We started with a few appetizers the spicy edamame was delicious with the perfect kick and a hint of sweetness. The fried tempura was fresh, crispy, and had that satisfying crunch. We also tried the rainbow roll, which was fresh and tasty. We ordered the spicy ramen as well, but it was extremely salty for my taste. I mentioned it to our waitress, and she was very kind, appreciated the feedback, and took it back right away. Great customer service goes a long way. Huge food offerings, but the sushi quality isn't there unfortunately. Service was great. I also like how clean it was because no one likes a sticky table. They also have their own designated parking lot. We tried several things in the menu from Takoyaki, Oishi Sushi Roll, Unagi, Yellowtail Hamachi, Cucumber Salad, & Seaweed Salad. I decided to try this place out and had my boyfriend pick up our order & I realized they got my order wrong & even added an extra roll and I tried to call to ask for manager so I can get some kind of discount because my order was wrong. Instead they hung up I called again asking for manager they said he would call me back but 3 hours later I call again and once again the manager is still busy and that the table of 10 is the reason why my order was wrong? wanted to try a different sushi AYCE spot out & decided to give this place a go! as much as i wanted to love it, it unfortunately fell short for me. the service was great but the quality of the fish wasn't. we came here on a friday night around 6:30pm with some friends & it wasn't busy so we were sat down right away! the ambiance was nice & it was really pretty inside. the servers were very attentive & nice. we all did AYCE and order a lot on the first round to try a bit of everything. most of the appetizers were good! when it got around to the sushi, we could kinda tell it wasn't going to be as great. most of the salmon was good but everything else didn't taste fresh. imo rice ratio on the sushi was a bit too much as well. they do have premium items on their ayce menu and its one order per person. i was looking forward to the uni but it was probably one of the worst things i ate there :/ most of the sushi tasted rubbery and extra fishy. we ended up not making it to the second round and paid extra for any leftovers. this place has potential, they just need to get better fresh quality fish for their sushi! read more

I recently ordered from Sakura Sushi through DoorDash for the first time, and I was impressed by the super-fast delivery--definitely a plus! I took advantage of their happy hour deal, which included BOGO California rolls and egg rolls, and also ordered the Golden Spicy Tuna Roll, Las Vegas Roll, and a katsu plate. The sushi rolls were good, but definitely not mind blowing. I've had better elsewhere-- but considering the price, they were reasonable. Unfortunately, the katsu was overcooked and dry, but the flavor was good. I might consider dining in next time to experience the ambiance and to see if the food is better fresh. read more

We thought we would stop and try this restaurant. We normally eat at a Sushi restaurant in Widomar. This restaurant is larger and has more tables. It has tables with chair, and booths that have firm but comfortable cushion. Our server was average, she sat us but failed to provide us with our napkins, chopsticks, and forks until we asked for them. The Miso soup had tiny pieces of tofu and green seaweed. Fairly sizable bowl and it was hot. We ordered Rainbow roll, an assorted fish, and Jessica. Eight pieces. They were average in size, meaning I could put the entire piece in my mouth, as compared to some other sushi restaurants that have extremely large pieces and others that are tiny. Hi, Sushi Girly Over here. Ummm the sushi fish didn't taste fresh at all. I literally picked up my order 13 minutes after order was placed. So the fact that it tasted that old & left out in my opinion is something to be looked at. The fish its self wasn't even cold at all. Thats not normal. Definitely the Rice was Old & Dry that was not even questionable. Plus No one was in there when I went to pick up my rolls I ordered. My stomach has been turning 10 minutes after I ate some of the rolls. Wish me luck, I thought I was over reacting from the fishy smell that came from the rolls, but now my stomach isn't feeling well. Writing this review in regards to an online pick-up order I placed through Uber Eats. I had been wanting to try this spot for a while, and when I saw they had a BOGO offer on select rolls, I jumped on the opportunity. Ordered two spicy tuna rolls, one Cajun tuna roll, and one yellowtail maki roll. Favorite roll was the yellowtail maki roll, the least favorite were the spicy tuna rolls, due to the fact that they had a fishy taste. Not sure what was going on there but spicy tuna should not taste fishy. The Cajun roll was edible, but nothing to write home about. I can't really comment on the service since this was a pick-up order, but the interaction was pleasant. The hostess that handed off my order seemed pleasant and friendly. The interior of the restaurant looks fancy, but I did notice that they have a "no public restroom" sign on the door. The sushi was good, and the restaurant decor is really nice, but the staff could use some training. We did AYCE, buy 3 get one free, otherwise their price is about $10 more than other local spots. The servers would only come by to grab the sheet or refill our waters if we flagged them down, otherwise they were just sitting at a table and chatting, not paying attention. At one point, we had a table full of dirty dishes and when they came by to grab the sheet, they looked at the dishes and didn't pick them up. It's been a long 12-hour shift today working manual labor and I was ready to eat a horse. Their AYCE price is moderate at $45/person for dinner but it is worth every single penny to indulge your taste buds. Particularly, something that caught my eye was the dragon egg. This is an appetizer they offer but it's a deep fried avocado with tuna, cream cheese, and crab. It was so bomb. I just wish I ordered it at the beginning rather than the end because now I feel like I'm gonna explode lol. The owner and sushi chef, Daniel, just moved here a month ago from Houston. Been here a handful of times, typically for take-out since alot of times they are busy at night. I most often get the spicy tuna roll, the salmon maki, and an eel roll. The sushi pieces are decent sized and they dont skimp on the filling either. The baked rolls with eel on them always taste fresh and are hot even when i go to pick-up, and the salmon maki typically always have a hefty fresh slice of salmon in them. Only reason im not here more often is cuz it is a little bit pricey, but for the amount of food i do think it's worth the splurge. read more

