This is a small, intimate bar located right off of McDowell Street with parking on the side. I would always come by and take photos of the murals outside & enjoy coming in whenever our I'm with my close knit friends or if someone put together something. It's just a real good vibe. Last stop was during the holidays for a special event, and it was perfect as everybody was really festive, & celebrating the night. Live DJ and then there's also an outdoor space. As far as food, there aren't too many options, but I did have this steak fried rice, as I realized I hadn't had much to eat prior to coming in and hanging out with friends. My party and I were discriminated against by the black owner Rasheda because we were white. As soon as we walked in we noticed everyone was black which was great for us because we have black clients and business partners. Rasheda approached us and told us that we can not come in. It's a private club. I hung out and asked the next black customers that were walking in if they been there before and their aware that the club was a private club. They stated never been there before. However they were welcomed to stay. I think that the equal opportunity board will be hearing about this shortly. Good job Rasheda. I've heard about this place a while ago but never really thought to go visit. My friend & I were in the area. So, we decided to finally go check it out. It's much smaller than what we imagined. It's more of an intimate setting type of place. But, it was a vibe. They placed old r&b, hip hop/rap songs like OutKast "She Lives in My Lap" & Mystikal "Here I Go," just to name a few songs. Though, this is a small intimate setting, I do suggest you dress up and look nice. This place doesn't give off the vibe of a dive bar/sports bar. It has a luxurious feel to it. So, don't go in there looking bummy like my friend & I did lol (we had just left a sports bar). They had a fun drink menu! Many of the drinks were named after popular songs. I ordered the "Hotline Bling," which was like a spiked Bellini and my friend ordered the "Blow Job," lol you're supposed to take the shot with no hands! That was fun lol my friend did so like the champ she is! I have a video but she probably doesn't want me to share that lmfao Anyways, they don't have any food, but they do have a vending machine, in case you get the munchies. We came close tho closing. Let me start with the Boom Boom Room is an intimate spot that plays good music and has chill vibes. There is no food sold here, but the guest were allowed to bring food to her section. Now... my biggest problem with the BBR was the bartender BRI. She was the most unprofessional, mean, bad attitude, that I have ever witnessed at an establishment and I'm appalled by her behavior. Bri was snappy when she was asked any questions often rolling her eyes and walking away while we were talking to her. Despite the guest tipping her very well, BRI continued treating the guest poorly. My friend celebrated her 40th birthday there and looked sad the entire night. Her day was ruined bc of miscommunication on what was being charged and how the bartenders were to execute it. The alcohol was watered down, like literally the Jack Daniels tasted like it was diluted with water. If you drink jack, you know it's potent. A shot of it went down like a Snapple. I playfully mentioned it to Bri in which she responded "I don't know what you tasted no it's not watered down!" she walked off rolling her eyes. This is bad business, and I won't return or recommend the spot if BRI is bartending there. The other two bartenders were nice; However I was so taken back by BRI'S attitude that I didn't get there names. read more
