    Philly cheesesteak eggrolls
    Joy T.

A pub with good food. Situated along the light rail and a short walk to watch baseball or a basketball game. Here for World Cup. Very busy but we were able to get a table. Got the Philly Cheesesteak Eggrolls, Southwest Eggrolls, a small bowl of clam chowder. All hit the spot. Crispy egg rolls, great filling with both the Philly cheesesteak & chicken. Soup was also good but not thick or chunky in case that's what you have to have in your soup. Beers were constant and the service were both friendly and fast. Will return next time I find myself downtown.

My favorite pregame spot of all time. Literally nothing comes close to this place. We go before every sporting or concert event nearby, and it has never disappointed. Buffalo chicken wrap and the Southwest egg rolls are life changing. Nothing like it. Service is always so great. People in here are kind and the drinks are well priced. So much love for this place vibes are just immaculate

This was a cute soccer bar right outside of Chase Field. It is a Liverpool bar with scarves hanging all over the place. They are fully decorated for the World Cup, which is cool. I got the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls and they were pretty good. I would recommend. The fried pickles and the cheese curds were also good, but I didn't like the sauce that they came with. It is buffalo based. It was open seating and service was relatively quick.

Great place to enjoy a soccer game or any sports game . Lunch starts being served around 11 . They have one basic breakfast plate . Was clean and servers were kind and attentive .

This place was a lot of fun near both the Diamondbacks and Suns stadiums. We went before the Suns game, and it was just crowded enough. Lots of lights, and TVs everywhere. They have a full bar and food. Basic dive bar items: We just opted for drinks. Love how cavalier and honest the waiter was about his preferred drinks and food items.

Stopped in at the Crown Public House before we went to the Diamondback's game and didn't leave for a few hours as the bar environment was fun and inviting! Enjoyed the FIFA World Cup Specials - $10 wings $10 loaded pizza. The $5 Stella beers were great! Bartenders are attentive and keep things lively. Appreciate a fun afternoon just outside the ballpark. Didn't miss being at the baseball game at all. Plus the game was on the TV at the bar. Fun time!

Are you looking for a sports bar? Try Crowns. There are conveniently located near Chase Field and Phx Stadium. The jambalaya is everything. It contains shrimp, sausage, and chicken stewed in seasoned tomatoes with onions and peppers over a bed of rice. There is street and garage parking nearby. Lightrail accessible.

The location is great and is a good place to go before the game. Unfortunately, I'm not much of a soccer fan so it's kind of annoying when they have games on. The food is decent for a sports bar, but I wouldn't write home about it.

My absolute favorite place to eat and grab a drink before a baseball/basketball game downtown. Your typical sports bar vibe. Great drink selections and food menu, has a little bit of everything you could want before a game. Service is always quick & attentive even when it's busy before a game. Would definitely recommend stopping by!!

    Buffalo chicken wings

We stopped by after watching the LAD vs DBacks game across the street. We were promptly seated near the tv with loud music playing in the background, and offered water. Our waiter, Slade was friendly, helpful and so attentive. He suggested drink options, made recommendations on liquor, and continuously checked on us. I had a well balanced margarita, the hubby cold beer and we split chicken wings. The wings were freshly made, juicy and crispy without being overly fried. The Crown Public House was a great find and the service top notch. Would most definitely return.

Everything was really tasty and well balanced, nothing too sweet or too salty. Our favorite was definitely the Pasty. The lamb was cooked perfectly and the crust was flaky and so good. This was our first time here and it was such a nice surprise. Cozy spot, good food, good drinks, and friendly service. We'll definitely come back to try more.

SENTRY - WATCHING RESTAURANTS…read more George and Dragon Pub 4240 N. Central Avenue Phoenix, 85012 Companion and I were hungry and I had a craving for English style fish and chips. Where else to go but to a pub! We arrived at 6:40 in the evening and seated ourselves as is the custom. While many of the tables are hightops, we chose a regular table off to the side. First was an appetizer of Curried Chips along with NA Guinness to wash it down. The chips were like mashed potatoes in the center and crispy on the outside. Along with the authentic curry to dip them in, it was deliciousness on a plate. On to the main dishes. Companion ordered Bangers and Mash. Excellent tasting sausages served over mashed potatoes in traditional style. Companion loved it but was unable to finish it. For myself, I had my Fish and Chips that I was craving. 2 large pieces of cod perfectly fried in a beer batter coating. Served over a pile of perfect chips and accompanied by malt vinegar I was back in the U.K. Only problem was that it was served with a side of English peas instead of mushy peas like one would get overseas, but one can't be too choosy. Of course, we had to have dessert. There is always room for dessert! Companion ordered Toffee Pudding with Hot Custard sauce and I ordered the Bread Pudding. The toffee was chewy and sticky as it should be and the hot custard sauce added just the right touch. My bread pudding was in dense slices as is proper in the U.K.. I stole some of companions Hot Custard to put on it and it was wonderful. This was an excellent dinner which brought back memories of pubs in the U.K. The only thing missing off the menu was a Ploughman's Lunch, but not enough people would order it I think. Service and cleanliness were up to par. It's worth noting that on Sundays they have Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding. I can't wait! 5 stars

