We made it out on Thursday for a rare date night at Laughs in the Lounge! I had come out one other time in the same space to see comedian Shane Mauss, who is hilarious! Walter Studios is beautifully decorated with stunning artwork, each room exuding its own unique vibe. The comedy took place in their cozy lounge. Chase Harter took the stage as our host, and we were doomed to laugh until our faces hurt. Like a mailman, he delivered! (I just made that up, haha) Honestly, all the stand up comics were amazing, big props to them all for their talent and sharing their humor. The show itself was free, but donations were encouraged and they absolutely deserved it! By the end, my cheek muscles were begging for mercy, but honestly, it was worth the pain! Laughter truly is the best medicine! I would absolutely love to come back for future comedy shows! read more

My favorite bar to dance in Phoenix by far! Stopped by on 7/25/25 Friday for the first time around midnight. There is a small, paved parking lot adjacent to the building with a large gravel parking lot connected to it a bit further. Thankfully, I was able to find a spot in the gravel lot easily at this hour, and there MIGHT be curbside parking in the nearby residential areas. After parking, you have to walk around the building toward the front patio (the side facing the street). The inside and outside were spacious and crowded. I was impressed by the versatility of this venue. There was an event venue room (there is a ticket stand at the immediate left upon entering the building, as this event), cocktail lounge seating area, dark room with blue floor for dancing, and various other decorated rooms for chatting and drinking. This was our first time coming to this venue. This venue is a bar/restaurant and concert venue. The venue does not interfere with normal business so you can still come to enjoy the drinks while not attending a concert. It was a big venue; clean and well set up. The staff was nice and friendly and the customer service was great. We had a great time and would definitely come again. read more

They have changed over the few years they have been open, and I miss the ability to walk in and get one of the better salads and fried chicken sandwiches in the downtown Phoenix area. However, going to shows here is a blast. It is a small venue, maybe a few hundred, which gives no bad location to stand. The booths are comfortable, and on a nice day it is great to sit outside. Since the change is service to only shows and events I have had to go up to the counter to order and grab all food, but that is not a big deal. Hope they continue to draw good acts! read more

This is a really unique and eclectic music/event venue! I came here tonight for a lecture on transformation and I've also been here for a few ALT sessions. There's a nice size parking lot which I really appreciate for downtown haha. They also serve food and drinks here and there's a lot of cool art and themed rooms. Love that they have their own parking lot, at 1am on a Saturday night it was only 1/3 full. They also have events every month. This was a normal night, main room and main bar was empty, the bouncer was very nice and helpful and told me about the other rooms. Restrooms are at one end, the Blue Room is at the opposite end. The Blue Room has a DJ, dance floor and bar and was EDM. The side rooms are more for conversation. There is a trippy mushroom room, and there is also a library classy room. A must-see melting pot of food, art, and music. Walter Studios is one of my favorite places to visit on a Friday or Saturday night. It is a fantastic venue to bring friends to as it has gorgeous and interactive art installations, hidden rooms, multiple stages, late night bites, and more! To make the experience more enjoyable, they employ a variety of performers who you may see dressed up in outlandish costumes. The employees along with the guests are super friendly so don't be shy! They have themed events such as the Disco night I attended earlier this year where my friends and I danced the night away to Bee Gees and ABBA. Typically, the artists that play here are techno artists. The headlining artists have entrance fees with tickets available online. However, if you are strapped for cash or not interested in the artist of the night, you can enter Walter Studios and hang out in the other parts of the bar. The main stage area is ticketed. It has the most bathrooms inside and the best performers. Another huge positive for me of this place are the clean bathrooms. Not many venues of this size have clean bathrooms so this is a huge bonus. Can't speak to the cocktails or food because I haven't had many but definitely will try in the future. So put on your best outfit - something fun, flirty, and artistic and head on over to Walter's. read more

Cool vibe love the local artist, the vibe was great. Jazz on Sundays was nice, but something about the morning brunch time had a cold atmosphere to it. The servers were nice but unfortunately the drinks and food were subpar. Chilaquiles was just chips... with bean scraps and salsa scraps lightly sprinkled on, that's just nachos or just chips to be honest really disappointed in that. The michelada was watered down and a agin the Tajín rim looked like poor execution lightly thrown on the rim... and looked like someone with wet hands wiped it all off or already licked it. Rating is only for Brunch. Went on a Sunday at 1030 and sat at the bar. Was greeted and informed that it is self seated and that orders will be taken at the bar. Not sure if that changes after 1130 when the DJ starts playing. Apparently Yoga was happening in the studio area at 10am. Not busy at all when they open, but once yoga is over, it gets busy. The vibe is very hipster. Staff was excellent and attentive. Food was DELICIOUS! everything we had was delicious. The Belgium Waffles was a little soggy. I prefer mine to have a crunchy outer layer. The toppings was what made it delicious. The whip with the candied pecans and blueberries was out of this world. The Midwest portion was huge. Lots of peppers and lots of sausage. The sausage gravy was damn flavorful. The Breakfast Sammy was my favorite. What makes it different is the jalapeño aioli that made it one of the best breakfast Sammy I've ever had. Two thick big slices of bacon was icing on the cake. You have a choice of tater tots or potatoes. I definitely would go with the tater tots. Those things have soooo much flavor. You won't regret it. The chicken Sammy was juicy, tender, and seasoned different (in a good way). I had a small bite from a friend. And now the drinks. Yellow jacket- boy was that good. It had some spice from jalapeños(no chunks of jalapeños) just the spice. Easy to drink. Maybe a little too easy. Watermelon spritz- one word refreshing. I went here for a house music event, and while I think the venue was great, I had a terrible experience with one of the bartenders. I have been bartending for almost 20 years, and I've never been so insulted and spoken to the way I was this past weekend. My friend and I ordered two vodka and club sodas, and the bartender barely poured any vodka in the cup. I was watching him the entire time being distracted by talking to the second bartender, who completely ignored us for about 10 minutes. I said to my friend, "there's barely any vodka in that drink", and the bartender, who was pouring overheard me. He proceeds to say "I'm a professional,, bit$$!" I didn't know how to react to that so my reaction was reflected in his tip. Unreal. read more

