'm a St Louis native living in Tucson. When I heard that there is a restaurant in Phoenix that serves St Louis style food I knew I had to try it. We were recently in Phoenix and I knew we decided to stop by. I was just hoping and praying that Frasher's would not disappoint this homesick girl. We were greeted warmly as soon as we came in. Andrea was our server and she was attentive, kind and answered all of our questions about the menu. Moreover, she's a St Louis native so she knew her stuff. I ordered toasted ravioli (beef), a St Louis salad, and a cheese pizza with Provel. The t-ravs were spot on and the sauce was delicious. The salad was good and the pizza was pretty darn close to Imo's style. My heart was happy. My husband ordered the brisket and burnt ends and really enjoyed them. I will definitely be returning to Frasher's when I am in Phoenix but, to be honest, this restaurant deserves a little day trip from Tucson every now and then for a taste of home. We had a friend visiting from California who is originally from St. Louis so we had to take him to Frasher's! It's the only place out here where you can get St Louis style thin crust "Imo's" pizza with the provel cheese. Provel is a combination of cheddar, swiss, and provolone. You can't get it anywhere in AZ but Frasher's! Trust me I've tried. We ordered a sausage and a veggie pizza. We ordered the St. Louis Salad with Romaine lettuce, Artichoke hearts, red onion, Provel cheese, and Parmesan Vinaigrette, Yum! We also ordered St Louis Toasted Raviolis, one meat order and one cheese. Everything was delicious and the marinara sauce that comes with the Raviolis is amazing. Fraser's is an interesting place...it has a bar, it's a BBQ place and a pizza place all rolled into one. Been here a few times, as this place is inspired by St Louis. They feature a St Louis Style pizza, which is a thin crust pizza that's cut up in squares. Decor is that of a BBQ place, nothing too fancy. However, there's a bunch of St Louis items on the wall. Their Brisket is good, haven't tried the rest of their meats. The St Louis style pizza is good, if you're into that style of pizza. Had the Turkey gumbo a few times, it was decent. Service is fine, no complaints here. My only major complaint here is a lack of a lunch menu. The BBQ menu doesn't have much under $20. You can get a 10 inch pizza for under $20 or a Turkey Gumbo for $12, that's it. Most ppl aren't going to spend $25 for a lunch. they can unlock a lot of business with some lunch specials. read more

I've lived around the corner from this place for five years and have driven by a million times. Was craving BBQ and decided to give it a try, and I'm so glad we did. As soon as we sat down, the owner George Frasher came over and introduced himself. He said he owns three restaurants across the valley and gave us some great recommendations on the menu. The service was incredibly friendly and quick. The ribs melted off the bone and the sides were all delicious. The patio was lovely and there was live music. The prices were also great for the portion size. Love supporting a local business. Highly reccomend a visit if you haven't been before! read more

I am not sure why I added this to my bookamarks, but we were coming back from Sky Harbor on the way home and I suggested this place. Food: Barely edible. The pulled pork was fatty and greasy. The burnt ends ordered vs what we received was a mess. They may have run out putting them on pizzas, because my order looked like cut up brisket. Some pieces were just a fatty mess. Best part of the meal, which for the 3 of us was over $100 was the toasted bread and side of corn. Service: Understaffed and one couple sat for 10 min and just left. We should have done the same... We had high hopes. I'd seen Frasher's on the Food Network a while back and we finally had a chance to try it. I will admit I went primarily for the Burnt Ends Pizza. It's a St. Louis style pizza with the cracker crust and provel cheese. It was decent, but didn't wow me. My husband chose the 2-meat plate which is his go-to at most BBQ places. He had brisket and tri-tip. For sides, he had the garlic mashed and mac & cheese. He said the meats were ok, and the mashed potatoes were probably his favorite thing. I did try the mac & cheese and found it to be rather soupy had very little cheese flavor. That was a disappointment! It also came with toast which I found odd. I would have expected a roll or even cornbread. We also decided to split the Gooey Butter Cake and I'm so glad we didn't get a separate piece each as it was far too sweet to eat the entire slice. Service was good, and the musician playing outside was nice, but the food just wasn't our favorite and with better BBQ closer to our house, we don't anticipate that we'll be back. read more

I came out for a golf trip with some buddies. One of the guys picked Frasher's before our visit to pop stroke. We came in on a Saturday at 1pm. We were a party of 12 which didn't seem to be a problem since we were seated immediately. We are all from California so we were all in the dark about this place. Staff was extremely diligent on tending to our every need. I had the gumbo. Not only was it the most inexpensive thing on the menu but it was the most delicious. Spicy but not too spicy filled with their recommended turkey. Everyone else had the two meat combo sandwich plate. There were no complaints. All the boys said everything was delicious. From the Mac and cheese, corn bread, brisket, burnt ends, and tri tip. No pizza or chicken was tried during our visit but the pizza looked good, they had a fresh one on the bar as we walked in. What I really liked about our visit was when we were finished eating, our server would come up to the table and say "may I take your plate." Which to me showed great manners, growing up in California we rarely come across a kind soul. So thank you for the experience. We'll drop by again next golf trip. read more

