We came here on a Saturday at around 9:30pm. This place is only open on Friday and Saturday from 9pm-midnight so I'm glad we were able to stop by here since we wouldn't have any other time during our trip. This place is above The Grand on the second floor. There's a door that you can walk through that will take you to a tiny room that can probably seat like 20 people total. All the drinks are about $12-13. I ordered the sazerac which tasted really good. My girlfriend got the blue Wallis which she did not like because it was essentially straight gin with a dash of blue curaçao. This is a really nice speakeasy with a cool ambience. The drinks are really strong (a lot of them contain absinthe) so be prepared for that. I would definitely come back.

I cannot day enough good things about Sanctum! The bartenders are just fantastic, so knowledgeable and super friendly. They just complete the whole cool speakeasy vibe! I've been there 3 times, and each time is fantastic! I love to get dressed up to the nines and Sanctum and the amazing decor is just perfect!!

Head upstairs within "The Grand" and you'll find Sanctum! Sanctum is The Grand's speakeasy. However, it's only opened Fridays and Saturdays from 9pm to midnight. They have an interesting and creative cocktail menu. I ordered an Absinthe Frappe and it was delicious! Sweet and refreshing. It came in a pretty tall glass for $9, so well worth it. The lighting is dim but romantic, and the decor is dark and victorian. There's a balcony where you can enjoy the live music of The Grand from above. This is definitely an ideal date night spot, very intimate and seductive. Gorgeous bar and wonderful drinks! Also, the service was fantastic, the bartender was very personable and patient.

Fantastic and unique experience. The ambiance is dark, cool and invites you to sit back, chill and enjoy exceptional service from Nicolas. The drinks are delicious and unique. My favorite was the Aviator, a favorite of Howard Hughes. Remember, you have to get the secret code from the bartender, downstairs, in order to enter the Sanctum. Also, there is a dress code. Men business casual, women dress to impress. I will be definitely be back and definitely recommend.

This place is so cool! You have to go to the second floor above the coffee shop. The drinks are a little pricey but the bartender was so friendly and made it worth it. I highly recommend!

Main level/Upstairs vibe is well-lit with a true cantina bar feel. High-top tables, seats at the bar & happy hour from 4-7 pm make it ideal for some $7 drinks!!. The collection of Tequilas is GREAT. Many of which do not contain additives. I won't lie, I thought I was a big fan until I realized I didn't recognize a lot of the tequilas they had on hand. Downstairs is a whole different vibe. Custom craft cocktails, dim lighting with artwork, and more make it feel like an upscale NYC spot in your basement. I did 2 of my favorites, Paloma De Guayaba with the custom block name etched and the Baya Nueva. While in the Cantina, I had to order my friend the Basura (trash), but that wasn't the case... then again, it is served in a plastic bag, and is definitely a throwback to my early 20's of gettin' lit!!!! Always look forward to sharing this place with friends visiting and connecting with those locally.

It was busy, but not packed, which made the service stand out more than it should have. I had to ask for water twice, never got a refill, and overall felt largely ignored--minimal eye contact, no real warmth, just an impersonal feel that didn't match the space. It felt like a place that may be a bit of a victim of its own success--popularity has grown, but delivery hasn't fully kept pace. Part of the appeal here is the permanent taco truck outside, which I know from past visits is excellent, and I love the truck's outspoken, unapologetic support for immigrants. That said, the cocktail itself was excellent. I was specifically looking for a coffee-based drink before heading to another event, and the Cambures al Estilo Foster delivered on flavor. It was tiny, though--served in a small stemmed glass, gone in a few sips. It did the job, but some may find the portion underwhelming for the price. No major complaints, but nothing pulling me back either. I'm adding a fourth star on a bit of a hunch--I'd like to think they can dial it back in if I return.

First, for a divey-style bar, the barkeep was really friendly. And they have good drinks. He made a stiff dirty martini, an espresso martini, and a few of their Mezcal-based "Smoke and Berries." Outside, we feasted on cheap eats from (I can't remember the name), but we ordered everything from tacos to nachos to fries and I think empanadas? Great music, great lighting, service, and drinks. Highly rec.

From the jump, the energy was chill but not boring... lights were warm, music had bounce, and the whole place felt curated without being corny. Bartender energy? Different. No menus needed... we gave a vibe, he poured what matched it. Not sure what was in the glass, but it slapped. You ever drink something so good you start reevaluating your life choices? That. Clean pours. Balanced. Not over-mixed. Just enough sweetness to get you in trouble. Crowd was mixed, stylish... looked like people who know where to be without needing to post about it. The seating's cozy enough to post up and talk but open enough to float around if you're trying to socialize. It had that lounge-meets-night-out energy. Bathrooms were clean... that matters when the drinks are flowing. Never felt like a dive. Never felt like a bottle-service trap either. The restaurant itself is hidden inside another called Coabana, but there is a door clearly labeled Cocktails to get to it. Through the door the hustle and bustle of the busy restaurant outside gives way to a cocktail bar that feels much more intimate, with dark lighting and quieter music than is playing outside. It was perfect to converse and enjoy drinks with friends! This time we went with some friends, and each of us could not stop talking about how good everything was! We started with In To The Blue shots for the table, which were so good we wished we had sipped them. Then we ordered our first round of drinks and food. We shared a plate of nachos and they had the perfect balance of toppings and chips, then my partner and I ordered some tacos and a Cubano Sammie. The sandwich was delicious, much better than the average Cubano I've come across in Phoenix. The tacos were also great, and $11 for 3 was a steal! Our friends also got tacos, which they enjoyed. My partner ordered Cupid's Dagger and the Insomniac to drink, and she loved both of them! Cupid's Dagger was also served with a bubble of smoke and it was on a little silver tray, which was cool. I ordered the Son of a Peach and Femme Fatale, and they were both delicious. The Femme Fatale was also served inside of a wooden cake tray filled with smoke, which was a very cool experience and added to the flavor of the drink. All in all this is not just a restaurant, but an experience. And if you have some money to go out in downtown Phoenix, I would say this experience is not one to miss! If you can, try to get a table with Eulalio because he is excellent!
