This is a really convenient location before going to the nearby concert venue and theatre! Our service was fine food was fine music was a little too loud to have a conversation with others. Nothing special but nothing bad! I would come back for a drink if I was going to a show nearby but wouldn't go out of my way to go!

Found this place via Groupon. Tasting included for 14 dollars for 10 5os pours! Overall beers were quite good. Vibes were good. Have pretty decent food menu, although we did not order.

Service food and ambience was spectacular. Although it was quite empty, we had such an enjoyable afternoon. Savannah was fantastic.! Attentive, engaging and delightful to chat with. Great hazy and the tasting flight was good. The strawberry heff my favorite.

Came here with my sister before a show at the Van Buren across the street. We both loved everything! We're huge fans of sitting at the bar and socializing, their bar atmosphere is made for exactly that! The best thing we had was the brussel sprout appetizer... they were insane! Definitely a must try for any veggie lovers!

Come here if you're going to a show nearby. The restaurant is a stone's throw from: AZ Financial Theater, Crescent Ballroom, Ziggy Stardust, Van Buren, and Orpheum. If you have a show to go to, come here before or after and you won't be disappointed. It's a smart choice from all the nearby options because the food menu is quite extensive and surprisingly good. I enjoyed the spicy chicken sandwich (not that spicy) and everyone else at my table really enjoyed their meals as well. You'll be hard pressed to find parking for this restaurant but when you do you'll be happy it's so well located to other spots. In terms of ambiance, it looks like any other pub or sports bar on the inside, nothing surprising about the interior including the service but it'll be a good time none the less.

This is a good location downtown. My friend and I have been wanting to try it. The scene is welcoming and the vibe is quite chill. If you're a big beer fan and want to support local brews, this is your spot. I'm not the biggest beer fan, so my review will be more on the food in general. I did get a passion fruit lemon drop cocktail that was pretty good though. We had a comedy show later so decided to stick with appetizers so we could avoid leftovers we couldn't take home with us. My friend got the fried pickles and seemed to enjoy them. I got the soft pretzels with beer cheese which was tasty. We shared their Kentucky fried chicken and it was fine. Lacked some seasoning to be honest. Overall the food was decent, but again the vibe was the best part. The staff were really friendly. It's cool inside with some local art and the alcohol is displayed pretty beautifully. It's also a good spot to watch some games on the tvs, but not so distracting for those who aren't there to watch.

I have nothing but great things to say about this place. We travelled from San Diego to watch the Padres/Diamondbacks game and this was our pregame choice to have a beer. First off, we tried their Sound of Freedom IPA the night before when we stumbled upon it at the grocery store near our hotel. It was really good so that's why we decided to check out their brewery. The convenience with parking and location was perfect and we really liked the ambiance inside. They had a good choice of beers and I can't say enough about our bartender, Amanda. She was so sweet, patient, and kind! I would have loved the beers anyway, but she took it to another level. Talk about someone who makes you feel welcome. She was so awesome that she literally gave me the shirt off her back! Seriously...she did. I really wanted a specific shirt of theirs but they only had XL and 3XL left. I was bummed but we carried on drinking and later on she brought the XL for me to at least look at. I tried it on and it was a bit oversized so I was bummed. Amanda knew how much I wanted it so she literally offered to go change out of the size medium one that she was wearing so that I could have it. Wow! It was so unexpected and beyond amazing. I highly recommend this place and we will surely be visiting it next time we are in Phoenix.

Tried out State 48 last night for the first time. It was a Friday night and around 4:30-5:00. The place had people in it but not too many. We easily got seated and promptly given water and menus. Our server was Terry. He is what I prefer in a server. Not hovering but attentive to his tables. I have lately been in a lager/beer/ale mood. So state 48 has a lot to choose from. The menu is very descriptive and includes the IBU ratings for their selections which is really helpful in choosing your drink based on your taste. For food there is a decent selection. I ordered the pb & j burger. Now normally I like this burger no matter what. This particular one had to be one of the best I've had. There was enough peanut butter for you to know it was there but not dripping off the burger once it was heated up from the burger. The peach jalepeno jam was a perfect compliment. Looking around the restaurant was very active. There are psychedelic murals on the walls that seem to make the place. Interesting to look at and fun at the same time.

If it's your first visit, the AZ Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich is an absolute must. It's perfectly crispy with just the right amount of heat and packed with flavor in every bite. Made the long drive from Gilbert to see what the hype was about and let me say....that soft serve was WORTH IT! I got the swirl and it was soooooo refreshing and delicious. I have seen people comment that they were too strong (I don't see the problem or maybe some people don't really like tequila) but mine was perfect! Not strong at all. The only reason I didn't give this updated review a 5-I ordered the banh mi sando and the sandwich was so dry. Chicken was dry. The cilantro wasn't chopped I had to pick out long stems. Also I got the AZ frosè and the rosemary syrup was just way too pungent to enjoy the whole beverage. I wished it had been more balanced. Especially when the French fries are heavily seasoned with rosemary--a bit too much.

For me, it was a big hike up to the north side- but totally worth the haul! I grew up in the Midwest, occasionally going to one or two German restaurant/ clubs, so this was not an unfamiliar atmosphere to me. It is definitely a "seasoned" vibe, having immediately taken over the space by a former western bar/beer hall that had been in existence for 50+ years. Their menu says "German and Hungarian" but all I read was German. They have a solid European beer selection, including taps and bottles and some cocktails with a German twist. The one that threw me for a loop (in the best way) was Kriek! So ofc I got a pint. We shared a (fairly large) pretzel to start, which comes with beer cheese. Tasty, but I was genuinely shocked there was no mustard. I ordered the jagerschnitzel (pork) and just overall the meal was as expected as if I was in the Midwest - amazing, delicious, insert chef's kiss. I wish I could have joined the clean plate club. The cucumber salad was flavorful and not too sour/pickley. My friend and I both noted how umami the savory sauce was- not too bacon, not too mushroom. The potatoes were not too salty or under-seasoned. Literally willing to drive up again if/when someone tells me to go. It wasn't horribly busy so it didn't take forever to order and get everything we needed. Our server was super nice and patient. She even gave a bar suggestion that ended up being a nice cherry for the top of the evening.

We passed AZ Wilderness and saw how busy they were so we stopped at Greenwood as they were less busy and we had never tried their beer before. One of the highlights was chatting with Dan, who has been bartending for eight years. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer questions about the brewing process and the brewery itself. It's clear he enjoys what he does and takes pride in sharing information with customers. I also learned that the brewery was founded by Megan Greenwood, and it's impressive to see how her vision has grown into a well-known local brewery. The brewing operation includes seven tanks, giving visitors a glimpse into the production side of the business. For anyone interested in seeing more behind the scenes, Greenwood Brewing does offer brewery tours. There isn't a set tour schedule, so it's best to ask staff about availability when you visit. One feature I thought was especially cool was the live Instagram follower counter displayed behind the bar. Watching the number update in real time was a fun and unique touch that added to the brewery's modern, community-focused atmosphere. The atmosphere was welcoming, the staff was engaging, and it was fun getting a closer look at the brewing process while enjoying quality craft beer. A great stop for both locals and visitors looking to support a Phoenix- Women owned brewery. The vibes are chill & semi-loud with music playing in the background.
