    Agedashi Tofu
    Eliko S.

This was my first time at Gin and I brought my mom here for lunch. While Gin has an AYCE sushi menu, we did not come here for that option. So instead, we ordered miso soup, agedashi tofu, seared salmon belly nigiri and three speciality rolls - gin, crunch & spider. The miso soup was okay but a little bit watery. The agedashi tofu had a good taste, but the pieces of tofu were huge. It was not the most refined dish... The salmon belly was good, but it had some unnecessary sauces on it including siracha. The rolls were ok. The Gin roll was drenched/bathed/soaked in spicy mayo. The spider roll also had unnecessary teriyaki sauce on it that made everything sticky & messy. The crunch roll was the best as it was the simplest. This was plenty of food for two people. We even had five pieces of sushi left over to bring home for my dad. The decor inside is mostly plain with some manga inspired paintings on the walls. It was quite busy inside but we were given a nice four top table and Eric took great care of us. One thing I noticed is that our food came out extremely fast. Like lightning fast... almost too fast to be enjoyable. In other words, because of Gin's focus on AYCE sushi, this place is not super relaxing and is more like an Americanized sushi factory. IMO, Eric's friendly service & positive attitude was the best thing about Gin. Also, there is plenty of parking in the lot. Peace.

Came back today for the second time this month just to make sure, it is a good AYCE Sushi! I was happy with the service, nice and polite staff. Nice decor on the walls and the place was clean. A place if you wanna surprise someone on their birthday Their seared Salmon was really good, and my wife's favorite was their Rainbow Rolls, Mixed Tempura, and Hamachi Kama.

We don't go out to AYCE often but decided this time to go and enjoyed our meal there. We felt like the portions and quality were pretty good. For all you can eat, this is a good choice to consider. Service was great and the ambiance is casual with art depicting anime characters eating sushi.

TL;DR: Cool anime-themed sushi spot with friendly service. Decent quality AYCE for $38 but individual rolls are plenty filling. Arrived with party of 6 at 2pm on Sunday & seated immediately. --Interior Very cool anime decor & posters on the wall. Plenty of tables around for both small & big parties. At the time we arrived, decent amount of people inside. --Service Very energetic & friendly server. Checked on us often to take orders, & the orders themselves came out fairly quickly. AYCE price was about $38 which isn't too bad, but we opted to just order rolls individually. --Food Highlights King Salmon Roll (5/5) I'm a big salmon lover so I ordered the King Salmon, which had no rice & was just salmon sashimi wrapped around imitation crab. Everything you would love in a roll as a salmon fan. Baked Scallops (5/5) Baked to a warm temp with tender scallops packed with a lot of flavor. As for the nigiri, I didn't feel like there was too much rice in the servings which is a plus. For birthdays they also give you a serving of mochi ice cream as the finisher. --Overall Decent spot for sushi with quality fish around the area. Great for both larger parties or for a quick grab & go.

Awhile ago I wrote that my first attempt to dine at Papafet, which is located on the other side of the building, was closed that day, and my more than acceptable substitution was GIN Sushi. This is my glowing review of that rushed, but pleasurable experience. Over the years I've generally leaned away from AYCE sushi restaurants. There's always a compromise, typically in portion sizes, appearance, menu options, and worse, quality or freshness. Not so here, I'm happy to report. The AYCE price was commiserate with quality, very much so. Perhaps some limitations or limits on certain items but in reality the spectrum of choices, be they nigiri sushi, hand, or cut rolls, I got my money's worth. I had less than an hour for lunch, but the server was great about expediting my order (two rounds), and brought beer and water quickly. A couple of appetizer choices always appeal, namely baked Mussels and gyozas. Both were very good, especially the mussels. The latter were fresh and had a well-made sauce. Two cut rolls are typically all I can eat solo, and both came out well-prepared and garnished to great anesthetics visually. Taste was also fantastic. Was I really at an AYCE place? My final round saw me trying a few favorite sushi options including the tuna (fresh and good texture), the salmon (marbled and fatty), seared salmon, and Hamachi. While I was unable to return during my work in Temecula, I'd gladly return for another meal or three. Well done!

This was our 1st time here heard from others it was really good. We have tried 2 other places and this by far is the best. Omg it was so good. Will definitely be our new spot. Plus the service was great. It was pretty busy and didnt take long at all. Can't wait to go back! It's a must try for sure.

My wife and I heard of this place and might try it soon! Is this place any good?

One of the best selections in town and priced just right. I love their signature Gin Sushi Roll and will often order their Gin Sushi Deluxe with Spicy Tuna option. The owners and staff are always friendly and attentive.

    Is this place any good?

