Final stop of our downtown Phoenix double-date was Diablo Rooftop. Perched on top of the Cambria Hotel with wide city views, tons of space, and a full-on club vibe. High-tops, lounge seating, DJs, and IDs checked at the door. We grabbed one last round and shared some fries, then e-scooted back to the hotel to end the night. This was our least favorite stop of the night, but at this point, we were wearing down quick. The loud club atmosphere wasn't our vibe. If I went back, I would plan timing for sunset views and check out more of their food options. read more

Not the best. I went on a night where it was a concert and the band was horrible. I was a bit shocked. I was charged $40 to listen to a GarageBand yelling through a mic. They also mixed up my bill and told me a huge total where I only purchased a few drinks. It just seems a bit of a money pit plan on getting ripped off if you could go there again. Great experience! Even if you aren't hungry, go for a drink and the beautiful view. The aguachile ribeye was way overcooked but I devoured it anyway. The sauce on it was so good, I would eat that with a spoon. The corn tortilla quesadilla on the side with the sliced avocado goes well with the sauce too. The Diablo fries with birria were ridiculously huge and great for sharing. Very well seasoned fries, loads of tender birria, and a very flavorful, slightly spicy sauce. The servers and other staff were attentive and very friendly. On a Saturday afternoon, they had live music and later in the evening there was a dj and a dance floor. Upon entering, there are a couple of security guys to check bags and ID. They were chill and cool. After ID check, I somehow dropped my cardholder while trying to put it back in my purse and didn't notice. One of the guards picked it up and was being funny. He stood right next to me holding it waiting to see when I would notice. It took me a minute to realize lol. Thank you to him for returning it! The rooftop is a huge space with many tables, lounge seating and high tops along the edge. The view was okay. It's probably pretty during the sunset. The place wasn't really my kinda vibe though. I was ready to migrate to the next spot right after we got there but we grabbed a table and had a drink first. My friend also ordered fries. After we finished our drinks, we went to the next spot. The hubby and I were invited to a friend's birthday celebration at Diablo Rooftop bar, on top of the Cambria Hotel. We were part of a large group, so we weren't sure what to expect, but luckily they were able to accommodate us all at one table, which was nice. Our server was great and came around often to make sure everyone was good! The food and drinks were good, and they had a decent amount of menu items to choose from. Best part IMO, is the view of downtown! ! My only complaint would be the chairs. They had 12 chairs around the table, but because of the style of the chairs, they were touching side by side and had to be pulled all the way out to get into them, so it was a bit awkward. read more

The service was great as well. The food was yummy! For starters we got the nachos with Carne asada, then I got 3 street tacos carne asada, my man got the diablo burger that came with a side of fries, then also got the buffalo wings, then for dessert got the churros we got those togo but I tried one and it was goood!! It has chocolate filling inside, super yummy! Everything was amazing. Loved it all. I also got their strawberry lemonade and my man got the tower station beer on draft. I recently visited this rooftop bar downtown and had a fantastic experience! The drinks were excellent, with the Hibiscus Margarita standing out as a real treat. The vibe is chic and relaxed, and it's worth noting that the bar is cashless, so make sure to bring a card. One of the few rooftop bars that Phoenix has. It is located on top of Cambria Hotel in Downtown Phoenix. Came here without a reservation on a Saturday night but it wasn't too busy so I got seated pretty fast! The view was very pretty and it was hard not to take a million pictures because the city lights were so beautiful! Drinks and were pretty pricey. Got a cocktail "Playa Azul' (Malibu, Titos, Blue Curacao, Pineapple, Pamplemousse, lime) and it cost $17! It was refreshing, sweet, tropical, and had a kick to it but it wasn't worth the price. Food was expensive too. Got some nachos, which was $16 and was nothing special. Wish they used real cheese and not just nacho cheese sauce. It'd be nice if the chips were crispier and more fresh.. not worth the price. 6/10 Got the NY steak in medium rare ($34) - it was marinated well and pretty tender but wish there were more pieces for the price. My cousins and I decided to try out a new restaurant in the area and landed at Diablo Rooftop! The only thing we regret is getting there too early... Our expectations were definitely met as we came in expecting good food and drinks. Most of us ordered the tacos and a margarita. I cannot speak for everyone else but for me, I really enjoyed my food. I was able to pick and choose 3 different tacos for $16. I choose a carne asada, shrimp, and al pastor taco. I will say they were delicious especially what seemed to be homemade tortillas, but they were TINY for it being $16 and no side dish. For my drink, I got a strawberry margarita and it was SO GOOD! It even came with a complimentary lemon drop... (I think this was a one night promo). The atmosphere was fun, vibey, and great for a summer night out. I would 100% recommend if you are coming in for an easy going casual night as the service was a little relaxed and unhurried. If your looking more of the bar atmosphere I would recommend getting here later in the night arouond 11pm... We got there around 8:30 and it was pretty dead, as the night went on more and more people were coming in. read more

