This is a beautiful and romantic restaurant. My hubby and I dined here for our date night. The service was on point, the cocktails were crafted nicely and food was delicious.

I always love coming to Wren & Wolf. I decor is kind of cool with taxidermy wildlife and large paintings of animals throughout the dining room. There is a little lounge seating area with sofas and a huge painting of an outdoor scene. It's kind of cool. I also love the lighting which feels like little balls floating over the tables. Our server was fantastic - very attentive and friendly and cute as a bug's ear. We started by ordering drinks. Hubby just ordered a beer, and I got the Raspberry Baray. I've ordered a different cocktail from their menu every time I've come and this has been my favorite. It was delish! For starter we got the meatballs served on creamy polenta. They were fantastic and quite large. I love them! For entrees, hubby got the Atlantic salmon with fingerling potatoes and I got the center cut filet with mashed potatoes and baby carrots. Both were so yummy. My filet was cooked exactly the way I love it. For dessert, hubby had the lemon cake with Bavarian cream and I had the butter cake with strawberries and whipped cream. They were both heavenly! If you come, make sure that you have a reservation. We saw many people trying to drop in without a reservation. They were sent to the bar but at one point there were no seats at the bar so people had to just leave.

Went back with a friend and as also wren and wolf was a fabulous experience. She loved the bone marrow. I thought the beef carpaccio was absolutely fabulous. Cocktails were strong and well-balanced. The atmosphere is unique, cozy, and interesting. Service was wonderful. The potato dumplings were savory, creamy, and rich and are definitely a new favorite of mine!

I first tried this restaurant on a date night, and loved their ambience as well as their bone marrow so much, that I planned a dinner with 6 other of my ladies for a girls night out soon after. It was perfect because we also ended up in trophy room at the end of the night, which is a speakeasy connected to Wren & Wolf. Their food: their bone marrow is one of the best I've ever had. I'd honestly come back for a good glass of wine, and bone marrow with a few other apps. The truth is, I'm not all that crazy about their entrees, especially for the price -- flavor could be better but I gave 5 stars because the restaurant really is one of the nicest I've tried in Phx/Scottsdale area. Service is pretty great and always on top of it. As someone whose family has owned restaurants most of my life, I'm highly appreciative of good service since it's becoming rarer these days and this place has it.

About a 2-2.5: I was excited to check out Wren & Wolf, as this place was highly recommended to check out while we were in PHX. They have a bakery case with pastries and coffee that you can just order and go, but the rest of the seating area offers breakfast, brunch, and dinner service. We came here for an early lunch, and we ordered: +the noble country toast - served with house-mixed berry jam; we were hoping for the whipped truffle butter, and when we inquired, the staff was able to provide us due to the mix-up; the toast was thick and grilled, but it was just a bit too much bread for us; we did enjoy the whipped truffle butter +a French omelette - served with a side of breakfast potatoes and a cup of fruit; this was very generous, and could have easily fed 2+ people +and, the spaghetti al pesto - prepared with edamame, lemon & herb whipped feta, candied pistachio, and mint; this was one of their popular items, but it ended up just being 'okay' - the spaghetti was cooked al dente, but there was an off/mildew-y taste to the pesto; also, the dish was served cold, and it seemed like it wasn't served right away from the kitchen I did like the decor of the restaurant, as it was high ceilings, spacious, and loved the paintings, the lighting, and the figurines. Staff were friendly. Easily accessible by the light rail. +cold dishes +whipped truffle butter +friendly service

Wren & Wolf is a breathtaking, gorgeous restaurant. Beautifully decorated and the atmosphere feels upscale with a hint of hip. After being sat down, the host asked if we preferred bottled water, sparkling or still. We chose still and never received this during our meal. I can only assume this wasn't relayed to our server. For appetizers, we both were intrigued by the "Caviar Bump." This is brought out on a trolly, and the server scoops then places a quarter sized amount of caviar on opposite side of your ball of thumb. He instructs us the best way to enjoy this caviar is to gently press it against the roof of your mouth with your tongue. Both of us are in agreeance that compared to the other times we've had caviar; this was a bit fishy and tasted passed it prime. Onto mains, my partner opted in for the double smash burger which was great. Our server/kitchen was kind enough to upgrade her side to one of their special salads which was great. As for me, I opted in for their eggs benedict, upgrading to their king crab. I found this tasty, but I found the overall flavours overpowered the taste of the crab. Both dishes were beautifully presented, and our server was casual and was a pleasure. We're happy to make this our first meal visiting Phoenix, and if we were to come back, they have an amazing looking dinner menu we'd love to try.

