    Pacific Ocean roll (tuna tataki)
    Jean S.

This place is sooo good. My faves are the Aqua Fresh roll (comes in soy paper) and the Pacific Ocean roll (has tuna tataki). Fish is always fresh, plus the chefs behind the bar are welcoming and the service is friendly. A great place to meet a friend or grab a meal solo!

Very fresh fish. Sushi & roll platter for lunch is $20 with choice of 4 rolls. Comes with salad & miso soup as well. Very friendly service. Highly recommended!

We love this place! Their food is amazing, and honestly, we have had the same female server each time and she is wonderful! It's a bit small and casual but what they lack in size is made up for with their tasty food! The only reason for the lack of one star is unfortunately each time l have come (and ordered almost identical things), l have had extremely bad tummy issues thereafter. So l will one by one be omitting one item of my usual order to see what item it is and just not eat that item. The ramen is delicious. The best we've had in the area. My kids eat it up! My husband loves the spicy edamame. He always gets a sushi roll and says they are good. I love the tempura and cucumber rolls, which l order often whenever l go to a sushi place. But not every place has a tempura roll. I love the extra crunch they bring. Their tempura on its own is amazing. If you're in the area looking for a good sushi place, Sushi Plus One is not to be missed!

Family and I stopped by here on the way to San Diego and man was this a great spot! Sushi was fresh and the chirashi bowl was filled with an assortment of yummy fish. I also ordered their yellow tail sashimi and it was super good. Their bento and fried dishes were also good as my family ordered some. The service was also great and welcoming. The sushi chefs were great guys who care about their craft. We also came on a fun night called "Sake Night" so everyone got free shots so it was fun! The sushi chefs took some shot with the customers as well so that added to the fun atmosphere as well. The food was also relatively fairly priced and the quality more than makes up for the price of good sushi/sashimi. If you're around the area I highly recommend this spot!

    Chef's special roll "Freeman"

Came back to Sushi Plus One after a while, and it reminded me why I love this place. The sushi was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. Every bite tasted clean and high quality. The chef's special roll called Freeman roll was flavorful and perfectly balanced. The salmon skin salad was absolutely outstanding. The crispy salmon skin paired with the fresh greens and flavorful dressing created an amazing mix of texture and taste. It's easily one of our favorite dishes here. What makes this place even more special is the chef. He is genuinely kind, welcoming, and attentive, which makes the whole dining experience even better. Overall, everything from the food quality to the overall experience was fantastic. If you're in Murrieta/Temecula area and craving sushi, this spot is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

    Sushi and roll lunch special

Everything was amazing at Sushi Plus One. We were very warmly greeted as soon as we entered. They were friendly and the atmosphere was nice. She checked on us regularly to make sure we were good. We ended up getting garlic edamame (delicious!), Gyoza (perfectly fried), two lunch specials. She also informed us that the toro was especially good that day so we ordered a 2 pieces. The lunch specials came with miso soup and let me tell you when I saw the color on that thing I knew it was going to be delicious. I got myself a refill it was that good. Foe the lunch specials my wife for the sushi and roll and I got the sushi sampler. Every piece was deliciously made by the chef who talked to us about what he had made. They were all unique and very very tasty. We finally got the toro sushi. These pieces were off the premium menu and they certainly lived up to it. No extra sauce required as it had its own special mix. It melted in our mouths as we are it perfectly balanced. Me have found ourselves our new sushi place here in Murrieta.

Decided to try a new spot today with my co worker on our lunch break and it didn't disappoint!! Waitress was really friendly and attentive I didn't get her name :( We only have an hr lunch break and it was nice finding somewhere we can get good sushi and good timing. The sushi was really good I got the rainbow and crunch roll and my co worker got the chicken yakisoba that was really good too!! Their lunch specials are really nice as well! $22 and you can pick out of the 6 different rolls. They had good options and different lunch specials to choose from. I like that you also get the soup and salad with the lunch special. The green tea ice cream was really good too.

Refreshing alternative to my usual Sushi-ya in Temecula and a great find as well. Far better than all the others, and reminiscent of the quality I get in Japan. Ordered the Dodgers Roll, Eel Roll, and an order of Maguro for pickup. Upon arrival noticed that the place was clean, and resembled the appearance of modern Japanese shops, but the Brittney Spears music playing was a little off Return home to enjoy with a bottle of Sake from Yamagata Prefecture. Everything was delicious I have found my place in California! Great taste, fresh, reasonable prices, great customer service, and close to home.

