This will be my third time at your space. Once at filthy with friends , second celebrating a 29th anniversary and third with a group to experience uppercut , your premier dining experience. Over all, the space is beautiful coming thru the wine cellar into the 20 person omakase setting and being seated at the bar for the ultimate show. The chef and assistants were great as they went thru every dish one by one, 17 in total, and you left sated but not overly so nicely done on that end. And as with any omakase you are more fond of some dishes over others. Just as you are if you would do this in Japan. What was frustrating was the servers were too quick to pick up your plates , as some I didn't even get to enjoy nor asked if I was finished. I was with 6 people and whilst talking would find my last dish whisked away without a word. This happened to me on the bread (delicious by the way), the intermezzo And a few other beef dishes. So I feel like I had to eat quickly or fall victim to the ham burglar ! I understand it's a fast pace to get thru 17 courses , but just ask me if I am finished , I'm quite good at answering yes or no. Spending over $2k for dinner for 6 , I would think some enjoyment should come out of it not frustration. Over all , for me, it would be a one and done. Thankful for the opportunity to be part of the concept , yet not sure I would recommend to my friends. This shouldn't take away from the staff behind the bar as they were really outstanding and fun to watch. Just had to keep one eye on my dish and the other on the chefs. Over all , I think I would rather sit in filthy and drink and eat those amazing duck fries.

This is a combo review as I went to Cleverman a couple weeks ago and then Uppercut last evening. The space, all throughout deserves 8 out of 5 stars. The detail, the ambience, the ability to make you feel special is beyond words. Sadly, the actual experience doesn't quite match that vibe. Perhaps for some who always overlook the reality vs perception and are all about an IG post will say differently. I don't mind paying $50 or $500 for a meal; but it should at least match the expectation. Service at Cleverman was great (I cannot remember her name but she was outstanding - we went on 3/27 for anniversary. Please clone her!). My filet was excellent, my partner's "infamous" Prime rib was infamous for the wrong reasons. The brine or salt seasoning permeated too deeply in the cut making the entire outer edges inedible (they did compensate). The sides were great. The drinks were even better. Other than the not feeling special for a special occasion (which I was able to explain to a manager and given a sincere apology), this experience was overall pretty good. 3.95 stars. Lol. As for Uppercut. This one's challenging. So many good things yet so many not so good things. Do you get your $'s worth?..... NO Full disclosure, 4 of our 6 arrived at 6:35, the other 2, 6:40. They do say prompt arrival is imperative. Perhaps our tardiness threw off the balance. Overall, the food was excellent (carefully prepared and served). The space is beautiful and intimate (although if you are in a group, it is challenging to chat with more than the person on either side). The things I thought to be challenging. Servers often took plates away before asking if I was finished. There were some dishes I was waiting for flavors to integrate before consuming and 4 of them left unfinished. I understand, it's a timed thing, but let me have 2 plates in front of me and let me choose when and how I want to finish. I had one drink (btw - forget the wine list. Sad as I'm a wine lover and know it goes so well with beef). The old fashioned was $30 and mediocre. The drinks in the main restaurant and Filthy are better and a 1/3 less. I don't mind paying more; but if I do, it better wow me. Our service, while adequate, wasn't overly gracious or appreciative. If I am spending $1300 for 4 people, I expect more. Perhaps this space isn't for me. It doesn't mean it's not for you. Don't believe the hype. But also don't believe that just the hype will make your overall experience magical. Would I recommend uppercut? No. Cleverman? Probably. Filthy? A DEFINITE yes. There are so many steak restaurants coming downtown. Sure the vibe will still be a main attraction, but what will keep people coming back?

Came here on a whim on a Saturday night with my husband before a comedy show because I was craving a really good martini. I started with the house brine martini (vodka), and honestly, it wasn't my favorite, the onion flavor was a bit overpowering. The brine is supposed to be pepperoncini, olive, and pickle, but it didn't quite hit the balance I was hoping for. We also ordered the bread, which I think would've been much better served warm. It came out a little cold, and the topping leaned a bit too heavily on bacon bits for my taste. For starters, we had oysters on the half shell half West Coast, half East Coast. As a West Coast girly, those were my favorite! Super fresh huge, and absolutely delicious. Dinner, though, was the highlight. We ordered the A5 Australian Wagyu filet and added a caviar-topped lobster tail, and both were phenomenal. Everything was cooked perfectly and felt like a true treat. We also tried the mashed potatoes, which unfortunately were a bit gluey and overmixed. I gave the martini another shot with a classic olive brine vodka version, but it still didn't wow me. Overall, we had a good experience. The staff was great, and I'd definitely come back just skipping the martinis and bread next time.

