Myy first time here was at a Yelp event and it was a such a delight. The hostess, servers, manager, and executive chef were super hospitable. The patio area is lovely. Nice and open with a view of the restaurant of Cityscape. The food served was phenomenal. These new menu items are going to be a hit. Appetizers: - Tuna tartare -;Bacon wrapped dates, Salad: - Oven roasted beets and greens - Burrata Entrees - Honey and vinegar short rib - Blackened salmon - Seared diver scallops Dessert: - Chocolate croissant bread pudding - Espresso creme brule My favorites were the tuna tartare, seared diver scallops (short rib came in 2nd place), and the chocolate croissant bread pudding. I can't wait to return to enjoy more of the menu. Thanks team for a marvelous experience!

Gorgeous Space, semi-open kitchen, attentive service, delicious food. We were looking for later dinner after arriving in Pheonix and were very happy when we walked in. They serve a full menu until 10pm, then bar bites till midnight. We ordered 4 plates to share. The cocktail menu is outstanding! I ordered an infinite stays acoustic ( zero proof ) and my friend ordered an always sunny in Arizona. Both unique, his was potent! The Calamari was fantastic, I did not try a fried pepper because I'm not able to handle spice. My friend said they were Hot ( and ate all 3 of them )... The burger was good, Fries were ok. I have never liked crinkle cut fries... Brussel Sprouts were Fantastic! We couldn't finish them, but they are in the fridge of our hotel. Fried Green Tomatoes were perfect. Anna Beth ( the manager ) was friendly and we had a great visit about travel.

We really like Blue Hound. The location is great if you have downtown plans. We come here a lot before a show at the Herberger theater or Arizona Financial center. This time, the bar was totally decked out in blue for Blue Blitzen Christmas theme. It was actually pretty cool! There was we went silver foil paper on the walls and blue lights everywhere. It was kind of weird because you kind of couldn't even see the people at the bar! I loved it! The dining area next to it had a good view of the blue bar, but had regular lighting. I really love the wedge salad here, so every time I've come I've ordered the same thing - - a wedge salad with grilled salmon on the side. Except this time, I got the blackened salmon. Omg! It was so delicious and perfectly cooked! Of course my wedge salad was delish, as it always is. Hubby got the cheeseburger with fries. He said it was really really good. I also got a cocktail called the Jalisco Popper. It was slightly spicy, but not bad at all. Hubby got a beer. We seem to keep coming back because we just enjoy the food and cocktails here, and the location is so good when we've got something to do downtown. We just like Blue Hound Kitchen!

Looks can be deceiving. The food was SO salty, enough so that i couldn't enjoy my meal. The only good thing we had was the macaroni and fried green tomatoes. For being a $$$ restaurant I would expect so much better. Super bummed! I want to also note my stars are solely on the food NOT service.

Charcuterie Board

We went to Blue Hound for a quick bite and a drink before the Katy Perry concert. The location is great because it's within walking distance of the Phoenix Arena. The restaurant is very open and has lots of natural light. It was a friend and I with our 2 younger daughters. They sat us at the farthest table in the back next to the kitchen entrance. There were other tables open and we had a reservation so not sure why they put us there, maybe because we had kids? The table wasn't great. We had a glass of wine and our girls had Shirley temples. We ordered a few different appetizers to share. Charcuterie Board, Burrata, Brussel Sprouts, and the House Mac & Cheese. The Charcuterie Board was more of a meat board. It came with prosciutto, salami, and soppressata, lots of bread, and very little goat and brie cheese. The board needs more cheeses to offset the meat! The burrata sounded so good on the menu, but none of us liked it. The fried green tomatoes were soft and not really fried, at least not the way I've had them before or like them. They weren't crisp. The apple butter didn't do anything for the dish, which was a bummer bc I would have thought the apple butter and the hot honey would be a great combo. The Brussel Sprouts were awesome. They were roasted and tossed with balsamic and parmesan. The Mac n Cheese was also good, but not sure it's worth $20. We ordered it for the girls. Our server was nice. I love Kimpton properties and was hoping Blue Hound would be great, it was just okay. I would go back again to give it another try and request a better table . I would definitely try other things on the menu.

Absolutely delicious dinner tonight at Blue Hound. Right across from my hotel so I couldn't beat the convenience. Then the service, food and patio were just perfect. My server, Macy, was attentive but not overbearing and had just the right amount of suggestions for the menu. Cocktails were delicious and the perfect complement to my meal!

Had an amazing time at Blue Hound kitchen and cocktails located on the first floor of the Kimpton Palomar Hotel. The Service from our waiter was excellent. Food portions were plentiful and the ambiance was great even for a Tuesday evening in the middle of June.

