This place is incredible for regular dinner, but if you have a chance to try one of their wine dinners or specialty dinners, highly recommend! Just got done trying their wine dinner for August 2026 and can't say enough great things about it! Definitely come here for a fun night out with friends or an intimate date night :-)
May I please select a 6th star? Drinks first. I had an old house old fashioned which was rye based. We also had the lavender bees knees which was Sipsmith London dry Gin, lemon and lavender infused honey syrup. Had bee pollen and sugar crusted on the rim. Amazing Ok this European comfort food restaurant is to die for. We had the charcuterie board which was so good with the wide variety of ingredients. We also had the duck confit fingerling potatoes. Wow. Greg and his staff provided an amazing experience. You must, must try this place.
This is a very lovely restaurant in Downtown Phoenix. We did not have a reservation but we got there early so we got a cute table in the front of the house, next to a stunning painting of peacock. The food here is very tasty and the plates they used are so beautiful. The scallops appetizers are perfectly cooked and seasoned. The sea bass main dish is fresh and delicious. The bread pudding is warm and perfectly sweet.
Nikki G was phenomenal, great CS, knew the menu extremely well, even with the Valentine's day Special Add On Menu, was very attentive and accommodating. Greg, the owner/manager stopped by what a fine gentleman, told us the story behind this marvelous restaurant and the food was FANTASTIC, one of my favorites in the Phoenix Market.. We had Lamb Chops, Hokkaido Scallops, Salmon Piccata, The Dates-for a Starter & Dark Chocolate Mousse, Carmel Pecan Bread Pudding for Desert. The food was AMAZING!!! Drinks and Wine, PHENOMENAL. Parking is a challenge if you don't know where and what is in the area. Check with them and they will guide you. Ambiance is interesting in this old house, If in the area you must try! Thanks to the entire staff for making the dining experience memorable.
What a nice little spot. The atmosphere is so relaxing and homey. There is a beautiful outdoor area and inside is unique as well. The staff were friendly and helpful. 5 Stars We have been to many steakhouses and this was the most well cooked steak we have had. From the sear, to the sauce, and the perfect cook, it was delicious. The Green Beans were so fresh and had a great but subtle crunch. The garlic and bacon worked perfectly. What a fantastic Tiramisu. So light and amazing flavors. I loved the blueberries as it added a freshness and another layer of flavors. The dates were cooked perfectly. Great balance of flavor and a delicious sauce. The Le Mac was one of the best Macs we have had at any restaurant. It wasn't too heavy and was a perfect amount of creamy. The Knickerbocker drink was absolutely amazing. The raspberry puree really shined through. The Espresso Martini was a perfect after dinner drink. Very well balanced. The Rosemary Lemon Drop was delicious. The addition of the rosemary took this to another level. 4 Stars - The pork belly had great flavor! I just prefer my pork belly crispy. If they would broil these for 1-2 minutes it would be amazing! The fingerling potatoes were very well seasoned and yummy. Again, we prefer them a little more crispy. The Sweet Potatoes were simplistic and simple. Well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The asparagus was fresh and for as large as they were, held together well and weren't flimsy. They were a little lacking in seasoning but overall good. We will definitely be back to try the short ribs and sea bass! 4**** = Set themselves a part with quality food and I want to go back. 5*****= You have to go out of your way and make a special trip to try the deliciousness that is there!
Wonderful wonderful place! The restaurant was in a small quaint European style home that felt vintage and nostalgic. Gorgeous restaurant with beautiful artwork inside. My friend and I were in the mood for dessert so we decided to pop in here during our night stroll in downtown; we couldn't resist the hidden beauty of this restaurant. We were quickly greeted with wonderful service and were sat in this adorable tiny table next to a wall of paintings. We ordered the Crème brûlée and it was so good! The sugar crust was perfect and the cranberries added a nice sour touch. So delicious! Everything else on the menu looked yummy so we definitely plan on coming back again soon :D . The waitress, Gretchen, was so sweet and kind :D !
