Bone in Ribeye and the Prime Rib...both were exceptional. Duck fat fries with Yorkies and an Unami Bomb of mushrooms with caramelized onions. Deserts capped off a perfect meal. The BBC is a show stopper along with the chocolate cake. Eric was our server and set a very high bar with his 10 out of 10 service. Pleasantly surprised by this new gem! Lately I've noticed with the newest, hottest restaurants in metro Phoenix, while the ambiance is epic, the food hasn't lived up to the hype....but I'm happy to report that Cleaverman's food and ambiance were both a hit. Yay! For my husband's birthday I reserved a table for our party of four and we were sat in their gorgeous dining room. The ambiance and decor here really are stunning. Cleaverman Steakhouse in Phoenix is a wonderful throwback to mid-century dining, capturing the best of 1950s décor with its warm lighting, retro leather booths, and vintage touches that give the whole space an authentic old-school charm. The moment you walk in, you feel transported back in time to a beautiful old school world. The staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic which is awesome to see for a classic American steakhouse. My friend booked us for dinner at 4pm on opening weekend. We got there about 10 minutes before 4pm and were seated immediately. Upon entering you will feel transported to a different era. The design for this ambiance was incredible. No detail was missed in seating, walls, tiles, even the restrooms were very well kept. The food was absolutely incredible. It is pricier but I understand that the ambiance comes with eating here and the price. The bread and the escargot will not disappoint so definitely try that especially if you've never had escargot before The guys all got steak which they said was good but more on the well done side instead of medium rare like they asked. Seasoning is still good but the char was too much. Broccolini, Brussels sprouts and Mac and cheese was also delicious and worth a try. The side dish with corn was not good st all so don't get that unless you really love anything with corn hahaha I got the branzino and that did not disappoint. I know it's a steakhouse but if you offer fish, I will give it a shot to see if they really know what they're doing back there and this was a hit. My friends did say they wish they got something else instead of the steak due to the excessive char and not getting the cook done correctly. Drinks were strong but delicious! Not a lot of vodka choices but the way they mix their drinks, even if it's a scotch it won't taste that heavy which is good. We didn't get dessert but went for more drinks at the filthy martini bar. The season for the 4 stars is due to the water situation. It may seem like a small detail but it's not. Two people got sparkling and two got still. Every single pourer got it wrong. One of them even poured house water in the sparkling and the still. So that was definitely awkward. Ideally would give a 4.5. Service, ambiance, and food were all excellent. The only thing that didn't blow me away was that I felt the steaks should have been more heavily seasoned, and the filet we ordered had such an aggressive char that it was bitter. Both were cooked to temp perfectly otherwise. We got then10oz filet, and the bone-in ribeye. Loved the ribeye but again I wish it had more salt or that some nice finishing salt had been served with it. For appetizers, we got the potato rolls and the escargot. Both were delicious! Our first visit to Cleverman's. The restaurant is beautifully appointed, and the service was excellent. What I'm seeing more and more with restaurants like this is that chefs seem determined to put their signature twist on everything. Unfortunately, it often comes at the expense of simply preparing high-quality food well. One of our guests ordered the Crab Louis salad. At first, the dressing appeared to be a traditional Thousand Island, but it turned out to have a spicy, hot-sauce flavor that completely overwhelmed the dish. I don't understand why so many restaurants feel the need to reinvent classic sauces to the point where they lose what made the original so enjoyable. My wife's salmon was also disappointing. It resembled a flat-cut fillet you could buy at Costco rather than a premium restaurant entrée. I understand the costs involved in running a restaurant today, but when you're paying premium prices, you expect food that reflects that. The atmosphere and service were outstanding, but the kitchen might benefit from stepping back and focusing less on reinventing classics and more on letting quality ingredients speak for themselves. read more

