This was our favorite spot in Phoenix! It's a great gathering place to meet new people and have some delicious food and cold drinks! The bartenders are so friendly and inviting! The cooks are awesome! The one night we stayed for dinner we tried the Guinness stew and the corned beef hash, both were fantastic! And definitely try the apple pie shots!!

Have always been to Seamus McCaffrey's all those years before pandemic. I'd find myself coming here with my work colleagues right after we get to our downtown phoenix hotel. It would be too late for happy hour, but all of us would end up making it a happy hour indeed. Food is bar style, made to order, Irish inspired items like corned beef cabbage, Irish boxty fish and chips, chicken pot pie, Rueben sandwiches, burgers, with a full bar. It was a spontaneous Thursday night out in Phoenix, it was sort of packed for a weekday night! Luckily me and my friends got a table for us 5 to sit comfortably. Server was fast on her feet. There's also an outdoor patio if you wanted fresh air. What was missing was at least a live band and/or singer which I recall there use to be live performers on weekends. Regardless, l've always had a fun time at Seamus's!

I love the homie energy of this space : we love the authentic Irish pub vibe & this spot delivers! Callen was an excellent attentive and fun server and helped us understand the exact portion of the lime wings : we were that hungry so her description was spot on! I love their Chef Salad so much : it's large in portion and good! Also, the Sea Glass Sauvignon Blanc was amazing while paired with it and the mega pours of it helped us order more and more and more! We shall be back, thank you again Callen! The most fun server named Matt works here - he's happy and has great style. Wes main bartender is warm and welcoming and very much the heart of the bar zone and between him and Andy who was kind enough to put my order for chicken fingers 10 minutes before the kitchen closed. This was very helpful after a long work day! We appreciate all of you!

A straight forward whisky bar with a really wide selection of whisky and a good selection of beer. Additionally it has a kitchen which was really good. Stopped in late. Asked for a recommendation on food. They ultimately gave me the chicken pot pie. It was fantastic. If I hadn't been so filled after I would have gotten a second. It was a hearty meal and full of flavor. Everything I would hope for in a pub Pot Pie. Kind of a darker bar, it has both seats at the bar as well as tables inside and out. Several TVs with various news and sports going. Not so quiet that I felt like I couldn't talk, but also not so loud I couldn't hear the bartender. A nice vibe, good food, and great drink selection.

Oh my good lord!!! So good! Great service, and the food was amazing! Love that there was plenty of space to sit and chairs were comfortable. Definitely try the corned beef it's so good. The whiskey cake is also a must! Our server, Jake, was the sweetest and so fast.

Shepherd's pie, a shot of Jameson, and an empty Guinness

Went twice this week, once for lunch and once for an early dinner. Loved it both times! Matt is an Ace! He remembered my name from my first visit, and made me feel like family. Service was tops, fish sandwich for lunch and shepherd's pie for early dinner were both great. The "chips" with the fish sandwich were the best execution of that type of "chip" I've had in recent memory. Drink specials are priced well, lunch was a $2 Jameson with a draft beer which of course I had a Guinness. Early dinner was happy hour and had $5 draft beers and $5 house liquor. For a quick stint in Phoenix, finding Seamus McCaffrey's was one of the highlights of my week. I would make a point to go again when I am ever in the Pheonix area.

Fish & Fries - I ordered it crispy with extra tartar. Really, really excellent!

Great whiskey, Killer Fish & Fries, solid service, and good company. Best in Phoenix in my opinion.

On this visit, we had just finished lunch at RA Sushi and only planned on stopping in for drinks. However, after seeing the menu, we couldn't resist ordering the wings--and I'm so glad we did. The wings were absolutely delicious. They arrived perfectly crispy, exactly how I prefer them, with a flavorful seasoning that made every bite incredibly satisfying. The accompanying dressing was equally impressive--rich, creamy, and the perfect complement to the wings. Even though we weren't particularly hungry, we found ourselves finishing every last bite. One of my favorite things about The Kettle Black is their outstanding craft beer program. This time, I ordered a beer flight and loved the opportunity to sample several different brews. Each beer offered its own unique character and flavor profile, making the experience both enjoyable and memorable. It's clear that a great deal of thought goes into curating their selection, and it's one of the reasons I continue coming back. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between a welcoming neighborhood pub and a destination for food and beer enthusiasts. The service is always friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, creating an experience that feels both comfortable and elevated. Whether you're stopping in for a full meal, appetizers and drinks, or simply to explore their craft beer offerings, The Kettle Black consistently delivers. It's a place I find myself returning to again and again, and every visit reminds me why it remains one of my favorite pubs in the Valley.