I have been to Wren & Wolf for brunch and dinner. Every experience has been met with busy, yet friendly staff. While Wren & Wolf does not have a dedicated gluten-free menu, and cannot make everything gluten-free, their servers are knowledgeable and have always been able to let me know which items are safe for me (as a celiac) to order! For brunch, I have had the Steak and Egg Sandwich (with no bread). Amazing! For dinner, I recommend the Ceviche, Tuna Tartare, and Filet. All are amazing too! The only dessert I have tried (and would get again) is the Chocolate Tarte - it is also amazing! While the food is the star of the show, the is one of those restaurants that pays special attention to the decorations. There is definitely a bit of a taxidermy theme going on here, but it's tastefully done and offers a cool ambiance! You really cannot go wrong at Wren & Wolf... it's amazing!! Overall rating: *****FIVE STARS***** Gluten-free rating: ****FOUR STARS****

This is one of those places that are very impressive to be at, and the bill WILL reflect that. This is somewhere you go for a special occasion, like if you're trying to wine and dine someone, this would be the space. The atmosphere and service are 10/10, you will feel special. The location is downtown, it was giving NYC. My steak was perfect but I felt they could have done better with the sides. I didn't love the lobster baked potato and I was also disappointed by the Brussel sprouts because it's usually my favorite.

Vibe and food is amazing, we are from Seattle and both agreed everything was great. I got the tenderloin steak and I wish it had more seasoning because I do enjoy my herbs ( even salt and pepper ) but it was cooked perfectly. Everything we had , I would eat again. Service was great both at the bar and our waitress for dinner.

Two days ago I came here with my husband and then yesterday I went again with my friend that lives in the area. I am visiting from out of town and this place was very close to our hotel so we decided to give it a shot and I gave it a shot two times because it was very good and I wanted to try some different things on the menu. The second time we went. It was a cool little cigar room, feel with a lot of taxidermy and when I say taxidermy, I say it in the most tasteful of ways. Service was good. Both of our servers were nice. I had excellent suggestions and if the food that we ordered would be enough. I ordered the lobster pasta. It was very good along with the Zataar bread, service and whipped ricotta salad. It's an upscale restaurant a lot of drink options good ambience, and really good food. I didn't have anything. I didn't like. I'll definitely come back again When I'm in the area.

Hands down one of the best and most memorable dining experiences we've had. Tim and I went to Wren & Wolf to celebrate his Master's graduation and it was superb from start to finish. The atmosphere alone is amazing -- beautiful space, great energy, and they seated us right on time for our reservation. Everything we ordered was fantastic and honestly very reasonably priced for the quality and experience. We started with the bread service with bone marrow, then had truffle mac and cheese, shrimp, ribeye steak, pork schnitzel, beef carpaccio, tuna tartare, chicken and dumplings... and a few other things I completely forgot to take pictures of because we were too busy enjoying everything. We can't say enough good things about this place. The food, the service, the vibe -- all of it was incredible. Tim and I are already talking about planning a drive back to Arizona just to eat here again

First time at this place, a couple of my friends had been there before so, they knew what to order and such. We had an excellent waiter, food came out hot after our promptly served starters and the menus were clean!!!!! The service and food met my expectations and I will return for another visit.

Love this place. Came here before the Suns game for dinner and it was such a treat. Service was amazing and ambience was calm and relaxing. We came right before the rush of dinner. Food was so good! Truffle fries were perfect! Crispy and crunchy.

Ask the Community - Wren & Wolf

Can I leave my car parked at the restaurant while I see a show at the financial theater?