I have the best bosses! For lunch on Admin Professionals Day, they took me to Cleaverman. And it was so good! We tried so many dishes! There were definitely some standouts. Let's start with dessert. We tried both the cheesecake and the chocolate cake. Please don't make me choose a favorite because I really can't. Both were amazing - so full of flavor. Ok, back to the beginning. The Oysters! We had both east coast and west coast. I hate to say it being from New England, but I liked the West Coast best. East was good, but west were just a little better. Being from New England, we had to try the lobster roll. It was decent, but IMO, too many additions. I prefer my lobster roll without all the fancy accessories. All I need is a whole lot lobster, a little mayo or butter and a nice toasty roll. The French Onion Meatballs were unique, but absolutely delicious. Another favorite was the shrimp ceviche. The addition of the horseradish was unexpected but really worked well with the shrimp. Check my photos to see everything we tried. All of it was so good! And our server did a great job of spacing out the dishes so we didn't get everything at once. As for the decor and atmosphere, the place gave me old school vibes - from the half-moon banquettes to the floor to ceiling gold curtains. It was classy and beautiful, like something from the Rat Pack era. I loved it!

If you are looking for that Scottsdale steakhouse vibe, this is your place. It is very much a club like experience with loud music, a flashy room, and a whole see and be seen energy. The room delivers a full sensory experience with dramatic decor, pulsing energy, and a see and be seen crowd. It feels more like a nightclub than a traditional steakhouse. For some, that is the appeal. For me, it missed the mark. The music is the biggest disconnect. It is loud enough that conversation becomes a chore. Expect to raise your voice and repeat yourself more than once, not because of poor service but because no one can hear you. The soundtrack leans into electronic must, which clashes with the otherwise polished and upscale aesthetic. A shift toward jazz or something more restrained would better match the room and elevate the experience. The food is good, though it does not quite justify the price point across the board. We started with the duck foie gras fries, which were the clear favorite at the table. Richand indulgent. The French onion meatballs were exactly as described, creative but polarizing. The crab cake was excellent in flavor, though difficult to justify for a single portion at that price. For mains, the table split between steaks and seafood. The ribeye, filet, and porterhouse were all cooked beautifully and delivered the level of execution you expect from a serious steakhouse. On the seafood side, the scallops stood out for their texture, tender and properly prepared. The lobster was classic and satisfying. The salmon had a lovely sauce but was dry. Sides were mixed. The brussel sprouts were overly oily. The mushrooms had good depth but salty. The spinach was fine but unremarkable. The standouts were the potato puree and the cornbread, both of which the table kept going back to. We also ordered the mac and cheese, which never arrived. It was removed from the bill upon request, though the interaction with the server left us feeling like the server thought we were lying. Cocktails are a highlight. The Mischief in a Glass earns its reputation. Light, slightly tart, and very easy to enjoy. It fits the atmosphere better than almost anything else on the menu. In the end, this is a place you go for the scene. It is built for a night out where the energy matters as much as the meal. If you want a quieter dinner with strong value and a more classic steakhouse feel, there are better options. If you want a high energy night with a side of steak, this delivers. Just be prepared for the price tag. ENJOY!!

First experience wasn't so great on their opening night, but last night they redeemed their selves. I had their perfect martini with their house made brine. Delicious. My friend and I shared the golden oysters with beef marrow, the crab Louis salad, and the beef tartare. All were amazing. The best marrow I've tasted to date. Very old school vibes I love it! The bar was busy, so it took a bit to get our orders in, but my friend and I were busy catching up so we didn't mind.

Food: exceptional, I had the aged ribeye. The house cocktail was lovely, I don't recall which I had. Service: 5 star and friendly. Ambience: it's given old Hollywood chic. So stylist, Instagram worthy!