We tried Cleaverman Steakhouse on their very first night open to the public, and overall we really enjoyed our experience. My drink, Mischief in a Glass, was absolutely delicious. The bread itself was phenomenal, although the raw onion and bacon mixed into the butter weren't really for me. The Caesar salad was really good, and the duck fries had a lot of potential. They came out hot, but the bottom was a little soggy. I wasn't a fan of the cheese sauce, but the duck confit with just the Parmesan would have been perfect. For entrées, I had the lamb chops and they were very good--although a red wine reduction or sauce option would've taken them to the next level. My fiancé ordered the porterhouse, and both the mac and cheese and the broccolini were good (the mac was just a bit too cheesy for our taste). Service-wise, our server was kind and attentive. She seemed a little nervous, which is completely understandable for opening night, but I would've loved to see her personality shine more. The staff as a whole felt a bit on edge, and as someone who dines at fine dining restaurants often, I've noticed that the most memorable experiences come from servers who feel relaxed and personable. Went here to celebrate my birthday, and it was such a beautiful experience! The restaurant is elegant, the atmosphere is amazing, and the music really adds to the vibe. The food was delicious! The steak was an 8/10 overall really good, but I felt it could have used a little more seasoning. The mac and cheese was easily a 10/10! The scallops were exquisite and came with an incredible sauce that really elevated the dish. The Caesar salad was fresh, crisp, and had just the right amount of dressing. The drinks were also really good not overly sweet, which I loved! They also have a speakeasy-style bar with live music, which we didn't get to experience this time, but we'll definitely be checking it out on our next visit! In case you hadn't been to Downtown Phoenix in a while, it's no longer an area to visit only during sports games and leave immediately afterward. It's got wonderful shops and fantastic restaurants, like Cleaverman. It's got a retro-lounge feel that mixes 70s playboy with modern flair. Thick chocolate brown velvet curtains line the entry way and part at the hostess stand to reveal a gorgeous bar, golden accents, and walls adorned with vintage artwork and rich textures. The wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They'll keep your drinks topped off and make sure you're comfortable and well fed throughout the night. I had the 6 oz filet with macaroni, whipped potatoes and broccolini. The potatoes had a little more garlic than I prefer, but otherwise the rest of the meal was perfection. The steak came out exactly as ordered, medium, and the crust was flavorful and not too thick. Macaroni and cheese could have been a meal all to itself and the broccolini was al dente and coated in breadcrumbs and Parmesan. Add this hidden gem to your list of places to try. We went to Cleaverman's a week ago and the atmosphere is incredible. The decor and ambiance are absolutely stunning, and our server Eric was fantastic. Truly a pro. However, I'm writing this as a former restaurant owner and operator from the Bay Area because the kitchen needs a wake-up call. To the owner: you need to change your steak distributor immediately. The Australian Wagyu was the worst I have ever had. Between Cleaverman's and Filthy we spent over $1600 for the night and while we don't look at pricing when we go out, we do expect a decent meal for that kind of money. The kitchen quality is just not there. I love to try and review dishes at places I dine at, and the rest of the table was equally disappointed. I tried the prime rib, and it was just okay--certainly not the best. The lamb had a nice presentation, but the flavor was mild and very mediocre, definitely not life-changing. Our friend's girlfriend didn't even touch her steak. She described it as dry. It's not chicken, yet it's dry? It was well overcooked and not tasty at all. It's disappointing because the front of house is doing everything right, but the product being served is a letdown. I'll be making a separate post about Filthy, but for Cleaverman's, the sourcing and QC need to be addressed if you want to match the premium experience you're charging for. So my best friend and I decided to head downtown to try out the Cleverman we had heard great things about it and so we were very excited to try it. But I did like about this place that the parking wasn't tragic. Yes you do have to be thankful but we were able to find on on street parking pretty easily and I'm a girlie who really complains about finding good parking especially downtown so that was a plus for me. It is absolutely stunning from the moment you approach the restaurant, you can see the detail and decor immediately. This place screams grown and sexy from the lighting to the seating to the decor to the trim to the fabrics that were used to even how the hostesses and staff are dressed. and the service was absolutely amazing. From the moment I was greeted seated and the engagement that was had throughout the entire meal. I really enjoyed the service at this establishment. So I did come here, knowing that I was gonna try a little bit of everything so I'll start with the cocktails. I had gotten their plate on an old-fashioned and when I say it was absolutely delicious, top-tier