Ate at the bar last night and everything was excellent. The Cooper Hat pizza was absolutely delicious, the next best to a similar pizza we loved in South Jersey. The bartenders were friendly and their service amazing! Mentioned it was our anniversary and was surprised with a choice of a complimentary dessert - the butterscotch cake with vanilla gelato was to die for! I've avoided this place for a half a year because of the ridiculous name, but I did enjoy the service and food here. Arvan was my bartender and he was great. The steak frites was fairly good, but a bit oily. The atmosphere is nice and the bar area is big and open. I would come back, but not at the top of list. read more

After my last review, management reached out right away and was very generous in hopes that I would come back. It worked. I thought I would try them again. Now, it went from bad to worst. At first I thought I was being too picky, but quickly if there is an option for instruction, at a minimum that should be followed. As you see, I asked for the gravy to be separated from the mashed potatoes. They missed it. Now let's get to the quality of the food. Their version of a Ceasars salad is wet shredded romaine with parmesean croutons and a dusting of grated parmesean. Even though the dressing was delicious (very fishy) it was watered down. So essentially I ate a large portion of garnish. As for the chicken strip with fries, unless I wanted to be on high blood pressure meds, there is no way I could eat those fries. I admit, I don't use a lot of salt, but this side was loaded with a coarse salt, and you guessed it, cold and rubbery. As for the strips, they were just ok. If a place specializes in chicken, I would think the straps would have more chicken than breading. Clearly I assume too much. LOL So this time around, the chicken was good, side failed and the kids meal was only half edible. Do better... we want to support our local restaurants. read more

Being new to living in midtown Phoenix (from Mesa) comes with perks that are rarely discussed. This little gem is one of those perks! On a Saturday night one could only expect there to be a wait , or sit at the bar. We chose the latter. It was a great decision as we got to meet Arvan the head bartender. Some bartenders are great at mixing cocktails, some are meticulous cleaners, and very few are on the level of Arvan. He answered questions before i had a chance to voice them and it was clear that he not only knew what he was doing but he also loved it. We ordered Pizzas that came out hot, fresh and worth writing home about . Competitive pricing and an amazing cocktail/wine/beer list. This doughbird location is top tier and makes me want to check out the other locations to see if they measure up. We went here with a couple of friends and I love the atmosphere here. It is smaller than the one on Indian School and so it feels very quaint. We had the hummus appetizer and then a couple of pizzas. We did the Detroit style sweet potato with Brussels sprouts and they had the Detroit style pepperoni. Both pizzas were amazing. Our server was so on top of everything. We were headed to an event and he made sure everything came out in a timely manner, and we were in our way exactly when we said we needed to leave. I'm kind of afraid this place is going to get too busy for us to get in so easily when I do this review, but it's not fair for me to keep it to myself. Had the watermelon tomato salad, fresh, crisp and well balanced. (I would order it again) Good pizza, closer to Italy and America. Lighter on the sauce and mozzarella, nice and crispy. I usually don't do this but the manager here is hands on and looking for ways to improve. I personally would cut the amount of yeast in the pizza dough in half and double the amount of salt. I sat at the bar and received a warm, friendly welcome. The decor is really nice and the glass doors were open so there was a nice breeze coming in. I ordered the Aviator pizza Detroit style for lunch. It was delicious and came piping hot! The crust was crispy and flavorful on the bottom and fluffy on top. Everyone working at the bar checked in on me at some point. My water glass was refilled just as soon as I'd finish it, without my having to ask, which I appreciated. Both were great. The perfect amount of chew and softness in the crust. The flavor combos on the Copper Hat were unreal. Get a side of ranch to dip the crusts in. The chopped salad was great, they'll let you order a half as a "side" for a smaller portion, which is what we did. YThe ranch is definitely house made with delicious herbs and probably a fresh buttermilk. Wow. Can't stop thinking about it. Excellent restaurant build out with creative and high end decor. A+ experience! So excited for this location to be open. This restaurant is beautiful..... the atmosphere and decor makes me wanna come and hang out and eat every night. A total pet peeve of mine is restaurant music that is too loud......not here! The bar is amazing ( one of the prettiest ones I've seen) and such a focal point as it sits right in the center of the restaurant. Now on to the food! Everything we ate was absolutely delicious. The Ingredient salad was so fresh and flavorful and hearty enough for a full meal. Also highly recommend the chicken pot pie for something warm and cozy. The crust was perfect....buttery and flaky ......and the filling was packed with chunks of chicken. We also has two pizzas, the Detroit style and regular crust. Both had wonderful texture and you can't go wrong with either. Be sure to save room for dessert! We ordered all 3 because it was too hard to choose. They were delicious and very generous portions which I loved because I got to take some home for leftovers. Personal favorite was the peanut butter brookie......it was super moist and gooey and with the heavenly sauce and a scoop of ice cream.....it was to die for! And to top it all off the staff was amazing! As soon as you walked you were greeted by big happy smiles. Everyone...and I mean everyone looked so happy and friendly. Let me start off with great, friendly staff. My hungry family decided to try Dough Bird tonight for some pizza. I got there and watched them pack an order. "Oh looks like three kids pizzas, couldn't possibly be mine..." But it was. I couldn't believe I just bought three $20+ personal pan pizzas. I walked out with my dainty paper bag holding it with one finger. I drove home disappointed. I announced to my family when I got home I wouldn't be eating tonight so there could be enough for them. I had my birthday dinner here a a couple of weeks ago and I was so happy I chose this place. Every single one of the dishes including the appetizers were so delicious. The service was top tier and everyone from the hostess to the waitress made me feel like family. The restaurant is very inviting with lots of plants and golden accents for the decor which gives it a nice upscale vibe. The music was one of my favorite parts too because they had lots of the music I listen to playing at the perfect sound level in the background. Not loud but just enough for us to hear it. This was my first time coming here , but I am coming here again. Looking forward to having the pot pie next time. Also, the waitress said if I call a few days ahead they can customize my potpie since I can't have mushrooms. I thought that was incredible for her to suggest. To be honest... my experience had little to do with the people I came with and had EVERYTHING to do with my experience including the food, the ambiance and the service. Emily, our server, was a doll. Taylor (aka TP) came up to our table to introduce herself and made sure me and my party were nothing short of satisfied. Don't get me started with the food... holy smokes! I ordered a family meal that comes with a caesar salad and I chose broccolini as my side. I also ordered additional sides of brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes. The sides were 10/10 but the chicken was no better than what you would get from the grocery store. Additionally, my father is a caveman and likes to use the bones he said that the bones on the chicken tasted bad. That was enough to gross me out and never eat the chicken here again. 4 stars for the sides alone the brussel sprouts and broccolini were incredible!
