0 STARS - Extremely Disappointing Experience We were regulars at YouandI Sushi back when Chris was the owner and head chef, and we always enjoyed coming in. We had been going to his new restaurant, Onori, but the line was out the door (well deserved!), so we decided to give YouandI another visit instead. Biggest mistake. From the moment we arrived, the experience was disappointing. We initially requested to sit at the sushi bar as a party of five. The staff cleaned it up for us, only to tell us when we went to sit down that they had miscounted and couldn't accommodate us. We were then offered a table where we would have to squeeze in, followed by a booth. Fine, things happen, and we were willing to be flexible. Then came the service, or lack thereof. We ordered beers, and our young server brought them out without any glasses. We waited over 15 minutes for chilled glasses. To his credit, he eventually poured our beers for us, which was a nice gesture. However, he then turned to walk away without asking if we were ready to order food. Someone at our table actually had to stop him to place our order. The timing of the food was absolutely unacceptable. I completely understand that sushi takes time to prepare, especially when it comes to hand-crafted dishes like hand rolls that should be served promptly to prevent the nori from becoming soggy. We weren't expecting everything to arrive instantaneously, but there is a difference between taking the time to prepare quality food and providing disorganized, unprofessional service. Our food arrived in completely disjointed intervals. One person received their food, then we waited another 20 minutes for someone else's, and the pattern continued. The last person in our party ordered two rolls and two pieces of nigiri. They received only the nigiri, and we had to ask what happened to the rolls. They had completely forgotten about them. Throughout this entire experience, no one offered water refills or checked whether we needed anything. It honestly felt as though the staff were more concerned with cleaning up and closing the restaurant for the night than taking care of the customers who were still dining. And then there was the bill. I understand the value of quality sushi. I understand the cost of importing ingredients, the skill required of a sushi chef, and the work that goes into preparing fresh fish. I am absolutely willing to pay for quality. What I am not willing to pay for is an overpriced meal accompanied by some of the most disappointing service I've experienced at a sushi restaurant. We split the check between our party of five, and our portion alone was $238 for just two people. We weren't paying the bill for the entire table; $238 was simply our share. I genuinely could not believe it. For that price, I expect exceptional food, attentive service, and an overall experience that makes the cost worthwhile. This was nowhere close. For comparison, Chris's restaurant, Onori, is ten times better in both quality and overall experience, at a fraction of the price. After visiting Onori, it's especially difficult to justify spending this kind of money at YouandI. Honestly, the pricing is the only thing that makes this experience even more frustrating. If you're going to charge premium prices, the food, service, and overall experience need to reflect that. Here, they simply don't. It's disappointing to see a restaurant we once frequented fall so far from what we remember. We gave YouandI a chance out of familiarity, and we left wishing we had waited in the line at Onori instead. Save your money and go to Onori. You'll get a much better experience and won't leave wondering how a dinner for two cost $238 when the service couldn't even keep track of your food.
Service was quick and friendly. We were there on a weekend for dinner and were seated right away. Ordered the tempura udon and it was delicious. Lots of food too! We also liked the rolls that we ordered

If you're in the are, this is decent sushi. Their nigiri was by far the best out of everything we ordered. Their spicy tuna texture wasn't my favorite and it was in our rolls, so I wouldn't get those again. The lava stones were alright, but getting crispy rice is hard to execute properly. We did have a longer wait from when we ordered, which was odd. My friend got their roll and we waited another 10 minutes for mine to come out. Inside is pretty; it does give a fun sushi experience.
Be warned, this is NOT THE SAME OWNER!! So we've been going there for years, proportions have went significantly small and the quality of fish is not the same! Only giving it an extra star because it was such a special restaurant and I believe they can fix this and go back to what was originally served.
Don't let the location fool you. This is a GEM- a great find. We almost doubted the reviews and pictures but so glad we stopped here for dinner. Typically we have a few spots in riverside or corona we go to.... We ventured out a little and were not disappointed. This is some of the best sushi we had in awhile. The quality was melt in your mouth good- super fresh. This is what we ordered. Coronado roll Rainbow roll Salmon, tuna, toro two piece sushi- we could eat a bucket of toro if it was offered. No soy sauce needed. Softshell crab and spicy salmon hand roll. If you get a chance to try their soft shell crab, do it. The hand rolls were on the smaller side but what's on the inside was quality fish. Don't miss out on this hole on the wall sushi spot. We went on a Friday night and did not have to wait long for a seat. Great lighting, with friendly and helpful waiters. We will be back. The pictures don't capture the taste
Been here for my husband's birthday a couple times and couple times with friends. It's good and fun and we always have a good time. I believe it's the hot lava stones that are really a treat! Service is good also.
Honestly had low expectations considering Temecula isn't the Mecca of sushi. I was pleasantly surprised!! The quality of the fish is pretty amazing. It's comparable to sushi restaurants in San Diego and LA. You can't go wrong with anything as we tried sushi, sashimi, rolls and appetizers. The fish was fresh with no fishy aftertaste. What made it even better was the customer service provided by Mateo! He was enthusiastic and friendly. He made sure we were taken care of! I will definitely be back!!!
The Popcorn Langostino is my new favorite. It is was well presented with a generous portion. The staff were friendly and when my daughter's order had one extra unwanted ingredient, another order was prepared without question. It does get uncomfortably warm inside, so you may need to step out for some fresh air every once in a while. read more

