Unfortunately there was a major ~haboob~ covering the city so we couldn't see much but amazing nonetheless. The gnocchi was so incredible we were wishing there was more. The bread tasted extremely fresh and the pesto dip it came with was yummy. I ordered the filet with potatoes and it quite literally melted in my mouth. Plated so well too. I don't even know what else to say about it. It was perfect. My partner ordered the NY strip and his was delicious as well and the Boursin potato cake was so unique and tasty. Drinks were great too. Loved everything about this restaurant, except that there was a private event going on at sunset when we were there! We will have to return when the patio is open! My daughter's steak (ordered medium) was pretty close to well done, and he didn't even ask if she wanted another one, he just took care of it immediately and said he'd have another steak out for her right away. The ambiance is great and the views are stunning. However, the noise level did increase through the night as the restaurant filled up. The service was great and our servers were proactive. The restaurant was a little stuffy and our waiter brought us cold cloth napkins to cool off. A server accidentally dropped a starter dish of shrimp on my fiancée which resulted in both of us visiting the restrooms to freshen up while the staff cleaned the mess at our table. Despite the inconvenience, they did not comp us our shrimp, they simply replaced the shrimp dish and gave us a complementary gnocchi starter (which we did not order or necessarily want). The replacement shrimp dish was rushed out quickly and seemed to be undercooked as it was room temperature and very chewy. The drinks were good and the dinner was decent. Overall the dining experience was okay but for the price-point, I would not return again. read more

Different Pointe of View (DPOV) is hands down the BEST view in all of Phoenix or Scottsdale!! Other restaurants come close, but none can top this mountain top view and the sunsets! Just driving up to the restaurant parking lot makes you realize how high up you are. Make a reservation to arrive before sunset so you get to enjoy the view in the daylight, then sunset, and then night sky. DPOV has a romantic ambiance. It's great for special occasions. They bring you complimentary bread with a side of three spreads. I love their lobster bisque and their crab cake. I've ordered their scallops more than once, they are delicious and cooked perfect! I've also had their pan seared Chilean Seabass, yum! The View is the Star of the show but the food is for sure the supporting actor that also wins a role!! Add DPOV to your list! read more

Where do I start. This place is connected to the Hilton. Which is nice so that you get someone to drive you in the golf cart up to the door. One thing to remember is that you need to get reservations in advance. The hostess was helpful as she was able to get us a table with a great view. The table staff was funny and they were accommodating and they even took our picture outside with phoenix lights in the background. They provided 3 types bread and three types of dipping/butter. They all were delicious. I had the Brussels leaf salad. It's like a wedge salad but with Brussels sprouts leaves but tasted better. My steak was done perfectly and I enjoyed the lobster mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. My wife sea bass was done perfectly and she liked it a lot. Ian has been with Different Point of View for 20+ years, I witnessed him present a wine from a well known Winery from CA, he was "Spot On" in his presentation and sold the table a bottle of a great wine. I booked reservations here for our anniversary & birthday dinner! We were seated immediately and was greeted by Richard! He was amazing and very attentive. We had a nice view but realized sitting by the door there is alot of foot traffic. We ordered the 63 egg fried rice for a starter and the taste was great but if texture of food throws you off I would avoid this one. The egg whites were too gelatinous for me and caused it to look strange. If it tastes good then just eat it, but man it was a mental challenge. I ordered the New York strip rare and it came with charred broccolini and a puck of potatoes. The steak was cooked different all over. I had some overcooked and undercooked parts. The broccolini tasted great but missed the char. The potato circle definitely needed some salt or sauces to accommodate the dryness and lack of seasoning. The mocktail "Winter Solstice" was delicious. The anniversary/birthday cake was not complimentary. Although he did through in some free chocolates at the end with the coffee. I definitely don't want anything for free but I am aware of the small things restaurants can do to make the evening more special. Top of the Rock was a better experience in this area. First time at different pointe of view and such a lovely experience. It's definitely a dress nice type of restaurant as stated on their website. For our appetizers, we got Iberico Pork Belly and it was fantastic. Tender and well seasoned. Our main meal we got the salmon and the koji marinated hanger steak. We ordered medium for the steak and it was fantastic, tender and juicy with just enough pink. The steak came with a potato cake which was tasty. The salmon was also delicious, flaky and tender. Dessert was also marvelous, the summer panna cotta apparently is really popular so we decided to try it. All I have to say is, there was nothing left of the dessert before we left. Also got their margarita which I really liked. It was definitely spicy, sweet but strong. Apart from the food at different pointe of view, the view from the Terrance was breathtaking. We were able to take picture of the city, talk outside while waiting for our food, take pictures and watch the moon. It's definitely one of the sleeping points of this restaurant. The service here is not good. My mom and I came in around 8pm on a Tuesday night for dessert and had to wait 30 minutes after ordering our dessert just to be told that the one we wanted wasn't actually available. After ordering a different one, it took another 30 minutes for that one to be made and it was good, but not worth the wait. The portion was really small, too. Our waitress did not refill our waters at all. We ended up having to go up to the front to ask for our check because she was nowhere to be found. Another waitress handled the check while our original waitress was cleaning the silverware. The restaurant was not busy so the service really should have been better. The inside of the restaurant and rooftop is nice and gives a pretty view of the sunset and city skyline, but the actual building that the restaurant is in feels really outdated. Overall, I was pretty disappointed with this restaurant considering it's located at a nice hotel. I probably would not come back. read more

