I attended a birthday party at Off The Record and had a great experience today. For a Sunday it was slow but we were a large party so it made it more personable. The venue itself is fun, energetic, and beautifully themed throughout. Every room has its own personality, and the décor really adds to the overall atmosphere. They can accommodate large groups and also offer private rooms, which made it a great choice for a birthday celebration. The concept is centered around music and socializing, creating a lively and memorable experience. The severs are lively filled with energy. Definitely help to keep the party moving. They offer food from a food truck outside. Good variety and my party thought it was tasty. The drink menu is extensive served with a cool glass. Be sure to carpool as it's downtown. Even though there is plenty of parking it's adds up. read more

Went her for my friend's birthday after dinner party! It's definitely a different vibe and I can appreciate a karaoke feel without the fear of actually singing in front of people. However, being in a room with tables and some folks up and dancing and others not, it does feel a bit weird and constricted. Don't get me wrong, my friends and I still had fun but I think it would be great to have an open mic for real karaoke as a part of the vibe. I understand you can rent a room for specific karaoke but the outside space just feels odd hahaha The drinks were good and strong though and loved the bar tenders as they were amazing and sweet and quick and funny! Made the experience better! All in all, it was an interesting spot but I probably wouldn't go back if all I did was sit and drink with loud music as I'd rather be up and dancing. read more

I fell for the IG videos and it did certainly live up to the hype. My sister and I came to Off The Record on a Saturday night, I made a reservation since I wasn't sure how busy it would be but it wasn't necessary for just us two. The servers were a bit slow in greeting us/taking our drink order and I do wish they have better cocktail options but overall it was ok. When we first got there around 7/8pm it was super tame but the action picked up as the night got later. They have music videos playing throughout the main room and handed out microphones and lights for props. They played a mix of old school pop and hip hop while we were there like 90s/00s vibes. It's definitely great for a big group like birthdays or bachelorette parties. For just two I'd say it's alright. I would for sure come back here with a bigger party for a night out & maybe even do the shot slide next time. read more

Odd. So kinda of karoke bar where no one actually sings individually but it's more of a group sing along. Okay dig it. Songs are normal being along; lots of variety. They hand out fake microphones sparingly and selectively. We didn't seem to fit the bill for one. We came in at 11:45, they close at 1....but they flipped on the lights on at 12:15 and start cleaning up.....bar full of people. So that was a buzz kill.....all the vampires retreated to the bar next door for the evening. Drinks were okay, took a long time to get served. Probably would not return but worth a try. read more

Overall, it's a great concept, a fun place, and the service is good for the most part. The servers are friendly and responsive. Unfortunately, there are a couple of things that fell short. More than half of the songs they play don't have lyrics displayed on the TVs, which makes it difficult to actually sing along. The light wands are another issue. About half of them don't work or out of battery or just broken. The one shown in my picture happened to be from a group where I gathered the ones that did work, but many of the others were broken. The drinks are pretty good, and the themed cocktail cups are a nice touch. They don't serve food here, which was a bit surprising. Also, there's a cover charge to get in fyi (they did wave it for us when asked). The parking is a challenge too. read more

I had the opportunity to check out Off the Record on opening night. They've really done an amazing job revamping the space inside a historic building. Everything is colorful and high-energy, from the nooks filled with disco balls to the cocktails in a variety of cool glasses. The singalong format is fun and a great concept for a night out. I think Off the Record will be a successful addition to the downtown Phoenix nightlife scene. read more

We celebrated a Moms' Night Out at Off the Record and had a fantastic time! We sang, laughed, and enjoyed drinks well into the evening. I ordered the Highway to Hell cocktail, and it was delicious, not overly sweet, just the right balance of flavor. The atmosphere and aesthetics were amazing, creating a fun and lively vibe. Karaoke bar with fake mics. What's the point? I thought it would be a group sing along and everyone would have real mics. Feels like false advertising. They don't even come up as a karaoke bar on Apple Maps, should have taken that as a hint. Won't be back, just a regular bar basically with super loud music. read more

We had a great time at this new sing along bar near Roosevelt! We weren't 100 percent sure what to expect but it seemed like fun was the main item on the menu and it definitely was. At first it was surprising that the mics were props but after thinking about hundreds of drunken amplified voices in sort of unison, it made more sense. Everybody is singing and having a good time, drinks are flowing, props and bright lights and a very social atmosphere make It easy to meet new people and definitely with a visit. read more

This is not a karaoke bar.. that should be clear. They're just playing music videos with subtitles and the microphones don't actually function (on purpose), at least play the instrumentals. It seems very misleading on instagram. Not impressed. It's just a bar w/ mediocre music. Would not go again. The drink I had was fine. read more

This place has a lot of potential. The staff was amazing, 10 out of 10 and the atmosphere was good overall. However, halfway through the night, my guest and I started to feel bored. The music selection had no real flow or direction. The only way to request songs was to walk up to the DJ, and a lot of the music played was unfamiliar. The drinks were good and fairly priced, though I wouldn't describe them as "strong" like some reviews have mentioned. That said, this place really could become something special with a few improvements. Making song requests easier, displaying lyrics on the TVs, and hosting themed nights could make a huge difference. Sitting there not knowing the music or lyrics defeats the purpose of singing along. Overall, it was fun at first, but the novelty wore off a little too quickly. read more

I love this new downtown phx bar!!!! The service was great, and the drinks were even better! We tried a few different drinks, Highway to Hell was my personal favorite. Three women set out for First Friday expecting art galleries. Instead, we accidentally found performance art... starring ourselves. We wandered into Off the Record with absolutely no idea what it was, and within minutes we were belting out songs, dancing like no one was watching (thankfully), and laughing harder than we have in ages. It's the kind of place that convinces perfectly reasonable adults they suddenly belong on a world tour. The staff deserves a standing ovation. They kept the energy high, the drinks flowing, and somehow made everyone in the room feel like the headliner. If you're looking for a polished, dignified evening... keep walking. We were there on a Saturday night and the place was pretty busy but with a lot of fun people singing at the top of their lungs. There is a good mix of people and ages. Fun hats, lights and dancing all night long. We have already told at least 5 groups about this place and that they have to try it. The drinks were great and decent prices. You can lay low and enjoy the vibe or get up, dance and sing all night long and it will be a fun time. We will be moving this into our rotation. read more

The drinks are so good and strong. The service is amazing all the bartenders are incredible nice. The glasses the drinks come in are super cool and match the name of the drinks (which are all named and themed after famous songs). The bar itself is super cool and a fun vibe. Went to Off the Record on opening night and it did not disappoint! The drinks were amazing, the energy was incredible, and it was so fun singing along to all the songs all night long.