Our favorite sushi spot. Have tried almost all sushi spots all over the area but we always come back here. Fresh seafood,cool ambiance,friendly staff,reasonable price and family favorite. Location is convenient near the freeway exit for those non locals wanting a quick stop. Highly recommended! read more

Who gave this place a 4.7 needs to be kicked in the nuts... it's a 3 at best, the sushi falls apart. It's a basic sushi wrap. I ordered the Chris special. Let me say it comes in soy paper with grilled onions and a jalapeños on top. Some special sauce in the middle for dipping. Only you can dip the sushi because it falls apart. The service was quick and the restaurant is clean. The menu has a variety of sushi choices. I'll never eat here again to try anything else on the menu. The potsticker appetizers were really good. read more

Walking in the restaurant was clean, and I really liked the decorative touches. It took a moment to get seated but once we were settled the food came out quickly. I came with a friend and we were able to have their lunch special which comes with a small salad and soup. Of course, I like the classic items and tried their Popcorn Langostino with their fried calamari as an appetizer. The food tasted fresh and I finished the langostino in one sitting. We walked in at 1pm and left at 2:30pm because the food, company and ambiance was great! Just make sure you are aware of the hours because they do close for two hours during the day (2:30-4:30pm). Will be back for another luncheon. read more

Despite visiting this restaurant often, I am still blown away by how fresh their fish is. In comparison to other sushi spots in Temecula, YouandI Sushi is unique in the way that they have a close relationship with their customers and make sure that all guests are well fed upon their visit. Youandi is solid spot to grab sushi. We snagged a table easily upon walking in around 6pm on a Saturday night. Service was super attentive and friendly. They serve complimentary soup and salad which I'd recommend- it was tasty and the lettuce was fresh. The crispy rice is a large portion and the tuna was delicious. The Yellowtail was okay- a tad fishy and the roll was a little sloppy. The Salmon Sushi and Shrimp Tempura were great. The Spanish Mackrel was the star for me- it melted in the mouth. It was a tad pricey ($10), but the quality was definitely there! I would come back next time I'm in Temecula. read more

I was shockingly surprised to find this amazing sushi restaurant In Temecula. It was the closest place to where I was staying I went to get a sake and couple hand rolls. If the fish was fresh. They must fly in their fish fresh, it is definitely amazing. The hand rolls are a phenomenal deal but the fresh nigiri they have is also very special. Highly recommend definitely will come back Service was on point and ambiance is cozy and small. The sushi chefs interact with you directly which is phenomenal read more

Came across YouandI when searching for a sushi restaurant in the area. The outside looks totally dark and the restaurant may even look closed, but the inside turned into a really nice vibe with the lighting and decor! Portion sizes were big and our rolls came with a miso soup and a small side salad. The rolls are generally bigger than your average sushi restaurant, but not to the point where it's mainly rice. We got nice cuts of fish on our Candy Cane Roll and Burning Your Stomach Roll. They were too similar in fillings so I wish I got something different, but I did like the Candy Cane better. It had yellowtail and tuna on top and the other roll has jalapeños and albacore on top. For appetizers, we got the Lava Stones which is basically crispy tuna rice. They were nice bite size pieces and delicious. No idea what the chef's special sauce is, but it tasted like a ponzu mixture of some sort. I did like it with my roll though! Overall, I do think presentation could be a little better, but our rolls were tasty and we had leftovers! Definitely check this place out for a hefty list of sushi rolls and combinations. read more

From the outside, you wouldn't think how beautifully decorated this place is. The service was awesome also. BUT BABY, the sushi was sooo fresh and good. ORDER the mussels and a roll called taste like my ex-girlfriend. Promise it will be good and the washungton just a good salmon roll, but they use pickled carrots omg. I wanted a different sushi place, and I found one. Pricey, but what sushi isnt. 2 rolls, baked muscles delicious, 2 hand rolls, 2 drinks, and fresh Wasabi cost us 80 before the tip is not bad, and I'll be back. read more

I never expected to find an amazing sushi spot in a Temecula strip mall until I found Youandi sushi from a random Yelp search months ago when we were in town. We were so impressed that we've not only been back several times ourselves, but have brought our friends and family around too. Everyone has really enjoyed it! Highly recommend the sushi combo, sashimi combo, hand rolls (spicy scallops, blue crab, etc. Tbh they're all good), and specialty nigiri pieces (ask for what's current). If you come during lunch, they give you a complimentary salad (super crisp and refreshing) and miso soup as well. Also, I really appreciate that they use freshly grated, REAL wasabi - makes a huge difference! They offer an impressive variety of fish, everything is always very fresh, and the cuts are also very generous. Coming from LA, we're pretty spoiled with high quality sushi options, but this spot has wowed us. The staff is always pleasant and the chef is fantastic. From quality to value, they tick all the boxes! Highly, highly recommend! read more

