I have came here twice with friends and they always play great music, seating Ans a dance floor and they have arcade machines all around and to top it off they have a food truck outside you can order from and bring the food in! The guys that check id at the front are awesome and I always forget the Friday night door guy with long dark dreads he's quick with removing disrespectful people out the establishment when needed! They make some good drinks and I always have fun! Every time we do here it take along wait to get a drink from the bar, I just have a guy get the bartenders attention for me. Was wanting to try Cobra in Phoenix since we love the Cobra in Tucson. Was having fun then when needing to pay our tab turns out my card declined due to a $52 pre-authorization charge that took all my money that I had in my card that I opened with. Since it declined I gave them another card to pay with but told them that the $50 pre-authorization was the reason why my card declined, they insured me that it was just pending and it will go back to my card in a few days. We were only visiting in Phoenix and staying over night so it was really annoying to be $52 short for our trip. It's not a lot but never have I heard of a place needing to pull $52 from my card to pre-authorize my $17 drinks. Games were fun but it was a small space compared to Tucson and drinks were expensive. Never coming back. I'll stick to Tucson Cobra arcade. read more

They threw me out for no reason other than a song request. This place isn't all that, security are try hards. The vibe is off, try to play Kendrick Lamar in there and they sent me out. Very fun bar in downtown. It gets quite busy on the weekends and can sometimes have a very long line. The music can be very hit or miss. Security and staff often seem overwhelmed and not always the nicest. The smaller bar to the left of cobra is usually much less buys and can get in very quick. We had a few hours to kill before our flight back to Atlanta and we stumbled upon Cobra Arcade Bar so we had to give it a whirl. Nice little joint with a prime selection of 80's and 90's arcade cabinets. It was nice to play some of the classics again and unlike many arcades, they were mostly still all a quarter (token) each and not $1 or more. Super fun bar awesome prices and a really fun crowd with it being an arcade/dance bar. The owner also owns an amazingly fun anime bar Next door that is also a great vibe!!! They promote visiting both bars but watch out for the bouncers!!! They are all mostly chill and allow you to float between bars for the most part but when they decide that's enough, that's enough. Without warning they shut it down and will kick you out for going back to the bar you were originally admitted into. Additionally, they do not have the aptitude to distinguish a fraudulent ID from a real one and are extremely unapologetic. My new favorite past time is finding great arcade bars with classic games mixed with booze. This was my second time at this location and just as fun as the first. Classic games such as TMNT, Simpsons, 1942, Mortal Kombat and so many others. It's located near downtown Phoenix and can get pretty busy on the weekends so I would suggest coming a little early to enjoy your game time. I go to barcades if they have them in the city I'm visiting for work, so I've been to plenty, and Cobra Arcade Bar was the liveliness out of all of them. I love the open air set-up, with the food trucks out front (with good options!). They also have cool street art for walls inside, and of course, Arcades that line the walls. They make it more of a party atmosphere here, with a DJ, and a crowd that comes dressed to have fun. There's a lot of drinking and hanging out here, not just arcade games. It's a young spot (but no kids) with good music, good games and drinks. This is a barcade that is more party-leaning and good times are to be had. read more

We had the best time here! We were visiting PHX and just happened to walk by. I've been to several arcade bars where I live, and Cobra is the best one. Really good variety of games and a good mix of old school/newer arcade games (we played Super Mario Bros, pinball, Tapper, Out Run, etc) so that everyone can find something they like. I liked that the games were separated into mostly one room, so that people who didn't want to play could hang out, dance, or drink in the other rooms or patio. There are little drink shelves between almost all games. The security/bartenders are friendly and welcoming, and the crowd had a good vibe overall. I think it's a cool idea of combining vintage arcades with booze! Been looking to come here for a couple years. Just moved here last year and finally was able to make my way down into the area. As an idea for an arcade bar, it's not a bad place. The bar is larger than the arcade area, there's a dance floor area and a DJ. There were plenty of drink options. Online, the place says it has 20+ parking spots but we counted like 8. Street parking out front doesn't count. The arcade options are also decent. You get 4 tokens per dollar, but some games require more than one just to finish a game, like bowling (you can only play half a game with one token. Like, I get that it's not too expensive but just require 2 tokens instead of selling the game short on purpose). It's a great place if there are multiple other options in town, but there aren't. From what I can find, there's only one other option and that place is listed as satisfactory only. Because this place is downtown, because this place is realistically advertised as the best arcade bar option, because it's just another bar without the arcade games, it's a 3 star. I wouldn't come back unless I'm in the area, and I'm not from the area. read more