We were looking for some fun and unique place to take my daughter for her birthday, and this place was perfect! The setting and atmosphere of this place can't be beat, dry in the heart of downtown nestled amongst skyscrapers sits this old historic house. The service was great and the food was absolutely delicious. We started with some cocktails, which they have quite an extensive list of. Then we ordered the bacon wrapped, chorizo stuffed dates; to die for!! I ordered the braised short ribs and both my wife and daughter ordered the sea bass. All were tender and delicious! Finally we capped off the evening with the tiramisu, yum!
Well where tjy sat us the Ambience made it feel real welcoming like you were at home in your own kitchen or about to.eat a grandma's house which made me even more hungry. The service was phenomenal our waitress was able to not only able to give us her recommendations but also answer any questions on the other dishes so I new her opinion was am honest one. Then came the food the wife said why not and just started ordering a little bit of everything or it seemed like that to me. I had the ratatouille with the beef rib and a shareable side but i didnt share haha. Let me say it was amazing the eggplant was cooked perfectly the beef rib was tender and tasted perfect. The wife had a salad and simplicity is key the vinaigrette paird with the greens and cheese was on point. We also got the olives and bread I wish we would of got desert but just had no room when we were finished. Overall if your looking for something different then the norm this is the spot we will be coming back next time.
If you want a gorgeous, cozy restaurant for a sweet date night, The Farish House is the perfect place to go. It's perfect for patio weather -- set along the quieter streets of downtown Phoenix -- or for dining in the historic home. After making a reservation online, we were seated immediately for our anniversary dinner. Our lovely hostess gave us a head's up that the Chianti-braised short rib--which we definitely had our eyes on--was running low, so we were able to put in our order for that to ensure it didn't sell out. So glad we did! The meat is so tender, and the veggies and polenta pair fantastically with the dish. The Mahi Mahi Provencale came with a surprise standout: the ratatouille. I would definitely order this on its own, though the fish was delicious! We also thoroughly enjoyed our starter, the Kale & Goat Salad that comes with tasty dried fruits and a dijon-maple vinaigrette. The non-alcoholic drinks are also lovely here! Love the selection of mocktails. I would definitely return--it's one of the better elevated dining experiences (especially at its price range) in a lovely area to walk around afterward.
10/10. The patio is the perfect ambiance for a lovely date. The food was delicious. The price was fair and portions were generous. We also snagged happy hour for some of the apps and drinks for a couple bucks off! We enjoyed the blueberry smash mocktail, tequila old fashioned, bacon stuffed with chorizo wrapped dates, goat cheese carrots, duck fat fingerling potatoes, & le Mac with two short ribs added. All of it was so delicious we will definitely be back! Our server was sweet and the perfect balance of checking in with us. Lastly we ended with the furry pecan brownie - mmmm!
Met up with a grade school friend who I haven't seen in years. The staff were attentive and very friendly, and the space is unique - loved it. It's beautiful - would make a nice date night restaurant. Really enjoyed my meal and the wine. I would definitely go again. Parking is a little tricky they have a small lot in the back and street parking. If you go on their website they have great information on parking.
