What a cool spot!! I was bar hopping with some friends on a Thursday night in Phoenix, and Cobra Arcade Bar happened to be one of our stops. It gives off a nostalgic vibe with the old school arcade video games scattered throughout the dance floor. You can play the games with tokens and dance the night away! I should mention that I've never really been the bar/club type gal, but whenever friends drag me out, I'm game once in a while, lol. I had a nice buzz going on when we arrived, but my friend told the rest of us not to "act drunk" because they WILL NOT let you in if you show any signs of being drunk, so be warned! We didn't stay long, but we had a drink each, went out on the dance floor for a few minutes and then went to our next stop. This place is pretty big, so next time I want to explore more areas of it. I went there on a Wednesday night for R&B night. The music was awesome. The DJ was great. Everybody was dancing and having a good time. The drinks were reasonable, and the bartenders were very attentive. I have been there several times before. Every time is a wonderful experience. Most of the arcades here are old games so nothing new and modern like Street Fighter 6. No food served here, just alcohol. Note that they sometimes have DJ's here and they play music so loud that you have to scream just to talk to someone next to you. For an arcade, you'd think that they'd have arcades that actually worked. I played Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and the stick and buttons were so horribly malfunctioned. I also wished that the games were clear as to how many tokens you needed to play them. I only had 3 tokens left and wanted to try pinball only to realize that it costs a $1 to play them. They really need to do maintenance on their arcade machines. read more

What a vibe!!! I came earlier in the evening to get some drinks and to play some arcade games. The bartender was pretty dope and took care of all our needs, explained the layout and the vibe, and let us know the rules lol. A wide selection of pinball machines and arcade games. Several of the machines ate our coins and sometimes it wasn't clear how many coins you needed to put in to play which was kind of annoying but I guess that's somewhat to be expected when the machines are 40 years old. They have a fun drink menu and prices are reasonable. There are a few spots to sit and places to set down your drinks while you play which is also nice. read more

Cool little video game arcade and pinball spot that serves alcohol, why not? Place isn't luxurious or nothing fancy but this place reminds me of Melrose in California with their cool graffiti art design but this place doesn't really have much room or seated areas. Parking is horrible here so check out this place on the weekdays or non peak hours. read more

Racially profiled at Cobra on 7/5/2026. Standing in line and told we can't get in because we were supposedly drinking a beatbox but the black people behind us really had it. One of the people even went to security and owned up to them having the drink and not us. And guess what? A light was flashed on us , and we were still told to leave by the police. Security made sure to say they have cameras and I've reached out more than once for them to show me the footage and resolve this. Still nothing. My main thing is that it was embarrassing and the security guard was wrong. read more

An absolute neat bar to go to. We stumbled upon it while walking around downtown and I'm glad we did. The staff wasn't pushy and we were able to enjoy games (which they have some fun ones that operate well). The music and overall vibes were good. We got there early enough on a a Friday before the crowd came in so it was spacious, cool and chill. First time I've been there. Tried to go to cobra...... took me second to find my ID and they wouldn't let me in... horrible security and service.

Every time I go here the music is popping and the drinks are flowing. My birthday was no exception. Though the drinks are about $10 a pop, I enjoyed my birthday. They have a Mexican Candy shot which was pretty good and a purple concoction (sorry forgot the name). Everyone was friendly and the staff was speedy. DJ took requests and played it for free and almost instantly. Next door they have a place called Hi Fi that is low key but equally as as fun. Great people & drinks! If you get hungry there is a food truck right in front that is excellent! 10/10. Even the security is chill. Just FYI YES, they are gay friendly. Highly recommend both places! read more

Huge bar and two rooms of arcade games! If you buy drinks, you'll get a few dollars worth of tokens for free, and then you can bring cash to exchange for tokens as well. The bar was able to break a $20 for us since the token machine doesn't give you change. We loved the XMen game, all the types of pinball, and DDR best. At my age trying to step outside the box and try new places can be difficult so we headed into Phoenix for the evening our first stop was this place. I like the concept if I was 21 again lol it's super small inside the pictures make the place look big it's not a bad place by any means the age bracket you ask? 21-30. Now the beer was cold and I was shocked by my screwdriver when I tasted it and the orange juice was really good so the bartender definitely knew what she was doing and the staff was ok they kind of kept to themselves. The place was great, and my friend and I showed up around. 8;30-9pm and stayed until 12 Am on a Thursday night. We spent a good amount of money at the bar and tipped well, as well as purchased several dollars in arcade coins in our time there. All was well in the early hours of being there and at around 12 AM my friend and I were about to leave and 3 bouncers surrounded us saying we were "wobbly" while walking to the restroom and were asked to leave. I can contest that we were not "wobbly" at all and never in 20 years of going to bars and spaces have I ever been asked to leave. It felt to me that we did not meet the demographic of what was wanted at the space and then therefore asked to leave. I felt disgraced. I guess if you are not fitting a certain type of look, you're not wanted at a Phx arcade bar.. I hope the bartenders enjoyed the good cash tip we left. In all honesty, I didn't think playing arcade games was my idea of a great night out, but I really enjoy being here. Even if (like me) you're not a big gamer, there's a lot of cool things to try. I already knew I loved Dance Dance Revolution, but I enjoyed branching out to pinball - competing with friends on side by side machines is a blast. You don't have to be skilled to have fun. Come on a night where you get free arcade tokens with a drink purchase! It's a good deal. You also get some tokens with your Yelp check-in. They have an interesting cocktail menu with drinks themed after classic game characters.  "Inky's Drinky" is the same light blue as the titular Pac-Man ghost and tastes like a maraschino cherry. I wouldn't come here just for drinks, but it is a fun night out. The location is convenient, near the light rail and a bunch of other cool places to eat and drink. They have a good playlist, yet they're definitely not a club, no matter how loud it gets on the weekend. Probably not the best date spot if you're seeking intimate conversation, but I'd recommend it to anyone. read more

Came here 3 years ago and had a blast playing arcades and having drinks. Now it's just a night club for a crowd giving $1 tips at the bar. Sad to see what's happened to this place. They decided to stop serving me drinks after like my six jack and Coke. But right after I stopped being served, the bouncer came and told me I had to leave because I was cut off??? It was just so crazy. It was like the stupidest thing I've ever seen. I just wanted to dance with the new people I met. That's it. Like I didn't need another jack and Coke but the fact that they kicked me out was like literally crazy. I don't act up, I'm 30 years old. This isn't even my scene, I go to restaurants to drink, I was just invited to cobra by some friends and I definitely did not want to be there anyways. But making me leave and not letting me dance, like what kind of dictator runs this place. The girls in the bathroom acting up like crazy twerking on the paper towel dispenser and making it impossible to wash your hands shoulda been kicked out, why kick out someone who's chillin doing nothing? Fraudulent representation of state law by bouncer. Bouncer is ignorant of state liquor laws and claims a child cannot enter with the child's parent briefly to pick up the other parent. Recommend they learn to read and that those running a bar understand state law and not attempt to give erroneous legal advice. I do not know if they present this ignorant opinion because they are intentional liars or they just have no knowledge of the terms under which their liquor license is granted.