Beef short rib

Gold stars, and rave reviews for the Blue Hound. The beef short rib entree is the best dish I've had in a very long time. Top five meals EVER. The meat was so tender and moist, good heavens, it was perfection. The green chili cheddar grits were a southwestern delight that rounded out the dish beautifully without detracting from the main star, the meat. It was also served with glazed carrots that were a subtle, classic delight; and shallots that I could've gone without. The shallots were served in halves and placed on the edge of the plate. They were well cooked but felt isolated from the rest of the dish and charred on the ends. My partner had the grilled cheese and tomato soup, and that was marvelous. The soup had such a unique flavor and subtle heat. I enjoyed it very, very much and still can't put my finger on what the special twist was. My guesses are white pepper and Thai basil, but I could be so wrong. Regardless, you HAVE to try it -- I'll be thinking about that soup for a long time. We finished the meal off with a bottle of wine and the crème brûlée. Both were delicious. The restaurant itself was clean and classy in its vibe. Staff were knowledgeable and kind and we enjoyed their service. Unfortunately, they seemed to have attracted a very political clientele due to an event held downtown when we visited. A dress code would have been appreciated to maintain the ambience and vibe, but I understand that that just may not be the standard. There is a bar seating area, separate tables area, and a balcony seating outdoor area. We left with a $150 bill for two with wine, a small dish, large dish and dessert. Worth it imo. I will absolutely be back when I'm in the mood for a delicious meal, and I recommend it to couples for a nice dinner, date night, or celebration.

Blue Hound is located in downtown Phoenix and is connected to a hotel. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice and the staff were very friendly. We ordered the hot honey wings, the burger, and the lobster roll. The hot honey wings had very good flavor. My only call out is they lacked spice. So if you don't like spicy food you will enjoy these. The lobster roll has a slightly different take than usual as this one has capers in it. I enjoyed there take on it and would get it again.

Service...very attentive and available Ambiance...great vibe, good music, kind of quiet, which I do t mind, but likely because it's 8 pm on a Sunday...I was here yesterday and it was more busy. Food...Crab Spinach Artichoke Dip & Korean BBQ Crispy Shrimp. (Yesterday, I was here and unfortunately, I do not have pictures but I had the Brussel sprouts and St. Louis ribs)...BOTH days did NOT disappoint...yesterday had "The Phoenix" cocktail, it was so amazing. I had to have it again tonight..

Blue Hound was offering a great Christmas dinner option that was worth the visit. We had a reservation which may not have been necessary but I've been before and there was always a wait. The ambiance is modernish with high ceilings and lots of floor to ceiling glass windows. I just wish they would do their seating differently because it felt like they bunched all of their guest together in one small area in tables next to each other when there were so many other available tables. My filet was cooked perfectly and I loved the smashed potatoes.

Family and I wanted this location on Saturday, June 1 for early lunch. The parking can be a little hectic so you can either use the parking garage and or street parking. Upon entering, the restaurant is attached inside of the hotel called the Kimpton. The decor and scenery is very beautiful inside the hotel and the restaurant. We noticed it was not very busy at all only a few people at the bar and our table and the bartender was also our waitress and she was very kind and attentive. Additional staff come in for rush. We were able to ask her questions and she provided us answer accordingly and we placed start order and our staffing was very friendly and attentive, and our food was delicious . We ordered two of their hamburgers with fries and chicken sandwich with fries and everything was absolutely delicious . We were told that they were breaking back their brunch menu for Saturday and Sunday as well, which we would love to try one day. Tip the sandwiches are more affordable, but the dinners are a little pricey, but you do get more bang for your buck for the sandwiches cause it's very filling. We also were able to look around the downstairs of the hotel because it's right outside of the restaurant and it's very beautiful. Are a lot of other restaurants in the area and shops that you could be able to walk around as well to view.

Seafood Jambalaya

Blue hound is a Phoenix classic tavern in the Kimpton hotel. It's got a nice downtown bar feel with a solid liquor stash and some very tasty options. Only down one star because the kitchen was a bit slow. Not really worth complaining about but we noticed. My jambalaya was really excellent; fresh pasta served hot with a nice bit of spice. The prosciutto wrapped shrimp was top notch also as was a caper dressed lobster roll and based on the food quality I will absolutely return

We each ordered a pizza but they took almost 45 minutes to arrive, my friend had a simple pepperoni while I had the truffle. The pizzas were ok but at $21 each they weren't worth the wait. When the bill was brought to our table I asked for it to be split by person since my friend an I were paying separately but the staff member split the bill in half so I ended up having to partially pay for my friend's drinks (they ordered something while we were waiting for the pizzas). It's not a big deal but the staff member was like "ok sure" and promptly ignored my request. There was also a 3% credit card surcharge so that was kind of annoying. I left a small tip but that was being generous. I wanted to go to the pub mextdoor but my friend convinced me that we should go here instead. I won't be making a return visit.

The Desmond was exactly what I was looking for. As soon as I walked in, it felt like the the kind of restaurant I would a regular at back home; a charming and homey decor, a vast selection of bourbons and other liquors, and friendly attentive service. The place was filled with regulars who didn't mind sharing the place with visitors. The Desmond was honest and unpretentious.

