Great ambience & architecture inside. Came during restaurant week and enjoyed the menu offering for: appetizer, steak and dessert. Service was good, but lacked attention from our server due to larger dinner groups around us.

First, the ambiance of this place is top notch. The moment you enter and walk down the small hallway that is draped in brown velvet, the atmosphere is set. With velvet booths in the bar, leather booths in the main dining area and golf and wood everywhere, the place feels quite upscale. Our server came promptly and was fairly attentive throughout the evening. There is a buzz of staff so around, so our water was constantly being topped off and empty plates were cleared right away. I ordered my usual amaretto sour, and it was delicious. The egg white foam had a little feather drawn on it. Hubby ordered a Heineken on draft, but they were out and he had to have it in a bottle. He was disappointed, but it was okay. We started with the French onion meatballs with crostini and the colossal shrimp cocktail. If you know me, you know I'm weird about onions, but I did that the French onion meatballs, and they were good. The shrimp in my cocktail were HUGE. You get 2 of them, but each one was like 5 bites each. We each ordered the 8 oz NY Strip with mashed potatoes and charred broccolini. I love charred broccolini, and I loved this one! The steaks were cooked perfectly. For dessert we shared a chocolate fudge cake with raspberry sorbet. Delish!!!! This place is a great date night restaurant, and we saw several large parties celebrating occasions. It also looks like a great place to sit at the bar and have a cocktail.

This meal was so good! Started with the Wagyu carpaccio and the escargot and both were fantastic! I had the fancy girl cocktail and it was really good. It was a little small but so tasty. then for my main I had the fillet and I loved it with the Bernaise sauce! My mom had some issues with her prime rib, but that was partially on her and even still the restaurant really made sure that she got something that she liked. Noah was our server and he was fantastic! The overall vibe in the hair is really swanky and cool. It's definitely on the pricey side but if you're celebrating or have a special occasion, I think it's worth it.

Our dinner last night at Cleverman was a wonderful experience. We met with some friends and shared a table for 4, had delicious meals and enjoyed an overall nice service. The filet was delicious and I enjoyed the peppercorn sauce to dip it in. The branzino was good as well but next time we may try some more of the seafood items to branch out a little bit.

Really nice place unique makes me feel like the roaring 20s on the decor set at the bar and had dinner. It was a great vibe. The bartenders were very attentive and the drinks were really good as well. The place was packed so you definitely should get your reservation before trying to come. I would definitely go back here for those meatballs. They were incredible and the lobster Wellington was very very good as well. First experience wasn't so great on their opening night, but last night they redeemed their selves. I had their perfect martini with their house made brine. Delicious. My friend and I shared the golden oysters with beef marrow, the crab Louis salad, and the beef tartare. All were amazing. The best marrow I've tasted to date. Very old school vibes I love it! The bar was busy, so it took a bit to get our orders in, but my friend and I were busy catching up so we didn't mind.

Came here on a whim on a Saturday night with my husband before a comedy show because I was craving a really good martini. I started with the house brine martini (vodka), and honestly, it wasn't my favorite, the onion flavor was a bit overpowering. The brine is supposed to be pepperoncini, olive, and pickle, but it didn't quite hit the balance I was hoping for. We also ordered the bread, which I think would've been much better served warm. It came out a little cold, and the topping leaned a bit too heavily on bacon bits for my taste. For starters, we had oysters on the half shell half West Coast, half East Coast. As a West Coast girly, those were my favorite! Super fresh huge, and absolutely delicious. Dinner, though, was the highlight. We ordered the A5 Australian Wagyu filet and added a caviar-topped lobster tail, and both were phenomenal. Everything was cooked perfectly and felt like a true treat. We also tried the mashed potatoes, which unfortunately were a bit gluey and overmixed. I gave the martini another shot with a classic olive brine vodka version, but it still didn't wow me. Overall, we had a good experience. The staff was great, and I'd definitely come back just skipping the martinis and bread next time.

Ok! Add this place to the top of your sexy date night list! We celebrated our anniversary and we ate well! Oysters, WAGYU carpaccio and bread to start, which was delish. The carpaccio was hands down, the best I have had, it melted in my mouth. Cocktails were great, lots of different drinks to choose from. The mains were amazing! The lobster was so succulent and buttery. The duck fat fries were so good! It's a huge portion but a must to share! Overall I loved the decor and make sure you make a reservation for the speakeasy after! It's a cute little martini bar, but you need a reservation.

I have the best bosses! For lunch on Admin Professionals Day, they took me to Cleaverman. And it was so good! We tried so many dishes! There were definitely some standouts. Let's start with dessert. We tried both the cheesecake and the chocolate cake. Please don't make me choose a favorite because I really can't. Both were amazing - so full of flavor. Ok, back to the beginning. The Oysters! We had both east coast and west coast. I hate to say it being from New England, but I liked the West Coast best. East was good, but west were just a little better. Being from New England, we had to try the lobster roll. It was decent, but IMO, too many additions. I prefer my lobster roll without all the fancy accessories. All I need is a whole lot lobster, a little mayo or butter and a nice toasty roll. The French Onion Meatballs were unique, but absolutely delicious. Another favorite was the shrimp ceviche. The addition of the horseradish was unexpected but really worked well with the shrimp. Check my photos to see everything we tried. All of it was so good! And our server did a great job of spacing out the dishes so we didn't get everything at once. As for the decor and atmosphere, the place gave me old school vibes - from the half-moon banquettes to the floor to ceiling gold curtains. It was classy and beautiful, like something from the Rat Pack era. I loved it!