What an unexpectedly fun night!…read more I honestly had no idea what I was walking into when a friend told me I had to check out Bikini Lounge because they know I'm drawn to all things eclectic. They were absolutely right. From the moment the friendly bouncer smiled and said, "Step right on in," I was hooked. Yoooow!! The first DJ was incredible. He was spinning all kinds of trip-hop, indie, electronic, and remix-style tracks that had everybody partyin'. It wasn't your typical dance music, but every song seemed to connect with somebody in the room. The crowd was incredibly diverse, and it was so much fun watching people of every age and style dancing and nobody cared. The second DJ, a younger woman, shifted the vibe a bit and leaned more toward a younger crowd. It wasn't quite my style, so I took that opportunity to grab a seat at the bar and do what I apparently do best... chat with complete strangers. I'm a talker, and thankfully they seemed just as happy to strike up a conversation. This isn't some fancy cocktail lounge, and that's exactly the point. It's authentic. There were people dancing at the bar, grooving in their booths, bouncing in their seats, and filling the dance floor with great energy. I came by myself, and within minutes a cool group of strangers invited me to squeeze into their booth like we'd all come together. That's the kind of place this is. At one point they even offered me a glass of beer from their pitcher. I politely declined (look at me making responsible life choices... sometimes), but then I realized almost everyone had pitchers! So I sauntered over to the bar. I did have to wait a bit; apparently chivalry doesn't extend to letting a woman cut the line, but once I reached the bartender, the service was fast and friendly. Every trip back to the bar was the same. No complaints there. As the night went on, the energy just kept building. Before I knew it, I was on the dance floor sweating, smiling, and dancing with complete strangers. After a while, I had to retreat to the patio just to catch my breath before heading back in for more. My ankles are still sore... and the glutes? Fuhgetabouttit! The best part of the night wasn't the music or even the drinks. It was the people. Every generation was represented. Every fashion style imaginable. Every personality. And somehow it all worked. There was this genuine sense of joy and community that you just don't find everywhere. If you're looking for polished and upscale, this probably isn't your spot. But if you want great music, a welcoming crowd, zero pretension, and one of those nights where you leave happier than you arrived... give Bikini Lounge a shot. I went in not knowing what to expect. I left wondering why I'd waited so long to go.

A bowl of this soup costs $7.50, Vegetarian, and Available Gluten-Free (+$1). Imagine sliced leeks, starchy potatoes, butter, broth, Stilton English cheese, and heavy cream. When he returned with another glass of water, he slammed it down in front of her and claimed he was the manager. Moments later, another employee came over saying he was actually the manager and that the first employee was just a barback, but he was just as rude and unprofessional. To top it all off, as we were leaving, staff flipped us off. We've never experienced such disrespect from employees over a simple and reasonable question about something that appeared to be in a drink. It was probably my first time being introduced to Irish pubs and the traditional dishes and drinks that they serve. Today, I was walking around near the ASU Downtown Campus and came across Seamus McCaffrey's. I gave it a try for lunch and enjoyed some tasty food and great service. While I didn't grab a drink, I'd certainly consider meeting friends after work there another time. I walked into the bar, and I was literally behind the bar where is was quite dark. Many of the bar seats were taken though I stepped into an area behind the bar where there were a number of open tables where I could seat myself. There was yet another room further back with booths and some creative decor, though I was happy with a table near the bar. The server came right over and made some great suggestions and introduced herself to me. She checked on me multiple times during the meal and made sure I liked what I picked. I ordered an item off the Traditional Favorites menu, the Chicken Pot Pie, which consisted of tender shredded chicken, peas and carrots smothered with herbs in a creamy white gravy under a flaky puff pastry. It also came up with a cheese stick. Both were tasty yet not too filling as I expected. There was a light breaded top to a bowl and then no bread on the bottoms or sides, but that was alright as I didn't need an over-the-top dish for lunch. While the prices are a bit higher than I would have expected them to be, it was certainly worth it, and I'll be back again. Seamus McCaffrey's opened in 1991 and brought a real Irish pub to Central Phoenix. It is a family-run bar that serves Irish classics and pub favorites. From Boxty, shepherd's pie, and fish and chips along with stacked sandwiches, burgers, and starters, the menu is not huge but still feels like it has a bit of everything. They have live music on the weekend and host special events throughout the year. The biggest celebration is its annual St. Patrick's Day street party on Monroe, a Downtown Phoenix tradition filled with great beer, great food, and a whole lot of green. Check out its website (https://seamusmccaffreys.com) to see its menu, upcoming events, photo gallery, and specials. The specials include daily specials, happy hour specials, and a $13 lunch menu. I look forward to returning again this summer!