It's hard to put into words how great this place is. Have you ever been somewhere when everything…read morejust feels "right, balanced, happy"? That is Farish House. The cozy, intimate comfort of what used to be Coup des Tartes blended seamlessly with the deep, peaceful, gentle "love" you felt from House of Tricks into one calm, warm, easy spot. Farish House is a real, soul-warming experience across the board. The service, care, comfort, ambience, food, value and clear love they put into everything make Farish House our new favorite place. We walked through the front gate, up onto the front porch and inside where we took one of three small tables in the cozy front salon of this soul-warming 1899 French Bistro. *Food: we started with a bottle of Australian Cab. Shockingly good. And not crazy expensive, especially on Thursday when bottles are 30% off, it was an amazing deal. Turns out, the owner, Greg, was in the wine distribution business for several decades, curating wine programs for top Valley restaurants, so he really knows his stuff and their vast wine selection is amazing. We were offered a basket of truffle popcorn, mmm, salty, crunchy, and rich. We ordered the Chef's Selection Charcuterie and Warm Noble Baguette & Marinated Olives to get started. Both were beautifully curated, balanced, and incredibly high quality. The flavors and textures blended perfectly. with cheeses broken from large wheels, rather than cut and sliced, house-made pickled grapes, unique and unusual ingredients, smokey meats, compound butters, just awesome! We then moved into one of the cozy dining rooms and ordered the slow roasted Peposo Short Ribs and fingerling potatoes pan fried in duck fat served with Moroccan spiced aioli. Both were rich, warm and delicious. For dessert, and yes we thought we'd explode from all this food, we ordered a massive slice of bread pudding, some of the best I've ever had, rich, gooey and incredible. Along with that we ordered a beautiful Espresso Martini and an off-menu banana cream martini. Their drinks are not "poured" or mixed here, they're balanced and expertly crafted. This is French Bistro comfort food at its finest and it's unmistakeable. *Service: it just doesn't get better. Everyone working there is "family". And that's how they make you feel; like family, cared for, wanted, welcomed. Service isn't a choreographed masterpiece, no tuxedos, cloths draped over arms, napkins frantically re-folded when you step away, dishes served and cleared in unison. No, it's relaxed, warm, friendly, kind, like being at your grandmothers house and knowing you're surrounded by people who care. Met Greg and Katherine, the owners, and their daughter Alexandra and several other "family" members taking care of us. Their appreciation for your presence is unmistakable. *Ambience: it's just plain comfy, cozy, easy, relaxed, warm, deep, gentle, worn (in a good way), wise, and calm, that's the best I can describe it. Hard wood floors, cozy rooms, soft, warm lighting. It's a non-pretentious, French bistro that feels like the home of a favorite grandma or great aunt living in a warm family cottage in the outskirts of Paris. *Value: it's perfect. It's not ridiculously expensive like Kai, Brinkley's, Cafe Monarch, Christopher's, or French Laundry where you go, "okay, that was fun but we'll only do this very occasionally/rarely and it's probably worth it, but dang that was pricey!" No, Farish House is 100% value to experience, not cheap, but not overpriced, the balance is just right. It's a place you can go often, and we will. Yes, our meal with apps, drinks and dessert, some on happy hour and the Thursday wine special, was around $200. I'd happily say this experience was worth every penny. *Overall: I can't recommend Farish House highly enough. Parking is on the street or in a nearby lot, and that's a downtown thing. There's a small lot in back. The food, ambience, service, quality, and experience were stellar. I wish I could rate them 6 stars instead of just 5. I'll return often and highly recommend Farish House to everyone. I genuinely hope you enjoy as much as we did!

We arrived just around dusk and since the weather was beautiful, we got a table on the patio. There is such a contrast of two vintage homes, one being the Farish House in a sea of highrise buildings in downtown Phoenix! If you like a restaurant with a great wine selection, this is your place. I was lucky enough to have both of the owners (Kathryn and Greg) come by and greet us. This bottle (pictured below) of Pinot Noir was suggested to us, and we decided to have with our meals since our chosen dishes were beef and pork. One of the best wines I have had recently. We had the stuffed date appetizers which were devoured so quickly I did not have a chance to snap a pho My friend chose the beef short rib dish, which was well presented and extremely flavorful. After carefully reading each item, it was very hard to make a choice. I ended up with the pork chop meal, see cauliflower/potato mash, asparagus, and the awesome sauce along with the perfectly cooked pork chop made my taste buds very happy! We had service by Ella who is fabulous and also got to meet the owners daughter Alexandria. But there's more! After much deliberation and compromise, we both decided to share the bread pudding. I have been to New Orleans many times where they make fantastic bread pudding. The Farish House bread pudding can stand up to the best of the bread pudding in New Orleans and that is saying a lot. If you are a foodie and like local family owned businesses, this is your spot. Since I am only visiting, I will not be here for their Saturday Tea Service! Thank you so much for providing me with another wonderfu and delicious memory of my Phoenix visit. As Arnold Schwarzenegger says "I'll be back!" Bob, the Farish House cat ‍ was a delightful "host" as well.