Great place for sushi in the area! My other fave is Nekko. Being from LA/OC area and now living in the vicinity of this area, I'd have to say, it's really hard to find good sushi restaurants. Kam our server is great and so attentive! Better service than many places here. Forgot to take photos of our Unagi nigiri and yellowtail order. Food and sake were tasty for sure! Will be back on our next sushi craving day! read more

The hidden gem of Temecula. You need to try this place. I honestly can't believe there's this good a quality sushi in Temecula! This is one of my all time favorite sushi restaurants (I've been to many) staff are friendly, I always recognize the blond girl from my first time there for my birthday, I'm so bad with names but she's always delightful. The chefs are the bar even made me and my girlfriend a customized roll (his own creation) just because she said she liked salmon skin. Delicious btw. Now the FOOD! It's always great quality and fresh. Plus you get free salad and miso soup. I can tell this place prides itself in its authenticity, it's family owned so you should definitely support them and they have a cute cozy ambience. read more

Thank you Yelp reviewers, for leading us to YouandI Sushi. We got a little turned around getting there and were pressed for time. The service was friendly and accommodating. We ordered 7 items and they came out quick but not all at once. Their timing was perfect. They did let us know that the rolls that are deep fried will take a little longer. They served us each complimentary miso soup and to die for salad which was super simple but the dressing made it amazing. All the rolls were fresh and ingredients matched well for each roll. A few of the names are kinda funky...lol. I loved the decor and set up of the restaurant and it was clean. Love all the rolls with the Kitchen Sink Roll being our favorite. read more
I came across Youandi a couple months ago while looking for a sushi fix, and I have not been able to get it off my mind since then! The parking is easy and plentiful, the decor is appealing, the service is great, and best of all, the food is delicious and comes in generous portions. Youandi offers complimentary miso soup and salad to start. In addition, I enjoy their hand rolls ($5.50/per) and Lava Stones appetizer ($10.95). The hand rolls are made just like how Kazunori does theirs, which I am obsessed with! They are served right away to ensure that the seaweed is still crispy, which is a must for me. Though they are all great, my favorite hand rolls are the salmon, toro, and yellowtail. As for the Lava Stones, it's basically crispy rice topped with spicy tuna and jalapeno. I've had this dish at several sushi or ramen restaurants, but Youandi has been the best in terms of taste and portion. Most recently, my partner and I ordered the Fried Calamari appetizer ($8.95) to switch things up. We were so surprised by the mountain of calamari and tempura that we were given. It's always a treat to eat at Youandi. I'm hoping to try the Chirashi Bowl or Unagi-Don some time soon, which I have high expectations for. read more

Me and the husband have been going here for 3-4years. We have always been satisfied with the service and the food. Usually I order to go for lunch since time is limited and dine in for dinner. Never a complaint. Just these past few months- dine- in is so slow. My take out orders are ALWAYS missing some things. Last week, NO RICE on my combo! Today NO WASABI!! Now there are many other times which I do not complain about. Also, If you dine in, you get your soup and salad. But if you order to-go you get none. Miso soup is made in a big ass pot before service hour, and the salad is premade and dressing place before serving. These things cost cents. Skimming on things that barely bring in the money only lose customers . Not the way to go. Will be looking for other options. Makes me sad. read more
Ok, I am not going to lie. Based purely on the look on the outside of the restaurant I was a bit skeptical about the 4 1/2 stars this restaurant got. It's not a place I've heard a lot about either, so I kind of wanted to try it just to see what the "hype" was about. Let me just say, that this place deserved all the stars. They have a very large and varied menu so I was happy to have a lot of options on the specialty rolls. I had the Skinny Fat roll and my mom had the Alaska roll. The fish was so, incredibly fresh! I could not get enough. Skinny Fat was just the right amount of fish to be satisfying since it had no rice to bulk it up. The staff was nice and attentive and the restaurant itself was quaint. Also, they gave us a complementary bowl of miso soup and some sort of salad. Truth be told, the salad, which was broken up iceberg lettuce and some sort of yellow, watery, paste, was not my favorite. I hate to even knock it because complementary anything at restaurants is hard to come by, but the salad was a bit unappetizing and left a little to be desired. The miso, however, was great! I will for sure be taking the hubby here to try it. read more

Hands down the best in the Valley. Period. From the execution to the delivery of well treated sushi. Sat at bar, enjoyed Chef Chris! He was very helpful in explaining tastes and nuances to my wife who's never really been into sushi. This was very appreciated. Chef Chris said omakase dining experience will be started by the end of the month. This is a treat to anyone that knows! Enjoyed the Chris special, blue crab hand roll, toro hand roll and 4 different nigiri selections from Chef Chris. All of these items completely blew our minds! Will be back soon. Will be back often. My chopsticks have found a new home! read more
