    Mushroom grandma slice, Rochelle Rochelle
    Olivia Z.

Super yummy and a beautiful space!! We came in around 1 PM on a Saturday and the restaurant was pretty busy. We ordered at the counter and got a number before getting our own table (wasn't difficult since there was plenty of seating). We ordered the Rochelle Rochelle and a seasonal grandma slice which was a mushroom and caramelized onion square. For $23, the Rochelle Rochelle was HUGE and so worth it. We split a sandwich between the both of us and it was just the perfect amount. Piled high with crispy onions and filled with flavorful beef, the sandwich was a beast. The pizza slice was my favorite since it wasn't super heavy but had a strong mushroom/truffle flavor I loved. I do wish there were more onions in the slice but it was delicious nonetheless. Overall, I would definitely come back for the sandwiches since they have many options! Ratings Rochelle Rochelle: 4/5 Seasonal grandma slice: 4.5/5

First time visiting and already can't wait to come back! We made reservations for dinner and had a fantastic meal. The service was great from the moment we walked in. We started off with the Cast Iron Baked Focaccia, wow. So, so good! Very filling though so definitely split it. Main courses we ordered the Bacon Sourdough Bolognese and Truffle Cacio e Pepe dishes. Some of the best pasta I've had in Phoenix. Absolutely recommend both! They have a good selection of drinks, cocktails, and a few beers. The vibe instead is very intimate, excellent date night spot. Overall, I was very impressed with our experience and meals!

Came here for lunch and the sandwiches were incredible! It's a bummer that they only serve them until 3pm, I would love it if they extended those hours but if you can make it before 3 I highly recommend! Parking can be tough so plan accordingly

Saw this place on a viral video and was dying to check it out, so I stopped by and came here for lunch; ordered a bunch of stuff. First sandwich left me wanting more white stuff in the middle, pizza was undercooked and needed more ricotta, but that last sandwich- dang! I will include photos and captions. Will try again.

First time here and definitely not the last! Was only in town for a night and this restaurant looked very promising on Yelp, decided to dine here and did not regret one bit. The food, service, and ambiance is impeccable! Sat at the bar because we came in through the back entrance accidentally, and it was first come first serve like anywhere else. Didn't get the name of the servers/bartenders but they made sure I was well taken care of with quick water refills. Started off with the burrata salad that came with strawberries and focaccia bread. Pro tip is to cut the bread in half and pile in the salad to make a small sandwich. Next, I had the brick chicken Marsala, which comes with a breast and thigh on a bed of mash potatoes and Marsala mushroom sauce. Dish was divine, the thigh was a little under, but service was top notch and replaced the dish entirely with a brand new one cooked to perfection. Ended the meal with the seasonal creme; a vanilla custard with rhubarb and tarragon, absolutely delish! Highly recommend!

We have dined at First and Last numerous times, but haven't been for over a year. We stopped dining there as the food was never up to par but thought to give it another try and see if anything had changed. Sitting at the bar for dinner, we began with drinks. I ordered a Ketel One "up" with a slice of lime. (which means chilled with ice and strained into a glass with no ice left in it.") It was served as a shot of vodka with no chilling and a slice of lime on the edge. I had to send it back and ask for it to be properly made, and the bartender asked if I wanted it shaken over ice. Of course, that's what I ordered. We ordered the tempura calamari as an appetizer. It came with a sticky sauce poured over all the pieces, no dipping sauce as is the norm. It was more on the bland side but not awful. I ordered the Robb's Clams for dinner, which was described as fennel, french sauv blanc, herbs, butter, chilis, more herbs, grilled bread. It arrived as shown in the images below; the bread was burnt and inedible. The broth tasted burnt as some of the burnt bread crumbs fell in and tainted the broth. It was too salty and I barely ate any of it. My husband ordered the 14oz Copper State Prime New York Strip steak (chef's lawry's-ish seasoned salt, caponata, anson mills polenta, calabrian agrodolce). The steak was prepared a proper medium rare but was over-salted as was the butter on top. The bartender/server asked my husband how his dinner was. He stated it was too salty and she offered the calamari on the house. Not one person asked how my dinner was. I have no idea how my dinner made it out of quality control from the cook to the chef to the server. Photos show just how badly the bread was. Again, we were astounded how it made the cut to serve to a patron. I doubt anyone would have eaten it. To have a bartender not know how to make a basic cocktail to an over salted steak to burnt food? Nope, never again. And it was not an inexpensive meal, which would not have made a difference.

Legitimately delicious sando. Saw the hype online and wanted to see if it was worth it. Cool vibes, good music and delicious sandos. Reminded me of home back in LA

This place is fantastic. Our server was friendly and professional, answering questions about the menu and recommending just the right number of dishes. Everything we ordered was so pretty and delicious. The Sunday supper special is a great deal- three courses, with lots of veg-friendly tasty options to choose from. Love the rainbow carrots and grilled asparagus. The focaccia is huge, good for sharing, delivered to the table warm with a big chunk of flavored butter. Both pastas we tried- the pesto and mushroom carbonara- were perfectly cooked. The seasonal vanilla custard looks simple, but with the rhubarb compote on top, it's lovely. Highly recommend.

We had an incredible experience hosting our bachelorette dinner here! Despite being a large group with last-minute plans, the team went above and beyond to accommodate us, even surprising us with custom printed menus featuring the bride's name. The food was delicious, our server provided fantastic recommendations, and the sunset views from the window tables were breathtaking. Highly recommend for any group looking for a special celebration!