Absolutely! Staff and owners are always attentive. Menu is for everyone, whether you love sushi or not. They also offer take out. One of the best deals is the Gin Sushi Deluxe, I get it with spicy tuna. Yum!

The place was was nicely decorated. The bathrooms were nice and clean (not funny smells). The dinning area was spotless with updated sort of nautical beach hints. When we were seated, we asked for a high chair three separate times before one was finally brought to our table. The high chair turned out to be too small for our son, so we asked if we could use a booster seat on the end chair instead. The server seemed hesitant, mentioning she wasn't sure she'd be able to get by the chair. We said that was fine and instead placed the booster seat between my wife and me. After struggling to get our son comfortable, we eventually realized the booster seat has two different height settings depending on which side is facing down. It would have been helpful if that had been pointed out when it was brought to the table. Throughout the meal, our server seemed distracted and wasn't around very often. Our food was brought out by other staff members, which isn't necessarily a problem by itself, but combined with the lack of check-ins it made the service feel disconnected. The biggest disappointment came when I took my son outside while we waited. The benches, chairs, and handrails in the waiting area were covered in bird droppings. There were spider webs in multiple places, and the entrance to the restaurant itself looked dirty. I understand the restaurant is going for an old harbor or fishing-boat atmosphere, but there's a big difference between rustic and neglected. Instead of feeling charming or nautical, it felt like years of dirt and grime had simply been left in place. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but basic cleanliness and attentive service are things I expect from any restaurant, especially when dining with a young child. I hope management takes this as constructive feedback because the restaurant has potential, but our experience left us with little desire to return.

It was a little hard to find the restaurant, especially since the sign is not right over the entrance, but just next to it where the small market is. Look for the Winchester Center sign next to the market. Since we arrived before it opened on a Sunday, we browsed in the market until it was tine to eat. We had a reservation for 6 of us, so they seated us at the one round table near the front. There is another longer table next to it on the left side where there's a colorful mural. The rest of the tables are booths. The restaurant is spacious and roomy and very clean. You can order items from the menu or build your own hot pot which is AYCE. Everyone in our party chose the hot pot. We were each brought a small blue pot that contained the sterno to heat up the soup and the broth of our choice inside. We also placed our meat order with our server. We went to the back-left corner to grab our veggies, and some other things to add to our hot pot. Our server came by often to take more meat orders, clear empty plates, and check if we needed more broth or if our sterno needed more fuel. Our server was delightfully cheerful and friendly. She was helpful and answered all of our questions, especially when we had to choose our broths. (Forgive me for forgetting your name!) I highly recommend calling ahead to make a reservation if you have a larger party. Accessibility notes: most of the tables are padded booths. If you can transfer and slide, you should be okay. Otherwise, see if you can sit at a table that has chairs on the left side. The restaurant is spacious enough to park your mobility aid (or stroller for babies) near you. The restrooms are located in the back-left corner, 2 single stall restrooms, one for men and one for women. There is enough room for someone to enter with their mobility aid and a helper companion. You can enter the restaurant without climbing a step, but I don't recall where the handicap accessible parking was since we used a regular parking space and I climbed up the curb. No one from the family is local, but my brother-in-law chose this restaurant because it's somewhere where we can meet in the middle. We all loved it, and are adding it to our rotation when we need to come together for a celebration.

Service was great, food was what I expected. I have occasionally been going to Red Lobster…read morerestaurants around the country over the past 40-50 years and the food has always been about the same. Except for about 5 years or so when Red Lobster completely lost their way. The ambiance was also what I expected from this long established restaurant chain. Music was at a good volume, temperature was good, and no weird odors or fruit flies or anything like that. Lighting levels are comfortable for a relaxing dinner. Price was midrange for this style of restaurant. Again, what I expected. The one thing Red Lobster has going for it is consistency. No surprises either way. I suppose that's a good thing. The one area the Temecula location never seems to get right, and why don't go there more often, is the maintenance and upkeep. It does look like the carpet was cleaned or replaced recently, which was one thing that really turned me off the last time I was there. But, there are still little dis-pleasers here and there. Things not clean or tidy like bathroom fixtures not working, bathrooms that are pretty poor condition, where you look around and ask yourself, when was the last time this place was thoroughly cleaned? Water puddles on the vanity, paper towels strewn all around... Subconsciously wondering if you're not walking out with more germs on your hands after washing them than when you went in. Truly, these restaurants have found a nice little niche and really don't need to re-concept or renovate. Just a few bucks spent on keeping things clean and operating correctly is really all that is needed. It never fails to amaze me how some businesses will try to squeeze a penny by not keeping things clean and well maintained, while bleeding money from lost customers. You'd think the food and beverage business would understand that people don't want to eat at a location that's dirty and unsanitary. Oh well!