a lot of times when you go to restaurants, old-fashioned you just taste the strength of the alcohol but with this one you could taste the orange you could taste the smokiness. You can taste the full body flavor all the way throughout I thoroughly enjoyed it so much that I had to lol. As my appetizer I had chosen to get the oysters, Rockefeller, I felt like they were very good. I felt like the oysters were fresh and had great flavor and were delicately prepared where the oysters still were cold, but the Rockefeller portion of top was cooked to perfection. My friend had the Caesar salad salad. It was a good Caesar salad salad. You know that that's always a great go to.. for our entrées. She had chosen the New York strip steak and I had chosen to get the Atlantic salmon , we also did shared the sides of macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes. We ended up actually sharing everything so I will give you a review of the steak. I was not impressed, it wasn't bad she had gotten hers medium well so it still had some pink on the inside. I just feel like it was a tough cut and I did not enjoy the steak and neither is she. The salmon, I was unsure how that was gonna turn out because I'm typically hard on salmon when cooked their restaurants but this was perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed how it was prepared to cook of it and it was just delicious from first bite to last. I had also decided the very last minute to try their chocolate cake. I had decided to take that to go though because we were full, but I had saw someone have some chocolate cake and I was like I gotta try it. It is served with like a sherbet survey, which was a flavor that I didn't expect a pair so well, but it really did and when I say on the way home, we ended up devouring a cake. It was absolutely delicious. Great flavors moist all the way through icing was great.. As for the price, it is a pricier type of restaurant, but you know that going in so I feel like the value for the money was fair and equitable, especially for the service that you do get and the freshness and quality of the food. Walking in, the hostess staff is super friendly and the interior of the restaurant is beautiful. However, it feels like there is more focus on the aesthetics than possibly the food? Definitely not to say the food was bad. I would say some things were very good and other things were a miss in my opinion. Starting off the service was very slow to receive things; however, our server was attentive and very very sweet. Our first set of drinks took ~20-25 min for a group of 6. The matcha mocktail add vodka was very good and the espresso martini was standard. We ordered caviar service and adding the beef tartare was a nice touch to this. Typically the egg whites and yellows are separated and I don't think they were on this one. As well, they opted for a crunchy bread and cracker vs a blini. We ordered the potato rolls to start as well and this was a miss for me. I don't have anything particular to say, I just didn't enjoy the flavor personally. I would say at our table it was split. Three of us really liked them and 3 of us didn't, so just a matter or preference. For courses, we had 3 different types of steaks: ribeye, filet, and Australian Wagyu strip. The first two were good. We did send the strip back because it was sort of salt crusted. A couple of us tried bites of it, and it was totally inedible. They did send a second steak out in its place which was still salty but was very good. The peppercorn and bordelaise sauces were good as well. My friend liked the potatoes a lot (didn't try them), and I thought the brussel sprouts were on point. They were very good, although a tad oily. The cacio risotto was a miss for me. It was Al's very salt and also bland at the same time? If that makes sense. I felt like salt was the only flavor that stood out. For dessert, it also felt like it took a reallllllly long time, although I'm not sure how long it was but we did ask to pay while we were waiting. They did comp 2 desserts and five champagne for the long wait time (without us asking or pointing out how long it had been). I think overall, we all felt like for the price it was a mediocre experience versus what you would get at oceans44, mastros, or m&a for a similar price. This is a combo review as I went to Cleverman a couple weeks ago and then Uppercut last evening. The space, all throughout deserves 8 out of 5 stars. The detail, the ambience, the ability to make you feel special is beyond words. Sadly, the actual experience doesn't quite match that vibe. Perhaps for some who always overlook the reality vs perception and are all about an IG post will say differently. I don't mind paying $50 or $500 for a meal; but it should at least match the expectation. Service at Cleverman was great (I cannot remember her name but she was outstanding - we went on 3/27 for anniversary. Please clone her!). My filet was excellent, my partner's "infamous" Prime rib was infamous for the wrong