sandwich left me wanting more white stuff in the middle....
    Maggy B.

Saw this place on a viral video and was dying to check it out, so I stopped by and came here for lunch; ordered a bunch of stuff. First sandwich left me wanting more white stuff in the middle, pizza was undercooked and needed more ricotta, but that last sandwich- dang! I will include photos and captions. Will try again.

Legitimately delicious sando. Saw the hype online and wanted to see if it was worth it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cool vibes, good music and delicious sandos.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Reminded me of home back in LA

First time here and definitely not the last! Was only in town for a night and this restaurant looked very promising on Yelp, decided to dine here and did not regret one bit. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The food, service, and ambiance is impeccable![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Sat at the bar because we came in through the back entrance accidentally, and it was first come first serve like anywhere else.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Didn't get the name of the servers/bartenders but they made sure I was well taken care of with quick water refills. Started off with the burrata salad that came with strawberries and focaccia bread. Pro tip is to cut the bread in half and pile in the salad to make a small sandwich. Next, I had the brick chicken Marsala, which comes with a breast and thigh on a bed of mash potatoes and Marsala mushroom sauce. Dish was divine, the thigh was a little under, but service was top notch and replaced the dish entirely with a brand new one cooked to perfection. Ended the meal with the seasonal creme; a vanilla custard with rhubarb and tarragon, absolutely delish! Highly recommend!

This place is fantastic. Our server was friendly and professional, answering questions about the menu and recommending just the right number of dishes. Everything we ordered was so pretty and delicious. The Sunday supper special is a great deal- three courses, with lots of veg-friendly tasty options to choose from. Love the rainbow carrots and grilled asparagus. The focaccia is huge, good for sharing, delivered to the table warm with a big chunk of flavored butter. Both pastas we tried- the pesto and mushroom carbonara- were perfectly cooked. The seasonal vanilla custard looks simple, but with the rhubarb compote on top, it's lovely. Highly recommend.

We ordered online and you pick it up on the back side there is also a door on the back side. My husband and I shared the Little Jerry since it looked huge and was $19, and it was for sure a huge sandwich and it was soooo good! Definitely worth the hype! The spicy vodka sauce gave it that little kick and the chicken cutlet was nice and crispy on the focaccia bread. Very messy but delicious!

Came here to celebrate my 22nd birthday with a group of friends and had a great experience overall. We were able to make a reservation easily, and the space itself was beautiful--clean, well-designed, and had a great music vibe. The service really stood out. While the gluten-free options were a bit limited for one of my friends, the staff went above and beyond by offering an extra glass of wine when they ran out of the orzo she planned to order. They also surprised our table with champagne and gave me a personalized birthday card, which made the night feel extra special. The food was excellent with generous portions. Definitely a spot I'd recommend for celebrations.

I was visiting Arizona this week and was told by a friend that I had to visit this restaurant to try their sandwiches. I ordered the little jerry and my dad got the rochelle, rochelle. For starters, all of their sandwiches are made with housemade focaccia bread which was delicious and nicely toasted. For the little jerry, the chicken was tender, the pesto was very fresh and herby, and the spicy vodka sauce had a little kick to it. The fresh grated cheese was nice and light as well. For the rochelle, rochelle, the fried onions were nice and crispy and the roast beef was extremely tender and abundant. I loved their smoked gouda cheese wiz! It was not overpowering at all and went extremely well with the meat. As for the restaurant environment, the entire staff was accommodating, friendly, and displayed excellent cleanliness! No complaints at all and I can't wait to dine here again whenever I come back to Arizona!

Went here for lunch for the first time. The mango lemonade was delicious and the sandwiches were large! We enjoyed the little Jerry a lot. My partner didn't love the maestro - he didn't realize it was a cold sandwich and thought it'd be hot. I enjoyed it but I didn't think it was the best sandwich I've ever had. We also tried to pizza slice of the day which was a unique one - we liked that too. We got there at 11 when they opened and there was already a line! But it moved quickly. Overall definitely worth trying out

Once again, First & Last has been nothing less than spectacular. My friend and I stopped by for lunch on Sunday and had to wait in a tiny line before we got to order. I wanted a fun drink so I got the strawberry fields which was so refreshing on that hot day. I also got the Lenny Bernstein sandwich which had the perfect level of spice between the soft focaccia bread. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat downstairs and while it was busy, the noise wasn't distracting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I brought half of it home because it was so filling. I still have yet to try their dinner menu, but lunch here is just fabulous!