Food: exceptional, I had the aged ribeye. The house cocktail was lovely, I don't recall which I had. Service: 5 star and friendly. Ambience: it's given old Hollywood chic. So stylist, Instagram worthy!

I have been dying to try this place and see what Pretty Decent Concepts newest addition was like. I'd say they hit it on the head with this one. I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday, and the restaurant decor is absolutely impeccable. When you first walk in down the long hallway and then it opens up to a old school steakhouse it really sets the tone. As for food, we got the baked potato bread, the oysters with bone marrow, and then shared the bone in dry aged ribeye. Bread was amazing and so funny how it tasted exactly like a baked potato. The oysters were our favorite and the bone marrow was cooked to perfection. As for the steak, it was cooked perfectly - I would say maybe a tad bit under seasoned though. Drinks were great and service was top notch. Our server even squeezed us in to check out Filthy Martini!

The ambience was super cool but the food was a bit over priced for the quality. Service was okay, probably will try other steakhouses before I'd be back

Overview: Amazing place highly recommend, food and service was amazing. Very aesthetic. FOOD: - 8oz Filet: 9/10. The flavor was incredible and the steak was so well seasoned that the sauce wasn't even necessary. - Chicken: 8/10. The chicken had a perfect crispy texture on the outside while staying juicy and tender on the inside. The gravy was a little overpowering for my preference, but it didn't take away from the overall flavor. - Mac & Cheese: 10/10. Absolutely loved it. It was rich and cheesy without being too heavy or overpowering. - Potato Purée: 10/10. Smooth, creamy, and packed with amazing flavor. DRINKS - Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin Cocktail: 10/10. Very refreshing with a perfect balance of sweetness and fruitiness. The alcohol flavor was present but not overpowering. - Mischief in a Glass: 8/10 alcohol was overpowering, but it was sweet and fruitful. Service: 10/10. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, which plays a huge role in creating a great dining experience Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant. Our server, Eric C., was amazing very knowledgeable, attentive, and informative when answering all of our questions. The outstanding service made the entire experience even better.

This is my at-least-once-a-month spot for catching up with friends, popping in solo, or grabbing a "just one drink" that may or may not turn into two. The beer selection is massive, borderline intimidating, and the wine list rotates often, which I love. Pro tip: don't play beer roulette unless you enjoy surprises that might hurt your feelings. Instead, tell the bartender what you like and they'll work their magic, usually with a taste so you don't commit to something you regret. As a wine drinker, I especially appreciate when they suggest something I wouldn't normally order and absolutely nail it. The vibe is casual but a sort of kind of sexy (weird). The dim lighting, great energy, and zero pressure might be it. Bar seating up front, games if you're feeling social, and high tables in the back for groups or communal mingling. It's the kind of place where you can settle in... or pop in, pop out, and still feel satisfied without spending your rent money. They have small bites like grilled cheese and occasional cheese plates, but let's be honest, this is not a food destination, and that's perfectly fine. My beer-loving friends can happily sample half the menu while I sip a perfectly chilled Sauvignon Blanc and judge none of it. And finally, the real MVPs: the bartenders. Always friendly, always helpful, always down to chat, especially if you're there solo (hi, it's me again!). They'll listen to you ramble, offer great suggestions, and somehow make you feel like a regular even if you're just stopping in briefly. Reliable, fun, unpretentious, and consistently solid. The Whining Pig is a downtown staple for a reason.

I remember touring the administrative offices, the dining hall, the classrooms, the residence halls, and other random buildings, but the most memorable stop was The Pub, which was rooted in much Thunderbird tradition. Now, years later with a new building in place at ASU, I was delighted to learn that The Pub still exists but in a new space (on the fifth floor). I recently stopped by to see what it looked like and try one of their dishes. In the spirit of Thunderbird, at The Pub, it is said that "global flavors and local charm come together to create an unforgettable dining experience." This is a great place for a meal with co-workers, hosting a gathering for a special celebration, or having a low-key meal. I took a book and gave it a try on my own. The sides include chicken wings, chicken tenders, hummus snack plate, or various ways to prepare fries. They have soup, salad, flatbread, entree bowls, and many burgers and sandwiches. They also have all sorts of drink options (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). It was national root beer float day (or something of the sort), so every burger came with a free root beer float. I jumped at that and got the Thunderbird Pub Burger (seasoned 6oz all beef patty, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, American Cheese, signature pub sauce Brioche Bun, served with Crispy French Fries). It was delicious!! In fact, it was better than delicious when paired with a free root beer float! They have regular hours of noon to 5 PM on weekdays (though they are open until 9 PM on Thursdays. They do have seasonal hours when they close early or entirely when classes are not in session. Happy hour specials are from 3-5 PM daily. While there are many great places to eat at ASU, I certainly recommend The Pub at Thunderbird.