reasons. The brine or salt seasoning permeated too deeply in the cut making the entire outer edges inedible (they did compensate). The sides were great. The drinks were even better. Other than the not feeling special for a special occasion (which I was able to explain to a manager and given a sincere apology), this experience was overall pretty good. 3.95 stars. Lol. As for Uppercut. This one's challenging. So many good things yet so many not so good things. Do you get your $'s worth?..... NO Full disclosure, 4 of our 6 arrived at 6:35, the other 2, 6:40. They do say prompt arrival is imperative. Perhaps our tardiness threw off the balance. Overall, the food was excellent (carefully prepared and served). The space is beautiful and intimate (although if you are in a group, it is challenging to chat with more than the person on either side). The things I thought to be challenging. Servers often took plates away before asking if I was finished. There were some dishes I was waiting for flavors to integrate before consuming and 4 of them left unfinished. I understand, it's a timed thing, but let me have 2 plates in front of me and let me choose when and how I want to finish. I had one drink (btw - forget the wine list. Sad as I'm a wine lover and know it goes so well with beef). The old fashioned was $30 and mediocre. The drinks in the main restaurant and Filthy are better and a 1/3 less. I don't mind paying more; but if I do, it better wow me. Our service, while adequate, wasn't overly gracious or appreciative. If I am spending $1300 for 4 people, I expect more. Perhaps this space isn't for me. It doesn't mean it's not for you. Don't believe the hype. But also don't believe that just the hype will make your overall experience magical. Would I recommend uppercut? No. Cleverman? Probably. Filthy? A DEFINITE yes. There are so many steak restaurants coming downtown. Feels super exclusive and the decor is like on the 20's. we got an edge salad which was probably the best tasting salad I've ever had, 12 oz filet the Brussel sprouts and mac and cheese! We had a mommy and daddy date night planned without our toddler for Origen nearby who took our reservation and apparently is still not open.... Since Cleaverman is just a 2-3 minute walk we went there instead. Cant say enough great things about our experience. Our server was Kyle B, he was wonderful, knowledgeable, personable and attentive. We had 2 cocktails (a smoked whiskey & the perfect alibi) and a glass of wine (cab), all wonderful. For our starters we had baked potato rolls, Wagyu, And escargot. I found the rolls to be nice but nothing special however he loved them. The Wagyu carpaccio blew our minds. So flavorful and loved the variety of textures with the ingredients, a total palette play. He had the escargot by himself but he loved it, I did taste the cheese sauce it's served with and was pleasantly surprised for someone who does not eat any seafood/unusual protein whatsoever. For entrees: we ordered branzino meunière, he loved it described it to be melt in your mouth and one of the best pieces of fish he's had. We also split the 32oz dry aged porterhouse. The seasoning wasn't mind blowing however the cut of meat was very yummy and it was cooked at a perfect medium rare. For sauces we chose foie gras bordelaise and roasted veal Demi glacé and also received the pepper chimichurri on the house. All 3 were wonderful and really complimented the steak. For "supporting cast" (sides): we had the Mac n cheese, brussel sprouts, potato purée and Yorkshire pudding. The Mac n cheese was topped with a flavorful breadcrumb and the noodles had a wonderful cheese sauce. Absolutely loved! I wasn't all that impressed by the brussel sprouts, found them to be a bit undercooked and very lemon forward with the pork belly to be underwhelming and dry. However, the potato puree and Yorkshire pudding was FABULOUS. Full of flavor and loved the consistency! For dessert: we had the buttercake with ice cream. (may be totally wrong on the name but as described by the waiter as buttercake meets pazookie with vanilla icecream and caramel). It also had butterscotchy/caramel popcorn topping which gave it a nostalgic crackerjack vibe. It was so yummy and we practically licked the plate clean. For a nearly $400 bill, the sides were overly salty and cooked in the same creamy sauce and the steak was bland and not prepared medium as requested. The cocktail was nothing special. The sauce used in the hot seafood tower was delicious, especially if you dip the sourdough bread in it. The seafood itself was overcooked and tough. The waitstaff tried to make it right, which we appreciated, and they swapped out one of our sides with a different side - but that side was cooked the exact same way as the other side so it tasted identical despite being a different vegetable. The manager also comped the steak, which we thought was a nice gesture. I can't say enough good things about this place! We had my 60th birthday party in their martini bar and it was fabulous! My