The restaurant validates parking for the Two Renaissance parking garage. Otherwise, you'd have to pay to park there.

    Are there any vegan options?

Is happy hour still offered from 3-5?

    Yes it is

    Are there gluten free options?

    Yes

Hello are happy hours 3-5 or what time?

    Yes. 3pm to 5pm. Everyday

Do they have a hidden or secret "vip" room? If so, who's allowed in, what's the secret password? Lol

Yes they do, it's reservation only, not really a secret just private and no password required :)

    What is the dress code?

A bit upscale. You will or at least should feel uncomfortable in shorts and tshirt.

For the coffee bar, is this somewhere you could sit and work for a couple of hours in the morning, is it serviced, or grab and go? I didn't see a breakfast menu: is there any food or pastries available?

Yes. There is public wifi, options table service or grab and go and ample seating for work. There are pastries that go along with the coffee and the lunch menu begins at 11am.

    Where is parking?

    City scape across the street

I see reviews mentioning happy hour but don't see a time or menu. Does anyone know if they still have happy hour and what time it is? (and on weekends)?

    3-5pm, Mon-Friday.

We have reservations this week. Bringing our 9 yr old to the dinner. Is the restaurant and menu child friendly?

They have a fancier Mac and cheese that your 9 year old may like! Or the meat loaf. But it is definitely a more mature pallet. They seemed very accommodating though, so maybe they could make a basic pasta ragu?

    Do they offer reservations?

Yes, you can book a reservation on Open Table.

Do they offer any gluten free food items?

They do. I have celiac disease and am forced to eat gluten-free... and they have a handful of delicious gluten-free options available! Some entrees unexpectedly include gluten, so be sure to ask your server if you have any concerns/doubts. I'm… Read more

I had to ask for water twice, never got a refill, and overall felt largely ignored--minimal eye contact, no real warmth, just an impersonal feel that didn't match the space. It felt like a place that may be a bit of a victim of its own success--popularity has grown, but delivery hasn't fully kept pace. Part of the appeal here is the permanent taco truck outside, which I know from past visits is excellent, and I love the truck's outspoken, unapologetic support for immigrants. That said, the cocktail itself was excellent. I was specifically looking for a coffee-based drink before heading to another event, and the Cambures al Estilo Foster delivered on flavor. It was tiny, though--served in a small stemmed glass, gone in a few sips. It did the job, but some may find the portion underwhelming for the price. No major complaints, but nothing pulling me back either. I'm adding a fourth star on a bit of a hunch--I'd like to think they can dial it back in if I return.

My party and I had a reservation on a Saturday night at 9pm (when it's 13 people, what can you do). What kind of sucked though (and mainly why I'm deducting a star) is that we did wait an additional half hour to be seated after our reservation time. Our theory is that they didn't think the entire party would actually arrive, and they were not ready to accommodate us. To be fair, the restaurant IS on the smaller side, but there was 0 communication during that half hour on what was going on... which isn't really good for us either. We got the original set, and this somewhat confused me as well. The food was really good, and was definitely a restaurant that I'd go to for the experience, but for some reason some of the meats were doubled while others weren't. The double portions were really nice since our party was so large, we needed to split the food between 4 different grills (so each table got 2 grills each, feeding 6-7 people in total or 3-4 people per grill), but then we had to share the portions where we only got one serving. It wasn't bad, but to me, didn't make sense. The food was really good though; I didn't care too much about the soup, but the green sauce was SO good. Mixing a little with the soup was incredible. I thought the beef and pork were really good. I personally left the restaurant full, but many others in my party did not. I think it's a really good amount of food for 2 people, but when you push to 3+, you probably do not want to come hungry. Also--the live music at Pemberton next door is SO LOUD, you're going to be shouting at your table the entire night when you sit outside. I think I would come back if I wanted to show this place to someone who didn't live here, but it isn't on the top of my list for when I'm trying to eat out, but I will definitely consider this for special date night occasions. It is extremely expensive for what it is though. For $70+ you risk the chance of leaving not full which SUCKS.
