Huge beer, wine, sour, cider, etc menu! Bartender was very nice and the drinks were great.

Awesome atmosphere and great bartenders! We stumbled upon Whining Pig near our parking garage downtown and decided to stop in since it was HH. The bartenders were super great and friendly! There is a HUGE beer selection with multiplied price points depending on how fancy your tastes may be. There is no food served, but you can get some cheap food at Taco Bell next door if needed lol!! If you're looking for a chill place with a great vibe and HUGE beer selection then this is your place!

Came here after a show at footprint center and it has great low-key hangout vibes. There are SO many drink options, albeit most are beer and I don't like beer but they have some other selections for people like me. My friend ordered for me while I held down our spot so I didn't see the entire menu but she came back with a glass of Moscato, it was so yummy and sweet. I believe I had like 3 glasses before we left. The only thing that made us a little sad was the jukebox didn't let us play anything since my friend had leftover credits from another bar for the same type of machine. But the music was banging anyway! Highly recommend if you're downtown looking for a smaller type of bar, plus all the tables have games you can play so groups are encouraged.

Grabbed a beer with my husband here- great vibes! Service was good and fast. It is very loud in this bar between the music and fans cheering on their teams that are playing on the tv. Very laid back and fun place. Dog friendly!! I got to stare at the cutest little pup while I drank my beer. The beer selection is HUGE here and they are bound to have something that you like.

My husband and I came here on a Sunday close to 1:00pm. Although Yelp says that they opened at 1:00pm, a bartender stated that on Sundays they open around 2pm due to the low traffic on this day and at this time. We were waiting in front of the doors to find another place to go and the bartender went ahead and let us in at 1pm! The ambiance is always nice to me. The lighting in here just gives me good vibes. I haven't had the food from here but I plan on it when I come back!

Hands down the best spot outside of the ballpark and arena to have a drink. Amazing rotating selection on draft and rare finds in the can. Insane HH 3-7PM daily games to enjoy with friends and a couple tvs sporting whatever local game might be on. I have been here at least 25 times and I have enjoyed something different every single time. Do keep in mind they serve Beer, Mead & Wine only

Randomly found this spot while wandering downtown on a Saturday afternoon, and wasn't disappointed! The interior I can describe is a rich bachelor's game room. It had quirky, fun details mixed with high end finishes. It was just fun to look around at! Penny countertops, chalk walls galore to draw on, tons of card and board games, sports on the TV, good music, and the most incredible selection of beers and wine. We took advantage of the brown bag special- $3 during happy hour got us a bottle or can of the bartender's choice, served as a surprise in a brown bag. Fun and a great value! The bartender Miguel was great, gave honest recommendations for drinks and where to go in the area, and was overal great conversation. If you want a chill, laid back, nice but not pretentious place, this is it! If I lived in the area it would be a regular place for me.

Great spot for solid winning beer and wine, BUT you'll stay for the wonderful service. Manual (?) and Gretchen (?) Were awesome... we stayed drinking because of them! Selections were off the chart and great. We will return! Thank you!

Happy Hour: 1pm-8pm every day HH Specials: $5 mystery wine, $3 brown bag beer, $5 sangria, $12 wine flights, $8 beer flights Day one of my Arizona trip and I already have my first five stars. This includes service, drinks, AND their brownie. This was my favorite wine and beer bar in Phoenix mainly because of the ambiance. Walking in I was hesitant because I'm not a big beer person and a sweet wine kind of person, I know, I know judge me all you want. I was excited to see that they had $8 beer flights because I'd have to like at least one of the ones I tried right? Right. My favorite was the Passion Fruit Nectar Mead. As for their wines, their red sangria is absolutely delicious! You know what else is delicious? Their brownie. Check in for a free brownie which looks unsuspecting but it is a delicious combination of peanut butter and brownie. Bars are fun when you have people to talk to but when you want to be a little more interactive, this is the place to go! They have board games all over the place AND electronic old school games too. All in all, I highly recommend this place!