I stopped by Frasher's Smokehouse for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Located in Arcadia, I had an hour to spare before a reservation at a speakeasy close by. I love BBQ so this was a no-brainer for me. Especially because I had never had St. Louis style BBQ prior. I parked in their complimentary lot in front of the restaurant. Ambiance (4.5/5): Pretty much what you would expect from a barbecue joint. Wood everywhere, country decor, and a laid back environment. If you're dining in, you can sit wherever you'd like. I posted up at a booth. Service (4.5/5): Friendly service. Attentive too as out waiters stopped by periodically to make sure we had everything we needed. Drinks (N/A); I just had a sweet tea on this visit so nothing to write home about here. Though they do have a happy hour (including weekends) with drink and food specials. Food (3/5): I will preface this portion of my review by saying that I'm from Texas, so my BBQ standards are quite high. With that being said, I was pumped to try some St. Louis-style BBQ. The first thing that stands out is that they have pizza. This isn't something I've ever seen at a BBQ joint. They even appeared on the Food Network. St. Louis-style pizza is tavern style, meaning thin crust. It also uses a local cheese, Provel cheese, rather than your typical marinara. I went with the 10-inch BBQ burnt ends pizza which comes with spicy BBQ sauce as the base, and is then topped with burnt ends, mushrooms, peppers, and onions. This was my favorite part of the meal! The crisp pizza complemented the BBQ well, and this is coming from a guy who isn't the biggest fan of thin-crust pizza. I also had the two-meet combination plate with ribs, tri-tip, garlic mashed potatoes, and corn. If you've never had tri-tip, it's sliced sirloin (beef). Both the tri-tip and ribs weren't there for me. They weren't bad by any means. But when I think of top-notch BBQ, I think of meat that falls off the bones. Where every bite is so succulent that you feel like you're in heaven. Not the case here. The same can be said of the sides. Mediocre. They also give you some toasted bread with your plate, and you have three BBQ sauces to choose from at your table (original, sweet, and spicy). I was expecting a little more. We ordered our Thanksgiving turkey and ham to go. First off, the service was awesome. I wish I remembered the guy at the front (dirty blonde, caucasian) because he was awesome. He was friendly and helpful. He also grabbed another guy to help carry out the 2 turkeys and ham. Big plus is that they were the only place we could find the option to have the turkeys and ham ready to serve, i.e. no re-heating required! The turkey was smoked and delicious. I hate that I'm writing this review. I know I don't have to, but after what we ate and after seeing all the positive reviews and pictures I just kind of want to vent. I'm from STL. Born and raised. Aside from the crime, I love everything about STL and make no apologies for it. The last time I went to Frasher's Smokehouse was when they were still on Scottsdale Rd. I went multiple times and loved it. I even watched the 2011 World Series there, so the place holds a special spot in my heart. Unfortunately, I moved further away from the area and hadn't been back since. My fiancée and I were in the area, and I'd been raving about Frasher's to her for a long time, so we stopped in on Friday night around 8:30 p.m. It wasn't busy at all (maybe 3 or 4 parties total) and we were told to sit wherever we liked. A server came by almost immediately with water and menus. We stuck with the waters and ordered a 10" pepperoni pizza and a two-meat platter (tri-tip and pulled pork) with garlic mashed potatoes and green chili mac to share, plus a gooey butter cake to go. The food came out within a reasonable amount of time, but right away I noticed the pizza looked plain. I didn't want to complain, though, given my positive memories of Frasher's. Sadly, the pizza was not good. The crust tasted like it had been undercooked from frozen. The sauce was nearly nonexistent and flavorless, and the cheese was sheet white. (I wish I had taken a picture to show the difference but look at other reviews.) With Imo's-style pizza, the cheese is nicely browned on top and slightly crispy around the edges. I've eaten a LOT of Imo's-style pizza in my life, and this was not a good representation. Onto the platter... The pulled pork and garlic mash were pretty good. Nice smoke on the pork, moist, and the sauces were solid. (Mixing the sweet and spicy together is the move, by the way.) The garlic mashed potatoes were smooth and garlicky. Honestly, I wanted to stab my fiancée's hand with my fork just to keep them all to myself, but I figured she's better company than the dudes I'd end up with in jail. The tri-tip and mac, though? Not good. The tri-tip was overcooked and dry. Hard to even comment on the flavor because of that. The mac was cold, way too loose and wet, with barely any green chili flavor. It felt like they took cold elbow macaroni and poured leftover cheese sauce on top. All of this--with waters and a slice of gooey butter cake--came out to a whopping $62.00. A two-meat (and not a generous two-meat) platter with two sides, a 10" one-topping half-assed pizza, and a sliver of gooey butter cake... for SIXTY-TWO dollars. I get the cost of food and eating out going up but this is WAY too much for what we got and I have 0 issues with paying for good food. All that said... I dig and appreciate what my STL brother is doing here and based on all the other reviews and my past experience I still recommend giving Frasher's Smokehouse a go. read more

As a Texan, it will satisfy the craving for BBQ in a pinch. The service was great. Our waitress was on top of it and friendly. We were excited to find a place closer to home. Portion size was about an actual portion size. It was overpriced for the amount you get. It's hard to get sweet tea that's not flavored but they had it. They use a special blend of cheeses that are creamy and unlike any other pizza that I've had. We went last Sunday. We walked in and were able to seat ourselves. The place was clean and they did have live music there. A gentleman came over and asked if we wanted to start with ice water or drinks. My wife said she would start with ice water while I got a coke. Was never asked if wanted anything else to drink. Server came and took our order. My wife got the burnt ends pizza which was really good. I got the 2 meat platter with brisket and tri trips, with garlic mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese.