This is coming from someone that has 6years of experience as a waitress, part of that working in a sushi restaurant. The staff was very unkind to my mother for having a gluten allergy. They stated that she cannot have the rice because of having gluten in it?? My mom react to the soy sauce, we have not had a problem with the sushi rice from this location. The tone that the first male server gave was giving "this is an inconvenience" so by stating the rice claim, almost to get us to leave all together. Then he says he will have all the rolls not have any sauce on top which was nice of him to offer. Then we had female waitress, Kelly, who we tried to ask a a question as she was passing. I watched her sit a table, clean a table, place a check before coming back to answer our question. (All I understand) until she walks by our table and pretends not to look at us. So I have to stop her again because one of the roles had a sauce on top. So I asked her if the sauce had gluten in it. Again. (2nd time I asked this question from her passing by twice) she acted as if this was a new question, and was trying to walk away. She assured the sauce does have gluten. So I told her that we already explained to the male sever that we cannot have gluten in the sauces. We kept that roll for the gluten people and order another roll for my mom to eat. She then asks us for another round of tea and brings us a teapot of just hot water.... Overall, I cannot stand when servers make you feel like an inconvenience. The Hana sushi staff by chaparral on Winchester is MUCH FRIENDLIER we are regulars to both locations. After this encounter, we all agreed we will make it a point to only go to the Winchester location as they are very kind and attentive to my mother's allergies.

Here's a version with a smarter, warmer tone and some playful humor:…read more Some restaurants serve great food. Others make you feel like family. Ryu somehow manages to do both. We've been coming here since they first opened years ago, and it's still our go-to sushi spot. Jenny is an absolute treasure. She somehow remembers details about our family and friends that even we occasionally have to stop and think about. She knows our usual order, remembers which sauces we love, and greets us like we've just returned from a long voyage instead of missing sushi night. At this point, we're fairly certain she has either a photographic memory... or an FBI-level file on us. Either way, we adore her. As for the food? Dangerous. The sushi is phenomenal, the miso soup is pure comfort in a bowl, the tempura is perfectly crisp, and the ramen and noodle dishes are outrageously delicious. Every visit begins with, "We'll keep it light today," and ends with us wondering if there's enough room for "just one more roll." The restaurant is always spotless, the décor is beautiful, and the entire atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing. Ryu has spoiled us to the point that eating mediocre sushi elsewhere now feels like a personal betrayal. We'll see you all again very soon... probably sooner than our waistlines would recommend!

When I asked him why he didn't use the whole pre-portioned amount, he made up multiple excuses such as: he couldn't put the raw chicken into the dish with the cooked chicken (then why didn't you use the whole thing when you started cooking?); another excuse was that he would get in trouble if he used all the pre-portioned chicken; and another one was we would have to pay extra if we wanted him to use all the pre-portioned chicken. Well, that didn't sit well with me since my chicken fried rice was all vegetables and hardly any chicken. When I brought this up to our server, she apologized and took the rice off the bill. Perfect for anniversary dinner:…read more Omakase sushi is one of the most refined and memorable dining experiences you can have, especially if you appreciate attention to detail, freshness, and craftsmanship. From the moment you sit down, there's a clear sense that this is not just a meal--it's a curated journey guided entirely by the chef's expertise and intuition. What makes omakase stand out is the trust you place in the chef. Instead of choosing dishes yourself, you allow the chef to present a sequence of sushi that highlights the best ingredients available that day. This often results in a progression that feels intentional and balanced, starting with lighter, more delicate flavors and gradually moving toward richer, more complex pieces. Each bite is thoughtfully designed to showcase the natural qualities of the fish, the texture of the rice, and the subtle interplay of seasoning. The freshness of the ingredients is immediately noticeable. High-quality omakase typically features fish flown in from top markets, and you can taste the difference. The fish is clean, tender, and often melts in your mouth. The rice, which is just as important as the fish, is seasoned perfectly--slightly warm, lightly vinegared, and shaped with precision so it holds together without being dense. Another standout aspect is the craftsmanship. Watching the chef prepare each piece right in front of you adds a level of appreciation you don't get with standard dining. Every movement is deliberate, from slicing the fish to forming the rice to brushing on just the right amount of soy or adding a touch of wasabi. It becomes clear that years of training and discipline go into even the simplest-looking piece of sushi. Omakase also introduces you to varieties of fish and preparations you might never order on your own. This expands your palate and helps you discover new favorites. Seasonal ingredients often play a role, which keeps the experience dynamic and unique each time you go. Service is typically intimate and attentive, especially if you're seated at the counter. The chef may explain each piece, offer guidance on how to eat it, or adjust the pacing based on your preferences. This interaction adds a personal element that enhances the overall experience. While omakase can be more expensive than regular sushi, the value lies in the quality, skill, and overall experience. It's not just about eating--it's about enjoying a carefully orchestrated meal that reflects both tradition and creativity. Overall, omakase sushi delivers a level of quality and thoughtfulness that's hard to match. If you're looking for a dining experience that combines artistry, flavor, and a sense of occasion, omakase is absolutely worth it.

All of the servers were friendly, attentive, and quick to check in on us. We never had to flag anyone down or wait long for assistance. Everything came out quickly, was fresh, and tasted great. The ramen and rolls were especially enjoyable, and there wasn't much left behind except for the broth. The only item that missed the mark for me was the Garlic Edamame. It was coated in quite a bit of sauce, which ended up overpowering the flavor of the edamame itself. I'd recommend ordering it with less sauce or asking for it on the lighter side if possible. Overall, the prices were reasonable, the food was good, and the service was attentive.
