After the Lather experience I had to stop by one of the cute places in this shopping center anf Horse & Hyde one. The bartenders were so helpful explaining the top drink choices I had to go with the Lavender drink which was made with Empress Gin, Lavender and prosecco. Ugh..... where do I start..... Ok so we came for a drink or two and some apps. I ordered the spicy link platter.. it literally was bar-s hot dogs from Fry's!! Yuck. My girl got the twice baked potato, it was horrible, literally thrown in the microwave for like what 2.4 seconds. We had to send it back! When we asked for the bill, it was 25 mins later... there were maybe 25 people in there, they had live music which was a plus. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is really chill.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But only 3 staff, so it wasn't that busy! Our waitress was "new" 3rd day on the job and had little stars on the bottom of her lip, apparently they're pimple patches!! Why??? I get the place is chill, but come on!! Great, great, great local watering hole. If people are complaining abiut chips then I would take that with a grain of salt. ALL MEATS ARE SMOKED IN HOUSE!. Hot link po boy was awesome!!!! Green chili quesadilla great. Can't wait to come back to check out brisket Mac. The drinks are great, no mixers. And in top of it staff is so so great! I've got a very split opinion on this place. The cocktails are pretty good but the pricing is at the very high end of acceptable; the smoked brisket mac was really good, but again, the price was a little steep. The bartenders were very nice and happy to make recommendations (that's how I decided on the brisket mac). Good cocktails but don't come here hungry. The food was very disappointing, no brisket or pulled pork on a Saturday night.... My chicken tacos were cold and the tortillas were out of a bag from Fry's not even warmed up with no flavor. Nachos also very sad. Service took forever. Drinks are good sometimes. Depends on who is making them. But the food is absolutely foul every time. Got the brisket quesadilla, absolutely no flavor. So bland and tasteless. Got the twice baked potato and it was hard as a rock! So disgusting and pretty tasteless as well, no flavor at all. And got food poisoning from what I did eat of the potato. The smoked meats they do in-house are excellent. The servers are very friendly and attentive. They have some excellent and unique cocktails using top shelf liquor. There were only 2 other tables occupied but the service was so so so slow. Everyone was super friendly but not attentive. They had to take our water glasses somewhere else to be filled and that process was oddly slow. The sliders were good if a bit over-sauced. And they came with chips that were lower quality than Tostitos. Brisket Mac cheese was also over sauced with the bbq and not much meat. The salad had so much iceberg. But the flavor was good. Terrible iced tea. Maybe this place is really just a bar? Also the website has incorrect hours and states that it's in Arcadia - which is super weird since North Central is pretty proud of itself as a place that is not Arcadia. read more

Food : Wild West Nachos with brisket was so overloaded with house queso and hardly any brisket at all (even though we paid $4 for it to be added). Turns out it was because they ran out out of brisket (it was 4:30pm on Saturday). We settled for dessert (gf has a sweet tooth), which was pretty disappointing; cheap ice cream with unflavored pie. We were excited to t try this place, but ended up leaving to go somewhere else to eat. This place would be 1 star except the server was great. read more

What a great second location!! The patio is amazing to have a great cocktail paired with some great food and live music!! They smoke their own meats and the flavor is delicious!! Decided to swing by for a night cap around 10:30p on a Saturday night and we were the only two people there. Drink recipes sounded good on paper and with the price of the specialty cocktails, I was expecting more. Not bad, but quality of the cocktails didn't compare to other cocktail bars in the area at the same price point. Maybe we picked the wrong time to go and wrong drinks to try. Staff was friendly, but more social amongst themselves then with us, recapping their night and discussing the low-tipping patrons that had been in that night. I can't say no to an old fashioned so we will probably try again some time when more is going on. read more

Good cocktails but the place lacks a cocktail vibe. I'm not usually a review writer, but someone in ownership or management should be aware of what a sh**show this place is. Worst experience I've ever had at a bar. Bartender didn't get me a water or take a drink order for 15 minutes even though I sat right in front of them. There were 3 people back there making drinks and only 2 other people sitting at the bar. I got their attention to order the $19 chips & salsa with "skillet queso," which ended up being nacho cheese in plastic cups. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I would have let all this go and just never gone back, but then the cherry on top was that a drunk guy fell on me, spilled his beer on me, and knocked me out of my chair.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not only did they not kick him out, they gave him my bar stool to sit down in while I stood covered in beer! No one, not even the manager, said a word to me about it, even when I said something out loud. But they were sure quick to charge my card, even for the to-go food that I left without getting. I live in California now, but I would recommend Caldwell County to anyone in Arizona, especially people in the East Valley who somehow have not tried it yet. This is genuinely some of the best barbecue I have had. The meats are flavorful, the portions are satisfying, and the jalapeño cheddar sausage has just the right amount of heat without overpowering everything else. It is the kind of food that sticks in your memory long after you leave. Honestly, if I lived close to the Power Road location, I would have a very difficult time staying away. We skedaddled to the right of the main doors for the drink order, only to discover there's another door that people walk through to place orders. The patio was pretty large & well shaded, but it was also full -- and this particular day also the ONLY SHADE. We were left to sit at one of their many tables on the grounds with no shade. Dessert: red velvet whoopie pie was so overpriced it's not funny. If it tasted great, I wouldn't complain...it did not taste great. The pecan pie was abysmal; not enough filling and very bland. Two "specialty" drinks, a salad, a sandwich, & two small desserts, for $77? No, sorry, not again.

From start to finish, the service was top-notch, with Ian (and the other two fabulous bartenders) taking exceptional care of us. They were attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home.
