I love this little local wine and beer pub. They have a cool horseshoe bar with tons of games on the bar. Tiffany is super sweet and has an amazing voice. The first time I came was on a Tuesday and they had karaoke. This most recent time was on a Thursday but I really wanted to sing. When my friend and I got there it was not crowded so Tiffany offered to put the karaoke on!!! I was so happy! No KJ needed lol. Many regs were there and were super nice. We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. They have Happy Hour everyday from open-7pm. I had a hard time deciding; beer or wine. They had a Tempranillo which I really enjoy. However, I chose beer during this visit. The bartender was sweet and we trusted her suggestions. She made each selection for us and we enjoyed each of our drinks. We spent a few hours. It's a pretty small space, a few couples filled it rather quickly. It never felt too crowded while we were there. Why do I like the whining pig? It is a very quaint and casual establishment. Walking in it feels like Cheers from television and also like your home. Everybody seems accepted right away and you build bonds. Both the wine and beer lists are well conceived with a wide array of offerings to please almost any palate. They have quite a selection of games that you can sit and play and challenge your mind, as you get intoxicated and think about calling your Uber. My wife and I just enjoy those neighborhood down home feeling establishments and this is definitely one of those. We really enjoyed our time here as it was our 1st visit and we will be back again. Heard so many great things about this spot, so without further ado we made a visit before dinner! This is the original establishment located on the northeast corner of Bethany Home and 16th street. Very small and quaint spot that has its menu of beers and wines on a chalkboard that covers the one side of the wall!All sorts of card and board games lined up on the bar to make the time pass as you drink your alcoholic beverage of choice! We both had a glass of red wines, and since we went during happy hour I had a $5 tall glass of wine that was delicious and did not taste cheap at all. Bravo to the staff for making us feel comfortable and talk loud as if in a regular dive bar while drinking some vino. Took home a brownie slice that was tasty! If this place was in the Bay Area, you bet I'd be going regularly. A tiny little place with mostly seats around the bar in a U shape and 1 bartender/host, it is definitely a cozy place. They have everything good in my book: decent wine selection, great beer selection, lots of board games, reasonable pricing, fun chalk art on the wall and cute trinkets all over the place. Our bartender was really cool and gave excellent suggestions for IPAs because that's what my BF loves to drink. I've been getting into beer a little more recently and loved each of the beer he suggested. Hop Juice was one of the best ones and he also poured me a strawberry cider that was super delicious without being too sweet. You can tell regulars frequent this place as the bartender/host/partial owner chats up with each of his patrons in a relaxed, friendly way. We played Connect Four like champs and had way too much fun. We were going to bar hop that night but this place was so great that we ended up staying until past 2am. He'll select a canned craft beer, place it in a white paper bag and plop it down in front of you. Taking chances can be fun, and it's a good time trying to guess what it is that you're drinking before you take a peek at the label. -- Games.