This review is for the restaurant that is off the hotel lobby of Cambria. It's a trendy little spot with floor to ceiling windows and even though it was super hot outside, it was nice and cool inside. The bar was under construction when I was here but the crew was so silent, there was no disturbance. My server was attentive and very clean. She kept the place spotless and came by to quickly remove empty creamer and sugar wrappers and napkin bands. The breakfast menu is a mix of Mexican and American fare. I settled on red chilaquiles and a side of potatoes. The chilaquiles were a blend of crispy and soft tortillas and the sauce was decent, not spicy. The scrambled eggs were perfectly fluffy. The potatoes had a nice crisp on the outside but soft on the inside and were accompanied with peppers and onions that gave it a great flavor. Honestly what a bummer compared to last time. We went here to celebrate one of our friend's birthday and it was not a great experience. We were there maybe two hours totally before leaving it was so bad. For starters they don't take cash. Which is dumb. And they didn't play any good music. Only towards later in the night did they play any real music like Chris brown or any of that. But even then it was eh. Nothing old school. Our waitress was horrendous. She was the most inattentive server I've ever had. She stood by the bar most of the time and we kept having to get up and order with her at the bar since she would never come over. Since we had 6 people there was an auto 22% gratuity which is insane. It's only listed very tiny on the menu and not even listed on the website and I don't believe I saw any signs stating the auto gratuity. 22% for what? No service that's what. I tipped her zero since we got NO SERVICE. The food was mid at best. Not that great. Not very flavorful and overpriced. Don't think I'll come back. We've been to this bar a number of times through the years, and it's had a few different incarnations. Diablo's food is, by far, my favorite! Our server, Cesar, was spot on. They were super busy, but he set expectations about the wait on the food, and he kept the drinks coming. They did have a two-hour max on table use, which made us a little nervous when our food hadn't arrived after the first hour had passed, but the food finally came and they got us out in just under two hours without anyone feeling rushed. Food-wise we only got appetizers, but the ceviche was 10/10 - fresh-tasting, chilled, and just a hint of spice. The nachos were a little fiery, but nice and crunchy. The Diablo Fries had a little kick, but were tasty. Lastly, I didn't personally try it but the burger got a good review from our group, too. The views from this bar are ! There's live music or a DJ - sometimes both. Lots of room to dance and plenty of seating to lounge, eat and drink, or just people watch. This bar also hosts a range of people from newly-minted 21YOs to elderly traveling couples, and everyone in between. There's no dress code, so you'll see jeans and Ts or people in their cocktail-best. A few things to know: - Make reservations for the weekend if you can, especially if you're a larger group. - Plan to wait for your food. - For groups they require a single card to be put on file before ordering (unless you're charging it to your room). - They don't split checks. - Their auto-gratuity for groups is 22%. - It's a rooftop, it's windy. Came for a friend's surprise birthday hangout for evening drinks. Arrived around 6:20pm-ish and allowed for us to catch the perfect sunset off the rooftop. The outdoor patio is spacious and has an area that's more covered with chairs and spots to sit down and also some areas that you can stand (which you see my friends and me doing). The drinks are good (not amazing) but I'd say they were alright... what makes up for it is the view you get of the city. Truly beautiful. Moderately priced and a some nice and unique cocktail offerings. We did have a dedicated server but we had to go find them a few times, didn't feel like there was a ton of proactive customer service (just our experience, but we were a large party so perhaps that had to do with it). The eats are the basic bar foods, it didn't strike me as sit down for dinner, it is the rooftop that you go for. They have water in a large jug that you can pour yourself, some clear plastic cups available next to it for you to serve. Go for the rooftop and HH cocktails, that is what I would recommend. read more

Diablo Rooftop.. What is up with all the rules? I remember when this was just From the Rooftop bar and it was a way more easy going experience. As a downtown local I don't want to have to pressured to get food that is not going to wow me. My boyfriend and I stopped by here before a dinner reservation at Sottise across the street. We wanted to grab a drink or two and enjoy the views and get some photos. I checked their instagram which said they were open and did have a live DJ beginning at 8pm. We arrived there at about 6pm and there was about 4 guests in total. Meanwhile there were over 7 servers waiting for guests or to be cut. The hostess did let us know that tables where the nice views were are for guests looking to eat and open a tab with a server. We went to the bar to order a drink and vibe, the aux music was good very trendy popular music playing. Luckily they had misters going on otherwise it would be miserable. I ordered an Carajillo which the bartender let me know they did not have anymore liquor 43 and offered me an espresso martini instead. I accepted and asked to swap for Don Julio Repo. My boyfriend ordered a Old fashion which he enjoyed but was very strong. As you can tell the color of my espresso martini and overall depth of the drink was not very good. The cup it was served in, it was very warm like it came fresh out the dishwasher. Ultimately making my drink lukewarm which is not ideal in this weather. Especially for each drink to be $16-$21. I told my boyfriend to get some photos of me sitting at one of the tables, Which I didn't think would be an issue since we did give the bar our money, tipped and to be fair the rooftop was empty. I would understand if it was popping and people were getting sat left and right it wouldn't be okay for us to sit at an empty table. A server walked over and gave us a menu. I let her know politely we are just getting a drink or two and soaking in the views. She told us the tables on this end are for opening a tab only and we had to move to the end of the Rooftop. Having to sit at the other end of the establishment wouldn't be an issue if there were decent seating options and not a slip n slide on the tile. One of the workers was hosing down the floor where the "free" seats are as the server called it. There is also no misters or fans where the "free" seating is which ended up making it a miserable time. This place definitely needs to be more accommodating and accessible to those who are not wanting to stay around for up to 3 or 4 hours. This info should also be disclosed on their website. Stopped in on a Friday to relax from a busy week. When I say the views and ambiance are amazing! I could sit and stare all day. When I first walked in I had to say excuse me 5 times for this server to talk to me (she was standing within arm's distant) they finally sat me down and things were a bit weird after that. My friend came and we both ordered the same drinks (3rounds) and for some reason each time my drink came out the glass got smaller and smaller it was so weird and no explanation. I didnt complain but asked what was happening and the waitress couldnt explain lol. Brussel sprouts were fire... I give them a B+!
