Great time & good food! Although we had a lot of fun with live music and the food was really good the drinks were AWFUL. If you get anything other than a beer or a shot you won't even taste any alcohol. We actually sent a Gin & Tonic back and our waitress said "This is the third drink I've had to return" and she said she didn't want to return it because the person making the drinks was getting mad. Pretty sad when even the servers know how bad the drinks are. That said, we'll go back to enjoy the food and music but we're only getting shots or beer since it's pretty tough for even that bartender to mess up. This is one of my favorite restaurants with live music. I've been here probably a dozen times this year and really appreciate that they feature local cover bands and artists. It's always a fun atmosphere. They offer a good selection of beer, wine, and American cuisine (pizza, wings, salad, burgers). I also like that there is usually no cover charge since it's a restaurant/pub, though there are occasional cover charges for special events like New Year's Eve. The staff is very nice and attentive. Parking can be a challenge, as it's located in the CityScape development and the restaurant validates parking for up to two hours only. read more

Copper Blues was such a fun spot and the perfect place to eat before heading to the comedy show. We had dinner at the restaurant beforehand and ordered the filet bites along with the Long Island iced tea that came out in a trash can our server brought it out and joked, "get ready to get trashed," which made the whole experience even more fun. The food and service were both great, and the atmosphere is such a cool place to hang out and enjoy the night. One tip, don't forget to get your parking ticket validated at the reception booth before you leave. Definitely a great spot for dinner, drinks, and a fun night out. read more

My mom and I had such a great dinner at Copper Blues! First off--the wings. Absolutely amazing, perfectly cooked, and totally delicious. And the live music? Insane. The entertainer sounded just like Chris Stapleton, and he kept the whole place energized. Seriously, don't forget to tip your entertainer--this guy earned it! The drinks were super Instagram-worthy, and even my mocktail was surprisingly unique. Not your basic "just juice" situation--really flavorful and fun to sip on. Shoutout to the host, who was incredibly sweet and welcoming. The interior and ambience are dope AF. They had the football game playing on a giant screen right by this really nice booth that faced the stage, which made the whole experience even better. The vibes were just immaculate. My only disappointment: not many gluten-free options when it came to food and especially desserts. I really wish they had more variety there. BUT overall, I'd still recommend this place. Our family and I went to this location because Spelman and Morehouse send off for our children heading off to college next week or new, current students & alumni. I've never been here but we were looking for a dinner location before the Lisa Lisa concert. It wasn't too bad until the band started playing then it got way too loud to have a decent conversation. The service was quick and our server was nice but if I'm being honest the food was mediocre for the price point. The drinks were mid too. We got a margarita that was overly sweet. I guess I was thinking I could get dinner but it is pretty much bar food and more appetizers like than dinner options. The wings were just ok but the nachos were pretty good. I guess it's ok place if you want to hang and listen to live music and just want to snack on appetizers. But I wouldn't choose this place as a dinner option. Had a fun night at Copper Blues! They validate parking if you park in the parking garage. The server and hostess were super friendly and attentive. The drinks and food were surprisingly really good! We ordered wings, shrimp, elote cauliflower and nachos. My favorite was the shrimp!! I feel like food is hit or miss at these places but we were all really happy with the drinks and appetizers we ordered. There was supposed to be a live band but they didn't start until around 9 this particular night and I guess they were supposed to start earlier. I think the overall 3.7 star rating is pretty spot on, but I'll give it a 4, since Yelp won't let you go in smaller increments. I've been wanting to try this chain for a while now and finally convinced myself to stop by after seeing some happy hour menu photos posted. Well, it was disappointing when I got there and had to ask for a happy hour menu, only to find it is waaaay smaller than the menu drink and food HH choices in previously posted photos. Only drinks on HH, no food and the selection wasn't even really that good. I sat at the bar and at least the bartender was very friendly and accommodating. Their normal menu lists all the beers they have, but doesn't give any description of what each one is. I mentioned this to the bartender and she offered to describe and help with anything I wanted. Still would be very annoying looking up each one on my phone if the bar was busy and a server didn't have the time to be as helpful. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and substituted the chips for French fries, which is also kind of annoying. A burger should always come with fries, not chips...it's obviously a tactic to upsell. The inside of the restaurant is very cool, with lots of various seating options. The layout has multiple tiers to the seating to help guests have a great view of the live entertainment. There wasn't any live music when I was there for happy hour and the place was very dead. Not really anything special during the happy hour timeframe, but probably worth checking out when there is an actual live band or comedian. read more

