Came in for drinks and apps after a long day of work. I was crossing my fingers they would have a happy hour menu, but sadly they do not offer happy hour. We were seated in the bar as soon as we walked in. Ambiance is incredible - this place really sets the tone with moody lighting and fitting music. Our waitress was attentive and friendly, although she seemed confused that we were only ordering apps and not a full dinner. We ordered the meatballs and duck fat fries to share. The meatballs were delicious according to my partner, but the fries were VERY mediocre and honestly gross. I only picked at them and another waiter seemed offended we did not want a box to take them home. I got a single glass of sparkling rose and my partner got their classic martini. Pretty limited wine list for a steakhouse. These four items came out to over $100, not including tip. Ending on a happy note - their bathroom is so so so cute and perfect for pics ladies! :)

From the moment you walk in you can just tell how amazing the decor is. Place wasn't too loud and server was amazing. Food is fantastic here, best steak i've had so far. I can say that the brussels sprouts were rather greasy though but overall super good. Overall an amazing experience, they also have a speakeasy towards the restrooms and a private dining area behind their wine area.

I checked this place out for lunch. A very nice place in every way. Ambiance, decor, service and selection of food and drink was nicely curated. Has a definite old school/new vibe feel about it. I liked their cocktail menu and the bartender's ability to put together some classics too (Last Word).

Went here for my husband's birthday. I love the ambiance of this restaurant.. it's very classy and old school. The music goes well with the ambience. Service was excellent. The food was not our favorite. It started off great with the French onion meatballs and escargot appetizers. I thought both dishes were unique and excellent. We also got the shellfish gratin (crab), which was a bit salty and too much like the escargot (which was better). I wish our server would have told us that. Dinner was not the best. The steak quality was not great. We ordered the very expensive lobster wellington because we wanted to try it, but it just didn't work well. The prosciutto made it too salty and since lobster is hard to cut, the whole thing fell apart. The lobster inside was cooked well, so we would have been better off ordering lobster only. For the sides, we ordered the creamed corn bread and creamed spinach. We were expecting creamed corn but it was literally bread with corn underneath, and the spinach was too salty so we had to send it back. For my husband's birthday the only dessert they offered complimentary was the Dubai chocolate parfait. Meh. There was hardly any chocolate and it was mostly filled with the kataifi. It was a nice dinner because of the ambience but we didn't enjoy the food too much.

This is my first experience here and I really enjoyed our meal and experience there. Our party of three enjoyed appetizers, and three different main course meals. Two had cocktails and I had a "never-empty" Coke Zero. We were well-taken care of from the moment we walked in, until our last moment there. I believe Shawn was our lead server, and he was accompanied by several others attending to every moment of our meal. We each ordered a different meat and had a variety of sides. The filet, my order, was definitely my favorite. One order prime rib and the other a ribeye. Each were good, yet I think the filet was the best!

We went here for a night out and were not disappointed at all. I thought the atmosphere reminded me of the roaring 20s. There was an upbeat vibe. The service was exceptional. We were having a delayed birthday celebration for one of my best friends and they brought a card out for her. I had the scallops which were okay and then the Yorkshire pudding which was divine! We also split a couple of desserts- including the crunchy Dubai pistachio ice cream- I could have ate the entire thing myself. Drinks were also decent (but maybe a bit pricey). There are a lot of photo opportunities and a cool connected cocktail bar with live music. I can't wait to return!

Nope. Another disappointment from this very confused steakhouse downtown. I had a reservation for 8pm. I was seated at the wrong table by 830 and the restaurant was half empty. I did notice a manager catering to a woman that was alone at the bar? He didnt really seem to care that my party and I were standing there waiting to be seated at one of the five empty tables around me. Awful. It's worth mentioning that I booked on open table with my sapphire reserve card that is meant to get preferred seating? What a joke. I brought some of my staff to impress them. Clearly I impressed upon them that we should not come back here. You guys have been open for a while and you still haven't figured out how to seat a table on time? Wow. The food was decent but if the service is crap who cares? If I return, I will only sit at the bar from now on. Terrible.

My fiancé and I went here for a anniversary dinner and it was incredible! The food was spectacular and our server Stephanie was the best. She made sure that we were happy with our food and was knowledgeable! The ambiance here is so fun and perfect for a meal with your significant other.