Today, I was walking near my office and came across the Downtown Phoenix location of Cornish Pasty. I enjoyed a tasty lunch with good service, and I am already looking forward to heading back there. When I approached the restaurant from the corner of Central and Monroe, it wasn't clear which door was the door I should enter though it seems like any door off Monroe or Central is just fine. There were limited number of tables plus the bar, and I was delighted to see a small table available. I was eating on my own with a book, and I was quickly greeted by one of several team members who stopped by my table over my lunch hour. I asked a few questions about three options, and I decided upon the Chicken Pot Pie Signature Pasty consisting of chicken, carrots, red potato, green beans, celery, and onion with rosemary. There was also chicken gravy on the side. Everything about the dish was delicious! I would consider ordering this again as I enjoyed it so much; however, I may want to try something else next time. There are so many options! I did learn though that you cannot substitute most options in the pasties. Visit the Cornish Pasty website at https://www.cornishpastyco.com. On the website is the history of the Cornish pasty, information about all 11 locations (of which 9 are in Arizona), menus, a photo gallery, catering options, contact form, employment options, online ordering, and gift cards. The menu consists of their signature pasties and premium pasties though they also list vegan and vegetarian pasties, salads, appetizers and soups, sides, desserts, and drinks. While the Scottsdale and Tempe locations appear larger than the Downtown Phoenix location, it was still comfortable and had similar positive customer service from staff. There are so few restaurants like the Cornish Pasty in the Phoenix area. I'd certainly recommend visiting any of the Cornish Pasty locations though for a positive experience Downtown, feel free to stop by. No reservations are needed. If you don't find a regular table available, feel free to stop at the bar and take a seat there. I look forward to returning back to the Cornish Pasty again soon. Yum!

This is my at-least-once-a-month spot for catching up with friends, popping in solo, or grabbing a "just one drink" that may or may not turn into two. The beer selection is massive, borderline intimidating, and the wine list rotates often, which I love. Pro tip: don't play beer roulette unless you enjoy surprises that might hurt your feelings. Instead, tell the bartender what you like and they'll work their magic, usually with a taste so you don't commit to something you regret. As a wine drinker, I especially appreciate when they suggest something I wouldn't normally order and absolutely nail it. The vibe is casual but a sort of kind of sexy (weird). The dim lighting, great energy, and zero pressure might be it. Bar seating up front, games if you're feeling social, and high tables in the back for groups or communal mingling. It's the kind of place where you can settle in... or pop in, pop out, and still feel satisfied without spending your rent money. They have small bites like grilled cheese and occasional cheese plates, but let's be honest, this is not a food destination, and that's perfectly fine. My beer-loving friends can happily sample half the menu while I sip a perfectly chilled Sauvignon Blanc and judge none of it. And finally, the real MVPs: the bartenders. Always friendly, always helpful, always down to chat, especially if you're there solo (hi, it's me again!). They'll listen to you ramble, offer great suggestions, and somehow make you feel like a regular even if you're just stopping in briefly. Reliable, fun, unpretentious, and consistently solid. I waited about 12 minutes to be seated, even though no one was ahead of me, while two people who arrived after me were seated first. Once at my table, my server walked past me three times without acknowledgment; it took nearly 8 minutes to get water. When my food came out, I noticed my white toast had been swapped for some odd-looking wheat bread with no explanation. I only found out they didn't carry white toast by asking. No manager stopped by, and communication from the front-of-house staff was nearly nonexistent from start to finish. The one bright spot was that the food itself was genuinely good. Visit 2 (Next Day): A completely different experience. The restaurant was actually busier, yet the hostess was immediately attentive and got me seated without delay. My server, Josh, came right over, was personable, and proactively let me know they don't carry white toast, offering sourdough as an alternative without me having to ask. I also had the chance to chat with Erin, the banquet manager, who brought a warm and welcoming energy to the floor. That kind of manager presence was completely absent on day one and made a noticeable difference. Bottom line: The kitchen is solid, both visits confirmed that. But the guest experience here can vary wildly depending on who's working. When the team is on, this place shines. Here's hoping Visit 2 is the new standard.

The service was a bit off (seemed like there weren't enough people to buss tables as we had to ask them to take empty dishes several times, but it was Saturday night and sometimes that happens!) It was a cozy place and fine for conversation, although it is lively with lots going on.

I say that because I feel like it's a hidden gym next to a laundromat that people have probably passed, even though it has been in operation for 65 years! This blink and you'll miss it building has a tiny parking lot with one entrance in and out (beware and be kind). Once you walk into the space it feels like Willy Wonka in that it feels much bigger than it looks! Very quaint and simple in its decor. To the left is a private dining room I'm sure that is for rent with a full bar and one of the last (it seems) walk up salad bars with a fresh variety of ingredients on chilled metal plates, and homemade salad dressings (the 1000 Island is the best I've ever had). Maria is the owner, operator, and in this occasion our waitress showing she wasn't above doing the grunt work. She received hugs and hellos from regulars throughout the night showing her impact on the staff and space. Her Greek accent made us feel warm and welcomed like we were family. Then there was the meal! Known for its Prime Rib we kept it pretty simple. A sirloin beef burger and Prime Rib dinner for the table. An $8 upgrade takes you from 12 to 20 ounce prime rib (if memory serves) with a loaded baked potato and one trip to the salad bar. I believe it was $7 to add a trip to the salad bar for the burger order and was well worth it! At the End of the Day, the only regret was not having the room for the enormous Mud Pie dessert that looked incredible. Maria spoke of retiring so my hope is that someone continues her legacy and Feeney's stays exactly how it is! Any investors wanna go in with me?
