    Philly cheesesteak eggrolls
    Joy T.

A pub with good food. Situated along the light rail and a short walk to watch baseball or a basketball game. Here for World Cup. Very busy but we were able to get a table. Got the Philly Cheesesteak Eggrolls, Southwest Eggrolls, a small bowl of clam chowder. All hit the spot. Crispy egg rolls, great filling with both the Philly cheesesteak & chicken. Soup was also good but not thick or chunky in case that's what you have to have in your soup. Beers were constant and the service were both friendly and fast. Will return next time I find myself downtown.

Stopped in at the Crown Public House before we went to the Diamondback's game and didn't leave for a few hours as the bar environment was fun and inviting! Enjoyed the FIFA World Cup Specials - $10 wings $10 loaded pizza. The $5 Stella beers were great! Bartenders are attentive and keep things lively. Appreciate a fun afternoon just outside the ballpark. Didn't miss being at the baseball game at all. Plus the game was on the TV at the bar. Fun time!

This was a cute soccer bar right outside of Chase Field. It is a Liverpool bar with scarves hanging all over the place. They are fully decorated for the World Cup, which is cool. I got the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls and they were pretty good. I would recommend. The fried pickles and the cheese curds were also good, but I didn't like the sauce that they came with. It is buffalo based. It was open seating and service was relatively quick.

The location is great and is a good place to go before the game. Unfortunately, I'm not much of a soccer fan so it's kind of annoying when they have games on. The food is decent for a sports bar, but I wouldn't write home about it.

Great place to enjoy a soccer game or any sports game . Lunch starts being served around 11 . They have one basic breakfast plate . Was clean and servers were kind and attentive .

This place was a lot of fun near both the Diamondbacks and Suns stadiums. We went before the Suns game, and it was just crowded enough. Lots of lights, and TVs everywhere. They have a full bar and food. Basic dive bar items: We just opted for drinks. Love how cavalier and honest the waiter was about his preferred drinks and food items.

Are you looking for a sports bar? Try Crowns. There are conveniently located near Chase Field and Phx Stadium. The jambalaya is everything. It contains shrimp, sausage, and chicken stewed in seasoned tomatoes with onions and peppers over a bed of rice. There is street and garage parking nearby. Lightrail accessible.

My absolute favorite place to eat and grab a drink before a baseball/basketball game downtown. Your typical sports bar vibe. Great drink selections and food menu, has a little bit of everything you could want before a game. Service is always quick & attentive even when it's busy before a game. Would definitely recommend stopping by!!

We stopped by after watching the LAD vs DBacks game across the street. We were promptly seated near the tv with loud music playing in the background, and offered water. Our waiter, Slade was friendly, helpful and so attentive. He suggested drink options, made recommendations on liquor, and continuously checked on us. I had a well balanced margarita, the hubby cold beer and we split chicken wings. The wings were freshly made, juicy and crispy without being overly fried. The Crown Public House was a great find and the service top notch. Would most definitely return.

Friendly bar / restaurant across the street from Chase Field. I had a smash burger for lunch. The burger came with American cheese and lettuce, tomato, & onion on the side with a pickle. Also, there was a choice of sides (Fries, potato salad, or slaw). Overall very tasty. Their fish & chips is supposedly the specialty and the coworker I was with said they were "pretty good". The place is a little rustic, but has 14 TVs with sports on.

We stopped here before going to a Suns game. The D-backs were also playing so Jefferson St was buzzing. We were there for drinks before the game and this spot was perfect. We took a look at inside bar and it was nice but saw an open table on the front patio and grabbed that. The walk up bar outside was swift and polite. The front patio is a good people watching spot as well on any game day. I will be sure and keep this spot on my list for downtown beers!

First time here, very close to the Diamondbacks stadium. The place is big, spacious and lots of TV's and a juke box. Enough space to keep our luggage next to our table. Waitress was awesome! Food and drinks came out really fast. The shrimp and fries were tasty and drinks were good and very reasonable prices! Nice out door seating as well, nice and cool inside.

Before our visit this past Friday I always thought the service was good and I think the food is good, I can't figure out why owners allow the staff to sabotage their business with bad attitudes and eating chipotle at the bar during their shifts. The bartender this particular night was friendly and totally on her game but she's got a server in the dinging room snacking on chips at the bar it's just looks bad. I could hear John Taffer yelling as I watched the blatant ignorance as she's chomping loud on chips while the kitchens serving up yummy food! It's worth a stop bc the sliders and chicken fingers (tempura battered) are sooo yummmmy.

