Cute spot with yummy and fairly priced cocktails. I loved the aesthetic and ambience as well as the location.

So far, so good has easily become one of my favorite bars. It's located all the way in the back at the Churchill and it's always a great spot to grab a few drinks while grabbing food and enjoying the Dj on a Friday night. The drinks here are STRONG. If you aren't a fan of tasting the alcohol then this may not be the spot for you. My favorite drink right now is the banana hammock. It is a frozen drink that not only is strong but it is visually appealing as well. It comes with a nilla wafer which is always a nice treat while sipping on the drink. I also like the skinny dip. If you're a fan of mezcal the skinny dip is a great choice. Come through and support these awesome bartenders!

Came to the Churchill for the first time tonight and we were intrigued by the crazy drink names from so far so good. I got a drink called the thousand mile stare which had mezcal and some fruity stuff. It was good, strong and not too sweet! By husband got dusty's f*** sauce (I think mainly because he liked the name of it). And it was a pretty refreshing summer drink! Would definitely want to try some of the other delicious looking drinks here next time!

SFSG is the new bar at The Churchill which replaces Pobrecito. Very different decor for round 2 (clean lines, tile, modern, etc) but similar vibes - fun bartenders and drinks at similar prices to Pobrecito. There's a daily house shot and the menu is fairly laid out as to what the cocktails are (one is literally called This One Has Whiskey), and tells you what it's going to taste like without trying to explain all of the ingredients. Like Pobrecito, they have one uber boozy drink (RIP orange frozen Pobrecito drink) with a limit of ONE per customer per visit. So you know... of course that's what I picked at my first visit! Probably more boozy tasting than the frozen concoction but it definitely puts you in an island frame-of-mind, AND you get to drink it out of a fun cup! Hope they will keep it around as noted in a few interviews the owner indicates he'll be rotating drinks every so often.

Fab little cocktail place in the Churchill with friendly staff and creative drinks. Lots of outdoor seating in the open-air courtyard. At the bartenders suggestion I tried out the breakfast negroni- a brilliant combo of coffee-infused campari, gin, madeira sherry, and a clementine liquor. Perfectly balanced, served with a cute cookie on top. Lots more on the menu I wanted to try. Can't wait to return.

The Churchill is an awesome spot! Couple quality spots to choose from. My drink from so far so good was very strong and quite expensive but I enjoyed the atmosphere and the bartender was friendly.

Very good drinks! Reasonably priced and tasty! Garnishments are cute and fancy. They are apart if The Churchhill which has many other retailer and food spots. In the heart of an arts district. Great scenic walks!

Many of which do not contain additives. I won't lie, I thought I was a big fan until I realized I didn't recognize a lot of the tequilas they had on hand. Downstairs is a whole different vibe. Custom craft cocktails, dim lighting with artwork, and more make it feel like an upscale NYC spot in your basement. I did 2 of my favorites, Paloma De Guayaba with the custom block name etched and the Baya Nueva. While in the Cantina, I had to order my friend the Basura (trash), but that wasn't the case... then again, it is served in a plastic bag, and is definitely a throwback to my early 20's of gettin' lit!!!! It was busy, but not packed, which made the service stand out more than it should have. I had to ask for water twice, never got a refill, and overall felt largely ignored--minimal eye contact, no real warmth, just an impersonal feel that didn't match the space. It felt like a place that may be a bit of a victim of its own success--popularity has grown, but delivery hasn't fully kept pace. Part of the appeal here is the permanent taco truck outside, which I know from past visits is excellent, and I love the truck's outspoken, unapologetic support for immigrants. That said, the cocktail itself was excellent. I was specifically looking for a coffee-based drink before heading to another event, and the Cambures al Estilo Foster delivered on flavor. It was tiny, though--served in a small stemmed glass, gone in a few sips. It did the job, but some may find the portion underwhelming for the price. No major complaints, but nothing pulling me back either. I'm adding a fourth star on a bit of a hunch--I'd like to think they can dial it back in if I return.

My party and I had a reservation on a Saturday night at 9pm (when it's 13 people, what can you do). What kind of sucked though (and mainly why I'm deducting a star) is that we did wait an additional half hour to be seated after our reservation time. Our theory is that they didn't think the entire party would actually arrive, and they were not ready to accommodate us. To be fair, the restaurant IS on the smaller side, but there was 0 communication during that half hour on what was going on... which isn't really good for us either. We got the original set, and this somewhat confused me as well. The food was really good, and was definitely a restaurant that I'd go to for the experience, but for some reason some of the meats were doubled while others weren't. The double portions were really nice since our party was so large, we needed to split the food between 4 different grills (so each table got 2 grills each, feeding 6-7 people in total or 3-4 people per grill), but then we had to share the portions where we only got one serving. It wasn't bad, but to me, didn't make sense. The food was really good though; I didn't care too much about the soup, but the green sauce was SO good. Mixing a little with the soup was incredible. I thought the beef and pork were really good. I personally left the restaurant full, but many others in my party did not. I think it's a really good amount of food for 2 people, but when you push to 3+, you probably do not want to come hungry. Also--the live music at Pemberton next door is SO LOUD, you're going to be shouting at your table the entire night when you sit outside. I think I would come back if I wanted to show this place to someone who didn't live here, but it isn't on the top of my list for when I'm trying to eat out, but I will definitely consider this for special date night occasions. It is extremely expensive for what it is though. For $70+ you risk the chance of leaving not full which SUCKS.

My partner and I RSVP'd for a Thursday 7:30pm flight from NYC to Tokyo. Per our email, we were instructed to arrive about 15 minutes early to pick up our flight tickets from the downtown restaurant Wren & Wolf. Spoiler alert: Carry On is a speakeasy attached to the back of the restaurant. After picking up your ticket, you walk around the corner to the large orange "plane" door, which opened punctually at 7:30pm to start our experience. We gave our flight attendants (the staff was indeed wearing flight attendant uniforms) our tickets at the front desk, and were given free Carry On pins before being escorted to our table. Despite being a Thursday evening There were overhead announcements and even windows playing animations emulating a real flight experience from take-off to landing! The interior is gorgeous, from the furnishings to the lighting. Craftily, there are many mirrors inside to create the illusion of a larger space. The menu emulated an in-flight menu, with food and drinks based on the trip's theme! We ordered an additional drink each and an onion dip that were all creatively crafted and delicious! All in all, Carry On is the perfect date night or girl's night experience. While it might not be in most people's price range for a casual night out, it is definitely worth trying for a special occasion if possible. I would love to go back and am looking forward to the next destination's theme!
