Came here before a concert since another restaurant was packed. The service was great; our server Andrea was friendly and attentive and did a great job. The whiskey selection is excellent if you're wanting to try something you normally can't get at the store or don't have a bottle of. But the food is a coin flip on being great or being average. The deviled eggs and coconut shrimp were great. The brussel sprouts weren't; we order them extra crispy and they were basically blackened from probably being soaked in oil. The brisket sandwich was lackluster and the beet salad was overly bitter since there were no other greens to balance the bitterness. I'd give it another try since the city view is great. read more

Bruh... I can't believe I forgot to take a picture of my New York Sour... crazy. Anyway, I was on my way to the rooftop bar Eden, but they were closed for a private event. This place was the lclosest thing to the elevator so I peaked in through the window and it looked like a laid back bar restaurant. I walked in to front stand, no one was present, but as soon as I came in the door, I heard a shuffle in the front room and someone immediately got up and came towards my direction and greeted me. Found out his name was Christ; he was laid back, calm, yet friendly and welcoming. I asked for the drink menu and then a few questions then decided to come in. I went to restroom first because I hate getting up after I order. When I walked over to sit at the bar (since I was only In for a drink or two and by myself), I sat and was greeted pretty quickly!! I had the absolute pleasure of dining here this evening with my team from work. It was the second time I'd been in - the first was last week with my brother. Let's start with last week. My brother and I had a comedy show near by at the stand up live and had some time to kill before the show. We were walking around and saw this place, and decided to give it a try. When we walked in around 5:45, the place was almost completely dead inside, so we had our choice of seating. Ultimately, we were sat by the window, overlooking the city. We shared the soft pretzels and single barrel jack daniel's whiskey and both were phenomenal. I was astounded how smooth the whiskey was and was really impressed with the pretzels. Service was great as well - prompt and kind. Our server even made sure we got the $2 off appetizers as we walked in at the end of happy hour. Tonight when I went with my team, the place was HOPPIN. I'm glad we had a reservation, as we were a large group. I ordered the smoked meatloaf, a long with a Shirley Temple. For how busy they were, and how large our group was, I'm really impressed with how well the servers did and how attentive they were - my drink was never empty. The food was SO GOOD. Their BBQ sauce is out. of. this. world. A total must try. The one negative I'll add is this - between the music playing (a very solid playlist, might I add!) and everyone talking, I barely heard a thing tonight lol so that's something to keep in mind. Price wise.... It's a little on the expensive side for me. My meal alone was $24, and that doesn't include the drink. You definitely get what you pay for though - the portions are pretty epic. Went here for dinner while I'm in town. You go up an escalator to get there which was cool, and they have a nice bar. I ordered a side house salad for only $5, and I chose the bourbon glazed salmon. I was expecting to have my salad first as like an appetizer but it came out with my entree. It was very good but I didn't eat much of it because my entree was hot. It wasn't a big piece of fish but it was tasty. (I would have liked a heavier glaze. ) I didn't think I was going to like the mushroom risotto it came with but it was tasty. I liked the vegetables too, especially the carrots! I was full but I ordered creme brûlée to take back to my hotel. It looked mushy but when I ate it later it was delicious!! It was a horrible experience, when we went in the place was semi empty. We put in our drink orders along with the appetizers. When we ordered the food I asked for an update on our food since it had been over an hr. The waitress came out and said our food was on the grill already. 20 minutes passed and still nothing. We ended up canceling our order since we had an event to go to. So another place we tried by our new apartment. We came here on a Monday and the place was not busy. We were seated by the big picture window that faces south. Great view!!! Food: They have a diverse menu, but for the money they have a special (sirloin, filet or Pork Chop) comes with 2 sides. My Sirloin was outstanding cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. I had a house salad and Carrots for my sides. My hubby got the filet special he got the carrots and baked potato which he said was the best baked potato he has gotten in a while. So first let's start with the positives, the food was good. We started off with the win, place, show bourbon flight and an old fashioned. Surprisingly we liked the Calumet 8 year better than the 10 or 15. It was smooth with hints of Vanilla and oak. We also had the coconut shrimp which was also tasty. I Had the glazed salmon with vegetable medley which I was looking forward to all week and my Valentine had the Southwest chicken pasta. The pasta had a chipotle sauce was spicy but not overly spicy served hot. For desert we had the tiramisu which was very rich and delicious. So now why I gave it three stars. We had a reservation for 7:15 and arrived at 7. It was Valentine's Day but they weren't overly busy and I felt like they may have been understaffed. There was no host and after about 10 minutes of waiting I think it was the manager who took us to our seat so it was actually a few minutes early than the reservation. My first impression of the restaurant and bar was I felt it was very classy with a separate tasting room which I think was closed. But when we got to our seat the restaurant that had an upscale feel to it had so many tv's it felt more like a subdued sports bar. While that was not necessarily bad it wasn't what I was expecting. (For a sports bar it would have been underwhelming as that didn't