Ordered the infamous Little Jerry's and can definitely say that the hype is justifiable. Portion is filling enough to be split in between two. Would definitely come back. Went on a Saturday around noon and there was no line & lots of tables available. The staff was very friendly and on top of it all. The restaurant itself was very clean which is always appreciated.

Came here to celebrate my 22nd birthday with a group of friends and had a great experience overall. We were able to make a reservation easily, and the space itself was beautiful--clean, well-designed, and had a great music vibe. The service really stood out. While the gluten-free options were a bit limited for one of my friends, the staff went above and beyond by offering an extra glass of wine when they ran out of the orzo she planned to order. They also surprised our table with champagne and gave me a personalized birthday card, which made the night feel extra special. The food was excellent with generous portions. Definitely a spot I'd recommend for celebrations.

Went here for lunch for the first time. The mango lemonade was delicious and the sandwiches were large! We enjoyed the little Jerry a lot. My partner didn't love the maestro - he didn't realize it was a cold sandwich and thought it'd be hot. I enjoyed it but I didn't think it was the best sandwich I've ever had. We also tried to pizza slice of the day which was a unique one - we liked that too. We got there at 11 when they opened and there was already a line! But it moved quickly. Overall definitely worth trying out

We ordered online and you pick it up on the back side there is also a door on the back side. My husband and I shared the Little Jerry since it looked huge and was $19, and it was for sure a huge sandwich and it was soooo good! Definitely worth the hype! The spicy vodka sauce gave it that little kick and the chicken cutlet was nice and crispy on the focaccia bread. Very messy but delicious!

From the great wood grain basement dark ambience to to the raw, regular bar, and multiple sit-down options, we have tried it all. The allure of trying to find a place down in a basement where you have to find the right elevator was pretty bad ass. The hosts along with the waitresses and bar tenders are always welcoming and knowledgeable about their food and drink. I also think it is cool that you can get lockers to store your expensive liquor for return trips. We often come here for drinks and oysters, because my wife loves oysters and they have a wide range of options that aren't exactly cheap, but don't break the bank for freshness and taste. I only really mark down the rating because the menu has been stale over the years and they used to offer elk that is no longer available. Now call that pretentions or snooty, but I think they could use some unique options to keep the experience moving each time you come in. Also, I feel a restaurant of this caliber should be evolving to match their cool vibe and unique experience. I usually get the Wren house beer but feel the beer optiosn are limiting I also feel like some of their cocktails are overpriced, but they are unique compared to other places, so maybe I am just cheap. So really this rating should be more a 4.5. What really brings you back is the cool art on the wall with a Theodore Roosevelt slant and cool sitting areas like a sofa setting in what looks like it would be his old school library. Don't get me wrong everything I have eaten here has been good, but nothing hearkens back like that elk. This place makes for an amazing tinder date if you are willing to drop that cash and make that impression, come here then hop on over to Valley bar and she will think you are magician of illusive locations if she hasn't already been there.

It also features a lot of great art that fits really highlights the Mexican bar vibe. The waitress/bar tender/ agave expert was very welcoming and know a lot about their tequilas and mescal option. I love me some smokey mescal, I dont remember thet name of the drink but it had some kind of elote triple sec or something like that along with Mescal and it was quite tasty. Trust me I was in no state to remember ingredients but this is from my foggy memory. I also got a pick of the cool ice blocks that has an Agave inlay that they put in the tumbler with your drink. I will definitely be going back for their wide Mescal and tequila options. I didn't see food in the bar, but they have a food truck out front that smelled amazing, but sometimes I simply dont want to eat when there are plenty of drinks to be had. They do have Esquites, Tacos, Quesadillas, Mini Chimis, and loaded fries. I will have to do another review on the food when I am not out being a borracho. They do take reservations and host private parties which would make for one raucous Christmas party if you don't work at a Christ loving conservative company like me. You can also order bottles of mescal and pick it up on location which is pretty awesome as especially after trying out the selection. Happy hour is every weekday that they are open to try out some of their cocktails. My party and I had a reservation on a Saturday night at 9pm (when it's 13 people, what can you do). What kind of sucked though (and mainly why I'm deducting a star) is that we did wait an additional half hour to be seated after our reservation time. Our theory is that they didn't think the entire party would actually arrive, and they were not ready to accommodate us. To be fair, the restaurant IS on the smaller side, but there was 0 communication during that half hour on what was going on... which isn't really good for us either. We got the original set, and this somewhat confused me as well. The food was really good, and was definitely a restaurant that I'd go to for the experience, but for some reason some of the meats were doubled while others weren't. The double portions were really nice since our party was so large, we needed to split the food between 4 different grills (so each table got 2 grills each, feeding 6-7 people in total or 3-4 people per grill), but then we had to share the portions where we only got one serving. It wasn't bad, but to me, didn't make sense. The food was really good though; I didn't care too much about the soup, but the green sauce was SO good. Mixing a little with the soup was incredible. I thought the beef and pork were really good. I personally left the restaurant full, but many others in my party did not. I think it's a really good amount of food for 2 people, but when you push to 3+, you probably do not want to come hungry. Also--the live music at Pemberton next door is SO LOUD, you're going to be shouting at your table the entire night when you sit outside. I think I would come back if I wanted to show this place to someone who didn't live here, but it isn't on the top of my list for when I'm trying to eat out, but I will definitely consider this for special date night occasions. It is extremely expensive for what it is though. For $70+ you risk the chance of leaving not full which SUCKS.