Jessica, my waitress was really awesome and very friendly and helped me pick out some really great things on the menu. I had the Reuben sandwich with sweet potato fries. The German pretzel bites with beer, cheese and the churros with ice cream and a few beers and I have to say the prices are excellent and the food is incredibly good and I don't say that lightning most dive bars are just good for the ambience and a few cheap drinks. This place is great all around. Also, their patio area is dog friendly, so I was able to bring my little furry friend with me and he hung out and laid down near the table. Another bonus.

You can tell right away this is the kind of place regulars come back to often. Food I didn't try much food, but I did have the cheese crisp and it was solid. Light, flaky, and more like an open-faced tostada than a quesadilla. It came topped with green chili and chicken, and everything worked well together. Based on that, I'd expect the rest of the menu to be consistent, even if it's not trying to reinvent the wheel. Service Service was efficient, especially considering how busy it was. No complaints here... you can tell the staff knows how to handle a full house and keep things moving. Ambience This is where the place stands out. The vibe feels like a food network designed a biker bar, but in a fun, not over-the-top way. It's also apparently a Kansas City Chiefs bar, which adds to the identity. There was a live band playing early 2000s rock hits, which kept the energy up. Crowd was friendly overall, very much a neighborhood crowd. Overall This isn't a destination bar, but it's a really solid go-to if you live nearby. Think of it as an elevated dive/sports bar with a strong local following. Good drinks, good energy, and a place that does what it's supposed to do well.

THE BEST CHIPS (FRIES)!…read more As a British expat, I'm always happy to try a new British restaurant, so I had to try this one while visiting Phoenix. The pasty and gravy were authentic and delicious. The chips were some of the best I've had in a very long time, if not ever. The restaurant is large with an upper and lower level and patio dining. It has a pub-like feel. Use the QR to view the menu, but order through the waiter. (This isn't quite obvious, so a sign stating 'Order with the waitstaff' would make things more clear). There are a variety of pasty flavors to choose from. The bathrooms are completely graffitied -- I think they've chosen to make that part of the decor. Don't let them scare you off! I would visit again if we were in the Phoenix area. Helpful?

Today, I was walking near my office and came across the Downtown Phoenix location of Cornish Pasty. I enjoyed a tasty lunch with good service, and I am already looking forward to heading back there. When I approached the restaurant from the corner of Central and Monroe, it wasn't clear which door was the door I should enter though it seems like any door off Monroe or Central is just fine. There were limited number of tables plus the bar, and I was delighted to see a small table available. I was eating on my own with a book, and I was quickly greeted by one of several team members who stopped by my table over my lunch hour. I asked a few questions about three options, and I decided upon the Chicken Pot Pie Signature Pasty consisting of chicken, carrots, red potato, green beans, celery, and onion with rosemary. There was also chicken gravy on the side. Everything about the dish was delicious! I would consider ordering this again as I enjoyed it so much; however, I may want to try something else next time. There are so many options! I did learn though that you cannot substitute most options in the pasties. Visit the Cornish Pasty website at https://www.cornishpastyco.com. On the website is the history of the Cornish pasty, information about all 11 locations (of which 9 are in Arizona), menus, a photo gallery, catering options, contact form, employment options, online ordering, and gift cards. The menu consists of their signature pasties and premium pasties though they also list vegan and vegetarian pasties, salads, appetizers and soups, sides, desserts, and drinks. While the Scottsdale and Tempe locations appear larger than the Downtown Phoenix location, it was still comfortable and had similar positive customer service from staff. There are so few restaurants like the Cornish Pasty in the Phoenix area. I'd certainly recommend visiting any of the Cornish Pasty locations though for a positive experience Downtown, feel free to stop by. No reservations are needed. If you don't find a regular table available, feel free to stop at the bar and take a seat there. I look forward to returning back to the Cornish Pasty again soon. Yum!