I came on a Sunday morning and waited about 15 minutes. There was a constant line, which made me excited to try it as I was visiting from out of town. I ordered the Little Jerry, and I can see why it's so popular on social media. As a Parmesan lover, it was perfect. The sandwich was packed with sauce and flavor. It's basically a pizza in sandwich form, with a pesto like green sauce and a delicious chicken cutlet. My boyfriend ordered the Jack Klompus, but compared to the Little Jerry, it lacked flavor. Overall, I'd still recommend it! The setup is mostly self serve, with food brought out to your table. Also, music was great!

    Kellie P.

I can't get over how good the sandwiches were!! The Little Jerry was insanely good with the most tender chicken parm I've ever tasted! The Maestro couldn't have been better in NYC!! The Bosco's Mortadella was laid out fluffy and delicate. The homemade focaccia!!! We tried the pistachio tiramisu and a purist, it wasn't my fav mostly due to an orange flavor undertone. We will be back many, many times for more.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]5 stars all around - lived up to the hype, secret is to sit at the bar if a seat is open as it's full service at the bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ray, bartender, was super friendly. I got the bob sacamono, one of my favorite sandwiches I've ever had. Also had 2 passionfruit margaritas. Will be back so pumped I finally tried this place. Highly recommend.

Everything I had for arizona restaurant week was really good! I'm unfortunately not the biggest fan of pasta, but it was so good that I was like... hmm... maybe some pasta is ok. The seasonal creme I could do without tbh.

I did 2 of my favorites, Paloma De Guayaba with the custom block name etched and the Baya Nueva. While in the Cantina, I had to order my friend the Basura (trash), but that wasn't the case... then again, it is served in a plastic bag, and is definitely a throwback to my early 20's of gettin' lit!!!! It was busy, but not packed, which made the service stand out more than it should have. I had to ask for water twice, never got a refill, and overall felt largely ignored--minimal eye contact, no real warmth, just an impersonal feel that didn't match the space. It felt like a place that may be a bit of a victim of its own success--popularity has grown, but delivery hasn't fully kept pace. Part of the appeal here is the permanent taco truck outside, which I know from past visits is excellent, and I love the truck's outspoken, unapologetic support for immigrants. That said, the cocktail itself was excellent. I was specifically looking for a coffee-based drink before heading to another event, and the Cambures al Estilo Foster delivered on flavor. It was tiny, though--served in a small stemmed glass, gone in a few sips. It did the job, but some may find the portion underwhelming for the price. No major complaints, but nothing pulling me back either. I'm adding a fourth star on a bit of a hunch--I'd like to think they can dial it back in if I return.

My party and I had a reservation on a Saturday night at 9pm (when it's 13 people, what can you do). What kind of sucked though (and mainly why I'm deducting a star) is that we did wait an additional half hour to be seated after our reservation time. Our theory is that they didn't think the entire party would actually arrive, and they were not ready to accommodate us. To be fair, the restaurant IS on the smaller side, but there was 0 communication during that half hour on what was going on... which isn't really good for us either. We got the original set, and this somewhat confused me as well. The food was really good, and was definitely a restaurant that I'd go to for the experience, but for some reason some of the meats were doubled while others weren't. The double portions were really nice since our party was so large, we needed to split the food between 4 different grills (so each table got 2 grills each, feeding 6-7 people in total or 3-4 people per grill), but then we had to share the portions where we only got one serving. It wasn't bad, but to me, didn't make sense. The food was really good though; I didn't care too much about the soup, but the green sauce was SO good. Mixing a little with the soup was incredible. I thought the beef and pork were really good. I personally left the restaurant full, but many others in my party did not. I think it's a really good amount of food for 2 people, but when you push to 3+, you probably do not want to come hungry. Also--the live music at Pemberton next door is SO LOUD, you're going to be shouting at your table the entire night when you sit outside. I think I would come back if I wanted to show this place to someone who didn't live here, but it isn't on the top of my list for when I'm trying to eat out, but I will definitely consider this for special date night occasions. It is extremely expensive for what it is though. For $70+ you risk the chance of leaving not full which SUCKS.