The Cleaverman is a really nice establishment. I have only been to the bar area on both occasions but each time I'm really impressed by the overall ambience and quality of food choices. On the first time that we ended up at this location, it was kind of Luke. We sat at the bar enjoyed happy hour and that was a nice treat. The prices are extraordinarily affordable, but I believe it's only for one hour at the beginning of opening up the establishment. On this occasion, we just had drinks, but we were so impressed with the quality of them and the service. We decided to come back and try it again. On our next occasion, we sat at the bar also, but we tried some appetizers. For this time it wasn't happy hour, and the drinks were a lot more pricey, but overall the quality was still there. For appetizers, we got the Wagyu meatballs, the duck fries, and crabcake. The crabcake was so delicious and tasty but you only get one and the price is high...high...high Anyway, I definitely wanna come back and actually get a reservation and have a dinner at this steakhouse. Was really nice about is that they do have a fresh meat display so you can see all the current cuts and what they're looking like. In addition, my understanding is they have a beef Omakase and what you basically get to try several sample sizes of meat all beef. So I thought that was kind of cool my understanding that that is not every night you must have reservations and it's a cost of pretty penny. I will come back here, it's likely gonna be a special occasion. Would love to try some of the desserts as they did have a Dubai chocolate parfait that looked divine. For this location, remember it is attached to the Arizona center, so if you do in a parking in the garage, make sure to bring in your ticket. This establishment does validate for up to two hours for parking at the Arizona center garage.

I came here for my anniversary. First off the atmosphere was really nice, it felt you you were in a restaurant from the 1920s. Our server Sky was on top of everything and she made recommendations of what works with what every dish, and described everything to us perfectly. The drinks were all delicious and strong. We both ordered the sirloin and the steaks were really flavorful and cooked perfectly. The sides and the chopped salad were perfect seasoned and delicious as well. They also gave us a complimentary glasses of champagne after dinner.

Delicious! Celebrated a very belated birthday by having lunch, we managed to have every kind of French fry in the place and they're all very good, the truffle fries were the favorite. There were 3 of us and we had the Ceviche, Duck fries, lobster roll, steak and frites. We have decided after trying multiple lobster rolls that we just don't get lol no offense to the restaurant, it's just us but we enjoyed the bread more then the lobster part, we tried it because we figured if we didn't like it here, where it would be perfect then we probably just don't like it and can stop trying The streak and frites came out a little under done (fine by me) and my other 2 guests still very much enjoyed it and commented on how high quality it was and that they would order it medium rare again. The ceviche was amazing the lavosh was a fun new way to eat it. We love Ceviche and this one is at the top of the list now (Diego Pops coconut lemongrass one is another favorite). Service was great, friendly and knowledgeable.

First, the ambiance of this place is top notch. The moment you enter and walk down the small hallway that is draped in brown velvet, the atmosphere is set. With velvet booths in the bar, leather booths in the main dining area and golf and wood everywhere, the place feels quite upscale. Our server came promptly and was fairly attentive throughout the evening. There is a buzz of staff so around, so our water was constantly being topped off and empty plates were cleared right away. I ordered my usual amaretto sour, and it was delicious. The egg white foam had a little feather drawn on it. Hubby ordered a Heineken on draft, but they were out and he had to have it in a bottle. He was disappointed, but it was okay. We started with the French onion meatballs with crostini and the colossal shrimp cocktail. If you know me, you know I'm weird about onions, but I did that the French onion meatballs, and they were good. The shrimp in my cocktail were HUGE. You get 2 of them, but each one was like 5 bites each. We each ordered the 8 oz NY Strip with mashed potatoes and charred broccolini. I love charred broccolini, and I loved this one! The steaks were cooked perfectly. For dessert we shared a chocolate fudge cake with raspberry sorbet. Delish!!!! This place is a great date night restaurant, and we saw several large parties celebrating occasions. It also looks like a great place to sit at the bar and have a cocktail.

This meal was so good! Started with the Wagyu carpaccio and the escargot and both were fantastic! I had the fancy girl cocktail and it was really good. It was a little small but so tasty. then for my main I had the fillet and I loved it with the Bernaise sauce! My mom had some issues with her prime rib, but that was partially on her and even still the restaurant really made sure that she got something that she liked. Noah was our server and he was fantastic! The overall vibe in the hair is really swanky and cool. It's definitely on the pricey side but if you're celebrating or have a special occasion, I think it's worth it.

