi. I was pleasantly surprised!! The quality of the fish is pretty amazing. It's comparable to sushi restaurants in San Diego and LA. You can't go wrong with anything as we tried sushi, sashimi, rolls and appetizers. The fish was fresh with no fishy aftertaste. Unfortunately this was our go to spot and to be honest, im not sure what's changed but the sushi isn't as fresh...the staff isn't as friendly and [[HIGHLIGHT]]theres a HORRIBLE sewer smell coming from the women's restroom[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. We've tried to give this place a few more shots, thinking maybe it was an off night but unfortunately its consistently bad. A very nice lunch/happy hour that's a good deal in Temecula! Service was friendly and quick too. We got a Philadelphia Roll and Cherry Valley roll. The Cherry Valley wasn't on the lunch/HH menu but was pretty fresh and was super tasty! The Tempura was plentiful also and came with a lot that was perfect to share. Sharing this so other new parents are aware. We came in excited to try this place and were seated given menus, and ordered drinks, an appetizer, and our meals. After waiting about an hour with no food, my husband went to check and it became clear our server had never entered our order at all. She then rushed to put it in, but by that point we had to leave. I'm a new mom and I have to stay on a schedule with my baby. We paid for our drinks and left without eating. Very disappointing experience and I would not recommend this restaurant for new moms or anyone on a schedule. Extremely disappointed. read more

Service is meh, food is great I've been here 3 times now and I think the food is some of the best sushi in the area. I've had 2 of their cooked rolls and I was impressed from the first visit. The only thing stopping my review from being a 5 is the luke warm service. The last 2 times we felt rushed to order and leave. The last time we sat down, weren't offered any water or greeted by our server just left at the table for about 5 minutes and then they came over and asked if we were ready to order. I literally had to ask for water and for time to look at the menu. The most recent visit was the same. We got in at a little after 8 and they close at 9 so we figured we had more than enough time but the waitress was giving off the "hurry up and order" vibe. We asked for a moment then she came back to tell us last call was coming up. So we ordered and like I said the food was great. A couple walked in at 833( they close at 9) and were turned away and they offered them no apology which I thought they should've. If they coach their waiters a bit better I could definitely give them a 5 but overall the service falls a bit short. read more

Very cute place. Really liked the decor. Everyone working was very nice. Everything we tried was delicious! I'm definitely in love with the calamari because I love when it's the tentacles and not the round ones. So much more tasty and fun to eat. We will definitely be back to try other dishes. Also got Salmon Carpaccio and a bunch of hand rolls: * Salmon Hand Roll * Spicy scallops hand roll * bluefin spicy tuna hand roll * Soft Shell Crab Hand Roll Ended up getting another bluefin spicy tuna which is at market price. Everything tasted so fresh and tasty. I wanted to order more but we were heading to a party. They offer omakase for $130 per person for 17 course! What a deal! Sitting at the bar is a must if you order hand rolls so that you can eat it as soon as it comes out to get that freshness and crispiness from the seaweed. Plenty of parking in this plaza. They offer so many specials straight from Japan. Not many places have amberjack but it was sold out. They close Sunday and Monday so inventory will sell out by the end of the week. read more

Let me say it comes in soy paper with grilled onions and a jalapeños on top. Some special sauce in the middle for dipping. Only you can dip the sushi because it falls apart. Walking in the restaurant was clean, and I really liked the decorative touches. It took a moment to get seated but once we were settled the food came out quickly. I came with a friend and we were able to have their lunch special which comes with a small salad and soup. Of course, I like the classic items and tried their Popcorn Langostino with their fried calamari as an appetizer. The food tasted fresh and I finished the langostino in one sitting. We walked in at 1pm and left at 2:30pm because the food, company and ambiance was great! Just make sure you are aware of the hours because they do close for two hours during the day (2:30-4:30pm). Youandi is solid spot to grab sushi. We snagged a table easily upon walking in around 6pm on a Saturday night. Service was super attentive and friendly. They serve complimentary soup and salad which I'd recommend- it was tasty and the lettuce was fresh. The crispy rice is a large portion and the tuna was delicious. The Yellowtail was okay- a tad fishy and the roll was a little sloppy. The Salmon Sushi and Shrimp Tempura were great. The Spanish Mackrel was the star for me- it melted in the mouth. Been to this sushi spot 1 time so far and I really enjoyed the food. The jalapeno bomb appetizer was great, tasted fresh, and the krab filling to jalapeno slice was great (no skimping here). I also had a salmon roll and that was very good, salmon was baked perfect, the rice to filling ratio was 40% rice 60% filling, which i prefer (hate when it's all rice) and it was served piping hot.