It's hard to put into words how great this place is. Have you ever been somewhere when everything just feels "right, balanced, happy"? That is Farish House. The cozy, intimate comfort of what used to be Coup des Tartes blended seamlessly with the deep, peaceful, gentle "love" you felt from House of Tricks into one calm, warm, easy spot. Farish House is a real, soul-warming experience across the board. The service, care, comfort, ambience, food, value and clear love they put into everything make Farish House our new favorite place. We walked through the front gate, up onto the front porch and inside where we took one of three small tables in the cozy front salon of this soul-warming 1899 French Bistro. *Food: we started with a bottle of Australian Cab. Shockingly good. And not crazy expensive, especially on Thursday when bottles are 30% off, it was an amazing deal. Turns out, the owner, Greg, was in the wine distribution business for several decades, curating wine programs for top Valley restaurants, so he really knows his stuff and their vast wine selection is amazing. We were offered a basket of truffle popcorn, mmm, salty, crunchy, and rich. We ordered the Chef's Selection Charcuterie and Warm Noble Baguette & Marinated Olives to get started. Both were beautifully curated, balanced, and incredibly high quality. The flavors and textures blended perfectly. with cheeses broken from large wheels, rather than cut and sliced, house-made pickled grapes, unique and unusual ingredients, smokey meats, compound butters, just awesome! We then moved into one of the cozy dining rooms and ordered the slow roasted Peposo Short Ribs and fingerling potatoes pan fried in duck fat served with Moroccan spiced aioli. Both were rich, warm and delicious. For dessert, and yes we thought we'd explode from all this food, we ordered a massive slice of bread pudding, some of the best I've ever had, rich, gooey and incredible. Along with that we ordered a beautiful Espresso Martini and an off-menu banana cream martini. Their drinks are not "poured" or mixed here, they're balanced and expertly crafted. This is French Bistro comfort food at its finest and it's unmistakeable. *Service: it just doesn't get better. Everyone working there is "family". And that's how they make you feel; like family, cared for, wanted, welcomed. Service isn't a choreographed masterpiece, no tuxedos, cloths draped over arms, napkins frantically re-folded when you step away, dishes served and cleared in unison. No, it's relaxed, warm, friendly, kind, like being at your grandmothers house and knowing you're surrounded by people who care. Met Greg and Katherine, the owners, and their daughter Alexandra and several other "family" members taking care of us. Their appreciation for your presence is unmistakable. *Ambience: it's just plain comfy, cozy, easy, relaxed, warm, deep, gentle, worn (in a good way), wise, and calm, that's the best I can describe it. Hard wood floors, cozy rooms, soft, warm lighting. It's a non-pretentious, French bistro that feels like the home of a favorite grandma or great aunt living in a warm family cottage in the outskirts of Paris. *Value: it's perfect. It's not ridiculously expensive like Kai, Brinkley's, Cafe Monarch, Christopher's, or French Laundry where you go, "okay, that was fun but we'll only do this very occasionally/rarely and it's probably worth it, but dang that was pricey!" No, Farish House is 100% value to experience, not cheap, but not overpriced, the balance is just right. It's a place you can go often, and we will. Yes, our meal with apps, drinks and dessert, some on happy hour and the Thursday wine special, was around $200. I'd happily say this experience was worth every penny. *Overall: I can't recommend Farish House highly enough. Parking is on the street or in a nearby lot, and that's a downtown thing. There's a small lot in back. The food, ambience, service, quality, and experience were stellar. I wish I could rate them 6 stars instead of just 5. I'll return often and highly recommend Farish House to everyone. I genuinely hope you enjoy as much as we did! read more
Of all the restaurants I have tried during my recent visit to Phoenix, this establishment is a stand out! We arrived just around dusk and since the weather was beautiful, we got a table on the patio. There is such a contrast of two vintage homes, one being the Farish House in a sea of highrise buildings in downtown Phoenix! If you like a restaurant with a great wine selection, this is your place. I was lucky enough to have both of the owners (Kathryn and Greg) come by and greet us. This bottle (pictured below) of Pinot Noir was suggested to us, and we decided to have with our meals since our chosen dishes were beef and pork. One of the best wines I have had recently. We had the stuffed date appetizers which were devoured so quickly I did not have a chance to snap a pho My friend chose the beef short rib