Interesting place. Decent size parking lot (half was paved). Only two, single-stall bathrooms, although unisex. Main bar located just inside the doors, and another inside a private venue room, although they couldn't mix us any drinks despite the alcohol behind the counter. Although they had a beer selection, wish they had a dark option. Great DJ and sound system. Wish we were able to sample some food but all we could get were taquitos and chips and salsa, which I'm not even sure if they were made there. read more

First off, as a music venue and bar, this place is great. Bar service is always top notch at the main bar and the Blue Bar. Music is always excellent. No complaints there. However, I came in today (Sunday) for brunch around noon and was sitting next to a booth with four people that the server came to check on 3 or 4 times and completely ignored me. Nnot once did the server approach me and ask if I wanted as much as a glass of water. I was there to eat, and I had a limited amount of time. It It would've been nice to at least grab a quick bite and enjoy a cup of coffee. A note for the staff: if you see someone sitting in your restaurant, approach them and be hospital. We came here for brunch one day and were looking for the good vibes, so we rolled through for some musically enhanced goodness. Our service was very slow, but I don't think we would have noticed it if we had come with a group as most others had. It's a great spot to meet up with a good selection of big tables. I ordered a very tasty grapefruit mimosa and my partner got a michelada and drip coffee. When we were able to order our meals, my very Midwest partner felt obligated to get the Midwest Hash. I adore bagel and lox, so of course I'm getting the Best Dang Bagel & Lox! That Midwest Hash was eaten surprisingly quickly. Five stars for that! My b&l was good but I wish the bagel were toasted so it was a bit more firm. Looking now at the menu, it says that there was a chopped egg on top, but I don't recall any egg at all on there. That being said, it still tasted pretty good. People watching here is so fun. Everyone's in a good mood and wearing their favorite, current fits. Perfectly crispy and lightly seasoned waffle fries. I don't like aïoli so my server brought ketchup and barbecue. The bread served with the hummus was perfectly crispy and still chewy and soft, the hummus was very flavorful, not too oily, not too dry. Loved the pumpkin seeds and seasoning that added texture and flavor but didn't make it too salty at all. I took it home and ate it for days later. The carrot cake bites were fantastic; moist and spongy, not too dense or sweet, I just wish I had asked for a little bit extra of that cream cheese frosting and pecans this place has great art, comfy booths, tons of dancing room, a nice shaded patio and epic art everywhere. The food here is excellent. Good cocktails. I decided to take my family out to lunch as I have been here and love the food. HOWEVER..... got a big surprise whe we sat out side to eat, and there was a table next to us smoking weed like crazy. I was so embarrassed as I had an 8 year old grandchild with me. We quickly went inside to order and I got to thinking,!how rude it was of these people, and how irresponsible of the owners , that didn't have some sort of indication that pot smoking is allowed outside. When I told the waitress, she said they allow it. She then told the manager, who was ver gracious, they discounted the food and gave my grandchild a free dessert. Bottom line... you can't just "allow" pot be smoked out on your outdoor patio. You need a permit! It's against the law. I believe people should be free to smoke whatever they want. But make no mistake, not everyone smokes pot, nor do they want to introduce a child to it. Put up some signs!!!!!! read more

I never heard about Walter Studios until they were listed as the host for the 2023 Girls Rock Showcase. Girls Rock is a summer camp program where young girls form a band, write a song and culminate with a local performance. Since my daughter is so amped to perform here, we decided to take advantage of the movie night tonight where they showed a screening of 'School of Rock'. I was surprised at how small the crowd was for what a nice space it was! The studios had a popcorn machine and treats for movie watchers. The building was well manicured and staff were so friendly. While we didn't eat from the kitchen at this event, I look forward to trying some food this weekend during the showcase. Now that I am in parent mode, I am thrilled to see such a great space partner up with the community on these types of events. read more

It was raining, and in Phoenix, when you hit the breaks you slide a bit. We were actually looking for a place to have brunch with friends. My husband and I walked in. The space was not filled with people, but it was inviting with art. I thought, food is art! We sat down, ordered, and Jonathan took us on a tour of the place. It is truly an amazing space. The food was tasty and the service...amaze-balls! I brought friends today. They LOVED IT!! We met one of the concept owners. He was humble and grateful that we were there.