This is a view from the section where the tables are back across the restaurant, including the bar on the left

They also have quite a few cocktails to choose from. We ordered the pretzel, wings, crispy cod sliders, corned beef sliders, Philly cheesesteak fries, and the Shepherd's Pasty. Everything was really tasty and well balanced, nothing too sweet or too salty. Our favorite was definitely the Pasty. The lamb was cooked perfectly and the crust was flaky and so good. You can tell right away this is the kind of place regulars come back to often. Food I didn't try much food, but I did have the cheese crisp and it was solid. Light, flaky, and more like an open-faced tostada than a quesadilla. It came topped with green chili and chicken, and everything worked well together. Based on that, I'd expect the rest of the menu to be consistent, even if it's not trying to reinvent the wheel. Service Service was efficient, especially considering how busy it was. No complaints here... you can tell the staff knows how to handle a full house and keep things moving. Ambience This is where the place stands out. The vibe feels like a food network designed a biker bar, but in a fun, not over-the-top way. It's also apparently a Kansas City Chiefs bar, which adds to the identity. There was a live band playing early 2000s rock hits, which kept the energy up. Crowd was friendly overall, very much a neighborhood crowd. Overall This isn't a destination bar, but it's a really solid go-to if you live nearby. Think of it as an elevated dive/sports bar with a strong local following. Good drinks, good energy, and a place that does what it's supposed to do well.

SENTRY - WATCHING RESTAURANTS…read more George and Dragon Pub 4240 N. Central Avenue Phoenix, 85012 Companion and I were hungry and I had a craving for English style fish and chips. Where else to go but to a pub! We arrived at 6:40 in the evening and seated ourselves as is the custom. While many of the tables are hightops, we chose a regular table off to the side. First was an appetizer of Curried Chips along with NA Guinness to wash it down. The chips were like mashed potatoes in the center and crispy on the outside. Along with the authentic curry to dip them in, it was deliciousness on a plate. On to the main dishes. Companion ordered Bangers and Mash. Excellent tasting sausages served over mashed potatoes in traditional style. Companion loved it but was unable to finish it. For myself, I had my Fish and Chips that I was craving. 2 large pieces of cod perfectly fried in a beer batter coating. Served over a pile of perfect chips and accompanied by malt vinegar I was back in the U.K. Only problem was that it was served with a side of English peas instead of mushy peas like one would get overseas, but one can't be too choosy. Of course, we had to have dessert. There is always room for dessert! Companion ordered Toffee Pudding with Hot Custard sauce and I ordered the Bread Pudding. The toffee was chewy and sticky as it should be and the hot custard sauce added just the right touch. My bread pudding was in dense slices as is proper in the U.K.. I stole some of companions Hot Custard to put on it and it was wonderful. This was an excellent dinner which brought back memories of pubs in the U.K. The only thing missing off the menu was a Ploughman's Lunch, but not enough people would order it I think. Service and cleanliness were up to par. It's worth noting that on Sundays they have Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding. I can't wait! 5 stars

Maybe a one off, but what a let down. And I have to remember this every time I'm craving carbs until my next cheat day.

I was eating on my own with a book, and I was quickly greeted by one of several team members who stopped by my table over my lunch hour. It was probably my first time being introduced to Irish pubs and the traditional dishes and drinks that they serve. Today, I was walking around near the ASU Downtown Campus and came across Seamus McCaffrey's. I gave it a try for lunch and enjoyed some tasty food and great service. While I didn't grab a drink, I'd certainly consider meeting friends after work there another time. I walked into the bar, and I was literally behind the bar where is was quite dark. Many of the bar seats were taken though I stepped into an area behind the bar where there were a number of open tables where I could seat myself. There was yet another room further back with booths and some creative decor, though I was happy with a table near the bar. The server came right over and made some great suggestions and introduced herself to me. She checked on me multiple times during the meal and made sure I liked what I picked. I ordered an item off the Traditional Favorites menu, the Chicken Pot Pie, which consisted of tender shredded chicken, peas and carrots smothered with herbs in a creamy white gravy under a flaky puff pastry. It also came up with a cheese stick. Both were tasty yet not too filling as I expected. There was a light breaded top to a bowl and then no bread on the bottoms or sides, but that was alright as I didn't need an over-the-top dish for lunch. While the prices are a bit higher than I would have expected them to be, it was certainly worth it, and I'll be back again. Seamus McCaffrey's opened in 1991 and brought a real Irish pub to Central Phoenix. It is a family-run bar that serves Irish classics and pub favorites. From Boxty, shepherd's pie, and fish and chips along with stacked sandwiches, burgers, and starters, the menu is not huge but still feels like it has a bit of everything. They have live music on the weekend and host special events throughout the year. The biggest celebration is its annual St. Patrick's Day street party on Monroe, a Downtown Phoenix tradition filled with great beer, great food, and a whole lot of green. Check out its website (https://seamusmccaffreys.com) to see its menu, upcoming events, photo gallery, and specials. The specials include daily specials, happy hour specials, and a $13 lunch menu.
