I came here with family for dinner and it was barely ok for me. I haven't been here in a few years and I don't remember them having the ayce sushi option before. We went with the steak teriyaki dinner and it was very tough and fatty. We also had the tempura dinner and it was just ok. The food overall was just meh and a bit overpriced for what you get. Absolutely one of the best sushi spots in Temecula. There were 7 seats and my first round of AYCE wait time was less than 5 min (ordered 3 items) I highly recommend recommend their Rah Rah, but be mindful it's made fresh and wait time is a little longer than the other dishes (worth it) I will return for sure. read more

This place used to be really good on all fronts in terms of service, food, ambiance, etc. but lately it's been sub-par. As far as the food goes it's always pretty good, i typically get spicy tuna and some speciality cut roll and they're always on point. But the last 3 times i went i had inconsistencies. First, i do takeout, check my order in the car, they forgot a roll, no big deal i go back inside and they give me the missing roll (they forgot to put in the bag but it was ready). Second, its takeout, the host helping me is pretty abrupt, borderline rude, whatever, i check my food, they gave me the wrong roll this time. I go back, they switch it out for the correct roll. Third, and what really put me off, i get my order, i check it, it is the wrong roll, and, they forgot the sashimi slices, i go back inside and tell them, they male host/front server, maybe a shift lead cuz hes in a different uniform, takes my order back and is obviously annoyed (it's busy so im ignoring the attitude), he literally tears open the plastic bag, has the chefs correct everything, and then hands me back my takeout order in the same ripped bag, and im essentially carrying my trays stacked in my arms out to my car. At this point im completely pissed off but i just opt to let it slide when in reality, i shouldve said something. I dont know if they got new hosts, servers, etc but their attitudes and inconsistencies is crazy. I havent been back since, and i wont come here again. The 3 stars is solely for the sushi chefs. read more

The food is good but the service has gone downhill. I have been coming here for five years, but this year it is noticeably worse. First, our server asked if she could box our food while we were still eating. Then, while clearing plates, she accidentally spilled soy sauce all over my white dress. She was apologetic, but management seemed indifferent and even annoyed when I asked for soda water to clean it. As I waited for my dress to dry, the manager came over and said, "If you're done, can you leave? We have people waiting for a table." From the moment we walked in, there was an awful smell. Not the most pleasant welcome. The restaurant did not appear to be clean either. Food was mediocre at best. They expect you to eat all the rice, including scraps, and will let you know. These petty rules need to be explain kindly at the start of the meal, not after the fact when the experience was totally ruined. I suggested my sister use Gin Sushi to cater her birthday party. They wanted a simple menu of teriyaki chicken and rice and California rolls. When they picked up the food, they said there was no rice included (?!?) and so they paid an additional $40!!!! for rice to go with the teriyaki chicken. (When they originally ordered, they verified over the phone that there was rice included.) When they arrived at the house, they opened to pans to discover it was an entirely different (room temperature) order. There were various individual portions of different proteins laid out on lettuce. This was in no way what was ordered, and it was also not enough food for the group. I will add that the platter of California rolls was also very disappointing, IMO, because it had the fake crab and virtually nothing else. There were some tiny slivers of avocado on in a few of them, but it was basically a platter of white. Not appetizing at all. When we called to ask what happened and what could they do to help, they said they would prepare what we wanted, it would take 40 minutes, and we would have to pay for it again. Luckily, our party of close friends and family were kind about the total fail on the meal, and there were other items that weren't acquired from Gin Sushi. But I am very sorry I recommended them. read more

Love this place! My husband and I have gone to this location twice and the food experience was great. Our very first time, our waitress was super sweet and very comforting and the food was delicious. The brought out to the food super quick. Second time, different waitress but same hospitality. Especially since they are charging a 5 year old for an AYCE knowing kids will NOT eat all that rice.. didn't seem portioned at all from the first time we ate here & compared to other locations where they put half the amount of rice In the nigiri & DO NOT charge kids for AYCE. Was not the servers fault nor the owner but definitely will not be going back. If you have kids that like sushi but cannot eat massive amounts of rice with their sushi, do not go here. The seared escolar and tuna rolls are my absolute favorite - seriously fresh and so satisfying, they're practically my daily craving. The highlight are the Jalapeño bombs stuffed with crab. These little wonders are lip-smacking good, and I find myself daydreaming about them more often than I'd like to admit. You honestly can't go wrong with any of their rolls on their AYCE menu. Theres plenty of em. They also have baked options if you're not into raw sushi. They came out fast and so did our miso soups and edamame appetizer. I had the assorted sashimi salad, very good and bog portions of fish. Not only did they aggressively deny us from sharing food, they sent several people to embarrass us by stating it out loud in front of other customers, they also had their servers watch us the whole time during dining. We've noticed that finding a good AYCE place in Temecula that is fresh, has a great selection and a great value, is not that easy! This place is a hidden gem! The inside is on the smaller/cramped side but there is plenty of parking since there's a lot of other stores in the area. We've been there a few times now, all at different times. There's always a wait, it is not that long though. Great selection on the rolls and appetizers for the AYCE menu. The asterisks don't match (example: *not included on ayce selection, go look at ayce selection, it's included) so better to ask your server on that for clarification. While we were eating our food, the gentleman at the front came up to our table and rudely said that "we need to finish the rice or we will be charge. You guys did this last week" My friend had went earlier this week ate the ayce and paid the fee anyways for the leftover food without any hesitation. This was extremely rude of him.