dish, which was well presented and extremely flavorful. After carefully reading each item, it was very hard to make a choice. I ended up with the pork chop meal, see cauliflower/potato mash, asparagus, and the awesome sauce along with the perfectly cooked pork chop made my taste buds very happy! We had service by Ella who is fabulous and also got to meet the owners daughter Alexandria. But there's more! After much deliberation and compromise, we both decided to share the bread pudding. I have been to New Orleans many times where they make fantastic bread pudding. The Farish House bread pudding can stand up to the best of the bread pudding in New Orleans and that is saying a lot. If you are a foodie and like local family owned businesses, this is your spot. Since I am only visiting, I will not be here for their Saturday Tea Service! Thank you so much for providing me with another wonderfu and delicious memory of my Phoenix visit. As Arnold Schwarzenegger says "I'll be back!" We had one of those dinners last week that you just don't stop talking about. We went to The Farish House and sat at the bar around 8pm, which honestly turned out to be the perfect spot. Our bartender Andre was an absolute gem. He walked us through the menu, steered us in all the right directions, and made the whole experience feel effortless. We went a little overboard in the best possible way. We ordered nearly every appetizer on the menu, all of the sides, and split the beet and carrot salad three ways. For entrees, we each got something different so we could share. I had the short ribs over Yukon mash, Forrest got the cassoulet, and our boy had the filet mignon. Every single thing that hit the table was perfect. Seriously, we can't wait to go back read more

Food is delicious! Dates, liver pate, fingerling potatoes were to die for! No seed oils in our plates, all butter and cream. The cream sauce with the potatoes was maybe one of the best I've had. Highly recommend! Ambience is really fun, love the Victorian decor. read more

Small parking lot in the back for free parking. Nice, cozy restaurant. Since space is limited be sure to make a reservation. The menu didn't have many options so we were struggling to figure out the second dish we wanted. Must get the Chianti Braised Short Ribs! This was so good and especially the polenta was made so well. I would have gotten two of short rib dishes if I knew how the Lobster Risotto was going to taste. I didn't really like the flavor and it barely had any lobster pieces. It was not worth it. Service was great! A reminder they do not allow customers to bring their own cakes since they have their own cakes. read more
Farish House is a really nice restaurant in DT PHX. It is tucked away in an old house with a cute cozy vibe. It truly felt like you were dining in someone's home. The table sat our party of 10 very well and we're sat in a room in the back. It was great since we were the only table in that room, which was perfect since we were celebrating our friend's birthday. It created a nice intimate setting. My husband and I shared the short rib and dates. I liked the dates, but I wish the chorizo inside was spicer to complement the sweetness of the dates. The short rib was delicious. It was tender and had a nice presentation. I enjoyed the polenta a lot - it was creamy and flavorful. The balsamic drizzled on the plate and the gremolata on top paired well with the short rib. The gremolata had rosemary, which enhanced and did not overpower the dish. We also ordered a bottle of wine, which we enjoyed a lot. I ordered an espresso martini for dessert, which was good but I have had better ones at other restaurants. The service was pretty good. The wait staff made sure we had lots of water. Although I thought they would check on us a little bit more. Parking was okay. There is a small lot in the back, which is nice that is an option. We unfortunately did not get parking there and had to pay for street parking. Overall nice spot in Phoenix to have dinner! read more
Food is great and so is the service! Came here for dinner one night and got a take outside in the courtyard. The weather was perfect and they had a 4 piece quartet playing love music outside. It was sooooo nice! I asked my server for recommendations from the sweet server, and she gave me a few. I was feeling adventurous and ordered something I've never tried before and was I in for a treat. The food was absolutely fantastic! Flavor was on point, everything went well together. I was in food heaven. Meter parking on the street, pretty easy on a weeknight. The whole place was super cute! Wonderful experience! Highly recommend. read more
We came here for dinner Tuesday night and everything was great once again. The rooms with dining tables inside were all completely empty but there were some people sitting at the bar. The chicken liver pate, duck and carrots side were all delicious. The knickerbocker grew on me this time. It wasn't an instant like. read more