I had been wanting to try this place for awhile. We came here to celebrate our anniversary, and I'd say this place is a little challenging to get to. It's up on the hill at the hotel with narrow and steep roads and can get congested quick with too many cars. It was dark when we came so it was hard to see where to go, and you have to go up a bunch of stairs, and they had a private event so we weren't sure where the actual restaurant entrance was. When we got to the top of the stairs, the hosts were talking to each other and didn't even greet us when we walked up as they were in the middle of a conversation so we didn't even know if we were in the right place. We had to greet them first, to tell them we had a reservation. Then getting to the table, the views are absolutely stunning here. They welcomed us with 3 different types of bread and 3 different spreads which were all incredible but the focaccia was my favorite. Our server was great and helped recommend some of the most popular dishes and we went with the Prickly pear salmon, the 63 degree egg, and the NY strip. The 63 degree egg appetizer was super unique, flavorful, and delicious I'd highly reccomend that. Then my prickly pear salmon was AMAZING. It was so buttery, and melted in your mouth and was nice and sweet with the prickly pear glaze, and the bamboo rice with it was delicious too. My partner ordered the NY strip and unfortunately he said it was just an okay steak, and had better elsewhere so wouldn't recommend that one. The potato cake was interesting too but almost tasted a little sour like there was sour cream in there, it was still good though. Then they brought us out some chocolates & strusel for our anniversary which was sweet. Water was always filled here, and service at the table was great. Docking a star though for the initial encounter with the hosts was not that great of an experience and I'd expect better at a fine dining establishment like this one, also for the not so great steak. read more

This place has the best view in Phoenix. Has amazing ambiance too. All I can say is WW. This restaurant is tucked away up a hill near a hotel or some sort of Resort.The food was good but the menu is pretty small. The presentation was lovely, as they crisped my salmon's skin and added it as garnish, which tasted like a potato chip-might I add.The waiters were awesome and the drinks were as well. But you'd better have your coins in order if you plan on visiting this place. It's beautiful! Awesome idea for a date night. I would recommend making reservations. The specials of the day had run out before our reservation, but it goes to show they are highly sought out dishes. Menu was very flavor-forward with layers of delicious components. The scallops and filet were top-notch choices. I was drooling over my friend's steak topped with luscious lobster butter, but wasn't upset that my seafood dish and the addictive pieces of bacon scattered throughout. Grabbed dessert to-go. The experience doesn't start inside the restaurant. My beautiful girlfriend and I found the perfect parking spot with a view of the beautiful cityscape.
