Hubby & I had dinner here tonight. We are on vacation so we decided to venture out a little farther out than normal. We didn't even think about there maybe being a game. There was a game & the area for parking & the restaurant was packed. We were greeted by pleasant hostess. We were told 15 minutes wait. I'm not sure how long it was, but it wasn't long. While we were waiting someone came & asked all of us waiting if we wanted a drink. Hubby & I ordered drinks. He brought them right as we were being seated. Hubby got his favorite beer & on draft which is his favorite. It was so good & really cold. I got Tito's & cranberry. It was good as well. Our server came to the table promptly. Hubby ordered the power bowl. I ordered the smash burger. Hubby loved his power bowl. It was huge & full of food. I thought I took a picture, but it didn't come through to my phone. Came to watch the World Cup and left with a very sour taste after what I experienced. It's very unfortunate because I really enjoyed coming to this bar to watch soccer. As the game ended, it was announced over the intercom that customers were free to take the flags hanging from the ceiling. Naturally, people began grabbing them. A man with a gray beard, who claimed to be one of the owners of the bar, started yelling, "Stop acting like animals!" at the customers. There is a respectful and professional way to address people without insulting them, especially when everyone was simply responding to what had just been announced. Otherwise, no one would have started taking the flags in the first place. He then walked over to my fiancé and forcefully ripped a flag out of my fiancé's hands, nearly knocking her to the ground. He also grabbed another customer from behind in a highly inappropriate manner and pulled him down, putting him at risk of falling. It was a very disappointing experience, especially since I visited this pub 5-6 times throughout the World Cup and had always enjoyed coming here until this happened. read more

A pub with good food. Situated along the light rail and a short walk to watch baseball or a basketball game. Here for World Cup. Very busy but we were able to get a table. Got the Philly Cheesesteak Eggrolls, Southwest Eggrolls, a small bowl of clam chowder. All hit the spot. Crispy egg rolls, great filling with both the Philly cheesesteak & chicken. Soup was also good but not thick or chunky in case that's what you have to have in your soup. Beers were constant and the service were both friendly and fast. This was a cute soccer bar right outside of Chase Field. It is a Liverpool bar with scarves hanging all over the place. They are fully decorated for the World Cup, which is cool. I got the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls and they were pretty good. I would recommend. The fried pickles and the cheese curds were also good, but I didn't like the sauce that they came with. Happened upon this bar on our way to the ballpark and the Mexico soccer game happened to also be going on. Walked in and spoke to hostess. They were SLAMMED and very busy and already full inside. That did not deter her from showing kindness and where to go to sit outside by misters and with tvs to watch the game. In a world of hustle and bustle it's nice to still see kindness. Such a shame what this World Cup did for this bar. The owner was getting on the microphone every World Cup game and insulting the patrons who were gladly there spending money, supporting his pub. Telling people to shut up, he had raffles everyday and would act childish on the microphone. He was also criticizing other sports bars in the area, there's enough business for every bar what's the point in insulting your competition. Lastly for the final game, the raffle was rigged by one of the servers, he gave all his buddies winning tickets and to top it off at the end of the game one of the owner said people could take the flags that were hanging on the ceiling. He wasn't very clear on how people should get them so people started climbing on chairs to grab them that's when the 2nd owner started yelling at people faces and inappropriately grabbing them trying to stop them from getting the flags. The outdoor bar was nice and just the bartender was there so I was able to quickly get my beer and a food menu. Ordering was very easy. I started a tab and when my gf arrived we placed our order. Came by Crown Public House after seeing they had watch parties for the World Cup games. The place was packed to the brim and the energy was high. They had some solid drink & food specials during the game, ran a raffle at halftime with some great giveaways, and had the game audio blaring inside & outside. I made the mistake of showing up ~20 minutes before game time and there was not a seat available so I suggest you arrive early if you want a guaranteed seat. I had some time to kill and the NFL playoffs were going on so I was looking for a sports bar in the area. I came across Crown Public House on Yelp and made my way over. Located downtown, super close to where the Suns and Diamondback play, I found street parking close by. Phoenix charges for street parking on weekends too (which is annoying) so this is a factor when checking out this bar. I sat at the bar. Ambiance (3/5): Your typical sports bar. Good number of TVs. Chill. Not fancy or terribly impressive but when you're at a sports bar, what you care about most is being able to watch the game (and hear the sound) which they do here. Service (4/5): I sat at the bar and the bartender greeted me promptly when i sat down and took my order soon after. When I was ready to cash out, it took a little time to get a bartender's attention (there were several working), but other than that, solid. Drinks (4/5): They have a full bar with cocktails, liquor, beer, and wine. When I'm at a sports bar, I typically go with beer. Which is what I did this time too. I ordered a local Arizona beer. Food (3/5): I wasn't looking for a full meal so I focused on the appetizers. I had a couple of choices in mind and asked the bartender for her favorite. She recommended the cheese curds. I'm a big fan of cheese on anything so I rolled with it. What I liked about this app is that it's a generous portion. Basically a full meal in my mind. On the flip side, the cheese curds were incredibly greasy. I get that this is a fried appetizer but they were oozing with oil. At the very least, pat them down with a paper towel before serving them. If you're looking to watch sports downtown, Crown Public House is a good option. They have weekly specials so you can also get a good deal on food and drinks depending on the day of the week. read more

Before our visit this past Friday I always thought the service was good and I think the food is good, I can't figure out why owners allow the staff to sabotage their business with bad attitudes and eating chipotle at the bar during their shifts. Went to have an early dinner before Final Four game. Place was crowded so we realized it would take while to get our food so we ordered right away. I got the fish and chips as Yelpers wrote good reviews. I must have caught them in a bad night because it was terrible! Actually inedible. Almost no batter and was so overcooked and hard it felt like it had bones throughout. I took one bite and resisted the urge to spit it out. I called our server over. She took one look and apologized profusely. She couldn't believe that came out of the kitchen like that. She imminently took it away and asked if I wanted it remade. We were out of time so I passed. She took it off the check and said she had shown it to the manager so he was aware of the situation.