Afternoon tea was so amazing. Great handmade sandwiches and incredible scones. So delicious. Loved the Indian Darjeeling tea. Was such a great addition to the food. I really enjoyed that they come around with 2nds for your Sammie's if you want more. The chicken salad was the best I've ever had. It was a great location and beautiful inside also. Gretchen was a wonderful host to us. Very kind. read more
C'est magnifique! A wonderful dinner was thoroughly enjoyed recently in this most charming, intimate, cozy and quaint locale. An appetizer of bacon-wrapped dates was a sweetly delicious delight. Entrees of Cherry Duck Confit and Risotto Courgette with shrimp were both tasty and pleasing to the eye. A decadent dessert of Chocolate CheesecakeTerrine served oh-so tall on a gluten-free oreo cookie crust brought the meal to a most satisfying end. First time at Farish House. We came to celebrate our 40th anniversary. I suppose it was fitting that we dined an a house even older: the Farish House was originally built in 1899. It had seen multiple iterations but seemed to have found its niche. It was a really cute, if loud, quaint converted home. They offered both indoor and outdoor seating, but at 109 degrees on a June evening, we chose inside. We were immediately seated (reservations) in the 'front room' with three other parties. We loved the wonderful, time-worn decor. The acoustics were bare, so the loud birthday party at the next table was innocuous but we couldn't blame them for that. My wife ordered the simple salad, fingerling potatoes and the scallop risotto, plus a glass of wine. I got the Caesar salad, candied carrots and the short ribs. It all came to $123.80 plus tip. Our salad arrived quickly and I was pleasantly surprised by mine. It was baby whole-leaf romaine, dressed with a tangy dressing and freshly shaved Parmesan. The 'croutons' were two-inch cubes of soft garlic bread. Perfect. Our entrees and sides arrived shortly after we finished our salads. The glazed carrots had a nice zip to them and the potatoes had a yummy turmeric and curry aioli. My short ribs, nestled in warm polenta, were rich, savory and tender. My knife went ignored the entire meal. I must say, I hadn't had a meal so elegant, graceful, fulfilling, soulful and downright tasty in a long time. We will be back. read more
Super cute historic house restaurant, I love that we have these in Phoenix. The patio was adorable especially when the lights turned on, unfortunately when we made our reservation we thought it would be too hot to sit out there and requested an inside table. We were seated in what we coined the birdhouse room which had incredibly plain and woody, uninteresting decor consisting of actual birdhouses, drawings of birdhouses, plain wooden tables with uncomfortable mismatched wooden chairs, and with zero pops of color. Other rooms I peeked at had color on the walls and drapes, decor that seemed more on par with the menu prices. Now, the menu and food... either the current menu, or the place, is REALLY into duck and pork, maybe beef too, to the point where it was tough for a *chicken and fish (lean protein) person* to actually order a meal. The only fish was swordfish, which in my opinion is neither good nor good for you. There was a vegan mushroom Wellington but it had almond cheese and I didn't trust a meat place to do that well. So I ordered the saffron chicken noodle soup and a simple green salad. The simple green salad was a huge pile of nice greens tossed in oil and salt with a few blistered tomatoes on the side. Uninspiring but at least the greens were fresh. Would have appreciated stems trimmed off. The soup could have been so much better - there were 3 main problems. 1) Clear soup served in a flat wide bowl is difficult to eat. No sipping the last of the broth. 2) The noodles were significantly undercooked (not al dente. Undercooked with hard centers). 3) Wasn't served hot. Soup should be steaming when it comes to the table. It was warm. After a few minutes it was difficult to call it warm. The saffron flavor was there. The veggies were fully cooked. They messed up the easy stuff. Dessert probably saved this place from a 2* review. Wasn't the best ever but I liked the two my family of 3 shared. Tiramisu - I'd say it was not typical and more like a light fluffy tiramisu cake with no chocolate flavor at all. The dark chocolate mousse with fresh whip and mango puree... not big on fruit intruding on our chocolate desserts, we initially were avoiding the mango on the plate. When we first tasted the mousse, we thought the chocolate bordered on having a spicy flavor. It was really strange. The trick was you absolutely had to get some mango puree (and fresh whip of course) in the spoonful for sweetness. It grew on us as we ate it and were sad when the plate was empty. Others in my party enjoyed their pork belly/short rib. Those dishes just aren't my taste. Even though the menu changes please make having a chicken option standard as well as a more boring fish (salmon or a light white fish) or perhaps shrimp. Hope to come back to a menu with some lean protein options, sit in a different room, and rate this better one day. read more