It had a really interesting concept of cherry blossom trees inside that reminded me of Cloak & Petal in SD! Since we were the first ones in here for lunch, we were the only ones. We ordered mainly variations of salmon sushi; baked, raw, spicy salmon, etc. They all came out really quickly (thanks to the Sushi Chef!), and they all were so delicious. I loved all of the sushi we had, which was the the In n' Out, Lion King, Cajun Salmon, Philadelphia and a Jessica Roll. Our favorite were the Cajun Salmon and Lion King rolls! The sushi was so fresh and torched perfectly for the baked salmon sushi rolls. Saw their ad on instagram and caught my eye with the AYCE for $40 all of December. Came on a Tuesday afternoon and no one was there. The place was so pretty and clean, it was a nice ambiance! The portions were HUGE even though it's AYCE, they were monster rolls. I have never seen such huge AYCE rolls before. I ate there with my bf and we were so stuffed we didn't even touch our plates because the pieces were so big, off one bite you're full. It was the point we had to pause our nigiri and everything else because our table filled up fast. The service was great! They helped out on accommodating us because we couldn't finish our food. I'd been craving sushi, but we just hadn't found "The Spot" yet since we had moved. Little did I know that a pizza place requiring a mask when I'd forgotten mine would be the answer. We had to pull an audible and instead of pizza we went next door for sushi. This place was great! Myself, my wife, and our daughter walked in and we're told to sit where we would like so we grabbed a booth next to the window. A server came over with napkins and utensils and took our drink orders, while we scanned the menu on our phones from the QR code. When she returned with our drinks we were ready to order. We got the kids chicken teriyaki for our daughter. It was a generous portion with rice and orange slices. The chicken was cooked well and not dried out. The sauce was tasty and had a citrus flavor to it. They also made a face in the rice with edamame and a carrot stick for the kids! I had the Tokyo Lunch Special which was some sashimi, a few pieces of sushi, and a crunchy California roll. My wife had the Chef Lunch Special which was a spicy tuna roll, two pieces of sushi, and I believe a crunchy California roll. We also decided to throw in a Dragon Roll to split. We were in town and needed a sushi fix. A local recommended this place, so we gave it a try. We were there around 8:00pm on a Friday night. We were 1 or 2 couples there and no other patrons. We originally planned to go to another place in Old Town, but they had a temporary banner outside, it looked like it was under new mgt, and few people inside.we decided to look on Yelp and saw pretty good reviews of Sakura. The service was fast and the people were friendly. The sushi was, OK. Not our usual LA quality, but it was doable. We had 1 large roll ,911? (I forgot the name), sushi and tempura. The tempura and sushi came out pretty quickly as if they were already made. The roll was pretty good. The salmon, yellow tail, and tuna sushi were just ok. Maybe their other rolls are better? All in all, we were hungry and thus worked for us and the people were nice. If there are other higher rated places, I suggest trying those.