This is a great place to come for a good variety of drinks and good live music. My favorite thing to get was the steak bites but when I came this last time I found out they're no longer on the menu. Fortunately, I heard a rumor that they might be coming back soon. I went with the wings tho slash time because there was apparently an event downtown and they were only offering a limited menu. I went on a Thursday night for live band karaoke and had a blast, just watching, I didn't want to torture anyone with my singing. Everyone that went up was incredible. When I first got there a comedy show was letting out so it was super busy in the hallway, but the restaurant had room available. The service was great, the waitress was super attentive. While downtown, this is always a great place to go. It's very upbeat and right in the heart of the government and sports area in downtown Phoenix. We are out-of-towners and had tickets to Stand Up Live next door. Though we didn't know what to expect at Copper Blues, we were pleased once we stepped through the door. Ambiance was very nice. The night's musician was already on stage, he had a great set, we enjoyed his music selection & crowd play. I checked this place out a couple days ago and got THREE beers and somehow my pending charges is $75. Idk what sketchy stuff is going on but I do not recommend. Their menu also states that adding steak to nachos was $5 on the menu, however when my friend was charged, it was $8 on the tab. Lastly, as a bartender, learn how to serve a beer. The pro's to Copper Blues is it is attached to the comedy club Stand Up Live, so you can eat and walk over to a show. It is on the second floor so the people watching is amazing. I would recommend sitting in the bar by the open windows (not in the summer! LOL). The food and drinks are very expensive and pretty mediocre. It seems like it is a pretty party place on most nights as well. If you want to be close to "dinner and a show" try it out. If you want a good meal try one of the many area restaurants and walk back to the show! read more

The wings had just the right amount of zest, and the drink was refreshingly balanced. The security guy upstairs, where it's connected to the comedy hall, was super friendly, which added to the bar/night club vibe. This restaurant and the comedy club are connected. I found out you can take the CB's food into the club, just not drinks. It makes for a nice evening. The other items on the menu also looked good. So this was our first time here we were actually pregaming for Fluffy next door at Stand Up live. We asked for a table for 6 and we're immediately seated, we were still waiting on our other party but my husband and I had wanted to start with drinks and appetizer... great right? Not so much about 20 mins pass and we were finally able to flag down one of the girls that was just standing around chatting amongst themselves. When I asked who is our waitress I was given a snooty look and told I'll let someone know and they walked away. About another 10 mins roll by and a waitress came asked for our drinks and we ordered the pretzel bites. The remainder of our party showed and she was on top of it. The pretzels came out piping hot and were actually pretty good, the band was also good. We ordered our food my husband and I ordered the burger it was pretty good as well. My biggest complaint was the waitstaff. All these girls standing around talking no one cared that we were wanting to be served... I get our entire party wasn't there but we we had wanted to order and to be given attitude when asking for help was like wtf! My sister and I came into Copper Blues for a bite to eat before the Paramore concert. When we arrived it was relatively empty, just one other group in the bar area where we ate, and a few groups in the other dining area where the stage is. When we arrived there was a band playing, two men, and they excellent! Their performance and songs were what made the experience for us. I wish we had gotten there names, but we left them a tip before we left because they were that good. We had never been here before, and didn't have any expectations, we just wanted some drinks and a little food to share. We ended up arriving during happy hour, so drinks and appetizers were discounted! We ordered a couple cocktails, the hummus plate and a chicken quesadilla. The drinks were good, but the hummus plate was great!! So flavorful with all of the olives, tomatoes, cucumber and hummus to dip, it was soo good! The quesadilla was also better than I thought it would be. The only thing that was lacking was service, it took a little bit for the waitress to initially take our order. Pretty disappointing. First off, they're crazy expensive for what you get and the place was 90% empty at 6:45 pm. I had two pork belly tacos (15.95) but it was small very dry chunks of pork belly and unlike any pork belly I've ever had. I ordered without aioli but it came with aioli. Told the waitress and she basically argued with me about it. I ended up eating them because she convinced me that the aioli was made with sour cream and not mayo. I really don't like having to explain myself to a waitress. My wife had street corn cauliflower ($15.95) Menu said baked but it looked steamed. It was literally cauliflower for that price. Copper Blues has a great vibe (especially on Thursdays during karaoke.) I'm not usually a big karaoke night girl, but at one point Copper Blues was voted "the best karaoke in Arizona" because of its stellar patrons and live band. The cocktails are solidly just okay (and a little overpriced,) but they're strong enough. Happy hour is 3pm - 6PM daily with $12 cocktails and $6 beers. Service is a little slow, and they often mess up my check because of the high turnover rate for the staff. The girls are pretty, and the atmosphere is popping, though, so I still give it 4 stars. read more