Very cute restaurant, and very nice host and wait staff. Lots of metered parking nearby. Greeted with free truffle popcorn right when we sat down. Ordered the Duck Fat Fingerlings and Olive/Baguette with butter shareables, all of which were very tasty! My friends both got the filet mignon, and while the mashed potatoes were good, and the steaks were cooked correctly, but they said the steaks were rather bland, which was disappointing for the price point. My duck cassoulet was alright, the duck was moist, but the skin was almost too cripsy/dry. The whole meal seemed like almost too much food, with the pork and sausage in the cassoulet, along with a whole duck leg, at least you get your moneys worth. Every since my birthday of December of 2024 me and my boyfriend have made this our date night spot, the staff here are so lovely and sweet to all their costumers we never have a problem with our drinks we've made a little game to finish all the entire wine list they offer, my favorite is their Thursday 30% bottles and their Fat duck fingers (i believe that's the name) we absolutely love this place and if your ever trying to find a nice little spot to have a drink or dinner this is the place to go from the music to the decor it's truly a magical place t read more

One of the best dining experiences in Phoenix! We spent Valentine's Day on the patio and had an excellent meal. The drinks, appetizers, entrees, dessert, and staff were exceptional. Came here to celebrate my moms birthday for tea service Service: Angie was really sweet and accommodating to all our requests. She went out of her way to get us to go cups and help with menu questions Food: the tea sandwiches were unfortunately not great however the scones and pastries were really good! Drinks: the rose tea was amazing, I even took what I had left home so I wouldn't waste it! I finally made it to the Farish House and it lived up to the reviews! The food had layers of flavor that were so well balanced but complex at the same time. We ordered lots of things so we could try as much as possible. Bread and olives: compound butter was a nice touch, olives were exceptionally good Bacon Wrapped Dates: I personally like the smaller size, the back was crispy and it was a delicious combo of sweet and savory Carrots: the goat cheese cream was all melted into the honey garlic to make a dreamy sauce Duck Fat Fingerlings: perfectly cooked and the Moroccan spiced aioli was so good!! Potato Leek soup: a little thicker than I prefer, but the tasted made up for it and the crispy leek garnish added a nice texture Le Mac: I find that a lot of mac and cheese is too soupy or too dry and this was just right! It was full of flavor with the right touch of nutmeg and the crispy parm on top was a nice touch Short Ribs: Tender and the polenta was perfectly creamy Filet: This was cooked well with great flavor. The one and only complaint was the potatoes dauphinois. We all 3 tasted it and it had zero flavor, like plain boiled potatoes. I can only imagine it was a mistake as everything else was so incredibly flavorful. They were gracious enough to swap another side to replace it (ordered a second polenta!) We also ordered the Side car, Blackberry Smash (add vodka), spicy paloma and the Rosemary Lemon Drop. All were fantastic! The service was very good and everyone was attentive and friendly. My initial walk in of the restaurant was pleasant as our server had some pazzas and immediately got us water and a feel for the place. He had me try two wines before finding the one I liked. The food is what I want to get to however, I got the short ribs which were slightly under salted and a touch dry but over all good. It was pared with a cornmeal, vegetables and a vinaigrette. All together it was a nice meal though for the price of $38 is a bit excessive. I'd pay $24. The mac and cheese was good but basic. This was somewhat to be expected given the description of it. Met up with some girlfriends for dinner and drinks before we set off for a show downtown. We made reservations to ensure we would have seating in time. I was pretty excited to give Farish a try, it had been on my bookmark list for months! After checking out the menu we went with small plates to share. We ordered the dates, marinated heirloom tomato burrata, honeyed nut and fruit crostini and a side of Le Mac with short rib added. Everything tasted amazing, my favorite was the dates tho . They are noor dates stuffed with chorizo wrapped in bacon with a tomato jam. We all enjoyed our bites and drinks at The Farish House. Glad to have finally given them a try! read more