husband rented out the entire place and I had a great Gatsby theme, which fit perfectly with the atmosphere. Afterwards, we came over to Cleverman and had dinner in the bar area! Our server's name was Sage and she was phenomenal! I had the lobster tail, escargot, and one of my girlfriends had the filet, and oysters Rockefeller. The food here is stellar! Chris was our server and he was awesome, very accommodating throughout the night. It was fascinating watching the staff work; everything was done with so much precision and coordination. I'm not sure how this place is sitting at a 3.9. It's at minimum a 4 star experience. The only reason I am not giving it a 5 is a few of the off menu standard drinks like a cosmo aren't great. But the menu cocktails are great. The scallops here are some of the best I've had. They melt when you eat them in their delicate sauce. The ribeye was awesome and pretty big as well. I didn't love the corn bread side dish, just stick with Mac and cheese here. The creamed spinach was very good. Service was excellent as was the design of this place. We had dinner here on July 27th for my son's birthday. He had requested a high end steakhouse and this came recommended by mrazsports. First, let me say this place is beautiful. It has an amazing vibe and is the type of place you will want to take a lot of photos of - food, decor, etc. The service was outstanding. Our server checked in on us repeatedly, and additional staff would stop by to see if we needed anything. The one negative sadly was the food, and of course this was the reason this place was recommended and why we were there versus so many other amazing restaurants in Phoenix. We shared several appetizers, the French onion meatballs, tuna carpaccio, and baked potato rolls. All were good, but not great. The display of the dishes was excellent, but the taste wasn't unfortunately. Next came our steaks. My wife and I both had the prime rib. The requested temps were on point but sadly the flavor wasn't. I wouldn't say it was bad, but when you are paying $70 for prime rib I don't think it's out of the ordinary for the expectation to be one of the best you've tasted and this didn't meet the mark. Our son had the ribeye and our daughter in law had the filet. They both said the same thing - good but not great. This is our first time visiting Cleverman. We came on a Saturday to celebrate our anniversary. Our reservation was relatively early at about 430 on a Saturday. First off the ambience in this place is incredible: lots of gold, fancy decor, and definitely feels like a 1920s restaurant/bar. Very classy and very upscale feeling. Our waiter Sean was very nice. He did a wonderful job taking our orders and checking in. Since it was our anniversary, we definitely had to try a lot of items, including the caviar, steak, and the lobster Wellington. We never had a lobster. Wellington before and was definitely very seafood tasting, but would definitely recommend. Overall things are going well in the beginning, but as a night progressed on, it was a very busy night with very large parties. The wait time for the Wellington felt like a long time, and we were not briefed beforehand that it would take a little bit extra time. During the heavy dinner service hours we felt that service became a bit slower, the food and ambience deathly matched however, service did tend to slow down a little bit. For that reason had to give this place at four out of five. But will definitely return back again for another occasion. read more

Absolutely amazing experience. My wife and I doubled dated with some friends two weeks after opening. We loved the drinks and steaks. The decor was like you jumped back in time. Customer service was top notch, where everyone worked as a team to take care of the guests. It's even more special to have a speakeasy connected to it. I'd highly recommend this place. read more

Dining Date: 12/5/25 THE FILTHY MARTINI BAR is easily a whole vibe (as the kids say!). We decided to start our night at the speakeasy style Filthy Martini Bar next door first. It's slightly tucked away on 3rd Street near valet, inconspicuous enough to feel exclusive but easy to find if you're looking. First Impressions: I walked in at 8 PM and was greeted by three absolutely stunning hostesses, dressed impeccably and giving luxury lounge energy right away. I knew instantly I was in the right place to drop a good amount of coin, and not be too upset about it - because you will spend a bit, so enjoy it. A very special shout-out to hostess, Korey, who was warm, polished, and incredibly helpful, she explained clearly that the bar was fully booked and seating wasn't guaranteed but still welcomed me in when I told her my friends were already inside after their 6:30p reservation at the Cleaverman, and also, I shared that I called earlier in the day and was advised there was open seating at the bar. Korey managed the flow, the rules, and the timing with grace. I truly felt taken care of. Cocktails, Music, and Vibe: We had eight