Second of all I understand that that's there job to be securing the door and bar however, accusing me to be intoxicated while having a physical disability is no excuse. This is the THIRD time. THERE SHOULD BE NO WAY A SECURITY GUARD TELL ME " I'm going to have you to leave and get escorted out because you look too intoxicated" Keep in mind i'm barely approaching the first hour inside the establishment. Moreover, asking me to leave multiple times and telling the security guard that I AM DISABLED AND INTEND TO TRIP WHEN THERE IS SO MANY PEOPLE. I cannot express how humiliating and disrespected I felt. I never had a problem here what so ever. I have even done a guest dj set from time to time and been perfectly fine. BUT LAST NIGHT ON OCTOBER 27th 2024 at 11:25 pm It was not fine. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT INTO THIS ESTABLISHMENT THAT HIRES SECURITY That discriminates against the disabled people. BTW. Go to Sazerac and Lucky bar nextdoor! Sazerac has one of the most beautiful bars I've seen and these two bars saved the night with amazing cocktails, wonderful friendly bartenders, open space, and beautifully lit ambiance. This place cobra is gross...it took 20 minutes to get attention from the bartenders on a Sunday night. Then a surly blonde haired bartender with glasses finally asked if I'd been served. I said no and she just waited and stared as she was annoyed to be taking my order. I asked if they had crown royal & Diet Pepsi, she looked at me blankly as if I asked a stupid question then nodded and blinks. She said "Diet Coke." I said okay, I'll take crown royal in Diet Coke. She went to print my receipt and rudely tossed it at me, and the receipt didn't even land solidly on the bar, instead it blew back behind the bar. I walked out as she made the drink. Bartenders like this cause a bar to lose money because of their crappy service. Also, the vibe is more like a dark, dirty frat house with its gross sticky bar top, sticky floors that make a sound every time you lift your foot to take a step, and overly loud music. read more

This bar was a hot spot in downtown Phoenix. They have a variety of old games and great specials depending on what day of week you go. My girlfriend and I just happened to go on a Monday and it was "dudes night" where any guy got to play for free all night! What a great deal! I've been here a few times, at different days & times and have learned that if I don't want to wait in line (not for long, at least), get there by 9pm ish pm on the weekends! I came here with friends well before quarantine happened. We went on a Wednesday night and we had a BLAST! We decided to stop by after work and it was all of our first time here. At the time when you purchased a signature drink they gave you a hand full of coins to play the games with! The drinks here were good but not too strong. There was also a good truck in front that sold tacos that night. The fact that you can sit at the bars and play video games with others at the bar was the BEST! Have spent lots of time here but one Security guard has it out for me. I was kicked out last weekend because of the way I looked at him. This man is always on ego trip. I got here at 9pm on a Saturday night, and this place was packed. I waited about 20 minutes to get in, and then I appreciated the fact that they just don't let everybody in at once. It was busy inside, but there was room to move - more so in the front room rather than the back in my opinion. There were plenty of arcade games, and as most have already mentioned, they were free (hopefully it stays that way)! It was cool because people were there just to have fun and relive some childhood memories. Also, the drinks are affordable! There's a good variety of beer, and they have a full bar. Some quick notes/tips: a. For the ladies, I don't think there's any preferential treatment. You'll have to wait in line like the rest. b. There was a food truck right outside of Cobra, and the bar doesn't care if you bring the food in. However, don't leave or you'll have to wait back in line. I got the attention of the guy taking orders, and he happily walked over, took my order, completed my transaction, and handed me my food when it was done. Easy! c. There are a men's and women's bathroom. When you initially walk down the hallway, it may look like they are individual ones - it's not. I really enjoy the place a lot, a bunch of old arcades. And their selection of beer is great! I'm a dark beer drinker (Porter and Stout), and this place is the only bar with arcades that offers dark beer, so I'm happy! GREAT price! Tuesday is the best day for me, free coins with a purchase of a pint of beer. The entire staff is extremely friendly. I go there a couple of time a month for beers and games. Can't beat having a beer while playing games. A big plus, they just brought in a new table for Pac-man. This is far my favorite one of all. It's not often I can say that I watched Heathers and Nightmare on Elm Street at a bar. I had to pinch myself to make sure we were not transported back to the 80s, walking through the bar and seeing pinball machines and classic arcade games everywhere. My friend and I played 1943 and Rampage. I can honestly say, I haven't played those games since I was in grade school! I was excited beyond words! I really enjoyed my Dirk the Daring cocktail. It had vodka, lemon lime and Serrano chili. Yes, I said Serrano chili. What can I say? Refreshing drinks with a kick are awesome! Games are played with tokens but don't worry if you didn't bring your ziploc of quarters, because there are change machines available. There is an outdoor patio but it does get warm and there are no games out there. Might as well play it safe and snag one of the booths when resting from the radical game playing. read more