    Ribeye and béarnaise sauce. Amazing.

    What does happy hour intel?

I don't believe that Cleaverman proper has a happy hour. But Filthy Martini, the speakeasy inside Cleaverman, has a great happy hour. There are three cocktails that are $10 each, and then there are great deals on oysters and several $10 appetizers,…

Do they have a happy hour or serve food in the bar?

Full menu available at the bar. Happy hour is 5-7 Sun-Thu and 5-6 Fri-Sat. They also do 2 hours of validated parking at the Az Center parking garage on 5th and Fillmore. It's about a 5 min walk from the garage to the restaurant.

From the great wood grain basement dark ambience to to the raw, regular bar, and multiple sit-down options, we have tried it all. The allure of trying to find a place down in a basement where you have to find the right elevator was pretty bad ass. The hosts along with the waitresses and bar tenders are always welcoming and knowledgeable about their food and drink. I also think it is cool that you can get lockers to store your expensive liquor for return trips. We often come here for drinks and oysters, because my wife loves oysters and they have a wide range of options that aren't exactly cheap, but don't break the bank for freshness and taste. I only really mark down the rating because the menu has been stale over the years and they used to offer elk that is no longer available. Now call that pretentions or snooty, but I think they could use some unique options to keep the experience moving each time you come in. Also, I feel a restaurant of this caliber should be evolving to match their cool vibe and unique experience. I usually get the Wren house beer but feel the beer optiosn are limiting I also feel like some of their cocktails are overpriced, but they are unique compared to other places, so maybe I am just cheap. So really this rating should be more a 4.5. What really brings you back is the cool art on the wall with a Theodore Roosevelt slant and cool sitting areas like a sofa setting in what looks like it would be his old school library. Don't get me wrong everything I have eaten here has been good, but nothing hearkens back like that elk. This place makes for an amazing tinder date if you are willing to drop that cash and make that impression, come here then hop on over to Valley bar and she will think you are magician of illusive locations if she hasn't already been there.

It also features a lot of great art that fits really highlights the Mexican bar vibe. The waitress/bar tender/ agave expert was very welcoming and know a lot about their tequilas and mescal option. I love me some smokey mescal, I dont remember thet name of the drink but it had some kind of elote triple sec or something like that along with Mescal and it was quite tasty. Trust me I was in no state to remember ingredients but this is from my foggy memory. I also got a pick of the cool ice blocks that has an Agave inlay that they put in the tumbler with your drink. I will definitely be going back for their wide Mescal and tequila options. I didn't see food in the bar, but they have a food truck out front that smelled amazing, but sometimes I simply dont want to eat when there are plenty of drinks to be had. Located in Downtown Phoenix, the parking situation is a little hairy. There is paid parking nearby,…read morebut it definitely is better to come a little earlier to scope out the parking situation and get that sorted before your reservation. My party and I had a reservation on a Saturday night at 9pm (when it's 13 people, what can you do). What kind of sucked though (and mainly why I'm deducting a star) is that we did wait an additional half hour to be seated after our reservation time. Our theory is that they didn't think the entire party would actually arrive, and they were not ready to accommodate us. To be fair, the restaurant IS on the smaller side, but there was 0 communication during that half hour on what was going on... which isn't really good for us either. We got the original set, and this somewhat confused me as well. The food was really good, and was definitely a restaurant that I'd go to for the experience, but for some reason some of the meats were doubled while others weren't. The double portions were really nice since our party was so large, we needed to split the food between 4 different grills (so each table got 2 grills each, feeding 6-7 people in total or 3-4 people per grill), but then we had to share the portions where we only got one serving. It wasn't bad, but to me, didn't make sense. The food was really good though; I didn't care too much about the soup, but the green sauce was SO good. Mixing a little with the soup was incredible. I thought the beef and pork were really good. I personally left the restaurant full, but many others in my party did not. I think it's a really good amount of food for 2 people, but when you push to 3+, you probably do not want to come hungry. Also--the live music at Pemberton next door is SO LOUD, you're going to be shouting at your table the entire night when you sit outside. I think I would come back if I wanted to show this place to someone who didn't live here, but it isn't on the top of my list for when I'm trying to eat out, but I will definitely consider this for special date night occasions. It is extremely expensive for what it is though. For $70+ you risk the chance of leaving not full which SUCKS.
