Greenwood Brewing deserves more hype! Myself, my husband, and my parents were meeting friends in Downtown Phoenix. We passed AZ Wilderness and saw how busy they were so we stopped at Greenwood as they were less busy and we had never tried their beer before. My parents prefer IPA's and are tough critics, however, they liked the IPA's so much they bought a pack to take home. I'm not a huge beer drinker so I ordered the seltzer on tap and it was good + refreshing. My husband also ordered the Mango Lassi and loved it. We spoke to the staff member on site who I believe said they've been around for 6 years or so. Greenwood definitely deserves more hype as not only were their beers good but they have cute seating arrangements with an open courtyard. Definitely give Greenwood a try if you find yourself going to Downtown Phoenix! read more

I recently visited Greenwood Brewing and had a great experience learning more about the brewery and its history. One of the highlights was chatting with Dan, who has been bartending for eight years. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer questions about the brewing process and the brewery itself. It's clear he enjoys what he does and takes pride in sharing information with customers. I also learned that the brewery was founded by Megan Greenwood, and it's impressive to see how her vision has grown into a well-known local brewery. The brewing operation includes seven tanks, giving visitors a glimpse into the production side of the business. For anyone interested in seeing more behind the scenes, Greenwood Brewing does offer brewery tours. There isn't a set tour schedule, so it's best to ask staff about availability when you visit. One feature I thought was especially cool was the live Instagram follower counter displayed behind the bar. Watching the number update in real time was a fun and unique touch that added to the brewery's modern, community-focused atmosphere. The atmosphere was welcoming, the staff was engaging, and it was fun getting a closer look at the brewing process while enjoying quality craft beer. I love stopping by this little brewery when I'm out downtown. Even though they don't have good, it's a pleasant place to sit and drink a beer if you're not in a hurry. The beers are great, and they have a good variety. It's nice to sit on the patio and people watch since it's right on Roosevelt. The staff keeps it tidy and clutter free, even in the busy times, which I appreciate. I would definitely recommend swinging by for a mango lassi cream ale or orange sour. read more

Stopped in again last night as I remembered the great beers from my last visit. I had my dog with me as we had walked over seven miles in the Roosevelt Row neighborhood. My server was friendly so I stayed for two beers: the Harvest Diem (delicious with its honey and cinnamon and crowned with sugar) and an Oatmeal Stout. First trip to Greenwood Brewing and we loved it! Great beer, great music, tons of outdoor seating and super nice staff, and it's dog-friendly! One of our new favorite, female-owned breweries! We had a flight with Her Story Pale and IPA, and the Mango Lassi and Luna Amber. All of the beers were delicious! Our favorites were the Her Story Pale and the Amber, but they were all amazingly drinkable! The Mango was creamy and fruity and great for summer! Their rosemary IPA is one of my favorite beers of all time. The rosemary isn't overpowering but it's not subtle either. You can definitely tell that it's there it's the perfect balance. Prices are a little steep but they do have some good quality beers. read more

The watermelon gose was a bit salty and sour, the rosemary IPA was a super herbal and floral IPA, and the Harvest Diem Spiced Ale was nicely spiced (not overpowering) and the cinnamon rim was an awesome touch. I visited Greenwood Brewing for the first time a couple of years ago to do some day-drinking with friends. I don't know what it is about the place that feels so cozy. The taproom is not very big. You can sit at the bar counter or by the windows. There is also a patio and a courtyard with tables and chairs. On a different occasion, my friend and I came for trivia night. It's held in the courtyard, and it felt so nice sitting outside in the evening with a cold beer and testing our knowledge. They still do trivia on Tuesday nights (check their website for events). Recently, I stopped here for their Oktoberfest & 5-Year Anniversary Block Party. It was so packed inside the taproom and outside by the vendor booths. I loved seeing so many people having a good time and supporting a local brewery! Each time that I've been there, I've seen the founder, Megan Greenwood, chatting with patrons and leading brewery tours. Love this place and the community she has built with it. read more

This is a cute brewery in downtown Phoenix with some good beers. The inside is pretty small with one row of seating along the bar but there is a lot of patio seating. The service is quick and friendly. They have some fun events like yoga in the yard and they have very nice art on display from a local artist. There is only paid street parking. read more

Brewery on Roosevelt Row. Walked by a few times, but hadn't stopped yet. Decided to come over and check it out after Vegan Social. The Entrance is inviting, interior is clean lines and wood accents with mid century chairs at the bar. We ordered the Harvest Diem Spiced Ale and the Warrior Hazy IPA (all made in house); these were under Flagship beers. The ale is light but spiced just enough, with the rim accenting the flavor, and the IPA is crisp, refreshing, and juicy. If you're feeling adventurous, they have Experimental Beers to give a try (ie. Mango Lassi Cream Ale). There's plenty of outdoor seating on both sides, it's dog friendly, and my toddler was able to sit with us as well in a laid back environment. What a lovely little spot this is. We stopped in to try a few beers and stayed a while just chatting and socializing with other patrons. The inside of the business is relatively small but we came midday on a Saturday so it wasn't extremely busy. The decor is very cute and sleek/modern and I'm just dying to come back and sit on the patio area once the weather cools down. There is tons of seating outside, it's just too hot in the summer. What a great brewery! If you like unique IPAs and a great space with lots of outdoor seating, Greenwood Brewing is definitely for you. I had their flagship beer, the Herstory. It's listed as an APA, but this beer had a little of everything - smooth taste for easy drinking, but also a little east coast juiciness that kept it interesting. Truly an excellent beer. They have an extensive tap list, from nitro stouts to pilsners. And they aren't afraid to try some unique flavors - the rosemary IPA was very good! I would've liked to explore their menu some more but my time was very limited and I had some more brewery hopping to do.