seem to be the vibe for the night anyway). We were given menus but no silverware or napkins were present just two menus and the bar list. The prices weren't bad $55 for the three pour flight and less than $20 for the old fashioned. After about 20 minutes the server came over and asked if anyone had come over yet and when we said not yet, she said she would get us water and started to move away. Before she could slip away we ordered the coconut shrimp and drinks while we were debating on the entrees. The server was pleasant. By the time the drinks and appetizer came out we had been sitting down for about 40 minutes. When she came back she took our order. She was pleasant and smiling for sure. But it was another 30-40 minutes before the entrées came out. The pasta was delicious and well prepared and hot. But the salmon and vegetables seemed like they had been prepared well before because it was luke warm. I work for the fire service so I am used to being late for dinner or eating long after meals are prepared but I didn't expect it from here. The salmon was delicious though and the vegetables were cooked well just not hot and the Rice (mush or whatever it was was only ok). We finished with the tiramisu which was well presented and delicious. By the time we were done it was nearly 2.5 hours which just seemed long. At one point someone had spilled water on the floor on the main route from the entrance to the seating area and numerous people had to walk around it and one woman almost slipped. It was there for almost an hour and not cleaned up. When we finished parking was validated but it still cost because we had been there longer than the validation period. The parking was inexpensive and due to an event downtown it was difficult to find a spot but that isn't on the restaurant. Over all it was a very nice evening with good food and great company but lackluster service. I probably won't return but more because there are so many places to eat downtown, we will try someplace else next time. In summary, good food, friendly staff, slow service. Ordered the old fashion as it comes off the menu. Great selection of bourbon as expected but Disappointed a bourbon room lacks the Crystal clear big block ice cube and the glass was not super clean. Looks like calcium deposits on the glass. We ordered the PBR burger. Messy but tasty. Cooked well. Wife order just a stuffed potato. I recently went to this location on lunch while working at the superior court today. This location advertises lunch specials and we decided to check it out. As we walked in the doors the staff was sitting down.. we showed ourselves to the bar, asking if we could have a seat as we walked in. We at the bar, i ordered a glass of wine priced at 15 bucks a glass. No biggie. The coconut shrimp and i had wanted a fresh veggie and ordered the Brussel sprouts. The coconut shrimp appeared to be frozen. It was very much lack luster. The Brussels were SOGGY Beyond belief. They were literally mush and there was absolutely no way they were prepared within the 8 mins it took them to bring out food out. The were soaked in oil and mush the entire way though. The server never once even bothered to come over to inquire about how our food was, if we even wanted a to go box because we clearly left a full serving of food on the table. This place seems to be a watering hole as they have every whiskey under the sun. They do not seem interested in food service at all-... after receiving my check my wine was priced higher than the menu listed price, and the server still never acknowledged or asked how our meal or food was. Probably because he knew it was trash. Isiah just seemed to be there to collect hours. Our water has zero ice as the ice wells were still empty from the night prior. In January of 2023 we visited this place as a small bar hopping night. We were thoroughly impressed that night. Unfortunately, on December 1, 2023 we visited again and were not met with the same level of service. December 1 we had reservations to celebrate Christmas with some close friends. There was only 4 of us in our group. We arrived and were seated instantly. This was the only positive point of the night. Our server was listed as Amaya on the ticket. I am guessing that Amaya was our actual server because she never introduced herself when coming to the table. She did offer to get us waters as we looked at the menu. About 20 minutes later we received our waters and ordered some cocktails. We probably should have ordered our food at the same time but we weren't quite decided on what we were going to have at that point. Please keep in mind this was at 5:55 PM on a Friday. We understood it would be fairly busy with events going on in downtown Phoenix and the Suns game across the street. About 30 minutes later we finally received our drinks from a totally different waitress. It took another 15-20 minutes for our waitress to arrive to take our order for food. We decided to play it smart and order another drink at the same time knowing we had already been there for almost an hour and only had a single drink and some water. About 20 minutes later our second drinks arrived. One of the party asked for more water and the waitress (not our waitress) said they would be right back. Another 20 minutes passes (yes 40 minutes to get our food order) and the food arrives. The food was not hot in the loosest of senses. Completely disappointed but at this point we are all hungry and irritated so we just ate what we could. Remember the water that was ordered when our second drinks came out? Well that water never arrived. Since I wasn't really drinking my water, I gave it to the other person since she wasn't drinking anything else. About 35 minutes laster our waitress (3rd time in the whole experience) arrives at the table and asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu. Not even asking how our food was or anything. We simply stated that no we were done and wanted the check. She printed it out and started to say she would be back for the cards. I told her not to go anywhere because we had other plans and didn't have time to wait for her to return. We gave her our credit cards to split the bill. She took them to the bar to tally them. It still took another 15 minutes to run the totals and run the cards. Now if you do the math, we were there for 2 hours and 40 minutes for 2 drinks for most of us and some cold food and unacceptable service. Will I visit this place again to give them another chance? NO! I can get bourbon and many other libations in other establishments right around the corner with much better service. read more