cocktails among the three of us and every single one was divine. The bartenders were friendly and beautiful, and the drinks came out beautifully made. The live jazz band (with a phenomenal songstress) was fantastic. The vocalist had real presence, chose old and new remakes of songs we all know and love and gave it a new age edge that wasn't your grandfather's jazz - the instrumentalists were tight. The whole bar felt sexy, sultry, and polished. Overall, Filthy Martini Bar is an absolute gem and exactly the kind of spot downtown Phoenix has been missing. CLEAVERMAN STEAKHOUSE gets a 4/5 (for now) as I see huge potential. To start, no biggie, but our 9:30p reservation required a credit card hold ($25pp via OpenTable), so definitely note that. Service: Once seated, a bit after 9:30p, we were greeted by two energetic, friendly, and attentive servers. They walked us through the menu, cocktails, wine list, and pacing. Appetizers: Tomato Carpaccio: Very, very sweet, unexpectedly so, especially with the capers and pickled mushrooms. Tuna Carpaccio: Unevenly sliced and oddly warm, maybe from a hot plate. Caesar Salads: Excellent! and perfectly dressed, crisp, flavorful. Entrees Lamb Chops: The standout AND the highlight of the entire dinner. Absolutely delicious. Chicken Entrée: Good but leaned much sweeter than expected, not quite balanced. Filet Mignon: Unfortunately, the only dish that truly missed the mark as it was ordered medium rare and the 1st one arrived overdone and dry and the second attempt was also overcooked. The servers handled it quickly and professionally, and the manager came over to address the issue with what was definitely genuine interest. Sides Potato Puree: Classic, smooth, tasty, exactly what you expect from a high-end steakhouse. Risotto Cacio e Pepe: Interesting texture and incredibly hot (tongue-burning hot) but once it cooled down, the flavor was much better. Throughout the meal, several staff we had interacted with earlier (including from the Martini Bar) came by to check on us which was such a thoughtful touch. When it came time for the bill, some accommodations were made for the issues we experienced, and we were genuinely appreciative. Now, I have to give an enormous amount of credit to the manager, Brittany who was insanely professional and showed an exceptional level of care and concern. We had a very opinionated table (unprovoked opinions included), and Brittany handled everything with patience and genuine attentiveness. That approach truly stood out for us, and we're still talking about how thoroughly our opinions were considered, listened to, and how thoughtful everyone was. Cleaverman is 100% uber sexy inside. This is not a casual steakhouse. You should dress up. It fills a void that downtown desperately needed which is a proper fine dining steakhouse experience without driving across town. Despite a few early-opening kitchen inconsistencies, I see incredible potential here. This restaurant is only in its first month of service, and many of the issues we mentioned are the exact kinks that get smoothed out quickly. And I WILL be back. I am planning a big group dinner this week over the weekend, and another visit lined up the following week for a smaller dinner. I'm excited to update this review to the 5 stars that I fully believe Cleaverman will achieve with ease. Downtown Phoenix finally has the upscale and sexy dining experience it's been missing. Great experience all around. Restaurant: great ambiance, great design, properly lit. Staff was on point and really friendly. Kyle was our waiter and he was attentive, friendly, and professional. Side note: what's the white hospital sheets in the walls? Food: we got a good spread from the menu. Started with oysters that were fresh and tasty. Martinis were standard and what you'd expect from a martini. NY strip was just good, I wouldn't say incredible for a steakhouse. Scallops were phenomenal. Lamb chops were incredible. Broccolini side is a must order. They didn't wanna call it poutine but the fries with gravy were fantastic. Mac n' cheese was a classic sticky style. The restaurant is gorgeous...I would go back just for the vibes! Think swanky, 1920s with lots of rich velvets and gorgeous light fixtures. The uniforms for the waitstaff and bar staff are perfect- feels old timey Chicago. Despite this being the second night open, the service was excellent. Emma did a great job explaining the many dishes and contents that we ordered. Items that we would order again- the tuna carpaccio was exquisite...the unique flavoring of candied apple and crunch of toasted nuts was fantastic! The duck French fries- an absolute must! The fries were so crunchy and the pieces of duck and small amount of gravy (did not make the fries soggy), were perfect! The roasted root vegetables with creamy harissa were AMAZING! I will try and replicate this one at home. The 18 ounce ribeye was plenty for us to share, cooked perfectly to medium rare temperature. The BBC, is a butter cookie in a cast iron pan, topped with