I have been dying to try this place and see what Pretty Decent Concepts newest addition was like. I'd say they hit it on the head with this one. I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday, and the restaurant decor is absolutely impeccable. When you first walk in down the long hallway and then it opens up to a old school steakhouse it really sets the tone. As for food, we got the baked potato bread, the oysters with bone marrow, and then shared the bone in dry aged ribeye. Bread was amazing and so funny how it tasted exactly like a baked potato. The oysters were our favorite and the bone marrow was cooked to perfection. As for the steak, it was cooked perfectly - I would say maybe a tad bit under seasoned though. Drinks were great and service was top notch. Our server even squeezed us in to check out Filthy Martini!

Service was amazing. Very attentive and friendly. The location feels like old money, definitely fine dining and social. Everything we ordered was good but the potato puree took it. Oysters, very fresh but very small. The scallops, cooked perfectly, entree has 4. Steaks (Filet and Ribeye), however good, but not great. Iv had better steaks (full of flavor), at a more reasonable price. Overall a really good experience but somewhat underwhelming.

I made a reservation to this place and it exceeded my expectations from the moment I arrived, the service was superb from the front door all the way to the dining room. I love that from the outside you can't see inside. It gives a feel that you better book to go inside to experience. I enjoyed the complimentary champagne to celebrate a special occasion. The food came out and it was fresh and delicious. The portion of the meal was enough for two and I'm glad I didn't order another entree because it would've been too much.

Great experience from greeting, to seating, to eating. Our waiter was great and I hate that I cant remember his name, but he made so many great recommendations AND was super patient with all 9 of our guest personalities LOL. We loved the aesthetic, definitely gave 20s speakeasy, with the draped curtains and dim lighting. Considering how busy it was, we all could hear each other and still felt the intimacy within the space. We ordered so much food, everything was delicious- from cocktails, to salads, to steaks, the presentation was impeccable. I will definitely be going back for the hamachi and to try some new things.

I met a friend here for a drink and was kind of blown away when I walked in. The vibe is really cool. It's decorated very lush, in the best of ways. The lighting was perfect. The seating was comfortable. I was greeted promptly by the hostess in a friendly way and we chose to sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly and helpful offering suggestions if we'd liked. My drink was incredible! They kept our waters filled the entire time. After this experience I would really like to go back for food!

An ideal setting for a date night or birthday celebration. The staff was exceptional -- attentive, detail-oriented, and consistently warm throughout the experience. The food was equally impressive; the branzino was outstanding, and the pureed mashed potatoes were simply unmatched. The ambiance and decor were outstanding! I'd absolutely dine at this establishment again.

This is my at-least-once-a-month spot for catching up with friends, popping in solo, or grabbing a "just one drink" that may or may not turn into two. The beer selection is massive, borderline intimidating, and the wine list rotates often, which I love. Pro tip: don't play beer roulette unless you enjoy surprises that might hurt your feelings. Instead, tell the bartender what you like and they'll work their magic, usually with a taste so you don't commit to something you regret. As a wine drinker, I especially appreciate when they suggest something I wouldn't normally order and absolutely nail it. The vibe is casual but a sort of kind of sexy (weird). The dim lighting, great energy, and zero pressure might be it. Bar seating up front, games if you're feeling social, and high tables in the back for groups or communal mingling. It's the kind of place where you can settle in... or pop in, pop out, and still feel satisfied without spending your rent money. They have small bites like grilled cheese and occasional cheese plates, but let's be honest, this is not a food destination, and that's perfectly fine. My beer-loving friends can happily sample half the menu while I sip a perfectly chilled Sauvignon Blanc and judge none of it. And finally, the real MVPs: the bartenders. Always friendly, always helpful, always down to chat, especially if you're there solo (hi, it's me again!). They'll listen to you ramble, offer great suggestions, and somehow make you feel like a regular even if you're just stopping in briefly. Reliable, fun, unpretentious, and consistently solid. The Whining Pig is a downtown staple for a reason.

I recently stopped by to see what it looked like and try one of their dishes. In the spirit of Thunderbird, at The Pub, it is said that "global flavors and local charm come together to create an unforgettable dining experience." This is a great place for a meal with co-workers, hosting a gathering for a special celebration, or having a low-key meal. I took a book and gave it a try on my own. The sides include chicken wings, chicken tenders, hummus snack plate, or various ways to prepare fries. They have soup, salad, flatbread, entree bowls, and many burgers and sandwiches.