While the food is decent, 3/5 times it will come out lukewarm. When you eat this kind of food, hot is ideal. So I've been disappointed by the temp more than once upon delivery. It's nice that the service is "nonintrusive" however, I would call it inattentive. The managers & servers just hangout on the line & chat instead of looking for queues from their tables to do their job & check-in. An empty drink shouldn't be the only reason the server comes to check. For a place that's trying to pass as a fancy bourbon place, I expect to be quality checked after a few bites. I also expect the servers to have a more welcoming personality that doesn't seem like they are inexperienced & unaware of they a they are serving or what they have in the menu. This is a fun place to stop at and struggle with the number of choices there are to select a bourbon or two to drink. Obviously you know going in that you're going to spend some money but you're going to get to try things you can't find in stores or at least test some stuff out that you know could be incredible gifts or bottles to buy later. It's an escalator ride up off of 1st street. Walking inside, you'll see plenty of tables and the bar to hangout. The food is okay and smaller offerings but the snacks aren't a bad thing to have with all the whiskey. The $9 to $10 min for drinks is normal enough with some really tough to find offerings for $50 or more. I would say they could use a happy hour $2 off or a "whiskey Wednesday" type thing to have half priced pours or some sort of special but it's a fun stop for those looking to try some bourbons. The atmosphere of this place was really nice. It's upstairs from another bar/restaurant, the lighting is dim, upscale feel. It felt oddly empty when we arrived, but it was also a Wednesday? My table shared the Brisket Mac and Cheese, Thick Cut Bacon, and Crispy Ribs as appetizers. The bacon is exactly what you want and expect. Thick and seasoned well. The brisket Mac was phenomenal. The ribs came as three on a plate so not much for sharing beyond 2-3 people (we had 5), but the census was they were crisp and well cooked and seasoned. For my main, I went with the New York Strip which was the perfect size and cooked exactly as I prefer. Perfectly juicy and full of flavor and would return in a heart beat to do again. The fries were the perfect crisp, and the slaw, well, they could have held back a few pinches on the vinegar. I would warn if you order don't grab too much at a time as it's potent. I don't personally know that I'd do again as a side. The restaurant overall felt priced right for what we had. The drink selection is vast and also fairly priced. The wings had a delicious flavor just way too much seasoning. The fries were delicious. The salad was good. The only thing with the salad is it said $5 on the menu and they charged us $8. They went in depth on the menu and the freshness of the meats and how they are fantastically smoked and grilled every day. I opted for the Caesar salad side as well and was not disappointed. Very crisp and fresh. All the beers on tap were from State 48 Brewing. I enjoyed a Pilsner and my hubs had a javelina Hefeweizen - both were great ( could be colder). Surprisingly in the middle of our lunch at the bar the manager John stormed thru the bar shouting at Chelsea about taking food off the line that was meant for the dining room and not the bar. We tried calling 12 times to let them know we were going to be a few minutes late even though our reservation had a 15-minute grace period. No one answered the phone- not once. We arrived 5 minutes late and there was a line out the door for the host. We waited 10 minutes to get close enough to try to check-in and were told by the couples at the front that they'd been waiting 20 minutes and no one had greeted them, and they had a reservation even earlier that ours. Finally, a couple walked out who had just finished, and they said the restaurant informed them they were no longer serving food for the evening. All of us left, and we will not be back. This place used to be tilted kilt downtown. With that gone, it was replaced by a more high end restaurant. The interior decor was really sharp like a fancy cabin so it also feels cozy. For the appetizers we ordered cornbread, bacon and bone marrow. We were not disappointed at all. The bacon was thick and flavorful, the bone marrow had a good consistency and paired well with the baguette and the corn bread was also delightful. For my meal I got the shrimp and grits. I normally don't like grits as it can taste very bland. This one however was far from that. It was the perfect balance of salt, savory and the texture was just right. We came before a show on Valentine's Day. Our waitress was really nice but seemed to need help. Took a really long time for food. When our food came out, everybody's food was cold. They comped our meals for our inconvenience. Drinks were good but it would've been nice to eat. Nice atmosphere but probably won't return. read more

I will never ever go back to this place! 6 of us went to have dinner before the Valentine Love Jam concert at the Suns arena. We waited over an hour for our food only for it to be all COLD! The steaks tasted like old cold grease. The mashed potatoes and meatloaf was cold. The waitress apologized but never sent the manager over. I had to ask another waitress to send management to our table. The manager apologized saying the kitchen wasn't prepared for the amount of customers that night. Huh? It was Valentine's Day. We had to go to the show on empty stomachs after having alcohol. It was terrible. Of course we didn't pay for any of that cold food. We left and will NEVER go back. They're whack for that!!! read more