caramelized popcorn and vanilla ice cream. The salty and sweet combination and texture were delicious! There are so many items I would go back to try- including the hot seafood tower. We will definitely go back and have a cocktail at the bar ("Filthy") next door- we snuck a peak and it is equally swanky and gorgeous! We did have their "Pretty Decent Martinis" which were excellent- love me a blue cheese stuff olive and cornichon! Items that were just ok- the Caesar salad lacked flavor- I thought some anchovies and shaved parm would have punched it up. The beef carpaccio needed some finishing salt and was good, but not in the "best we have had" category. The creamed kale and spinach was way too salty. We were not able to eat it. Cleveland's Steakhouse is pure class. The room is stunning luxurious with a 1920s vibe and not a bad seat in the house. We were lucky to have a perfect table thanks to Brittany, who made the night feel special from start to finish. And to our server Trevor he was a great sever the whole staff was great Appetizers were excellent, the New York strip was cooked perfectly, the filet was outstanding, and the fresh oysters were hands-down the best we've ever had. Mashed potatoes were spot on, desserts were beautiful and delicious, and the bar afterward was just as impressive as the dining room. Got the opportunity to come in for my birthday dinner thanks to my wife making a surprise reservation. I'll start with the ambiance because that's the selling point for this place. It's modeled after old NY/Chicago steakhouses, recommend dressing up and would actually prefer if they had a higher standard of dress code. The service was great with both the waiter and "waiter assistant" being attentive and helpful. All our appetizers and food were very good with the shellfish au gratin and Brussels being the standouts. They gave me a Dubai chocolate dessert for my birthday that was also fantastic! Came here first time just me and my friend were celebrating her birthday, the food was phenomenal The staff was super friendly accommodating. Everybody pretty much picks up where the other one left off so seamless. My experience going to the bathroom was probably the best. The lady that gives out towels said I got you girl. If I could give this place 10 stars I would! As a trained chef myself, who has been in business and knows exactly what it takes to pull off the execution at this level, I'm in awe of this team of consummate professionals who make this place what it is! First off, the decor is stunning! You're literally transported to the "Roaring 20s" The class, the opulence is second to none. When you're greeted, the hostess is wearing all white, which is class on another level. Greeted with a smile, and seated in a timely matter. The servers are fantastic. Ours was Nathan, and you could tell this person eats, lives, and breathes hospitality! The food is amazing. We had a little of everything, started with the caviar, and seafood tower. The caviar is paired with a steak tartare! I've never seen that before. U4 Shrimp in the seafood tower and the lobster was divine. Our entrees were the Rack of Lamb, Lobster Wellington, and Prime Rib. Everything was cooked to perfection, the Wellington especially, which is not easy to do. The Prime Rib was paired with a homemade horseradish sauce that was spectacular! Afterwards we had the BBC dessert, which normally I don't order, but this was incredible. Also, Chef Jared, the mastermind responsible for the menu came out and introduced himself! What a nice personal touch that capped off an amazing dining experience! Cleaverman's Mother's Day Review What a huge disappointment for Mother's Day!!! Granted it was their first attempt at Buffet style. It was an epic failure at many points throughout the event. It is beyond me why you would use such a huge day of celebration to test out your minimal buffet efforts. The food was cold and variety was extremely limited. The opportunity to do more was there. You chose to do less and it showed. The brand alone tells you that the experience and food will be beyond your expectations. NOT!!! I could have got this and even more at another high end restaurant for less than 150.00 per person. Not including the tip of 30.00 per person. Although, our waitress with very good intentions did everything possible to go above and beyond. Little to nothing was going to change the experience. Our family drove 2 hours from Tucson to Phoenix to spend this special day and meal with us. Our apologies to them seemed to fall short of what we wanted for them. You can reduce the bill at the end by 99.00. But, as we stated several times. That was not the intention of our comments. Yet, somehow we felt listened too. But, not really heard. The table of 8 across from us seemed to echo the same disappointment in the food selections and temperature. Crab Louis was a nice portion but the sourcing it overpowered the salad itself. The crab was a tad fishy. I would recommend focusing on on making quality top notch food.
